Deliver the Cargo [Solo,Mission] Empty Deliver the Cargo [Solo,Mission]

Fri Feb 14, 2014 12:36 am
Mission Details:
The sleeping Vergil awakens, from a drop of water from his cave ceiling. Rolling over out of the bed, he rubs his eyes momentarily before walking outside his cave/home. He had just finished an involuntary nap, a result of him suddenly falling asleep against his will. Now walking towards the village, dressed in standard desert attire, a gray scarf wrapped around his neck, with a very thin black shirt clinging onto his his torso, black pants, and lastly a pair of combat boots. His reason for walking towards the village was very simple, he needed ryo. For what other reason would he go to the village? To commute with the ignorant citizens? To stand around doing tasks for the 'greater good'? No. None of these useless things pulled Vergil's interest. Having strayed away from the ways of the light, it now became evident to him that nothing was left, but darkness. Absolute darkness. The light that once shone on him, would never do so again.

Arriving at the village's mission center, Vergil's gazes towards a wall in front of him, filled with paper stacked side by side, each with their own separate mission. Some required that of a team, others, not so much. These were the kind Vergil enjoyed. Walking closer towards the wall, he pulls down a sheet of paper, stares at it a single time, and folds it up neatly before placing it in his ninja pouch. One glance was all it took for Vergil to understand the missions contents, and know that it would be a great mission, the spoils surpassing that of most of the others for its rank.

Walking out of the mission center, Vergil begins to go over the mission details in his head. This mission would require him to get physical, and possible kill a few thugs while doing so. Of course, he would receive no payment if he were to let the 'goods' get damaged, so he would have to take the proper precautions before hand to ensure that something like that would not happen. Reaching down pass his ninja pouch, he pulls a kunai from behind a strap, attached to his thigh. Gripping it tightly in his dominant hand, right, he begins to run through the village. Though not a single eye glances his way, as he travels a speed far greater than what the average person is capable of traveling. The reason Vergil was not walking, as he was before, is because the mission had a specific rendezvous time, which required him to rush things a bit.

Soon, Vergil would arrive at the 'gates of the desert' though it wasn't a gate in appearence, more so in a way that it was an entry point into the desert from the borders. Staring at the shadow the sun casts against surrounding pillars, Vergil guesses the time, arrived a little early. Looking ahead, he can see the start of grass in the distance, a sight he did not have the luxury of seeing on a daily basis. Finally, in a distance he notices a few wagons approaching, to be exact five, each wagon being led by a horse with a person controlling the reigns. The back of the wagon, covered by a wall of cloth, is where Vergil assumes the cargo remains. The wagons were traveling close together, which is expected, since they're carrying important goods.

Vergil begins to approach the wagons meeting them halfway. When the wagons notice his approach they stop, a few murmurs could be heard even from where Vergil stood. "Stop right there, are you our escort from Sunagakure?" Vergil remains quiet for a moment, causing even more murmurs from the wagon owners. "Indeed I am." After saying this, there is absolute silence before the wagon moves again, this time towards him without hesitation. Laughing to himself mentally, Vergil approaches the wagon, a smirk on his face, he slams his left foot forwards, and disappears, reappearing, in the seat next to the first wagon driver. "Wha-," Vergil interrupts the man by placing the kunai he had drew earlier against his throat. "You fool, what if I were not the ninja you summoned from Sunagakure? What would you do then? Exactly. Absolutely nothing. Your head would have rolled off your shoulders by now." Removing the kunai away from the man's neck slowly, Vergil speaks, having just notices the other caravans stop in motion. "Continue ahead, do not stop for anyone!! Even a child is dangerous in this desert...Stay hydrated, and alert. My main objective here is to protect the cargo, your lives come second to that. So if it comes to a choice between you, and the goods, well I don't have to tell you which one I'll choose." After Vergil speaks, a wave of silence falls over the group, as they begin to move once more. Vergil leaps out of the seat, and runs away from the group. Though in the back of their minds they want to yell out in concern, they do not, letting Vergil walk away into the waves of heat, beyond their vision.

