Lightning Training Empty Lightning Training

Wed Dec 10, 2014 4:46 pm
Coco crouched down, making sure her ankle weights were securely in place. She relatched them once for good measure, and stood back to her full height. Underneath the terrace of a defunct skyscraper, she had her umbrella unfolded for once. A seldom seen sight in her town. She'd always been known for that umbrellas. she still had the thing hefted over her shoulder. She felt it's new weight pushing her down into the ground. It wasn't terribly heavy but her recent modifications did leave it quite a bit heavier than just a few pieces of wood, and plastic. It did have a sword sheathed in it now after all.

She took care to make sure that all of her gear was neatly secured with in her voluminous outfit. Knifes, explosives, wire and all perfectly secured. Good she didn't want to have to keep picking stuff out which had fallen out of her outfit. Or you know, being stabbed by it whilst running. That's probably be worse. Far worse.

Once she was safe in the knowledge that this training session wasn't going to turn into an acupuncture appointment she set forth into the sky scraper. The lobby of the old skyscraper was sparkly decorated with old and rotting furniture. A once shallow kyo pond now was filled to the brim and overflowed, leaving the grey tiles hidden beneath a thin layer of water. She sloshed through the rotting lobby. Many of the buildings is Amegakure were like this. It was incredibly sad. However with the village restoration soon to come, this place would be fixed up eventually, it and all of the other towers too. Not only that but they'd be filled with people to. People working, and having fun. Blissfully unaware about how bad the city once was.

Of course that would mean that Coco would have to find a different place to start training. Bleck. That means she'd actually have to travel outside of her hometown to train. Yikes, now wasn't that a scary thought? She shrugged that off, that wasn't going to be for a While. So for now she was had the run of the place. Speaking of run.

After traipsing her moist lobby Coco finally came to her target. The stair well. A spiraled thirty story flight of stairs that shot straight to the top! Well it a round about way. Coco craned her head up to the top of the stairwell. "Ah butts." The noise echoed for miles, as it bounced, and bounced, and bounced up the stairwell. It even took a while for the sound to get up there. "Dang. It'd be really embarrassing if I chickened out of this." She sighed. Li Dian would never let her live it down if she ran off now. "Alright, Alright." She lifted up her heavy feet upon the first step. "The journey of a thousands miles starts with a single step."

She quickly picked up speed and began scaling up the long flights of steps. The ankle weights were pretty heavy, and she'd stumbled more than once with them weighing her down. She pressed on though, it wouldn't have been very good training if it wasn't hard. Doubly so if she just gave up the first time she stumbled. She pressed on with all of her might. Trying to lift her knees as high as she could with each step.

Many of the steps of the building where broken, or cracked. The moment she'd place her full weight down on one of these steps it crumble beneath her, and attempt to sending her tumbling down. It'd happned more than once, and Coco was suddenly becoming very cautions of where she stepped. All her previous training had managed to give her pretty good insight thought, and she was able to jump to the next step before any real harm befell her.

What really caused her a lot of trouble was how slick the steps where. Years of trickling rain had managed to coat the stairs in a nice slimy film of fermented water. She took care to only place her feet upon the dry parts of the steps, but sometimes it just couldnt' be avoided. She place her foot upon the steps and her foot would go sliding out from under her. Sometimes she'd catch herself, but others she'd go tumbling towards the ground. Embarrassed beyond all reckoning.

Even that wasn't so bad. The real death trap of the situation was when there was a broken step, followed immediately by a water covered step. She'd lead from the broken step onto the slick step, and before she knew what was happening she'd be tumbling down the stars bruising every part of her body along the way. It wasn't very pleasant, and honestly it felt like a cheap shot by the building. Luckily those little traps were few and far between.
"This was such a bad idea." Coco huffed, pulling her legs ever upward. "Good grief." Okay running up the height of a skyscraper was a bad idea. She'll admit, her bad. Now the idea to strack some weights to her legs, and just give it a whirl? Well that was just dumb. Plain and simple lack of smarts, and on that Coco could only blame her genetics. Her legs pulsed her muscles straighed to even lift her feet up of the ground. By the time she neared the top she wasn't really running anymore. It was more of a slow and horrible slug like motion of the limbs. Her arms weren't in terribly condition, but lord all mighty her legs were about to go on nuclear melt down. "Only a hundred more steps." She wheezed. Her lungs were absolutely burning. She'd been determined to run up the entire lengths of the building. Been being the key word. That was before she discovered that the building was literally trying to kill her. She wasn't confident if she hadn't fallen all of those times. We all know she was pretty vague on how many times she slipped down the steps. Suffice it to say that it was enough to refer to them all as "All those times." Implying that their amount was copious. Under her heavy clothing Coco carried plenty of bruises to prove it too.
moist Amegakure air in like it was her first time. She let if flow throughout her body before exhaling. Good greif air tasted good. Especially when you'd only breathed in stanky stairwell air for who knows how long.

