You Should Have Picked the Swordsman - Page 2 Empty Re: You Should Have Picked the Swordsman

Sun Nov 19, 2017 12:31 am
The scar faced teen would raise a silver blow slightly when he felt the thoroughly drained chakra reserrves of the boy fill themselves back up out of seemingly nowhere.

"So you had a way to refill your reserves this entire time... interesting...although, I must ask... did you really think it wise to refill your reserves while I still had my hand on you. Surely you must have realised that I can drain your chakra with but a touch." He would say in a slightly condecending tone. If he wished he could sap most of the chakra that the younger looking teen had regained... but thankfully for him, Kenshin respected his forward planning enough to allow him to keep his newly filled reserves... or at least, most of them. As a lesson to the boy Kenshin would once more activate his Chakra Absorption, but this time it would only be around half of the power that he had been using earlier (30)

"Let that be a lesson to you. If you have a trump card don't use it too early" he would then say with a small smirk upon his face. Really the smart thing to do would have been waiting and seeing exactly what Kenshin would have done first, and perhaps even allowed the Chunin to underestimate him a little due to his miniscule reserves, before suddenly refilling them and taking him by surprise. It probably wouldn't have worked, but it would have been smarter than refilling them whilst Kenshin still had a hand on him.

"S-sir... Please can you let m-me up?"he would stutter out in what Kenshin took to be either nervousness or fear, earning a light chuckle from the silver eyed young man.

"Very well." the stitched and scarred medic would say as he removed his hand from the miniscule teens chest.

"So now that you're not paralysed, whats's your name?" Kenshin would ask as he pushed himself off the ground, grabbing a small handful of sand with his left hand as he did so. Once he was fully up he would offer Akemi his right hand, in case he wanted some help getting up. If Akemi accepted the hand Kenshin would help him up, if he didn't then Kenshin  would simply chuckle and give a light shrug.

Either way, if he helped Akemi up or not, Kenshin would activate his Assimilate All Creation, and he was of course taking on the form of the sand that he was holding within his left hand. At a speed of 70 this transformation would spread from his hand across his body, the end result making him look like a sculpture made entirely out of sand.

"Your test is simple, impress me." the literal sand man would say with a smirk. If Akemi truly wished to be a Chunin then he would have to prove to the Earth Grudge Fear carrier that he had the strength required to hold such a rank. He was not like Namikaze, who would pass someone for running head first into a group of exploding fireballs... no, something like that would simply not fly with him.

You Should Have Picked the Swordsman - Page 2 Empty Re: You Should Have Picked the Swordsman

Tue Nov 21, 2017 8:16 pm
As the man ridiculed Akemi for using his chakra storage seal, Akemi's opinion on whether or not he should've used the seal never faltered. Sure, it may of been unwise with hindsight, but Akemi wasn't sure if Kenshin would've continued to drain at the rate he had been draining before, which would've resulted in Akemi's untimely demise. Still, now Akemi had very little energy to work with, and he knew that he couldn't use that much energy in a short space of time due to his newly-acquired curse mark...

Oh no.

To add to the problem, Akemi's chakra sensory could feel the strength of the man's chakra, and it didn't help to sooth his nerves in any way. Akemi also had no idea what the capabilities of the man were, sure, he knew the man could make poison and drain chakra, but that was it. He had no idea how fast the man was, how strong the man was. The man was a complete mystery. On the other hand, this man knew very little about the midget, so that was a plus.

The man finally let his hand off of Akemi's chest, earning a small breath of relief from the teen. So far, so good. Following this, as the man was asking Akemi for his name, the midget would be pushing himself off the floor as well, quite eager to get himself out of his previous vulnerable position. Now on his feet, Akemi felt a lot more in control of his actions, and it somewhat soothed his nerves. Despite this, however, if one were to look closely, they would see his left hand shaking slightly due to his nerves.

"M-my name's Akemi Hiyu." Stuttered the teen, not seeing any reason as to why he should leave out his clan name. After all, the man had told Akemi that his name was Kenshin Uzumaki, and dang did "Uzumaki" sound familiar. It was a shame that Akemi never really deemed it necessary to learn clan names off by heart.

Nothing could've prepared the Hiyu for what came next.

