Don't play with fire [P, NK, IO]

Kenjiro was done with his Academy classes for the day, his sensei, Jounin rank ninja Saru Haruki had assigned the class some homework as usual but it was nothing too serious just a few hand signs and the meanings behind them. He remained in the shadow of the academy as the sun passed overhead, it was becoming early evening in the Land of Fire, leaves blew in the warm wind as he looked out across the emptying training grounds behind the academy so he could be alone. He did not let Kozachi know he was going here to train today, but the two of them had their own lives to live after all. Once the academy grounds were empty as his vision could tell he stepped out from the shadows to the training dummies, here is where he would train chakra control and speed so that he could overcome the challenges of the future.

"Father has yet to teach me and Kozachi the ability to use the Fire Stream Jutsu...good thing the academy has a steady supply of technical books for us to borrow to learn on our own." He would say as he would pull out a small leatherbound book with basic fire techniques and control of the elemental chakra. He smiled as he would lean against the straw-filled sack dummy and begin to read. The first technique was about kneading fire chakra in the body and moving it throughout to get a feel for the power held inside the body before beginning to understand a technique.
"Taking into account the training I received as a child this is nothing that will bother me too much." He said as he closed the book and focused his chakra, kneading it internally as if the picture in his head really helped convey what he was doing. He stood in an empty room kneading a swirling colorless mass in his hands as he focused on it as a small flicker of a flame or sparks would come off of the ball as he attempted to access his ancestral understanding of fire.

Soon enough the entire ball would come alight as it would take on an orange-ish glow as he began to maintain his fire based chakra now with little effort. As he opened his eyes, his skin feeling like embers were licking his skin every so often, he decided to grab the book so he could begin reading once again. He soon found that there was a basic understanding of fire based techniques the farther into the book he read. He did find the Fire Stream technique he wanted as he memorized the hand signs for use a bit later as he took what the book said and put it to practical use.

"The Fire Stream jutsu is performed by kneading Katon chakra into the chest, and when married with the utilization of a one-handed half tiger seal, the user of the jutsu will expel forth a small amount of flames from their mouth when triggered." He would then put the book away before walking a meter back to face the dummy as he would take a few deep breaths.
"Well let me see if I can put words to actual practical use." He would sigh before kneading the chakra inside his body to convert it to fire chakra.

Making the half tiger hand sign he would inhale quickly before expelling his air as the chakra ignited as it shot out and spread over the dummy as the fire would bathe the straw before he ran out of the air. As the initial shock of it all passed he caught his breath as he was bathed in an orange glow, looking up he would see that the dummy had indeed caught fire as the straw popped and crackled sending ashes into the air. He would look around to see he was still alone as the fire drew him in, and as such he gazed at it as the warmth spread over his body. If anyone were to walk upon the scene they would see that a teenager standing in front of a flaming dummy as if it were some sort of sacrificial pyre making Kenjiro look more menacing than he already was.

"In order for the old filth to be washed away sacred flames of truth will need to be spread to reclaim what we have lost. I will fix this village one day." He said to himself as the ashes would fall on his vest, face, and body as he sighed with a loss of words right at the end. He sounded like some sort of crazy prophet on the street corner rather than a teenage ninja, but nobody needs to know what goes on in his head...even his sister. As he noticed the ash covering him he took a few steps back in surprise as his eyes grew wide.
"DAMN! mom is gonna kill me if I come home looking like a bum again." He said as he quickly opened the book back up to read and see if there was some sort of way to remove ashes and dirt as he had completely forgotten about the Chakra Cleanse technique he learned in class. As he thumbed through it he found mention of it a few times before it actually clicked.

He would walk away from the fire now as the embers quickly died out as darkness crept up the academy grounds. He would make the tiger seal before his body began to glow in a red, orange-ish glow as the ash seemed to fall away from him as if someone had taken a hose to his body. It was a lucky thing he remembered it...though he knew credit should actually be going to the book since that was where it was mentioned a few times before to give him the idea. Once he was all clean again he would begin his walk home as he was late for dinner at this point and his family would not be happy about that.

He was awoken the next morning by his father Shinji, the reasoning was for daily training to prepare him for the coming exams for Genin promotions. As usual, they both dressed in traditional training Gi so that way if they got messed up they were easy to replace. Walking out into the back of the family compound by the small garden they would both bow to each other as Kenjiro would start with the offensive. His leading attack would be a simple kick aimed for his father's chest, the speed was slower than anything his father could do so it was easily blocked, however, Kenjiro did counter with a quick movement to attempt to jab at his ribs. The move was futile as his father was quick to snatch his hand and maneuver it behind his back before leading him towards a pole that Kenjiro was forced to move up without any technique as he used only his feet he kicked off and twisted himself till he landed behind his father.

"You have grown a little of course since we last sparred, that is fortuitous for you Kenjiro, continue please." His father said in a cold tone, the lack of feeling in his father's voice was normal for him as the wind blew through the compound, scattering blossoms of cherry and leaves before his father attempted a quick right and left combo punch. Kenjiro was quick to attempt to block but was caught off guard as he fell down on his ass.
"Shit!" Was all Kenjiro could say as he quickly rolled away from his father as he moved to kick Kenjiro while he was down.
"boy...you must learn to block when your opponent gets close to you, otherwise you will never be able to protect your clan....your village...your family..." Shinji said as Kenjiro began to grow angry. The dialogue between the two seemed more like mentor and student than father and son. He was caught though, there was nothing he could do at the current time to stop him.
"I yield," Kenjiro said before his father went for a final strike only to extend his arm to offer it to his son a way up.
"Another important lesson is to never let your feelings get the better of you in battle...especially for our clan. It can lead to disastrous events if you cannot control yourself. Now, let us go again, you need to learn to block the movements of taijutsu before you move on to ninjutsu." He finished as he got back into his stance and waited for Kenjiro.

Kenjiro nodded before getting into stance as well, the two warriors of the Uchiha clan, father and son training by the dawns early light. This time when his father moved to attack it was an easily telegraphed kick towards his upper body, causing Kenjiro to finally have something click in his head as he moved to block with an open hand. Inhaling as he moved, and exhaling as Shinji struck his open palm before the deflection and movement brought Shinji spinning towards the family garden. His father was quick and as he naturally would, he regained his footing and did a backflip towards his son as the two went about their training, neither of them gaining any real ground. Finally, his father called the session a successful time between the two of them as he gave his son a pat on the shoulder.
"I guess we will move on to ninjutsu next time...or perhaps even Genjutsu. You are ready Kenjiro." His father said as it was like a congratulatory handshake to the teenager. He smiled as the two went inside the family house to eat breakfast.
