I'm proud where I stand Empty I'm proud where I stand

Mission Briefing:

The guarding of the village is one of the most important and simplest things that one can do, it shows that you care enough about your own village. The people around Kiri were especially known for being harsh defenders of their own village. The equinox of winter was settling upon the village hidden within the rain. The people bustled around the square, looking for what to get as the village was relatively poor and riches were fluctuating within the village's very elite class. They were a group full of warriors, things such as Kunai’s, paper bombs, and even a shinobi headband were considered gifts of great honor and reverence. Shiro wondered what anyone who would consider him a friend would give him, his thoughts surrounding his own experiences on the matter involving christmas and the times that it brought, the festivities were endless, full to the brim with life of the thoughts of the future, and the news years hastily approaching their very doorstep. It left the white haired boy wondering just as he was about to receive his new list of missions for the day, instead grabbing a bunch of D-Rank missions to complete throughout the day. He wasn’t going to get any breaks any time soon, and in fact he didn’t even want a break from the work. The village's rainfall from earlier in the month hadn’t fully cleared out yet, his sword strapped to his side, showing that he had a weapon, and he wasn’t exactly afraid of using it. He had been tasked with one of the Kirigakure guardsmen to help monitor the village with them. She had black hair, she was a bit shorter then he was, she was rather soft spoken, a cigarette hanging out of her mouth while she took a drag out of the small little tube of the paper. Blowing out the small amount of smoke into the sky, Shiro’s eyes slightly stung from the smoke blowing into his face from the sudden winds.

The both of them stood right near the gate, keeping guard for any kind of trouble or some kind of interesting event to happen, people making their way through the village, a few of them looking like punks that might be good to make into new kinds of ninja.. They would just need to be whipped up into shape. Shiro knew very well how hopeless some people felt within this village that felt almost abandoned to time. He couldn’t bare to see how his village looked, the people in it so small, so few, no other Hyuga’s in sight that could help him, he instead was considered a Yuki clan member, his white hair was one of the key things that made him well known, that stark white, matching with his pale skin and pure blue eyes when not activating the Byakugan from his own family title. He was given the last name of the Hyuga’s, perhaps as a warning to not mess with him. Yet he felt no different, not any different from the village that he called home, he was alone, just like everyone else. The one showing him the ropes turned her head, her cigarette burning nearly to her fingers before placing it in between her own fingers, the small painful twinge of the sides of her fingers, as though she was trying to feel something, to do something, Shiro only had his usual smile now appeared on his lips, trying to converse with his fellow shinobi.

“So… What got you into smoking?” He asked, her head spun towards him, locking eyes with the boy before a small sigh escaped her mouth. Shiro seemed to have hit a slight sore spot with the guard in question, her hand went down to slide at another Cigarette, yet Shiro only gave her shoulder a light pat, he didn’t want to see a fellow shinobi like this, his pride, his will to make this place better, it was willing to explode outwards towards anyone that he could find. His cocky smile never faltered, even as her glare continued as she had left her box of cigarettes in her pocket. Taking one last look before motioning Shiro to follow her.
“I… ended up failing my team. This one mission, it ended in horror, my team was counting on me to detonate the paper bombs surrounding the building, yet my hand slipped, a Kunai was lodged into my back as I heard the screams…” She remembered the horror of seeing one of her teammates, his head dislodged from his body in swing from the blade of the enemy missing ninja. Her hands tightening in rage, Shiro could only think about what she was feeling right now, the amount of rage, the anger, the sorrow. All of the horrors that befall ninja, it all made sense as to why people would fall back onto those vices, those temptations.

“So, anything else you wanna know kid? Cause there’s a few guys over there that look suspicious, don’t you have the Byakugan?” She said with a small chuckle, Shiro rolling his eyes before the veins around the sides of his head began to focus, seeing that there was a dagger concealed on one of them, his left sleeve having a small dagger wrapped carelessly around his forearm. He seemed to be hiding it from the few border guards that they had. Shiro only walked over towards the much larger man, the man's face, large, bearded look, a small scar lining down his botched up nose, like someone had smashed a hammer right into his skull. Shor almost felt bad for him, the few men beside him looked rather weak in comparison, yet the burly gentlemen before him, Shiro heard the small crack in his bones as he got up, yet the Hyuga rose his hand up, pointing as his left arm, already knowing that there was a weapon hidden underneath.

“Come on man, we’re people who love weapons, why are you even hiding one?” He asked, confused as to why the man would even use a dagger, perhaps it was for some kind of intimidation or a last resort. Shiro didn’t care, and the guy was asking for a fight when he spoke, his voice filled with cocky shrill, Shiro was taken aback by how high his voice actually was, yet the sudden pull of the dagger had his swords butt being slammed into the mans chin, sending him flying upwards of about 2 meters, his speed was impressive, the other two lackeys behind the man slinking away as Shiro motioned for a few of the guards to take the large man. His sword being sheathed right as he turned back towards his superior, who had a small smile plastered on her face with a new cig lit up.