The reason Vergil separates himself away from the group, is because he wanted to scout some of the areas they were passing through. Since the mission claims an attack is almost inevitable, Vergil wanted to take the proper precaution, so he chooses to look around first. His concern not with the cargo at the moment, as he was more concerned with the threat towards it. Activating his byakugan, as he began to slow his pace, he would turn around, and notice the similar faint chakra signatures from before, which lets him know that they are not in any danger, for the moment. As night falls, Vergil returns to the wagons, and calls the group of men out to rest momentarily. They exit their wagons with caution, before tying their horses safely, to keep the horses from running off with the cargo. Soon, the men fall asleep in the darkness. Vergil however, stays awake watching over the cargo, waiting for the first sign of an attack. Though this sign never comes, as the sun rises, the group sets out once again. Though before leaving, Vergil lights a cactus on fire with his match, the fire brazes brightly momentarily before going out. The smoke he created from the flame, rises into the sky.

Vergil, twenty meters ahead of the group, stops suddenly after a strong smell of blood enters his nostrils. Normally, one would run back to the wagon, and warn the travelers, but instead Vergil lets them continue, knowing an enemy stood somewhere in their path. Walking slowly now, Vergil continues to scan the area with his byakugan while moving, this time he takes more caution. Walking forward, he feels his left foot step against something harder than any sand he was used to. Cussing under his breath, Vergil leaps backwards after realizing the identity of the object. Suddenly an explosion shakes the ground around them, a result of the bomb placed under the ground exploding after being triggered by Vergil. Even after leaping backwards before the explosion, Vergil is still blown even further backwards, from the force of the explosion alone. Now standing a few meters in front of the wagon, Vergil gulps before scanning the ground around them, and to his amaze it is one covered in bombs, each having somehow escaped the eyes of Vergil. Had the boy not come across one sooner, then his mission would have failed, in the best case scenario, worst case, he would lose his life.

"What was that?" The leading wagon driver asks. Vergil remains quiet. "Snotty nosed brat what the hell is happening!?" Vergil still remaining quiet, raises a hand into the air, signalling the driver to wait. He kneels over, and reaches under the sand floor, removing over a dozen rocks, each rather large in their own right. "This is no time to be playing around, kid." Still remaining silent, Vergil throws the rocks forward. The instant the rocks touch the sand, roughly ten meters ahead of him, it explodes, and Vergil's greatest fear is verified. "Dammit...Everyone, stay close to me, follow my path exactly if you want to survive this." After saying this, the group continues at a much slower pace. Vergil guides the wagon in a path around the bombs, however each time a path is impossible to cross without consequence, Vergil throws rocks towards the area, and explodes the bombs.
Soon, they exit the area of landmines, and as if to congratulate them, a large sign witha skull symbol posted across it stands in front of them. The sign says this,

'Congratulations on escaping the first floor of hell. Turn around now, and leave the cargo, if you wish to preserve your health. If not, then try your luck against the red eyed devil.'

After reading the message, only three words really stick out to Vergil. 'red eyed devil', he re-reads the message over and over again, a smirk appearing on his face before he bursts out into a hysterical laughter. His deep laughter echoes through the desert. Even tears escape the boy's eyes, but these were not tears evoked by the emotion called sadness, no these tears were formed by the absolute joy having no where else to go after swelling up inside Vergil. "Is something funny, boy?" A voice unfamiliar to Vergil says. Rubbing the tears out of his eyes, Vergil looks towards the figure standing in front of him. "Oh, it's nothing. I just...well it's an inside joke." The man smiles sarcastically at Vergil, revealing a row of missing teeth. Still smiling, Vergil realizes that the man is obviously one of the aforementioned thugs in his mission. "Damn man, you should get that fixed." This is said in a sarcastic tone, mocking the man in front of him. "Really now, why don't you fix them for m-" Before the man is able to finish his words, Vergil's fist of injustice slams against the man's bottom row of teeth, knocking them out, and he towards the ground. This punch is made with a portion of Vergil's full strength, so it is not a surprise that the man's neck twists around completely, his ears being blow completely off, from the sheer force of the blow.

