Mission: Patrol the Wall

Wall patrol duty. Well, someone had to do it, and now it was Masaru’s turn. The instructions and the mission were simple. Simply start at the village gates and then scout alongside the wall until there the wall stops, and then continue back to the gate, making sure that there was nothing irregular. Masaru deadly hoped not that nothing out of the ordinary would happen, as he was a lone genin, and anyone attacking Konoha would most likely be able to take care of him without much trouble. But duty was duty, and he would hopefully be able to alert the village if anything were to happen. Well, he might be able to do so. His plan for that was nothing more than a simple explosive tag and a kunai at the moment, but that would have to do.

Masaru could not help but sigh a bit, as he walked through the gates of Konoha, preparing to run alongside the wall for who knows how long. If he had been on a team, this would not have been so bad, as they would be able to chat a bit, making the time pass like that. However, he was doing the route all by himself. “Looks like the only company that I have will be me, myself, my ego and I.” Masaru said with another sigh, as he began running alongside the wall. He did not even have his puppet, whatever doubtful company it might provide, at the moment, since it was currently in a state of disrepair.

He could probably repair it with the funds that he had available to him at the moment, but he had some improvements in mind that was going to cost some more, so for now he would be doing missions with nothing but the standard genin set of techniques, although he had used those to great effect in the past. Well, Masaru thought as he ran alongside the village wall, a puppet would not really make any difference if he encountered enemy ninja, so it did not matter that much. Fortunately, it turned out that he did not even need his genin techniques on the way to the end of the wall. Nothing had happened, just as Masaru had both suspected and hoped. Well, part of him was a bit disappointed with the fact, the part that was annoyed due to the inaction. Neither the way back to the village gates had anything happen, so it was all in all a pretty uneventful trip.