“Nice speed kid, where’d you learn how to do that?”

Shiro’s grin held up strong, even as he knew that it was a simple spur of the moment, yet he wanted to show off, it was that passionate showing off that might lead to his undoing, yet he had ambition inside of his very bones. One that would show themselves eventually when the time came for it. Shiro was happy to see that the one who looked so gloomy and down had a smile appear on her face. He felt the same kind of fun that

“Just natural talent! Why else do you think I'm still alive here!" He shouted back towards the guardswomen. Her small smirk continued as he strode on back towards her. His hand gripped the sheath tightly as he walked. The people around him were in awe of the sheer strength and ease of which he took out the massive man who had been hiding a dagger. Although his specific purpose was unknown, Shiro was too focused now on the final part of his guard duties. Putting all the documents together and handing them towards the registry in the front of the gates to be sent back to the Kage for checking up. Shiro was unsure if the Kage ever seemed to check up on anything here, his face showing a hint of annoyance when the clerk dropped the folder to the side, stacking on top of a bunch of other reports that were due to be sent to their leader. What a joke, that all of their hard work was for nothing, it made him annoyed just thinking about how many people in here were either going through strife… Or what he went through when he was young and didn’t know any better. The people were suffering, there were vagrants and mongrels tearing apart the village from both the outside and inside, and all he could do was stand there and let it happen.

His thoughts were cut off by a hand grasping at his shoulder, moving him out of the way of the reception, his Byakugan flared for a moment, seeing that it was the guards women who had shown him the ropes, and had escorted him now to the side for a moment.

“Jeez, and I thought I had it rough, you using stuff kid?” Her words had Shiro scoff, brushing off his clothing before responding with a cheeky grin. His confidence overlaying that he must have looked stupid back there, yet he could only hide behind his own smile. That same smile that was etched upon his face, staring back at the woman with the nearly used up cigarette hanging from her small mouth. She looked almost.. Disappointed at him.

“Why would I? No need to impede myself on such formalities like drugs, those are for those that can’t handle themselves. I have no use when this village is on the line-”

“So you believe you should handle the village's weight on your shoulders?!” She snapped back, Shiro face turned, forming into a glare towards the Guardswomen as she stood there, her teeth sinking into the nearly burnt cig before taking it out, flicking the piece onto the ground before crushing it.

“If you truly want to help the village, then do whatever you can do now, it’s only a matter of time, not a lot of people are around here anymore. I sense… new potential rising from the surface sometime soon, yet keep yourself safe, I don’t want anyone else dying on my watch or within the village itself, if you need anyone’s help, simply call for Youai Kagatsuko,” She said as she stepped closer to the kid, Shiro standing there in shock at her wanting to help him, he only let out a small snort, giving a small nod towards his fellow shinobi at her offering to help him. His mind wandered off to his own thoughts about names, and how people usually would give them in greeting. Their voices mix together like a symphony of notes pounding against the ears. Everyone seemed to want to give out their names almost immediately, as a name means so much to everyone, to everything that someone holds dear, they will always have their name to remember them by. It’s why he remembers his own mothers name, almost as much as his own. He’d constantly chant out her name in his head when she was sick, having learned it from such a young age was rather strange, especially given that he was a young boy who had no idea what the world had in stored for him, yet that made him ready, it made him curious to see the world and what he could do to it. It was only a matter of time until everything fell back into place, until everyone began to focus on what he would do.

“I-I…” He’d pause, the first time in a while he wouldn’t be running his mouth off to someone just because they talked to him. He could finally be free, “Thank you,”

With that, Shiro gave a small nod towards Youai, wondering if she truly was there to support him and to make sure that he could do what needed to be done for the village. He tightened his hands, that smile reappearing before long with his eyes focused directly in front of him, never looking back on what he’d do next.