Vergil kneels over, and feels against the man's neck, his face more serious. "He's dead." He says plainly. almost as if this is a routine occurrence for him. The journeymen behind him that were once questioning his abilities remain quiet once witnessing the boys force. "Continue, without worry. There aren't any more bombs." He says with absolute certainty, and as instructed, they continue without questioning the boys authority, in fact they seemed more relaxed. Vergil however, digs into the eye sockets of the man, and removes his eyes with the swiftness of a medical expert. Sadly, it seems the eyes of the man he had just killed, were not those of what he expected. Frowning, he grips both fists closed, the man's eye exploding in his hand. 'Of course he wouldn't be one. No. They are much stronger than this.' Placing the kunai against the throat of the deceased man, Vergil begins to slowly remove the man's head, once finished, he grips it by the hair, and begins to follow the group his byakugan activated, while smiling slightly. Night falls upon the group for the second time. As the men rest, Vergil stays awake. Even though it may be tempting for him to fall asleep, or even take a short nap, he fights against it. Knowing that if he were to fall asleep for even a moment, anything could happen.

When he sun rises, Vergil, and the group set forth once more, but at a much faster pace. Since bombs were no longer hindering their movement it allowed them to surpass the distance they had covered yesterday, in a mere hour at most. Vergil knowing the layout of the desert very well, having lived there for nearly a year, he is able to decipher their exact location. Being one hundred meters away from the village. With their way currently cleared, it seemed to Vergil that they'd be able to return to the village without any more altercations. At least, this is what he hoped, but of course life would not let him live to easily. While moving forward at his own pace, Vergil notices an approaching group of chakra signatures, all of them slightly above average. Raising his right hand, he signals for the group behind him to stop all movement. Once they do so, the group instantly appears in front of Vergil, five meters away from him.

Vergil takes note of their description, noting their appearance from right to left. Four of the men appeared to be average in physical appearance, while the fifth happens to be remarkably smaller, his arms are the size of a twig, and look just as durable. "Hand over the goods." Four of the men say in unision, each entering a battle stance after finishing. "Now why would I do that?" Vergil says confidently, raising the kunai in his left hand in front of his face. The four men look at each other, almost as if they had all agreed upon something, and then suddenly they were gone. Vergil looks around puzzled for a moment, even with his byakugan activated he could not sense the their chakra signatures. The sound of a footstep from behind prompts him to turn around, directly into a fist. Vergil is flown away from the blow skidding ten meters before stopping. Raising his head, a single drop of blood gushes from Vergil's nose, immediately after this the delayed effect of the man's punch appears, his nose twisting oddly in an obvious unnatural way.

Vergil grunts, lifting his kunai up once more, his vision slightly more blurred now. Still, he charges ahead, his adversary being only one of the five. The man throws a single kunai towards Vergil, which is close to being parried, but Vergil notices a bomb attached to the kunai, leaping backwards he escaped the devastating explosion. It's aftermath being a crater five meters in diameter. "How were you able to kill our brother?" The man says angrily. Vergil can only assume that the person he's talking about is the man he had beheaded earlier. Speaking of the man's head, Vergil had forgotten that its in his right hand right now. "Oh this man?" After saying this, he raises the man's head in front of him. His face smashed inwards, far behind any recognition. "He was a troublesome fellow. Hiding bombs all over the place, someone should have told him that that's useless against my 'eye'. Though I guess it's too late to tell him now though, wouldn't you agree." While saying this, Vergil stares into the damaged face of the man's head. A slight feeling of warmness reaches his heart, and he smiles widely, the blood from his nose pouring out over his lips, and teeth, but it is promptly licked with sanctification. It seems Vergil enjoyed seeing his own handy work, as-well as inflicting emotional, and physical pain.

"Are you really a ninja of justice? It really doesn't seem like it." Vergil smiles at the man's question, looking deeply into his eyes, he speaks. "I don't know what I am exactly." Scratching his head he vanishes into thin air. Appearing behind the man, a result of pure speed. Grasping the back of the man's head, Vergil squeezes tightly, till he sees the man's spinal cord snap in response. His byakugan showing that all lower body chakra nodes are destroyed. Dropping the man's useless body to the sandy floor of the desert, Vergil looks towards the remaining four men, who are now staring at him blankly. "Next?" He says, wiping his hand onto his shirt. "Second thought, why don't you all come at me. By the way, which of you possess red eyes?" The group remains still, and quiet for a moment. Though their subconscious movement towards the smaller boy lets them know that he's the leader, or someone of great importance. "Ah, I see."  With this said, Vergil lunges towards the group, striking the thug nearest to him with the sixty-four palm technique of his clan. The man being completely drained of chakra, after Vergil strikes him seven times, falls to the ground unconscious. Next, Vergil spins in a complete circle, the thugs surroung the boy are blown off their feet, and sent flying.