Suddenly, the man's whole body turned into sand, yet somehow still retained the man's shape and general "Personality". In a state of surprise, Akemi would take a few steps back. With the distance between them never being established beforehand, let's give a rough estimate and say Akemi's steps back left about a 3-Meter distance between him and Kenshin, while Kenshin was telling Akemi to impress him.

With a new goal in mind, Akemi's eyes would harden with determination, though if one were to look closer they would still see a small level of uncertainty in his features. Akemi may be of slightly less than average intelligence when it came to combat, but he wasn't naive. He knew, deep down, that there was no way he even stood a chance. After all, the man had already beaten Akemi without batting an eye, and now Akemi was severely weaker than before. What chance did he have?

Settling down the nerves in his stomach, Akemi would walk forward at a speed of about 20, assuming this isn't timelined of course. If he was allowed to reach within 1/2 a meter of Kenshin, Akemi would throw a quick right jab towards Kenshin's face(Speed:125|Strength:80). His feet were shoulder width apart and his weight was finely distributed between them so that it wouldn't be easy to knock him down.

You Should Have Picked the Swordsman - Page 2 Empty Re: You Should Have Picked the Swordsman

Thu Nov 23, 2017 4:47 am
"M-my name's Akemi Hiyu" the shorter of the two would stammer out nervously, earning him a small nod from Kenshin. He didn't really recognise the name Hiyu from any books that he had read in the past, nor could he recall meeting anyone in the past that shared the same surname. But in the end that meant nothing, as the silver haired teen was not some expert on the clans of the shinobi world, he was just a well-read young man.

The newly transformed sand man would allow a small smirk to split his sandy face as he watched the skittish young man take a few steps back, putting the distance between them at roughly three meters. As Kenshin made the declaration that Akemi's test was to impress him, he watched as the young mans eyes hardened in determination.

'Those are good eyes' the Chunin of Hoshigakure would think, slightly impressed by the fact that the boys eyes had transformed from skittish to determined in a split second. He could of course see the uncertainty in the young mans body language, but it seemed that the determination was winning... for now anyway.

Kenshin would raise a sandy brow as his diminutive opponent began to walk towards him at 20 speed, but he would do nothing to stop his actions. Now, when the dark haired teen got within half a meter of his current poosition, he would throw a right jab towards Kenshin's face, but in the end, throwing a jab towards something didn't exactly mean much. Especially when one doesn't mention whether or not the jab hit what it was thrown towards.

If the jab was actually meant to hit Kenshin, he would do nothing to stop the blow from hitting him directly in the sandy face (or wherever else Akemi hits). His 200 health more than negating any of the damage that would have been caused by the 80 strength punch.

If Akemi tried to stop the jab before it hit Kenshin, he would raise his glowing left hand at his maximum speed (150) and touch Akemi's right hand before he was able to pull it back. This touch was all that was needed for Kenshin to steal even more of his opponents chakra, and once more, this would be done with the technique at it'd full power (65).

If the jab was simply a type of feint meant to distract Kenshin, then once more he would raise his glowing left hand and touch Akemi's extended right hand before he could pull it back. Once again, sapping the techniques maximum power (65).

You really could never be careful with those Taijutsu types, especially the ones that leave things vague.

You Should Have Picked the Swordsman - Page 2 Empty Re: You Should Have Picked the Swordsman

Welp, it looked like Akemi's jab stopped on it's way towards Kenshin's face, when it was only around 10cm from it's target... so close yet so far. His diminutive opponent seemed to be staring directly at Kenshin, but it was rather obvious that he was not exactly focussing on what was going on. In fact, it almost seemed as if while his body was here, his mind wasn't.

In the end though, Kenshin would go through with what he detailed in the last post, and simply touch Akemi's hand with his glowing left hand and sap a good deal of the younger looking teens chakra. But he was feeling a little generous, so he would only take 35 AP rather than the 65 AP he had mentioned last post.

