Konoha genin and chunin aptitude test: mt home

(The trip would be a steady but long day till one reaches the vastly familiar piece of history. The well-preserved statues if two ancient shinobi warlords still stand tall. The moss-grown on the etched faces. Behind it lies now a vast mountain range. The river flowing above its roaring down the mountain. A few miles further north. 

The campsite located within a flat cave several hundred feet up the mountain. The need for not using surface walking to continue moving through the hilly terrain must be a relief. The medical tent at the ready as the medics by campfire have prepared an ointment for such brittle feet. The sleeping tents next to them to the entrance, and with it each participant would find their tags, and the rules within their tents. There within is enough food and supplies for 3 days. (Good luck))

Advantage 

+10 to doton/earth jutsu power while on land
+10 to water/suiton jutsu while on the water.


The high ground

With such a view. Individuals get a solid grasp of the surrounding area. The team has a solid view of the area able to see up to 250  meters up and down the range. As long as there are no obstructing elements(mist, smoke, heavy rain, etc) this allows individuals to spot targets from such a range, and of course, prepare accordingly.


Disadvantage

The unstable earth/ rushing river

Due to such an environment. All individuals must maintain the surface walking technique unless they are on the statues or at a cliff edge. These provide 10 meters of flat ground. The use of earth jutsu is especially treacherous. There are various cliffs that range from 5-10 meter drops down to the river and final valley. Earth jutsu/doton will create a rock slide that travels at the speed of the juts and requires a strength stat equal to the power of the jutsu to resist being moved.  If the strength stat is lower. The individual is moved in meters equal to the range of the earth just. 

Should an individual be knocked off an edge they will need a health stat  of at least 10 to not get seriously hurt. With health stat of 30+, they will not suffer any damage.

The river travels through the battlefield boasting a power of 50 to resist the currents if an individual is not using surface walking technique. Should an individual not have surface walking active and is caught in the stream. Their strength stat must be higher than the power of the stream. (water jutsu used in the river increases the strength requirement by half the power of the jutsu.) should one lack the strength sta?? They will be swept downstream and removed from battle for 1 posting around. Which either they could return or escape.


*the  battlefield is 300 meter in all directions. With the river/kage statues as the center. Cliffs are 10 meters high. While the page statues stand up to 15 meters in height and boast health of 300. The river is 35 meters from bank to bank with a waterfall is 15 meters wide and 10 meters high. Borders of the battlefield prevent those that lack the events tags from entering. Manned by a barrier ops squad.*

So this was the end result of Yensung's planning. A three day long tournament to test the capabilities of Konoha's shinobi force. It was now a little more than a year since the Kiri vs Konoha tournament had taken place, the tournament where Kisuke had achieved the rank of Chuunin. Since then he had progressed very little due to the fact that he had taken nearly the entire year off, a sabbatical of sorts. But he was back with a vengeance now, determined to make of for the time he lost during his hiatus. However this tournament was not meant for him. It was an opportunity for Konoha to figure out where they stood in the food chain. A prime chance to assess their weakness and strengths in order to evaluate what needed to be worked on and what they were currently capable of. It was good to see the village taking charge after their disgraceful defeat at the hands of the mist.

As instructed, Kisuke made his way to the campsite assigned to his team, several hundred feet up in the air. He was to be the leader of his team in this tournament. It seemed the village was putting more and more faith in him, first having assigned him a Genin team and now making him the leader of his team in this village wide affair. He could not disappoint. This much responsibility was placed in his hands for a reason, because the village felt he could handle it and it was time to show them that their faith was not misplaced. 

The red headed Uchiha made it to the cave at the top of the mountain and casually entered, waiting for the rest of his team to arrive. With his crimson red hair tied back in a pony tail and donning his usual leather black jacket, white shirt, black cargo pants and black shin high boots, Kisuke made sure all his equipment was present before popping a fresh cigarette into his mouth and lighting the end of it.

It was a refreshing change of pace, this examination that Deputy Hokage Yensung Aburame had come up with. No doubt it was meant to truly test the worth and status of Konohagakure’s current shinobi force. A way to gauge everyone’s level of strength as well as quality of leadership traits and teamwork. Yea, Jason was pretty psyched to be a part of this test.

He had made his way up the mountain to the cave he was told his team were supposed to meet. It seemed like Rune and another redheaded male, who could only be Kisuke Uchiha, were already there waiting. So he was the third arrival and not the last at least. He would nod at the two and settle in on a nearby rock so he could look down the mountain and watch for the remaining members of the team.

