A Most Devious Plan [I/O]

It seemed like the Doctor had accepted his arrangement, as he simply followed him without talking too much towards their destination. The man seemed a bit more enthusiastic about this one, and it seemed that he was happier or excited to do this one, and Grey must admit, it was actually really fun to see the destruction of things, as long as no one important was hurt in the process. Grey didn’t really care if people got hurt normally, but he was a bit of a medical specialist, he would rather them be hurt for a purpose… his purpose to be exact. As they both sized up the building, it seemed that the Doctor was a natural at this, as he saw where some things needed to get broken, and Grey watched him pull explosive tags out and place them around. Grey also had explosive tags, but he wanted to save them for a last resort sort of thing, and so he couldn’t help but pose a question to the Doctor about what he was doing. “Uhh, are you sure about this?” Grey tried to say, but as he was finishing the sentence, he was cut off by the sound of the explosions going off simultaneously, causing the building to collapse. The building collapsed a bit askew from where it was, and so a bit of it landed in the street, but there were caution markers there making sure people didn’t get too close, so it was fine. Greey then sighed, as it was their responsibility to clear the debris from the street in the case that the explosion wasn’t perfect, and so he walked over there, starting to haul chunks of rubble away.

Watching from a safe distance as he detonated the explosive tags, Daiki had indeed heard the reservations Gray was making about blowing up the abandoned building. Of course, Daiki was no expert demolitionist but in his eyes, all explosions and destruction of buildings were the same, what was the difference he thought to himself. "No, I'm not sure about this but all the client said was he wanted this building demolished and that's easy to achieve with men of our stature," Daiki exclaimed loudly, attempting to talk over the ongoing explosions. When all was said and done, the building was indeed no more and gray had begun to haul out chunks of rubble from the site. Now for the boring part of the mission. He probably should have taken his time with the demolition but then he'd have been here all day regardless of cleaning the debris. Letting out a sigh behind his wide grin, Daiki also began to help clear out the rubble from the blown up building. It had taken a while for the two of them but eventually they had finally finished cleaning up the mess they, specifically Daiki, had created for them. As soon as they were done, Daiki had called over a crew that would begin to further clean up with their tools specifically designed for that sort of thing and begin to work on laying the foundation for a new building. This would end their role in this mission and thus Daiki would collect payment for it while asking Grey what mission they should take next.

The building was down and dusted, and the Doctor had said something simple about the building needing to come down and it should be easy, Grey wasn’t sure because he was trying to listen over the sound of the explosive tags being set off. There wasn’t any other explanation afterwards either, and so Grey simply continued cleaning the rubble until most of it was in the back of a cart that would be hauled off somewhere else, maybe it was a landfill. Another team came over when most of the large chunks of rubble were cleared and started to do their jobs, the construction of a new building in its place being the topic for their job, and Grey was thankful that they didn’t need to do much else, their job was a lot shorter and probably paid a bit more. The luxury of being shinobi… or at least being treated like one when it came to the missions that the village had available. Grey was looking through the missions, noticing that they really only needed to complete one more, although Grey thought he might need to complete a shift at the information booth of the village as well before he could collect that payment, there was only the mission regarding the old ruins that they had to complete. Grey was thinking this when a man in a fire fighter’s uniform came running up to the two of them. “Excuse me! Are you two ninja? We need some help over here with a building fire, we’ll pay well!” The man was obviously in a hurry and out of breath. “Sure! Lead the way.” Grey would say, following the man as he ran down the street towards a burning building. Grey wouldn’t turn down what was essentially free money, a burning building couldn’t have been that difficult to handle with their levels.