With the boy unguarded, Vergil approaches him, to a distance where he can feel his breathe touch his skin. The boy however, pays no attention towards Vergil, but instead looks off towards the men Vergil had had just defeated with ease. It is with a single look by the boy, that all of the men are set ablaze. "You fools, couldn't even handle someone of this level." This is spoken over the screams of the men as they slowly burn to death. Vergil's body trembles slightly, his instincts in flight mode, after being confronted with such abnormal power. Vergil smiles, it seems this one was the real deal, an actual Uchiha. The boy looks back towards Vergil, his eyes a blood red color, stained with the symbol of a rotating image. Thinking back, Vergil remembers reading someone about this, the thing called Mangekyou Sharingan, one of the final stages of the sharingan.

Vergil glances into the eyes of the boy, but quickly diverts his gaze, once noticing an abnormal peak in chakra suddenly surround the boy. Leaping exactly one meter backwards, Vergil enters a barehanded fighting stance. His byakugan intentionally avoiding the alluring gaze of the boy. The reason being obvious as Vergil was well aware of the power the Uchiha were capable of gaining over their opponent, with just their gaze. "You know a real man would look one in the eyes." The boy says, beckoning him towards his doom. "No matter, scum like you will just burn away." Directly after saying this, a surge of flames rush towards Vergil. Already knowing the threat the fire poses, Vergil continues to maneuver around the flames, ducking behind boulders, which are burned to ashes with ease. Soon, the flames stop, seeing this as odd since Vergil was obviously on the defensive, and the boy having the advantage, Vergil peaks his head from behind the smoldered rock, and sees the boy kneeling on the ground, in obvious pain while clutching his left eye.

Not willing to let such an opportunity pass him by, Vergil lunges towards the boy swinging his chakra covered arm through the air, at his weakened frame. What may seem as a normal attack was actual all, but so. As the chakra suddenly takes shape of a lion head, it's jaw extending towards the boy's skull. Biting off his head with little to no resistance, and Vergil would have celebrated has it not been for the cloud of smoke that appeared immediately after. Vergil's target of attack appearing to be simple wood. Luckily, he had a souvenir along with the wood, the boy's arm, and this was obviously the real thing. Turning around, Vergil watches the wounded Uchiha in his attempt to escape. Darting off towards him with his left arm extended, Vergil's bicep collides with the back of the boy's neck, paralyzing him from there, downwards.

Turning the boy's motionless body over, Vergil stares into his eyes, as their glory fades into nothing. Drawing back his fist, he hesitates before punching the boy's abdomen. Instead he decides to leave the boy in the dessert, thinking he would make better food for the scorpions, and snakes. With this, the cargo behind Vergil continues forward with haste. The villages gates now in plane sight. Once they arrive, the carriers thank Vergil, bowing before him, and wishing many blessing to fall upon him before leaving. Vergil continues to accept his reward ryo. The bag of money in his hand, Vergil walks back towards the cave, sort of satisfied with his days accomplishments. Though he's extremely aggravated with the fact that he had to run, and cower behind constructs to avoid the blaze of the Uchiha boy. He would have to change that, sooner then later. As it seemed that his time in the village was beginning to fade. If he truly wished to travel, he would have to become stronger, this Vergil knew without a doubt. Lifting the bag of ryo into the air, while walking through the desert of Sunagakure, Vergil prays to the gods for it to be useful. Hopefully, he could put it towards buying better battle armor, besides his current gear, which is utterly useless, and without benefit. Looking off into the sunset, Vergil walks beyond the sights of the village, towards his home where he would begin another series of intense heart wrenching training, that would once more push him beyond his limits. Though it is worth becoming stronger in the long haul.