Nekrun had just made it to the top of the mountain and made his way inside the cave. He had everything he needed with him, and wore his blue hair into a pony tail. He was glad he was not the last to be waited on, but noticed that he was close to it. Nekrun noticed three others of the team were there, Rune, Kisuke, and Jason. As he made his way in he noticed that Kisuke wore his hair in the same fashion. It seemed they were only waiting on the jounin which made him remember what it felt like waiting with the rest of his genin team for their jounin. Nekrun made his way to a empty spot in the cave and sat down, waiting for the final member to arrive.

Preparation were finally done for the exam Yensung had been planning for a while and informing Kinzoku on. Today was the day things got started, finally. These next few days were vital for the Nazar and Yensung. It would provide them with the perfect opportunity to gauge Konoha's fighting capabilities and see what needed improvement. The pressure was on for everyone. Hokage and Deputy Hokage alike. Even with Kinzoku's main priority to observe those both in his team and the other teams, the competitive side of him could not help but want to succeed during this exam.

His team's home base was the mountains, a perfect spot which Kinzoku believed to be the most advantageous of the three. He knew the advantages and disadvantages of all the areas, as per Yensungs reports on them. However that information would be kept from his team as revealing it would only make it that much easier for them to succeed. That would defeat the whole purpose of this exam, to push the Genin and Chuunin to their limits.

Kinzoku eventually made his way to the top of the mountain where the cave was located. Perfect. All four members of his team showed up before he did. With a cigar in his mouth, the Nazar stood at his full height, his large jacket flapping behind him from the wind like something out of a movie. He slowly made his way into the mouth of the cave safely away from the raging winds to his team. "Howdy y'all" he said, tipping the outer rim of his hat to greet Rune, Jason, Nekrun, and Kisuke all at once. Reaching into one of the inner pockets of his jacket, Kinzoku retrieved a stack of tags. He proceeded to handing each person the set of 3 tags belonging to them, each tag containing a value on them. "The value on the tags are the points the team gets for taking one of them. So place them wisely" he said briefly before placing his. Left shoulder, right thigh, back of his right shoulder. All within easy range for Kinzoku, yet far enough to make it difficult on the other teams.

Lastly, with Kinzoku having all his weapons and items on him and Peacemaker strapped to his back, he reached inside his jacket to his pouches resting on the back of his hip. Both hands came out holding a total of four kunai. He handed each one of his teammates a single kunai, a distinct seal placed on the handle of each one. "Keep them close to y'all. Use them only if I say so" he ordered. It would be very important that they listened to him for this as it may come in handy. "So... what's the plan, Cap?" he said with a grin as he looked over to Kisuke placing both his hands onto his belt, each hand resting on either side of his buckle.

With the arrival of the Hokage, Kisuke's entire team was here. Standing at the center of the cave, the young Uchiha would nod as the kage greeted them all. "Fucking hell, Im about to lead a team with the damn Kage in it." Thought the teen Uchiha to himself. If ever there was a time to step up to the plate, it was now. With the eyes of the village leader on him, Kisuke had to show that the village could trust in him to lead, that he could be relied on when called upon. Looking around with arms crossed, there were three other shinobi in his team, Genin presumably. One he recognized immediately. Jason Senju, the very same kid he fought alongside during the Kiri invasion. Kisuke was looking forward to the opportunity of fighting with him once more, this time in a less threatening situation. The other two Kisuke was unfamiliar, however that was not going to remain the case. If they were to work together, they were all going to have to get to know each other.

Taking the tags, Kisuke would put all three of them on the front of his body. Starting from his chest just bellow his neck, they would form a perfect line as the second one was placed just bellow on his sternum and the third on his stomach right over his bellybutton, all within range of his view. Next he would take Kinzoku's special kunai and slip it into the waist line of his black pants and not his weapon pouch in order to not mix it with his normal weaponry.

Positioning himself at the center of the cave, Kisuke would being. "Before we proceed I suggest we give a little introduction for those who dont already know each other so that we can get a little idea of who can do what but lets make it quick. Name's Kisuke Uchiha. Im going to be the Chuunin leader of this squad. I've learnt pretty much every Genjutsu there is to learn in this village and I know a few Ninjutsu to go along with that. I also possess a summoning contract for dragons that can come in handy."

Once the introductions were done, Kisuke would nod to his team before continuing on to what the game plan was. "Alright, listen up folks. Here's what I'm thinking we do." Kisuke would present his strategy to his teammates where they would then offer their own ideas and deliberate on the best course of action. Once done, Kisuke would exit the cave and lead his team to where the first battle of the tournament would take place.
