Lumber (P) (Mission)

Lumber

Yoi stood at the mission board. There actually weren't too many E-rank missions left anymore. It was a shame. He would actually have to work hard on a mission. Such a crisis! This was all thought with sarcasm in mind. Well, at least he would get stronger as a shinobi.

Yoi picked one off the board and read what he had to do.

“The village needs you to go out into the forest and collect some lumber for the village, get a decent amount, but do not destroy the village surroundings.”

This didn’t seem that it would be too hard. After all, Yoi did have some experience with splitting wood. But he had heard cutting down trees was a lot harder than simply splitting wood.

Yoi started to walk towards the forest and to where the lumberjack office was. It was a cloudless, sunny day. To most, it would have been beautiful, but to a Yuki like himself, he would have preferred it to be stormy and rainy. But alas, the weather was never perfect for anyone.

As Yoi arrived at his destination, he saw a man inside looking through some paperwork, and he heard a lot of lumberjacks throughout the forest. 

He entered the office and said, “Hello, the village said you guys needed help, so here I am.”


“Oh yes, the aid we requested. We’ve had to work harder since part of the Uchiha District burnt down. Well, there’s an axe outside and there are trees outside so I think I can leave the rest to you.”


“Okay, thank you sir!” Yoi walked out, picked up an axe and found a nice tree to start with. He thought about how we would cut it down. When he would split wood, he put his right, dominant, hand at the base and as he swung it over his head, his left hand slid down the handle until it met his right hand. Yoi’s father had drilled that into him with HOURS of practice. Yoi did what he normally would except he swung the axe side ways. With all the practice he had was pretty accurate. However Yoi lacked the strength and the power, however he had the technique. 

After a few hours and around 10 trees, Yoi sat down to take a break. All he could hear in his head was the axe hitting the wood of the trees. Damn this work was hard. Yoi thought of ways to quicken the process. He had been trying to make weapons out of Ice Release the other day, but he hadn’t gotten too far. He knew those weapons were probably sharper than his katana. Yoi picked up the axe again and got back to work. He would have to skip lunch today, but if he could complete a mission, it was well worth it. After a few more hours, Yoi’s job was done and he picked up his ryo. As he arrived at his house, he heard his fathers voice from the inside. He was back!
