Learning Surface walking jutsu Empty Learning Surface walking jutsu

Tue Feb 07, 2017 3:08 pm
Hikaru sat on a building overlooking Kirigakure. He had the kind of boredom that refused to go away. He tried his normal boredom killer of training but he was still recovering from pushing himself to far the other day. He had an itch to go explore beyond the village walls or hurt something, but his instincts told him not to. He looked down at all small villagers beneath him. He mused over how easy it would be to jump down and kill one of them, once again he instinctively squashed the thought. He was not powerful enough to deal with any of the Anbu that the Mizukage would send, yet.

He stood up and breathed a lung-full of the crisp evening air. He sighed, once again academy was boring. They weren't teaching him anything useful, only the theory of chakra and the moral's of being a ninja and what-not. But on the rare occasion where they did learn something useful he just went on auto mode and tuned out the entire lesson. However, he had learnt clone jutsu without any help, solidifying his theory that friends only slow you down.

He began to run among the rooftops, drawing quite a few surprised looks from the civilians. He did this for a few moments before coming to a stop. He scowled at the fact that he was already breathing hard. He prepared to jump to the the neighbouring building as he bent his legs and readied his arms. He jumped. For a few moments he graciously soared through the sky before coming to a bad landing. As he landed, on instinct, he forced chakra to his feet to try and steady himself, he stuck to the ground momentarily before falling and sprawling out onto the floor.

He got back up and scowled, brushing himself down. He thought back to what happened and realised he had used his chakra to try and stabilise himself. He hadn't thought about it or anything, it just happened. He realised this was the first steps to learning the surface walker he had seen other ninjas do. He smirked, his previous failure forgotten. He began to run towards his "Training grounds" to practice the surface walker technique. As he ran he knew that his body couldn't take much more than walking on the tree's.

After about five minutes he finally arrived in the clearing and immediately sat down and pondered how to practice without gravely injuring himself. Eventually he came up with an idea and went to lay down with his feet touching a tree. He focused chakra to his feet until he could feel them being glued to the tree, he moved his other foot upwards and did the same. He continued doing this until he was about five feet in the air. He was so concentrated on the task that he completely blocked our the outside world. He began to sweat with nerves as he got higher and higher. Suddenly, he heard a twig snap behind him, breaking his concentration he fell to the ground.

On the floor he groaned, and despite his bodies protests he got back up again. He looked around and saw a bird. sitting on the tree branch, staring at him. He looked at the bird, a sadistic smile crept across his face. He quickly took out his recently bought kunai and through it towards the bird. The bird screeched in panic before a kunai sliced cleanly between the birds eyes. It fell to the floor with a thump. Hikaru quickly took out his kunai and cleaned it .He looked around him and realised that it was late and he should probably head back to the orphanage. Sighing he began his journey back

After the academy the next day he quickly ran to his training grounds and started getting ready to train. After the nights rest he felt back up to 100% He ran up to the tree and stepped onto it. His feet connected and he quickly supplied chakra to them to get a better grip. He felt his feet slipping but he just kept on supplying chakra to his feet until he felt secure. He breathed a sigh of relief and began to walk slowly up the tree. He fell down about 4 times before he finally reached the top. He still couldn't run up the tree though.

He walked up to the tree. He decided he wanted to learn how to run up the tree's. He braced himself and took off. He jumped onto the tree and began to run. He was struggling to keep track of the chakra and run at the same time. He missed a step and began plummeting back to the ground. As he landed he tucked himself into a ball and rolled to a stop. He looked at the tree before trying again. This time he got a little further.

Over the next couple  of hours he kept running up the tree, getting closer and closer to the top each time. Until he finally made it to the top. He collapsed onto the ground a satisfied smirk on his face. He had done it.

Altar awoke in his bed with a jolt. Someone, somewhere, had thought ill of the Kirigakure ANBU. Quickly getting out of bed, Altar would make his way outside, scrambling to find the disturbance.

Of course, this was all on a gut feeling. He had no legitimate way of knowing if anyone had thought ill of anyone else. But Altar's gut had never been wrong before, damnit, and today was not a day for firsts. Or maybe it was. He was feeling particularly violent today.

After combing the village for a solid two hours, the young ANBU found himself at the back of a youngling. The youth had a particularly nasty aura, dictating that he wished ill will on the others of Kirigakure. He could be a threat. He could be planning a terrorist attack on Kirigakure as he sat there, overlooking it's citizens. Or he could've been a normal kid.

But Altar couldn't take that risk.

Having been quiet as a mouse his whole adventure up the building he was on, Altar cloaked his chakra and snuck up behind the youth, preparing himself. The boy would have no clue what was about to happen. After reaching just behind the boy, Altar would place his foot on his back and shove, hard and quick. The result would be the boy falling a long way to the pavement below, most likely shattering every bone in his body on impact, becoming little more than a puddle. Death would be instantaneous.

Or it would have been, if Altar hadn't grabbed the boy before he actually fell from the roof.

Aftar grabbing the boy in mid air, Altar would haul him back to the roof, slapping a note to the boy's chest and giving him a firm knee to the gut, holding back his power to not bisect the boy or eviscerate his entrails, before making his leave of the rooftop, leaving the boy to continue his daily events.

The contents of the note, of course, were cryptic. A bloody handprint, put above the words 'We know'.

After leaving, Altar would run back home and return to bed, pleased with his work for the day.

~Exit, intervening the beginning, leaving so afterevents still happen.~

Learning Surface walking jutsu Empty Re: Learning Surface walking jutsu

As he laid in his bed at the orphanage a cold fear spread through his body. While he had managed to learn surface walker jutsu, something terrifying had shadowed his sense of smug accomplishment. He had been reminded of the power gap between him and the village ninja, and he didn't like it one bit.

He brought the note up to his face and studied it closer. The words "We Know" etched firmly into the core of his being. While he had a certain level of hate towards the blur that attacked him, he had the same level of respect. All it had taken him was one stray thought and the ninja had known and hunted him down.

Despite the fear and hate it still filled him with excitement, that was the level he was going to achieve. Hikaru desperately wanted to ask the ninja what hardships the ninja had to endure. Hikaru knew that suffering was the key to becoming stronger, not friends or teachers.

Hikaru smiled to himself, previous fears forgotten. He was going to get stronger through suffering and difficulty.