If the boy continued to stare at him with glassy eyes then Kenshin would give a sigh of annoyance and place his sandy hand Upon Akemi's head, and once again start draining his chakra, but this time, he would take 60 rather than 30

If Akemi's mind did return though, Kenshin would give the boy a whithering glare

"Focus!" he would practically snarl, his ire beginning to rise at the boys absent-mindedness

You Should Have Picked the Swordsman - Page 2 Empty Re: You Should Have Picked the Swordsman

Wed Dec 06, 2017 11:10 pm
As noted in the previous post Kenshin would sigh in annoyance and place his sandy hand atop Akemi's head, and once more steal a significant portion of the younger looking teens chakra. And once more the young man did not do anything to stop Kenshin, his mind obviously wandering as he refused to pay any form of attention to what was happening.

How the hell had it come to this... or better yet, how the hell was this kid meant to be Chunin material, not only was he hesitant and weak... but he also seemed to have trouble focussing on what was happening right in front of him. He really neeeded to have a chat with Namikaze about her standards for potential Chunin in this village.

Once more though, if Akemi's mind did not return before Kenshin could hour him agaiin, then Kenshin would use his Chakra Apsorption one final time, taking the final 60 AP from the Hiyu's AP pool. When this happened, the young Hiyu would fall unconcious, and Kenshin would send a withering glare down at the boys unconscious body... he was sorely tempted to just kill him here and now for that pathetic performance... but he wouldn't... for now anyway.

If Akemi's mind returned Kenshin would write an actual response

You Should Have Picked the Swordsman - Page 2 Empty Re: You Should Have Picked the Swordsman

Mon Dec 11, 2017 8:08 am
With a small glare set firmly upon his face Kenshin would stare down at the unconcious form of the boy that he had been testing earlier. It had all started out fine, but the moment that the boy had actually launched an attack, his mind seemed to leave his body, leaving Kenshin alone with nothing more than a useless sack of flesh that could do nothing more than stare lifelessly ahead. The silver haired Chunin had of course punished the boy for his absentmindedness by completely draining the small bit of chakra that he had left the boy with for his test.

This had of course resulted in the younger looking teen passing out, which in turn caused him to fail the test that Kenshin had set him.... and he had failed it rather miserably at that. Oh yes, for this pathetic performance young Akemi had lost any and all chances of being promoted to Chunin from this little fight. And to make matters worse Kenshin would be sending the kage of the village a report of exactly what had happened in this little fight, so that they would know of the young mans habit of losing focus in the face of danger.

The stitched and scarred medic was sorely tempted to do the village a favour and simply cut this boy open and take his heart for himself, so that his death could at least make Kenshin, and in turn Hoshigakure, stronger. But thankfully for Akemi, there were far too many people within Hoshigakure that had witnessed the half blood Uzumaki with paralysed body of the diminutive teen for him to simply kill him without people suspecting him. However, just because Akemi wasn't going to be killed by Kenshin, didn't mean that he was going to escape this forest without some reminder to not blank out in the face of a potential enemy again. The silver haired Jounin would go through the hand seals required to use the Storage Displacement technique and retrieve a relatively large jar filled 3/4 full of a light red liquid. He would place the jar down near Akemi and open them.

Kenshin would give a rather sinister smirk as he reached down towards the dark haired youth to divest him of his shirt, before he began to go through as set of five very familiar hand seals. Once completed Kenshin's hands would be coated in a blue, almost blade-like aura, and he would proceed to dig his foot beneath the right side of Akemi's body. Using this foot the Chunin of Hoshigakure would lift the right half of Akemi's body upwards, until the boy was laying firmly on the left side of his body. When the young man was lying in the position that he wanted Kenshin would make a rather large incision just above his hip, stopping just below his rib cage. With the incision made Kenshin would reach his pale hand into Akemi's body and grab hold of the boys kidney, using his threads to sever the renal arteries, veins and ureter.

Kenshin would place the kidney in the jar and begin to go through the hand seals required to use the Chakra Cleanse technique, coating his body in a light layer of chakra and completely cleaning it. When his hands were clean the scar faced young man would close the jar and begin to go through the hand seals needed to use the Mystical Palm Technique. When his hands were completely coated in the familiar light green aura Kenshin would place them against the cut he had made on Akemi's side, healing any and all damage that he had done to the young man... minus the missing organ of course, but humans could live safely with only one kidney.

