Summoning jutsu! Sho, the winged lion! Empty Summoning jutsu! Sho, the winged lion!

Tue Sep 15, 2015 12:25 am
Kosuke awoke with a start, immediately scanning his room. Now, why you may ask was a ninja scanning his room at 4:00 in the morning? Well, it was due to hearing a loud sound in his room. His now golden eyes scanning the almost pitch-black room as though the sun were out. He then saw the noise maker. His eye twitched as he saw a fuzzy, dark orange alley cat had somehow broken into his apartment and had his hitai-ite firmly held in its jaws. “Give that back you bastard.” Moaned a still tired Kosuke as the cat jumped out of his window and onto the street outside. He immediately threw on his cloak and gave chase. He chased the stupid cat all the way to the training grounds before it finally dropped his headband and scurried off.
“Well, since I’m already here I might as well start training.” Kosuke said with a sigh. He began to do his usual warm up and followed that by a sprint around the training field for 100 laps. Once he finished that he took a short break and sat down I the lotus position to meditate. He began to focus on the chakra flowing through his body, allowing it to flow to every crevice and controlling it to go to where he would will it to go. As he worked on moving his chakra he was broken from his meditation by a loud cry from the surrounding forest. He immediately took off into the direction of the sound. He ran into the extremely tall trees and jumped into the branches so that he could travel faster.
He heard the sound again, closer this time. It sounded like some small wounded animal from this distance. He kept leaping from branch to branch wind fluttering through his messy black mane. He finally heard the sound again and this time it was right under him. As he fell from the tree to land sure footed on the forest floor he looked around and saw a cave. It looked to be made of some form of granite. It was covered in moss and had some vines growing around the entrance. The sound was coming from this cave though. As he traveled inside he was forced to activate his Golden eye to see in the pitch black environment. He head almost walked into a pit that even he couldn’t see the bottom of.
He heard the cry again but it was bounding off the walls and he couldn’t pin point it. Suddenly, a flurry of bats flew past him, seemingly awoken by the noise. He continued his trek deeper and deeper into the cave. Stalagmites and stalactites all around he finally noticed a door at the far wall of one of the tunnels he travelled down. He thought this to be strange as one does not usually find a door in a cave. It looked to be very old and worn but just as strong as it was when first put in. He walked up to it and noticed there was a seal on it. He tried to pump chakra into it but nothing happened so he thought back to his studies of seals and their dynamics. This must be a blood seal, so he bit his thumb drawing the slightest amount of blood smearing it onto the seal. Suddenly he heard a soft whispering voice tickle his ear coming from the seal. “Voiceless it cries, Wingless flutters, Toothless bites, Mouthless mutters.” This caused him to go on alert. He looked around and after finding nothing out of order he began to think of what the voice had said.
The answer was not coming easily to Kosuke. He was having a hard time, he never was too great at riddles. But, he knew that this riddle would open the door so he began to ponder. After a couple minutes he decided to give it a shot. “The answer is wind.” Kosuke said in a confident voice. After a quick click the door creaked open to reveal a room lit by torches for who knows how long. The room was nothing special in itself as the only thing in it was a single rock right in its center. Upon closer examination, Kosuke noticed a scroll lodged inside the rock. He decided to go look at it and see what the use of locking it away was. He touched it and immediately shot back as a poof of smoke appeared, and out of it stepped a medium sized grey lion with white feathery wings. It looked to be around 4 meters long and sitting was 3 meters tall. Its wings seemed to be five meters long each giving it a wingspan of approximately 10 meters. Its eyes stood out the most to Kosuke. Compared to its white almost grey fur its black sclera and glowing yellow iris made the Golden eye look slightly dim. As it opened its mouth it showed rows of long sharp teeth that looked to be made for the rending of flesh.
“I am Kaze, you are the first in centuries to find this place.” The lion spoke in a deep rumbling baritone. Kosuke was shocked, one, he had never seen a lion in his life, and two, this one apparently talked. “Where am I?” Kosuke asked I a bit of an awed and confused tone. “The hiding place for the contract of the winged lions.” Kaze replied heartily. “If you wish to sign our contract you must first pass a test to show you courage and determination.” The lion would continue. Kosuke couldn’t believe his luck. He had stumbled across a summoning contract and had the opportunity to gain a summons. “What must I do Kaze-sama?” Kosuke asked in a respectful tone.
