Training for two (Amaya, James)

James stands in the tree, wondering if Amaya had gotten his message. He had sent her a letter, simply written, and simply stating that James wanted to train, and had a few other questions for her. He hopes she shows up, as he jumps out of the tree, heading over to the dummies. He takes out a kunai, and lines up his shot, ready to throw it. He tosses it hard, and fast at the dummy, quickly bringing out another one, aiming and throwing it right next to the first one. He does this with a third, before stopping and grabbing three again. He repeats the process over and over. After fifteen minutes, he sits down, wiping the sweat off his brow. He sighs, and gulps water from his canteen. He sighs, and relaxes a bit, letting his muscles rest.

Amaya wandered through the forest, he black coat trailing behind her. She sighed as she realized that getting some more armored attire would likely be helpful, but for now, her average coat was all she needed. That kid had called her, james or something. He likely wanted to spar or train jutsu, which Amaya was more then willing to do. She needed to finish a few of her other techniques anyway and this was the perfect time to do so. Finding the spot with all the dummies lined up, she sighed and leaned back against a tree. Never one for speaking first, the girl waited for him to notice her.

James glances up, wondering if Amaya was gonna say something, when he noticed her leaning on a tree. He stands up, and walks over to her.
"Good, you got my letter. I have a proposition for you," James starts with. He pauses a second, to gather his courage, and to steel his nerves, "Would you like to be a partner with me for the chuunin rank up mission? I'm looking for a team of genin, and I figured that out of the selection, you have the potential to succeed with me."
He slinks back a little, ready to flee at the sign of rejection. He was a prankster, not a social chatter, so talking like this put him off, and out of his comfort zone.
He looks Amaya in the eyes, and says, "Well, what do you say, will you join me?"

Amaya closed her eyes for a few seconds, thinking to herself. "I have a team, a team of three. Hisano, a Jonin, Dastri, a genin, and Myself, also a genin. If I am to train with you for such an exam, then we should at least bring Dastri. I haven't seen her up in a fight, but from what i hear she is training to be a close quarters specialist. If we wait a few she may appear around here for training and she can join us as well."
Amaya tried to not outright say she had been spying on her comrade, but she found it...difficult to make new friends, and studying a person was her best bet. Dastri would of course need training, as she was relatively new, but she had just as much potential as any of them did.

Dastri dashed and hopped around the training grounds, doing laps around the grounds to help build up her speed and stamina. She needed to be faster and be able to last longer if she was going to be more helpful to her friends. She slowed down as she noticed someone familiar. It looked like that other girl that miss Hisano had taken under her papery wing, what was her name... Amaya! But Dastri wasn't sure who the boy she was standing next to was. Maybe one of her friends? Dastri adjusted her trajectory and headed towards them, slowing as she got closer and being sure to keep Amaya between her and the stranger. "H-hello Amaya! Um, who's your friend?"

James, not resisting a good prank, smiles his best devilish smile at the newcomer and says, "Why, I'm the devil, trading Amaya's soul for power. Would you like to do the same thing?"
James pauses for dramatic effect, but he couldn't keep it in and laughs, "Nah, just kidding. Name's James. I had a question for Amaya, and I was waiting for her reply when you showed up. Nice to meet you. What do people call you?"
He notices how the newcomer kept herself shielded from James by using Amaya so he steps around Amaya, and reaches out a hand in offer of a hand shake.

Amaya did her best people person smile and responded kindly. "This is James, he wanted to do a mission with us."
She gave James a rather unimpressed look at his joke but decided to ignore it for the moment. The mission was to rank up, though assuming James would explain it for Dastri, she felt no need to say it. Ranking up would be nice but she had to be positive they were ready after all, and that wasn't for sure at the moment. Dastri would need to be trained, and she wasn't positive about this James kid. He didn't follow team plans and played as a lone wolf. A ninja who saw no value in teammates wouldn't be super helpful. She would give him the benefit of the doubt however.

Dastri eeped at James's decree of being a devil here to steal Amaya's soul and instinctively  ducked behind Amaya to avoid him. Once Amaya and James had both explained their true intentions, she breathed a sigh of relief and relaxed a bit. "Oh good, i was worried for a second there. You shouldn't trick people like that mister James! What if I'd attacked you to save Amaya!?" dastri Finally stepped out from behind her ally and huffed angrily, her cheeks flushed with embarassment at being so easily decieved. She silently fumed in her own head, tempted to kick the stupid boy in the face for being a jerk! But Amaya said he was here for a mission, and doing missions meant helping the village, so she took a deep breath and calmed down. "well... I guess... If Amaya is gonna do it, I will come along. But if you try something to scare me again I'll get you for it!" She folded her arms and looked at James as sternly as she could, much more confident than usual with Amaya by her side.