Her air starved eyes peered up at the sky. She immediately regretted it because of course the rain of Amegakure splattered right into her eye forcing it shut. Couldn't that big grey thing be proud of her just once. It was literally always raining on her parade. Literally. She blew a raspberry at the sky. "Whatever I did it!" The clouds were going from a grey to black. She heard thunder on the horizon. She wasn't worried that the sky was mad at her, just worried that she'd be trapped up here if it stormed. It was a good possibility because Coco wasn't sure if she could feel her legs. She didn't even consider that she'd have to walk back down those steps. "I should just throw myself off." She concluded with a giggle, half delirious. Her muscles were greedily sucking up all of her air, and she wasn't sure if her brain was getting in on the action or not.

"All right up we go." She managed to get herself onto her feet. Her aching, aching feet. A nice hot bubble bath was going to do her some good when she finally got home. Ah butts! Not only did she have to climb back down the steps, but she had to walk home as well! Was there no end to this hell?

She took a moment to turn away from her whining and noticed how far up she was. This tower in particular looked over a good portion of Amegakure. If there wasn't another tower in the way she'd be able to see her house from here. Dang, she'd climbed a long way. A long way with a lot of weight added on to her. That was pretty darn impressive actually. She was a radical chick! She could see all way to the jungle from here, even thorugh the rain. "This is so cool." she whispered feeling to cool rain on her body. "Alright!" She leapt into the air, letting her excitement get the better of her. She pumped her fist into the air and let out a whoop!

Naturally when she threw her fist up a bolt of lighting came flying down through the clouds. Her body screamed as it felt the volatage, as well as ampage surging through her. Her muscles contracted. She felt like she was on fire, and it felt like it lasted forever. Not to mention that the thunder it created left her ears ringing for a long long time.

Her stood frozen, her smoldering first still stuck up into the air. Her long hair stood on end giving her the looked of the prickliest porcupine on the world. She breathed out a puff of smoke, and shifted nervously in her melted rain boots. "Oh my." She coughed, looking around. "I should probably get down from here now.
It smelled weird.

Of course as soon as she thought that a second bolt of lighting came surging through her, knocking her to the edge of the building. "Owy." Another puff of smoke came out of her mouth. Her tounge kind of tasted like aluminum now. As her brains sat there smoking inside her head, she wonder what the odds of being struck by lighting twice in the same day were. Maybe she'd buy a lotto ticket after this. Another bolt of lightning stuck nearby. She'd think about that after she was off of this god forsaken hellscape of a roof.

She stood to her feet. Her legs didn't feel so bad now. It wasn't that they didnt' hurt anymore it was just that her whole body hurt now so it wasn't so bad. Was it possible for hair to hurt? Because her's sure did. She shrugged the thought away. Again let's try to get out alive. She took a step forward, again a bolt of lightning stuck just inches away from her foot! "What's happening." She jumped back, her tushy pressed against the railing of the roof. "Better not touch this metal railing or else it'll shock me." She let out a cute little giggle. She patted the railing with a friendly hand. Of course it wouldn't be a Coco adventure if a bolt of lightning didn't strike that too, giving her a jolt that knocked her in the air.

"WHYYYYY?" She shouted to the heavens. Another bold came down upon the bulding in response. "Okay I'm out!"

At top speed she threw herself over the edge of the building and let herself fall towards the ground. Now don't worry she didn't find falling to her death any better than whatever the Butts was going on up there. She grabbed ahold of her umbrella, and flapped up open. Using some choice Chakra infusion the canopy of her umbrella grew turgid, and caught the wind underneath her. Slowing her fall into a gentle decent. She would now safely come to a stop at the ground, and everything would be fine. "I'm so cool."
Another bolt of lightning fell upon her, and another, and another all the way down to the ground.  "I'm sorry I didn't mean that!" She held her umbrella tightly to her body as she descended. She wasn't sure if she was more scared or angry at what was happening. If she hadn't been so confused she was sure she'd be able to figure it out.

Once her dainty foot touched the ground, she tossed her umbrella to the ground, hoping that the lighting would follow.

She seemed to be low enough to the ground that the lighting couldn't touch her. She looked up at the sky, and indeed lightning was careening into up ahead light posts, and the sides of the building. "Geez what's going on?" She felt a slight shock in her palms. She looked down to her hands, and to her surprise saw little arcs of electricity flying around her hands. "Lightning?" She whispered marveling at her arms.