“You must find a rare flower that grows just outside of the cave. This flower is extremely fragile and could break if you were to handle it with anything less than maximum caution. If you are able to find the flower and return it here in one piece then you shall be allowed to sign the contract.” Kaze explained in his deep gravelly voice. “Okay! I’ll be back before you know it!” Kosuke said determination burning in his dark eyes like a raging wildfire. Kosuke then raced out of the cave as fast as he could he knew that he had to find a way to protect the flower once he found it from being broken. Apparently even the slightest wind will make it impure.
As he made it out of the cave he looked around and could not find the flower. He looked near trees, near other flowers and even under rocks and logs. He couldn’t seem to pin point this rare flower. That is until he noticed a slight shift in the wind every now and again. He decided to follow his gut and follow where the wind seemed to be leading him. Finally he came to a large mountain, very uncharacteristic for Konoha but not unheard of on the borders of Konoha and Rice Country. He began to climb the mountain at a fast pace until his feet hit snow and he saw it, growing out of one of the snowy rocks was a bright red flower with some yellow petals here and there. He tentatively walked over to it and noticed, it was frozen solid. “That must be what he meant when he said it would break.” Kosuke realized. The flower was literally frozen solid so if he dropped it, it would shatter. So how to make it back to the cave without dropping the flower? Then it hit him! He formed the familiar cross seal and pop! A clone was by his side with instructions to keep the flower from harm.
Kosuke began the long careful trek down the side of the mountain. He had been careful so far until he slipped on some ice and began to fall only to be caught by the clone, saving the flower. He then made sure to watch where he was stepping. By the time he had made it to the bottom of the mountain it appeared that his black hair was white due to the snow and frost build up but he had made it to the bottom! He began to move at a faster pace now that he had gotten back to the forests he was familiar with. As he ran he made sure that the flower stayed totally safe wrapped in his cloak. He didn’t know what kind of ice had this flower frozen but it wasn’t even beginning to melt. He stepped into the cave and was immediately relieved. As he made his way back into the room in the far back tunnel of the cave he found Kaze the scroll guardian there waiting for him. “Ah, you have returned and I see you have the flower.” Kaze said as he stretched and lumbered his way over to Kosuke. It took the flower in its jaws and set it onto the stone near the scroll and the stone seemed to freeze before it broke in half revealing a larger scroll with golden trim and black paper. Kosuke unrolled it and signed his name in blood at the top of the scroll.
“Preform these hand seals and then place your palm on the ground and put in as much chakra as you can manage and you will summon your personal summon.” Kaze said as he pointed to the sequence of hand seals shown on the wall, Boar, Dog, Bird, Monkey and Ram. As Kosuke performed the seals and smeared blood on all his fingers placed his hand on the ground he pumped as much chakra as he could manage into the technique and after a sudden burst of smoke another lion appeared. This one much more impressive in size than Kaze. It was standing at 6 feet tall. It looked to weigh in at around 300 to 400 lbs. and had a wingspan of at least 12 feet. Kosuke looked at its dare golden, almost bronze fur and the dark red fur that connected to the feathers of the same color on its wings. It looked to Kosuke with the same eyes as Kaze and spoke.
“I am Sho. Lion of the south wind. I look forward to working with you more in the future, Kosuke Akari.” It had a deep, regal voice and seemed almost disinterested. But Kosuke could still sense the happiness at finally being summoned in the lions tone. As quickly as it came it dismissed itself and left Kosuke alone with Kaze again. “I must take the scroll back to our land. I am glad it was you who found it young one. May our fight together be long and prosperous.” Kaze intoned before he took the scroll in his mighty jaws and he too was gone in a blast of smoke. Kosuke began to walk home mind numb at having realized just how amazing this really was. He, of all people had just gotten a kick ass contract with some winged lions! He had a skip in his step as he entered his apartment for the first time in weeks without a bit of sweat on his person and not ready to drop onto the bed immediately. So he cooked himself some ramen and ate in peace before having some herbal tea while he meditated on the events of the day. He had an ally now, a friend to aid him in battle, a precious person (lion) to protect with his life.

He decided then and there that he would do everything in his power to become a summoner that the winged lion clan could respect and would willingly come to aid him in battle when he needed them. After making his mid up and doing some nightly exorcizes like push-ups and sit ups he laid down in his bed exited to train more with his new contract tomorrow. His mind went blank as  it was overtaken with sleep.
