Shell I: Icebound Infantry Set
Backstory:
The village of Hyogagakure is located in a harsh, snowy region, where the winters were long and unforgiving. In order to survive in this harsh environment, the villagers needed to be well-equipped and well-prepared. To that end, they developed a set of armor that was specifically designed to provide protection and warmth in the cold, snowy conditions of the region. To distinguish rank among the village's shinobi tiers of the armor was established, each with their own name and design. Notably, each tier of armor includes a mask, which is not just to conceal the shinobi's identity but also to protect them from the harsh climate and to additionally distinguish rank. Basic and undecorated masks are typical for lower ranked shinobi, while decorated masks and robust helmets are accustomed to higher ranked shinobi.
As the wearer progresses through the tiers of the village they advance through the armor tiers as well, gaining increased fortification and decoration. The armor is designed to provide the wearer with an advantage over their enemies in the harsh winter conditions of the village, allowing them to remain hidden and undetected while also providing superior protection and strength.
Culturally, the armor set is quite important to Hyogagakure shinobi. The mask and armor the shinobi has is the same from the start of a shinobi's career to the end of it. It progresses with the user, and is modified by Old Man Andre when the shinobi advances in rank enough to justify having a new set. Additionally these armor sets are thought of as "Shells", as they contain and protect the sacred body and minds of Hyogagakure shinobi, and breaching these shells is seen as taboo.

The equipped armor set grows, molds, and advances at the same time that its owner does. Resultantly, it benefits from different traits depending on what the user selects upon acquiring its base form or any subsequent shell. And so when the user first acquires any shell or advances their shell, they may choose one of the below traits for their armor:

Shell I: Icebound Infantry Set

The Icebound Infantry armor is the basic armor of the village's infantry and foot soldiers. It provides decent protection against the cold and enemy attacks, but is not as reinforced as the higher tiers. The armor is made from cloth and sturdy leather and is then lined with fur and plated with metal to keep the wearer warm and protected. The armor is colored white to blend in with the snowy landscape, allowing the wearer to remain hidden and undetected.
The mask is minimalistic, with two eye holes or slits, and no design otherwise. Atop the mask is an indentation allowing for the shinobi's headband to sit firmly within.

Shell II: Artic Ambusher Set

The Artic Ambusher armor is the specialized armor of the village's secret soldiers, the ANBU. It is designed to provide increased protection and mobility, allowing the wearer to move quickly and quietly through the snow. The armor is made from a combination of leather and silk, and is reinforced with a thin layer of very dense metal. The armor is colored primarily black with small accents of dark blue and white, representing the shadows amongst the cold and icy environment of the village.
The user has face covering options within the Artic Ambusher set. They may either use a black, geometrical patterned mask equipped with tiny eye and mouth holes. Or alternatively they can choose to use a partial mask, which only covers the user's nose, mouth, and cheeks. Artic Ambushers are not expected to visually display their headbands like the Icebound Infantry set does.

Shell III: Winter Warlock Set

The Winter Warlock armor is the armor of the village's lieutenants. It is designed to provide superior protection and durability, evident by the abundance of metal found in its design. Notably it includes a cuirass and greaves, all overtop a leather set of military fatigues. The armor is made from a combination of highly durable metal and local materials, which allow for plenty of flexibility and breathability. It is colored dark silver or grey with white accents, representing the power and authority of a lieutenant.
At this rank, the mask of the armor set becomes more distinguishable. As illustrated, it includes an ornate design highlighting the user's eyes and mouths. Akin to the Icebound Infantry set, the mask may have a forehead indentation allowing for the shinobi's headband to sit firmly within. Alternatively, the user can choose to display their headband worn around their arm. Finally some masks include chakra - organic horns, which grow over time as a symbol of the shinobi's dedication to service (purely for CD).

Shell IV: Snowfallen Sentinel Set

The Snowfallen Sentinel armor is the armor of the village's high-ranking generals, deputy kages, ANBU commanders, and more. The armor is made from the purest of metals with a sleek set of underlying mesh that sits beneath the armor. The color of this armor and mesh can be chosen by the wearer, as each wearer of this set may take on a different rank. Therefore the color of the set should be distinguishable to all.
The mask at this stage is the same design as the J2, Winter Warlock mask. However, the wearer is now awarded a durable helmet (kabuto) which sits firmly atop of it. The wearer must adorn their headband across their bicep.

Shell V: Coldblooded Commander Set

The Coldblooded Commander armor is the armor of the village's commander. It is designed to provide the ultimate protection and durability, as well as unparalleled maneuverability. As the highest tier armor, it comes in variants which are form depending on the setting.
There is a Formal set which is the typical kage look accounting for a white silken robe, large bamboo hat embroidered with the village's symbol on it, all in a decorative and sleek style. Next comes the Ghost Set, where the owner wears an armored set similar to the Snowfallen Sentinel. However it is much more illustrious and instead of a helmet, the Kage would opt for a mask and bamboo hat alternative. Finally is the War Set, which is a much more reinforced version of the Winter Warlock set and is equipped with a helmet and mask of the user's choosing. This helmet may be horned.
Note that these sets are for CD purposes only and if one is destroyed, then the user must purchase a new set in order to wear any of the variants.

Stealthy Shell:- The user's armor becomes the epitome of stealth: obscuring their chakra signature, and shrouding all biological traits which someone may be able to discern (heartbeat, heat signature, etc). This can be offset via Sensory techniques with power greater than this armor's health. Additionally the user's armor blends in with snowy environments, making seeing the user (when in snowy environments) completely impossible without the use of a Sensory technique with power greater than this armor's health or alternatively with Chakra Vision.
Magic Shell:- With some armor, it becomes necessary for the armor to be adaptable. Thus this armor set allows the user's techniques which originate from their body to become harmless to the armor, allowing them to seamlessly phase through. Effectively this means that techniques which would spawn from the user's body now spawn from the armor instead. Additionally jutsu with physical contact requirements are applicable for the user's armor.
Armored Shell:- The user's armor serves as an optimized level of defense. Therefore, incoming stat checks that produce debilitating effects onto the user or armor, are first checked against this armor's health stat. If they meet or exceed the health stat of the armor, then they carry through as the jutsu describes.
Tricky Shell:- The user's armor has a number of hidden storage compartments, spring loaded mechanisms, and a wire system. Because of this, they are able to hide up to 10 items within various compartments of their armor, and they are able to maneuver these items freely by manipulating the wires tethered to their fingers. Each finger can be assigned a single wire, which can be assigned to a single item. These items may not be larger than 30 centimeters and they move through the armor at the user's speed stat. Alternatively, these items can be spring loaded and shot as projectiles from various locations on the shell of armor under the same guidelines described in the throwing rules.