Now that they had wrapped up the demolition business nicely. Daiki was looking forward to the next mission instance the two of them would take on together, or solo seeing as there was a task Gray had completed that he had not. Regardless, it seems the next task would find the two of them instead of them choosing. A firefighter had run up to the two of them, requesting shinobi aid. This just garnered a look towards Gray wondering what they should do about this particular situation. According to the firefighter, they were to rescue people from a burning building that paid handsomely. This piqued Daiki's interest as at the moment, he was short on funds. It seems Gray also wanted to participate in this mission for whatever reason he was hiding. When gray went to follow the firefighter, Daiki just followed suit in hopes they would get to their destination soon. Trailing behind the firefighter for a little, Daiki eventually could smell traces of smoke in the air and he already knew he was getting close to their destination. After a few moments, he could see the smoking rising from the direction they were going until they found a team of fire fighters similar to the one they were following.

The fire raged on, and it seemed that the building was going to collapse soon. The fire fighters there would have no problem putting out the fire, the real problem lied in the fact that there were plenty of people still in the building, and most of them were on the third floor. The previous two floors were easily evacuated by the normal people as soon as the fire broke out. As they got on the scene, the firefighter that brought them there quickly told them the situation. “There are six people on the upper floor we can’t get to, and they’ll most likely die or be in critical condition if they jump.” Grey nodded, needing no further explanation on how to rescue them. He knew that the Doctor was much more physically able than he was, so he quickly told him his plan. It wasn’t really a plan, but a simple set of instructions for being as efficient as possible since he was quite quick on his feet and looked really strong. “You should go around to the other side. I’ll grab the people here, yeah?” Grey didn’t wait for his buddy to agree with him and simply started climbing the side of the building with the surface walking technique. The building was quite warm, but luckily for him, the fire was contained within the building, for the most part. He had to sidestep a couple of windows that were belching flames as the firefighters were attempting to douse them, giving him an easier path up his side. This was another reason he wanted the Doctor to go to the other side, the fires were worse there, and not only was he looking out for himself more(he is a criminal after all), the Doctor was much hardier than he was, so that would allow him to withstand more heat than Grey could.

Arriving on the scene, there was a massive fire in the building as the firefighter reported to them. Watching the building and observing the intensity of the flames, Daiki could see the fire was capable of being contained by the local firefighters using their various water techniques in an attempt to subdue the fire. However, Daiki noticed there were people in the building which is probably the reason why they were asked to come and help in the first place. Daiki grinned as he watched the people helpless in the fire wonder if they would allow him to sample some of their DNA in gratitude for their rescue. Before he could do anything, it seemed like Gray had come up with a plan. He had counted there were exactly six people still trapped in that building and they would be dead regardless if they stayed in the building or jumped out and landed on the ground. Daiki preferred them to die with their body intact so he could just use their entire body for experiments later but he knew that neither option was realistic as they were being drafted to help. Gray had instructed him to go to the other side of the building and then began to use the surface walking technique to scale the building walls without being able to give a response. Daiki just shrugged and compiled as if he had much of a choice in this matter. Running around to the back of the building, Daiki simply just waited for whatever the next phase of Gray's plan was.

Grey wasn’t aware of what the Doctor was thinking, about the horrible things that were going on in his head, and simply wanted to get the job done as swift as possible so that he could get the money and leave. The next mission and the last mission that they were going to do was going to be rummaging through some old ruins in search of things that seemed interesting and valuable, which he thought was going to be the most interesting and fun experience out of all of these missions so far. This was also the reason he wanted to finish so quickly, he was excited to go through the ruins. He finally made his way to the window where there were a couple of people waiting and shouting to be saved, and he grabbed two of them. The third one tried to grab onto him as well, but he was shoved off, fairly violently. Grey knew his inner missing ninja was coming out a bit, so he had to smooth things over by yelling at the person for a reason. “I can’t carry all three of you, wait a moment. I’ll be right back.” Grey wasn’t used to saving someone at all, and the person was screaming for him to help because the fire was spreading. Grey didn’t really care. If he had a conscience he wouldn’t be in his line of work. Well, if you could call it work, because Grey enjoyed what he did a lot, it was as if he wasn’t working at all. Grey figured that his buddy the Doctor was probably done saving people on his side, so Grey was sort of leisurely when he ran back up the building, pretending to be a bit winded as he saved the final person on his side before heading back.