Kenshin would use Akemi's own shirt to clean the blood that had been made by the incision, before placing the now blood soaked shirt back on the boy, and thankfully, there was only some blood near the front of the boys collar. Hmm... that would be a bit suspicious, the boys shirt being soaked in blood while he was completely injury free... that needed to be remedied. The heart thief would grab a rather large rock from the ground and slam it into Akmi's nose at his full strength, but unfortunately it sdidn't seem to do enough damage to make him bleed... so Kenshin began to slam the rock into the diminutive teens face repeatedly. He would only stop after the seventh hit when he saw the young mans nose begiin to bleed rather profusely.

The boy shouldn't have any form of brain damage from this, but Kenshin didn't exactly care enough to heal the young man even as a precaution. But now that he had taken the boys kidney, and the jar had been placed safely within Kenshin's pocket, he would left the bleeding young Hiyu over his shoulder and begin the trek back to Hoshi.

Oh, and it should be noted that Kenshin had his Minds eye of the Kagura active from the moment that Akemi had actually passed out, and his actions in this post would change if he felt any approaching chakra signatures.

You Should Have Picked the Swordsman - Page 2 Empty Re: You Should Have Picked the Swordsman

Mon Dec 11, 2017 1:38 pm
You know the best thing about having an eye that sees everything? You can see bullshit happening from a mile away. That is what the man saw now. Truthfully he hadn't expected such a thing to occur. Rehabilitation had progressed, the man now able to move freely for limited times without major issue. That would be a blessing for today. A stroll through the woods always helped clear his mind. The ever present white eye kept watch always. He saw everything. The wildlife that lived in seclusion out here in the reserve. The trees, the grass, all the life in the forest. He also saw them, the two that caught his attention while he was out on his walk.

A boy being subdued was what he saw. What was the motive? Unknown. All alone out in the woods. Some sort of twisted dark fantasy perhaps. The appearance of the assailant was odd. It was not human from the looks of it. A rogue summon perhaps? Or another ancient beast that needed to be put down. The white haired man knew not. However, he would find out.

There was no time for a slow walk, everything was at stake here. A black mark appeared on his cheek, that accompanied by lightning chakra beginning to circle it's way through his body signalled the beginning of the event. More lightning followed a crackling ball of pure blue electric chakra forming itself above the man's head by two meters. It followed after him, the chakra continue to buzz and generate more power as the technique began to build up.

His form flickered forward, a bubble of chakra appearing around him as his form disappeared from the naked eye's view at two hundred meters away from the clearing. One could never be too careful when moving at such high speeds. The high speed granted to him by the flicker of movement allowed for the man to traverse a great distance, appearing fifty meters away from the scene of the crime as the assailant would have been a quarter way through cutting the incision in the poor defenceless youth.

Takeo eyed the creature. Humanoid in nature. Ability to perform jutsu. A shinobi of some kind. An assassination attempt then. No need for words then was there? "Evening." The man would say regardless. Takeo didn't really expect a response though. Since after all the halberd made of lightning would be meeting it's target as the words left his mouth. The target was the foreign shinobi of course. The halberd would have been on it's way through the air by the time Takeo had arrived within the clearing.

The life of the boy was a priority of course. It was why he had opened with one of his less destructive techniques. Subdue and question, the best way to deal with things for sure.

You Should Have Picked the Swordsman - Page 2 Empty Re: You Should Have Picked the Swordsman

Tue Dec 12, 2017 12:04 am
The first clue that something was wrong came when Kenshin felt an unfamiliar and unnaturally powerful chakra signature appear only 50 meters away from his current position. The sheer speed at which the man had been moving had made it impossible for Kenshin to track even with his Minds Eye, at least until he had stopped moving... but that left Kenshin with a rather large problem. Whoever this man was, he was powerful, at least if the size of his chakra signature was any indication. At the very least Kenshin still had his Sand Form active, he just hoped that the man wasn't proficient in with ether lightning or water... or else he was up shit creek without a paddle.

