Smells like Christmas Spirit Empty Smells like Christmas Spirit

This morning, the young ninja wanted to focus on working on his perception skills. He took an initial look around to observe his surroundings. Given that it was soon before dawn, there was still some light being given to the scenery, but due to the cluster of trees, it was difficult nonetheless. The tree branches were moving due to the breeze blowing east, very few leaves were dropping.

He needed a target. Something then made a sound, a faint hoot. An owl, one of his favorite animals. Zunair made the hand signs and activated his Byakugan, then he immediately made his gaze telescopic and zoomed the area around for the owl. Which he found immediately to his annoyance because he thought he would be harder than that.

Zunair began to think about what he should do next, well, the art of Ninjutsu was something the Hyuuga clan had not been excelling at for as long as Zunair could remember, only really relying on taijutsu being specifically well versed in the use of the gentle fist style. Their use of gentle fist style was so well known that even other villages know it for its prowess. While Zunair often relied more on the use of his gentle fist style and cunning and trickery, he wanted to learn more about medical ninjutsu.

Shaking his head, he decided to start heading inside, he saw his father standing in their kitchen, so Zunair walked over and poured himself some hot tea. Looking to the steaming cup silently, he’d watch the steamroll up in light wisps of vapor and curl about while she thought about her life. There had been much that had changed. Once the happy child that would find any time to get out of the compound and read in the forest or even play with her friends, now he had barely spent time outside of training and had almost become reclusive. Zunair didn’t believe that he had to be a hermit because he was hardly in the house. However, the social interaction of people was something that had almost become foreign to him with the constant work.

Day 2

It was a beautiful day outside. The birds were singing, the sun was shining, and Zunair didn't give a damn. He was too busy with a corpse. Some job, eh? Zunair put his hands down onto the table; his gloves stuck to the cold surface as he tapped his fingers to the beat of the song playing from an office across the hall. The morgue was an uncommonly quiet place and so the usually annoying shoujo anime openings were rather pleasant from the unseen radio as he looked down into the chest cavity of the woman from room 103; an oddity to see and feel something so cold while his own was functioning.

Zunair had been filling in for the pathologist as he had been away because Anima suggested he did the job to help in some of his medical training. He then rolled his eyes at himself as his thumb pinched a small hole in the woman's lung, "shit."

The part he disliked the most about working in the morgue was the moment before deciding if he needed to open the person up if their death was suspicious, or straightforward. Then of course if he did, he'd have to put them all back- the organs. Honestly, Zunair didn't know why people didn't sign themselves up for being a donor, or why families even wanted to bury their loved ones with everything intact. Zunair knew what happened to bodies that were buried: nothing. The bodies took up space in the earth that people didn't even have the decency to think about, purely because they wanted to stand above something, not just see a grave.

The music suddenly stopped; Zunair’s hands froze as he placed the last organ into the body, enclosed in a bag to prevent leakage. The Hyuuga then removed his hands and gazed down, like an artist looking curiously at their canvas: would he find himself on a table like this? No, of course not- he wouldn't be there, but would he die of mysterious causes?

Day 3

Zunair trembled in place as he underwent his training, which his father had made torturously difficult to ensure that as much as he broke with their traditions that he would not embarrass them publicly. The Hyuuga was heralded as one of if not the greatest clan in all of the shinobi nations and the weight of that was nothing short of crushing. In theory, the training was simple, all he had to do was to maintain his Byakugan perfectly at full potency while simultaneously using Genjutsu upon his own father who was personally instructing him, Hoshi Hyuga. Specifically, he was attempting to affect him with the Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death technique, a very powerful Genjutsu that by itself required most of his focus to even attempt. At the same time, he was required to divert his focus with the Byakugan, to scan his surroundings and pay attention to his periphery, to note the potent chakra of his target and use that knowledge to enhance his Genjutsu. Zunair's Chakra Control was, for a Genin, simply superb, and his Chakra reserve as a whole was not bad by any means, but even so, it strained him to the breaking point to attempt this. On the contrary, genjutsu was never his strong suit. So, he figured with training, he could at least learn to come to deal with it. Trying to cover any weak bases he had.

In the end, though he had exhausted himself until he lay quivering on the floor, he was unable to accomplish it in the end. But according to his father, he'd still made excellent progress. "Well done, for a moment I saw the ground move with vines and roots underneath me rushed up to envelop me so the illusion on its own was potent but it lacked the necessary force to restrain me. I believe you will succeed in this before the deadline set by my sister, don't worry my boy." Hoshi smiled at his son and ruffled his hair before heading inside.

Smells like Christmas Spirit Empty Re: Smells like Christmas Spirit

The rain continued to fall deeply as he continued to walk round and round the village, his deep mint-like eyes leered through the hood for a moment as he sat on a ten-meter statue that sat somewhere between the living quarters and the residential district where the people of the village worked and did whatever else they did. He sat there with his right hand slowly resting on his right knee, watching some of the citizens walk around and chatter and only some had seen him sitting and of course, the people shrugged and continued walking.

After a while of sitting up there and getting a good view of the village, he would jump off and continue to walk around," Sector one checks out alright....no further disturbances in the flow of chakra here," pulling the hood lower upon his face he would begin to walk off. The rain merely drizzled beside him as he smiled and kept his pace slow as he made sure that everything was in order less...he would have to chop some people down to size. For now, he would simply maintain to himself as he stopped for a moment as something caught his eye and he eagerly went to reach for it. It was sitting in a lowly alleyway and it had been here for at least a couple of days. A small little black cat and in this one instance, he felt a fatherly instinct came over him as he took the kitten and sat it inside of his zipped up hoody," You are going to become my little evil assistant and...if you do something stupid I am going to kill you," grinning he would begin to walk off and return to his rounds.