Daiki had walked around to the back of the building as instructed by his partner. No doubt to mostly likely see who was trapped in the burning building. Looking around the area in his peculiar six lens spectacles, he couldn't really see anybody in need of rescuing in the building. Maybe all the smarter people went to the front to yell for help or something which is why they were still alive long enough for Grey to come along and rescue them. Searching around further, Daiki could hear the sounds of a small child trying its best to yell for help. Letting out a sigh, Daiki was hoping he didn't have to do work as he began to trace where the sound was coming from, getting close to the burning building. Peering through one of opening's in the wall he could see a small boy attempting to pull a man from underneath burning rubble. The boy clearly wasn't strong enough to pull the man, he assumed to be his father or guardian, from his situation. Well, he guessed this is where he comes in and 'saves the day' . The opening was  only big enough to peer through but not big enough to walk through so he just figured he'd make the opening big enough to walk through. Kicking the weakened parts of the wall, Daiki made a big enough opening in the wall in order to move through it and attempt to help the people in need. 

Looking at the burning rubble, Daiki didn't really want to touch it and burn his own hands as he had nothing to protect himself from the flames and so Daiki just picked up the kid. The man's time was limited anyway as the lower half of his body was most likely crushed and burned. With that, Daiki walked out of the burning building with the kid thrashing underneath his arms crying and screaming to help his papa. Daiki smiled at the fact he was right about that man being his dad and took him back to the front to wait for Gray.

The fire was burning fiercely, but it seemed that it was rapidly getting under the control of the fire fighters since they no longer had to pay any heed to helping out the people burning in the building now that they had hired the two of them to do that for them. The people were now safe, at least according to everyone around, and Grey quickly saw that the Doctor moved around back to the front with a kid that was thrashing about, begging for the ninja to save his father. There was most likely nothing they could do at that point, and Grey just had to chalk it up to bad luck that there were less survivors than there could have been. Grey shrugged to himself as the Doctor came over and waited for him, and it seemed that there were no more screaming people inside, which meant that the pair of them had saved as many as they could for now, and there was nothing more for them to do other than to wait. Grey wondered if the fire fighters would want them to do anything else as they just stood around, but soon one of the firefighters who looked like the leader walked up to them, wiping some sweat off of his brow. “Thanks a ton you two, we have it under control for now. Go ahead and take this slip to the administration office, they’ll be sure you get paid.” The lead fireman said as he handed Grey and the Doctor a signed slip of paper each. Grey could tell that there was something special about the material the paper was made from, and it was most likely exclusive to the leaders of various departments in the village just for this reason. Grey wasn’t a thief or anything of the sort, so there was no reason for him to think of counterfeiting it or anything, and so he simply took it and nodded to the person, before walking off, glad to get away from all that mess before something else happened that required them to get their hands dirty again.

Returning to the front with the kid in tow, Daiki was grinning now for the simple fact he had done his good deed for the day of saving a kid from certain doom. Shame what happened to the kid's parents and there was nothing he could, oh woe is him. Handing the kid to a firefighter, Daiki 'explained' the kid was hysterical after losing his father and was traumatized. The kid of course tried to protest but the firefighter seemed to believe Daiki over the kid and attempted to bring him down. The firefighter placed him over his shoulder as the child thrashed about and began walking away. As the firefighter had done so, the kid just stared at Daiki through sobs as Daiki had did the same with his wide grinning, fingers pressed against one another. Afterwards, he turned to Gray and a firefighter that had said something about gratitude and handed both gray and him a signed slip to where they could go to the administration office to get paid for their services. Just the thing Daiki was looking for as he needed money to go and get the things he wanted done. It seems Gray knew about these papers and wondered if they held some kind of special property but other than that, that was as far as his curiosity went regarding the material of these papers. It seems like they had nothing left to do here as the firefighters themselves could handle the fire without fear of anybody else in the building. If they were being handed a reward now, then that must mean their part in this must be over. Daiki then decided it was time for them to go as he walked off in a random direction wondering what tasks they had left to complete.
