The Construction Job pt. 1

Today was the last day where his time at the Inn would be covered by the Kazekage, but by this point he already had enough money to sustain himself to some extent. He started his day off with a few hundred push ups, he had left his garments at the desk clerk for laundry. As soon as his workout was complete, he heard knocking at his door. Upon opening the door, he found his clothes neatly folded on the wooden surface. He collected the clothes, briefly sticking his head out of the door to determine who had delivered them but there was no one in sight.

Satoru was ever so slightly worried that he had scared one of the Inn employees the other day when he shot out of bed at the instant she opened the door. Nevertheless, he couldn’t dwell on it too long, he slipped into his clothes, tying his scarf around his neck as oppose to face. With that, he quickly made his way out of the inn, the feeling that the inn keeper was staring unnerving him in the process.

After what felt like a five minute walk at a rather fast pace, Satoru arrived at the contract office. Luckily, he was one of the first to arrive and was able to pick up the construction job quite quickly. He enjoyed the old phrase of the early bird catches the word, and that’s exactly what he intended to do today.

He arrived at the construction site but thirty minutes later, greeting who he figured was the chief of the operation upon arrival. The contract stated that the job would require few days of work however, Satoru quickly established with the head honcho whether or not he could leave once all three of the properties are completed. The boss man laughed, chasing the toothy grin with “Sure kid, you can go soon as all these houses are don’”.

Satoru nodded, before quickly making his way around to site to take note of where everyone was position relative to yesterdays observations. There were two people at every property that laid the brick and the cement. There was 1 person at every property that did the relevant electrical work and one carpenter that moved between properties.

Satoru nodded a couple of times as he flicked his cloak off and onto a dry piece of land. He looked around as he pushed his legs against the ground, both thighs bulging as he shot off in the direction of the supply shed. At top speed, Satoru secured grip on two large carpets required by the carpenters, he didn’t bother delivering them via traditional means, instead he threw each carpet towards the ground in front 2 of the 3 properties. The throw carried out with just enough strength to ensure that the carpets would land in front of the building.

In the very next moment, he secured both arms under a pallet bricks, lifting the whole pallet casually. Because of the sensitivity of the bricks, Satoru simply walked the pallet over to the centre most location between all three of the properties, making the bricks a lot more accessible. The instant he placed the bricks down he darted off back into the shed, grabbing the necessary compounds for the cement mould.

He tossed every compound necessary over his shoulders, carrying them all out of the building with ease. Having walked the cement compound, he began mixing the largest batch of cement the builders had ever seen. The problem with having large batches of cement was that it had to be consistently stirred otherwise it would dry and harden, so larger the surface area the difficult that becomes.

With Satorus strength and speed, he was able to mix the entire back with easy, filling and tossing buckets back and forth between the houses over a period of a few hours. Before they knew it, all of the builders were charged up and motivated, working equally as quick as Satoru to complete the properties. Only a few hours elapsed and they were all done, the last few flat top houses were all finished and ready for the drying process. The load baring walls, extensively secured and a job well done.

Satoru scooped up his cloak a the builders started to converge on him with the intention of thanking him. Satoru instead slipped into his cloak and dashed out of the area at full pace.