The next mission on his radar was doing a mostly basic Patrol, being an intern for this first patrolling mission and his first task being to patrol around the village ninja headquarters, he’d expect to see so many more ninja’s running around, mainly that of the local excitable Genin or even the slightly more brazen and confident Chunin running around the village. The constant chatter of his earlier years when even in Kiri’s imperfect state, it still felt like the village was just a husk for bandits and thieves to roam around the premises. His thoughts still wandering, shifting around in his head for the answers to all of his questions about what had happened within the village to cause such a drop in shinobi. His steps were alone, making noise while in a nearly empty space certainly would be a cause to try and attack the genin. Yet he was mainly confused, dumbfounded by the emptiness of the ninja village headquarters. Walking into the place, there were a few clerks running about, mainly to organize papers and files for them to hopefully get a response from the Mizukage. It seemed the guards weren’t the only ones who seemed to be awaiting some kind of response, the village was hanging on by just a tiny thread, the smallest amount of force could snap everything that had been building upon itself. There needed to be some kind of change, some kind of choice that could be held where he could do something about what was going on inside of Kirigakure. The whole village might have to depend on someone in the future. His eyes, unmoving, allowing his area of vision to remain as it was, he was like a sentry, constantly keeping surveillance of the area. This place was certainly needing a makeover, the paint was slowly beginning to peel away from the walls, and small cracks had formed from the rain earlier this month. The people all around him were frantic, some rushing past him, others were cursing out that they just needed a bit more to cover. Just what was happening in the village had sickened him to his very core. That no one seemed to know what was even happening.

His attention focused on mainly keeping the place secure, no amount of fighting the system right now could help him, he had to wait, give himself a small moment of time where he could just keep himself cool and calm. Better to not risk everything around him, then to end up getting most others killed if someone or something were to strike at Kirigakure. The people weren’t strong enough yet, they didn’t have enough firepower to go through with everything else that was happening. They seemed to have lost a lot of people somewhat, just how many of their ninjas had gone and died for some kind of cause… It was all simply one big sick joke, one that Shiro didn’t want to partake in anymore. It was funny, that there were so many people who were strong, and he wanted to become the strongest around. Blue eyes staring down at the building all around him, his Byakugan having deactivated the moment he had left the actual headquarters of the building. His mind was still wandering about his own thoughts, it was kinda annoying being so alone, no one to compare to at this point in time. Sure Rezyx was around, yet the thought of a spar with the wild fellow was super appealing, he’d have to wait just a few moments longer. Shiro was focused, mainly on his goal of at least finally being fulfilled, of being the one to become the strongest within his own village, he just had to… Pull a few strings here and there… It wouldn’t be long then, his blood boiling at the thought of becoming something within the village, he was ready for it, the opportunity was beginning to show itself so much more now than ever. He loved the craziness of it all, the complete opposite of what he loved spending his time doing, it was like making a massive canvas, and drawing the Kanji for “Rise” on it, the rise of the Hyuga within the village, the reminder that he was here. His usual smile plastered across his face began to widen, eyes scanning the area for signs of anyone else who was foolish enough to come up to the ninja headquarters, to dare test this genin’s patience. Oh how fun it was, to think of oneself as above so many others on a totem pole, when he had not seen above the very cliff that he wished to strive past. The effort of becoming the strongest, that was his true goal in life, to feel the muscles in his body ache with the stress of swinging his blade around the area.He wanted to see it all, to feel it all come rushing through his own body as a result of his progress. He wished to see the village grow from his own mind, to give the village a leader, his mother would love that he bet, eyes showcasing how far he was willing to go, he had that sorta crazed look, the one you’d see when someone wants something so much, such an intensity, it breathes fire into their very soul. The spiraling view from around him seemed to stop, and for a sudden amount of motions he watched with his Byakugan, a few individuals running around the headquarters, one of them carrying a chain with a dagger at the end of it. They looked more like crooks or fiends then any kind of low class criminal, perhaps they were here to simply join in becoming Kirigakure ninja, yet that certainly wouldn’t be the case now. Not with how much they were packing weaponry wise. It was similar to that of a Kusarigama, yet instead of it being a sickle like blade, it instead was a dagger, the man had a tattoo on him, one with a small viper with a poison drop right below his eye. A tattoo like that was one that showed he had confidence in himself, something that Shiro could admire, the confidence to put yourself into that kind of danger, he would applaud the man, yet hopefully the man who’d he’d call Viper would be anywhere close to that of a challenge. A few shinobi that were inside of the headquarters did seem quite new, yet Shiro wouldn’t need their help, not for this kind of thing anyways. He could tell they didn’t have much in the way of chakra, his hand grasped for the blade strapped to his hip, he would have drawn it much quicker.. If his mastery over it was anywhere close to those that actually focused on the blade.

“Oi! You three!” Shiro shouted across the headquarters towards the three who were standing there, Viper flicked his head immediately at the 5 '11 white haired shinobi. His face now wearing a small grin as he noted that Shiro seemed to be somewhat of a threat to them, yet he didn’t know just how much of a threat one single boy could be against all of the odds. He was going to have at least some amount of fun with this headstrong genin that called out to them. Yet Shiro… he wouldn’t give them the opportunity to even think for a moment longer. As doing a patrol, it was always important to make sure that the people were safe…

And that the targets were eliminated as quickly as possible, yet to make sure they weren’t simply some kind of travelers, he’d ask them, “What are you guys doing here? Shinobi registration is this way!”