Either way though, Kenshin would be expecting an attack from this new arrival, after-all, one does not simply arrive at such high speeds, with their chakra boosted to such levels, for a friendly chat. And the worst part was... Kenshin could not even fault the man if he did indeed launch an attack of some form, as he had essentially caught the scar faced Chunin in the process of stealing the organs of a another shinobi of Hoshigakure. His defence of choice was his Damage Reduction Shield, which would form around his body the moment that he felt the unknown variable enter the clearing. The unknown variable would be able to see the change clearly even without his magic eye, as Kenshin's sandy body would essentially be glowing lightly due to the light layer of medical chakra that was coating his body.

Due to the fact that Kenshin was only in his sand form his chakra levels were no higher than usual, which in turn made this last ditch defense of his quite a bit weaker than it would normally be, but a weakened defense was better than no defense.

"Evening" Kenshin would hear the man say from his position so far away before his world was engulfed in a blue light. It seemed that his initial assessment of the man was correct, he was most definitely someone powerful... someone that needed to be watched carefully.

The usually silver haired teen would feel as the attack shattered his barrier as though it were simply glass, with more than enough power left in it to kill most people. But thankfully, Kenshin was not most people, and his sand form only enhanced his durability to new heights. And despite it's inherant weakness to lightning, it proved more than enough for Kenshin to safely handle the now weakened attack when it hit him.

"Good evening. Is there any chance that I could convince you not to launch another one of those? Or any other attacks for that matter?" Kenshin would ask as he raised both of his hands up next to his head in a gesture of surrender, deactivating the blade of chakra that until this moment he had forgotten he still had active. If the man didn't seem to object to this action then Kenshin would rise up from his kneeling position and take a few steps back from the diminutive teen, stopping when he was roughly a meter from his unconcious form.

You Should Have Picked the Swordsman - Page 2 Empty Re: You Should Have Picked the Swordsman

Wed Dec 13, 2017 5:06 am
Curious. The man thought to himself. A barrier similar to his own, yet visible to the human eye, appeared around the form of the stranger. It was weaker than his own though. That was plain when his attack shattered the barrier. Still it seemed to dampen the effect of his attack enough to allow the stranger to retain their movement. He listened as the man replied to his greeting. A simple enough request. This would go rather smoothly if anything, that was good. The sooner it was over the better. Takeo's gaze flickered between the unconcious boy and the concious..sandman for a brief moment.

The white haired man shrugged. He didn't need much convincing, combat wasn't his thing anyway. He didn't care much as long as the child didn't die. In the regard, "I'll be taking the boy. You can go do..sand things or something." The man said. He'd make his way over towards the boy. Arriving next to the downed body he'd pick the boy up, hoisting him up and onto his right shoulder. "What a weird day." He would comment. Unless anything would happen that would give him cause to change his actions Takeo would simply dart off back the way he came carrying the child.

Then he'd steal the boy's kidney for himself.

Kidding, he'd drop him off at the hospital or something.

You Should Have Picked the Swordsman - Page 2 Empty Re: You Should Have Picked the Swordsman

Wed Dec 13, 2017 8:04 am
The usually stitched and scarred Chunin of Hoshi would eye the stranger cautiously as he gave a shrug in response to Kenshin's offer, mainly because that gesture alone wasn't much of an answer.

"I'll be taking the boy. You can go do... sand things or something." the white haired man would say as he began to make his way towards both Kenshin and the unconcious Genin.

Huh... that had been a lot easier than he had expected, but he wasnt about to complain, he would simply take the opportunity given to him by this mysterious stranger and leave. As the man approached Kenshin would simply back away from the boy, matching the pace that the man was approaching at as he allowed his raised hands to once more fall to his sides. He wasn't about to turn his back on someone who could end him so easily, even if the man was allowing him to leave the scene of his crime with no real repurcussions.

As the man reached Akemi's body Kenshin would simply start to flow his chakra out through his feet and into the ground below. He would use said chakra to transform the earth into a rather fine sand... much like the sand that his body was currently composed of. The lack of a solid surface beneath his feet would cause the usually silver haired young man to sink into the ground, although it was a rather slow process.

"What a weird day." he would hear the boys saviour say as he continued to sink, his body about half underground at this point. He could agree with the mans words, he had allowed his anger and greed to get the better of him... and that was a rather strange thing for someone as calm and composed as Kenshin.

Yeah, he really had to work on his self control... or his stealth, one of the two.
