Enishi released a very overkill attack-- and while it didn't kil the guy, the sheer power it released quake the ground and air of the dimension they were in. Zeo guarded himself against the shockwave, bracing himself from the wave. Still he could see the enemy, still composed among the damage done. Zeo couldn't help but wonder after taking such a hit, was he real? He kept checking but there was no show he was under a genjutsu, or the others. Their chakra was undisturbed, or so what he could see.

What was this person? They were not human, as no human, regardless of the chakra could take on a hit like that. However-- the attack was strong enough to do something....

The mask he wore cracked, falling into pieces.

"Now's our chance!!" Rin shouted as she charged forward. With her talismans floating around her, she ran forward.

Zachary's eyes widened, seeing the impulsive girl charge ahead. "NO-DON'T! You don't know what your charging into!!" He tried to stop her, but she was too quick as she jumped through the smoke.

Throwing her talismans, she slapped them to the ground, trying to contain the mysterious man, who seemed unstoppable. The array was set- as she was overhead of him, with a final seal in her hand, prepared to slap it down. "You're mine you son of a---"

It was in that moment she gasped, and her body went still, cold to what she saw. With the mask off-- she saw the face of a man. To Zeo, he could see it now too. The man was an older gentleman, with black hair and a goatee of a beard, sharp at the end. Minor wrinkles on his face-- but noticable most of all, his skin was a pale blue. As one who had been dead for a long time... and his eyes, black and wide open. Unblinking. The view was horrifying....

... but for RIn, her face was pure shock, seeing more in than just a scary face. She refused to move as she landed, her eyes wide in shock. "Wh...what.... no... "

It was all she got. In that precious moment of pause, the man lunged his arm forward, grabbing her by the neck. She gasped for breath, unable to breathe as he began to close his grip, suffocating her. She grabbed for his arm, tears in her eyes as she looked at the man's face-- almost pleading. Something was wrong. Why did she not fight back? IT was not like the girl they met just moments ago!

Unwilling to wait-- Zeo moved in! While Enishi was recovering Zachary reached and grabbed a hold of Rin to pull her away.

It was then in that instant, his mind pulsed with a growing headache and his mind began to fade. His Uchugan eyes pulsed-- as he tried to fight the incoming sensation of his loss of reality. "No.... not now...!" he groaned but soon all went white as he was asaulted by the vision...

Zeo soon came to standing among a burning building. That brought up bad memories-- of the night he too lost his parents as the fire and bandit attacks killed them. He stood in what was likely a shrine, with ornaments and holy icons and scrolls all over the place, including the remains of a shrine. Or what was left as a good part was in flames.  Zeo stood there, observing the clear destruction aftermath. However, what drew his attention, was the people in front of him.

Among the chaos of the burning building, a little girl knelt before a man. The man was on his back, motionless, The girl sobbed, clinging to his clothing with tight small hands. The girl, with black hair sobbed, trying to get him to move.

Zeo looked to the man-- he was similar. IN fact he soon recognized the man. He had the same facial features of the man who grabbed RIn. His skin tone was still normal-- but one key detail stood out. Streaks of blood stained his skin from his eyes...

His eyes had been gouged out! He clearly was in fatal condition, nearing death.

The girl cried, trying to rouse the man. "Father! FATHER, Please get up! " she begged.

Zeo looked, seeing the young face of the girl-- it was RIn, but as a child. No older than perhaps 6 years.

The scene hurt Zeo's heart as he lowered his gaze. It was clear now... however it happened... Rin's father was dead. And the person they fought was clearly not alive. A reanimated corpse. A puppet. And clearly not among the living. Of course she flinched in that moment.

However the fire crackled and he noticed something else. Standing before Rin and her dying father-- a third figure existed. Bathed in the flames, his form was unseeable. Zeo looked to see two key things. Among the shrine, a burning tapistry showed a familiar symbol. A sign of a shinto gate. A gate-- similar to the one on Zeo's back. His family symbol!

And second, the stranger looked viciously back as Rin looked to it too--

Seeing the starry gaze of his eyes that cut through the flames. The Uchugan!

Zeo's own eyes widened in surprise as he witnessed the vision, showing more insight to what happened-- but no more than he saw it, his sense of reality blurred again. The vision soon tore from him as he felt himself thrown from the burning building, and thrust back to reality. ...

Time resumed with a blink of his eyes. He was back, Rin still choaking and his hand still on her arm to try to pull her away. He understood now, and knew what this person was.

"Enough!!" Zeo said as he held Rin with one hand, and with his other-- reached for the sword on his back!

With a spin around her and draw, Zeo drew his sword down on the man's exposed arm, slashing it with all his might! As he did, water gathered at the tip, adding to its force as he slashed cleanly through the limb, seperating Rin from the reanimated corpse of her father...

In that moment, Zeo grabbed Rin and jumped back, retreating to where Enishi was. With the limb free-- it began to crumble, turning into odd things like dried leaves and ash-- the grip clearly now slack. He tore it free from RIn's neck-- and Rin gave a labored gasp of air, coughing as she recovered. "You okay?" he asked firmly.

It was clear they were in trouble-- but now they knew. They might as well been in the land of the death... for their own enemies were not among the living...