His thumb aiming directly behind him towards where the gates were, weeding out to see what their response was. Yet it seemed viper had different plans, his Chained Kunai suddenly shot forwards, the length of the chain was impressive, about 10 meters at least, Shiro was able to dodge the attack through side stepping, a smile plastered on his face at the fact that they immediately chose to fight. It was good that he could stretch out a tiny bit now. His hands were aching the feeling of hitting or gripping onto something. Shiro was quick, in an instant he covered the ten meters that the group of three were at, his hand immediately slamming right into Vipers chest, sending him backwards a few feet. The punch would have killed a normal person, as it was aimed to strike directly at his tenketsu points right where his heart was, yet he was able to  protect himself. One of his lackeys, the one to Shiro’s left, aiming a Kunai directly at Shiro’s head, upon seeing the attempt at the kill shot, Shiro ducked, elbow shooting out and slamming the man to his left directly in the jaw. The one to Shiro’s right was aiming for a stab directly towards his back, the Genin however was faster. Shiro took his right, dashing that way as the other man nearly fell down on his other mate, almost having the both of them kill each other was kinda funny… in a dark way anyways. He loved this rush, the feeling of two people trying to kill you made him feel alive. His sword being drawn, best to get some practice with it now then potentially never have any practice with it in the future. His eyes flexed, the veins bulging right along his sockets and sides of his face as his Byakugan fully activated, allowing his field of vision to encompass all three of his attackers. To which Viper had sent another attack directly towards Shiro’s back, Shiro, seemingly to the surprise of all three of them, dodged the attack without even looking behind him, almost as if he could see the future, he immediately turned around, his sword held upwards in a 45 degree angle, a left diagonal slash with his right hand, his elbow shielding his mouth and nose. Coming down like a strike of lightning, his sword cleaved the man in two. The blood staining his blade, the other two lackeys were dumbfounded that their own leader was easily dealt with. Viper’s face was in shock, total disbelief that it seemed that a mere child, who’s smile was still apparent even after dealing the finishing blow. Shiro swished the blood off of his blade, that was a fun little trick of his to do. To flick the blood off of his blade.

“So~ You two wanna be next?” His head turned around to face them, his eyes now a clear silverish white. The veins are popping and flexing underneath the stress that it puts underneath the eyes. Shiro, using the Byakugan to stare at them, knew that they were terrified, yet he only had his same small smile plastered on his face. Flicking his head, the two immediately buggered off, hopefully they decided to leave the villagers alone, Shiro eyeing the corpse before notifying the headquarters that a body was outside. Well, at least now he had something to report that they could take care of. A few of the shinobi in there immediately jumped out of their desks, rushing outside in order to scrape off a body now covered in blood and in two different sections. Shiro smirked, knowing that now, he was at least able to give a good report of what he did on his patrol. That was the second highlight of his day, a fight like this you don’t really see happen most often, at least they didn’t have anything too advanced, but then he might have gotten even more enjoyment if they were actually capable opponents.

The final two missions weren’t really anything all that super impressive or really fun, helping out the Kekada caln was actually super interesting for him at the start, meeting a few of the famed weaponsmiths of Kirigakure made him feel kinda honored to be with them. He was sure the sword strapped to his side was one such creation of them. However he’d have to commission something much better after all of these missions were complete. Which didn’t really take as long as he had expected. The delivery and help was quite simple, Shiro running around everywhere with his newfound speed. Managing to run around and help out for the village's shinobi. The people would really need something like this, something that could help them defend themselves in the future. He wore a smile the whole time, honestly the only time he didn’t was when someone had decided to try and mess with his own order, that being a girl around his age, potentially younger, pocketing a senbon before running away. Shiro had to formally and informally take the senbon from the girl… Only to find out she was one of the clan heads' daughters. He only sighed before getting back to work after a strict talking to from said clan head… He could at least not spoil his own child.

The final mission wasn’t anything else really, some minor construction help was in order, they needed to build a new building specifically for creating some kind of armor shop. Something like that, it certainly was something he could support, but it didn’t mean he had to be excited about working on it. Even if it was a small type of shop, it was something that he could at least, his mind wandered to Rezyx for a moment, curious if the aggressive young man would like that spar once in awhile, he seemed to crave action just as much as the Hyuga, whether or not Rezyx would win was a different beast entirely. Yet Shiro felt… Good… He felt brand new in a way he never thought he would beforehand. He held his same smile, just as he was walking down around the city of Kirigakure, witnessing the people walk around now outside in the slightly less muddy roads. This place needed a lot of work, but he was all for some amount of challenge in making this place right.
