Daylight… sun kissed stoned, warmth rising from the rubble as heat beamed from the heavens. A land long since discarded — Iwagakure. Blather had it that this once fortified nation was the sufferer by the hands of one of its own. The dark web of tales and stitching would also have it be known that the one solely responsible was none other than their own Kage at the time. To think…demolished by the one tasked with your thwarting. One must ponder, was it for the greater good, a necessary ending of a village history to secure its secrets? Or was it for self preservation at the cost of many that looked up to them? Pondering did the ponderer.

“Aoki! Aoki!” Effervescent chants of his name came from the little one, Takara. A child that he came to know to be no more than 9 years of age. Bond servant to a camp of men, slave traders that seek fortune over morality. Traded her siblings to different democracy far and wide. The Demon would wonder exactly what help this child in such gaiety. They happened upon a merchant along the way, there Aokidanza purchased her some clothes; sticking to the theme that she seem to adore — academy scholar of some sort. Her attachment to him cultivated rather quickly. Shortening his name, an annoyance that he would kill others for without hesitation. He allowed it from her.

Takara:

Young Takara skipped and hopped as she traverse the broken path. Earnestly light on her feet, not even a sound came from her jumping. Noting this he would continue to look forward, following behind her a meters length. “Aoki, what’s that up ahead? Looks like some sort of tent?” Pointing up ahead, she turned her head and frame to read his expression. She got little to nothing from doing that. Aokidanza was always the stoic sort, nothing left on the surface. “So it seems.” Acknowledged the inquiring with a lackadaisical tone. Pouting her face, Takara would motion to him and tug on his Kasaya and point with more tension. “Can we go there?”

With little to no reason to tell her no, he would sigh. “I see no reason why not.” They pair would head over towards the tent. Once there they would learn that it was a sit in tent, a cafe of some sort. From there he would notice the growling of her stomach. Her expression revealed that she was indeed hungry. He would wonder what did she eat sense being with those captors. It doesn’t matter, their dead now. “Go and have a seat. We are going to eat here.” The girl would do as she was told. Aokidanza ordered them something filling to eat and take it to the folding table. The two would sit and enjoy a meal together.

The Demon sat and observed the young girl, she seemed to be quite pleased with her meal. She ate enough for the both of them, even had seconds. “Aoki! That was so good. Thank you so much!” Cheery as ever, Takara wasn’t very hard to please, he was beginning to understand that. But still, it was strange to travel with another, someone so young and naive to the ways of the world. Looking to the distance he would reach into his robes, pulling out a map. Setting aside the used dishes that they ate from, placing the map flat he would trail his finger from where they were.

Takara showing some interest in this she stopped and observed keenly. The Demon would note this information about her. Two taps on the map. “Here, we’re going here next.” Her eyes would snap over to him. “There? Why? They don’t really come out. And they’ve long since disassemble their guard outpost between here and their village.” Information that was interesting to him. “Oh? And that doesn’t pique your interest, little one?” In a malicious tone, yet unthreatening to her. She would shrug her shoulders. “I guess so. But are we coming back? I’m not ready to leave this place for good. It’s all that I know after being captured.”

“If that is what you wish, we will return. I haven’t had my fill of this place either.” Words of assurance would raise her smile ever higher. They would stand and retrieve their map. Aoki allowing her to grab his rob would take out a coin from his person. Clutching it in his hand. “Haven Country…” within an instant a gleam would shine from his hand and he and Takara vanished.
