Enter Azumi Uchiha: Curse of the Sharingan 写輪眼! Empty Enter Azumi Uchiha: Curse of the Sharingan 写輪眼!

Mon Nov 09, 2020 11:34 pm
Azumi’s darkened onyx eyes stared at the empty chairs in her home in which her parents had typically sat. Her sight laid on them for unusually long due to how long they’d been unusually empty. Arms crossed against her chest, her face contorted into uneasiness. It had been days since she had last seen her parents. Granted, they did leave the village together for a mission but it was still strange that she had yet to hear from them for so long. Given that the two of them were experienced Jonin, it was not too strange that a mission would have them gone for several days at a time. However, this time was much longer than they’d ever been gone for. Letting a sigh escape her pink lips, her uneasiness began to cloud her mindscape. It wasn’t often that she allowed herself to become so paranoid. However, in this instance she had felt like something was off. Of course she, a lowly genin, couldn’t possibly understand the undertaking that it was to go on an extended village for the mission. Yet, over time she had become able to create a pattern of time in which most of them had been completed. Part of it was due to her analytical nature, but another part of it was borne from missing the company of her family. Despite the grievances she had with them, loving them was the only constant in her life. So much so that it caused her to halt her own dreams and ambitions for their benefit. It was times like this that she wished that they allowed her to pursue the path of a Shinobi. Maybe it would have eased her own anxieties if she had a more personal experience with how missions played out and reasons for extended periods without returning home. Pondering on this for a moment, she tried to make herself understanding of what could possibly be the hold up. It was possible that they simply had not been completing it on time. Such was to be expected from high ranking missions, surely there would be some delays in certain aspects of it. No. This time was different. They had been off schedule before but never for this long. Moreover, there was something eerie about the way higher ups had been handling the situation this time. In similar instances, Azumi typically found her way to the village officials to casually ask how the mission had been going when her parents had been later than she expected. Being the child of the shinobi in question, the fellow ninja were typically compliant in her questions that didn’t require them to share too many details of the mission. However, when she recently spoke to them due to her parents’ tardiness, their responses had felt so much different. Their answers were short and they did not want to answer as much of her questions. Furthermore, their faces when they spoke to her were something she could not get out of her head. Azumi could not help the feeling that it had been some kind of sympathy that was spelled across her face.

Turning her attention to the targets in her home’s foyer, Azumi would reach into her long sleeves, feeling for the compartments in which she hid various ninja tools. Feeling the chilled metallic stars against her warm hands, the muscle memory forged from constant training and practice seemed to activate in her head. Azumi threw one pair towards the center of the room and then another pair from her other hand towards the pair that she initially launched. Narrowing her eyes, she attempted to follow the path that the two other shuriken would take towards the middle of the room. Upon deducing their likely trajectory, she threw the other shuriken from her hand in a way that would cause the others to ricochet and eventually lead them towards the targets she expected them to land at. Azumi watched closely at the second pair of shuriken that she threw. Analyzing the path she threw them at for their success. With the clink of metal, the shuriken would ricochet off of each other and towards the targets placed around the foyer. Just as quickly as she had launched them, they all impaled the material of the targets with an audible thud. A scowl would come across Azumi’s face as she looked at where they had ended up. The concept of the ricochet had been effective, yet their place on the targets were not ideal. They were close to the bullseye but not close enough to ensure success in a real life battle. As she walked towards the targets to retrieve the shuriken once again, she frowned. If only she could see their intended path quicker. Of course this would be possible if she had access to that technique. However, it was almost as if that would never be possible due to her parents’ overbearing nature regarding her pursuit of ninjutsu and the way of the Shinobi. In fact, if they had known that she had converted the living room of their home into a makeshift training facility, she could not even imagine their reactions to such disobedience. Ironically enough, the thought of them scolding her brought a smile to her face during this uncertain time. Letting a sigh escape her lips, she returned to the center of the room, shuriken in both hands as she recalled what she had done previously and tried to correct it. Perhaps analyzing her mistakes and weaknesses would be the key to improving her current performance. The girl wouldn’t know until she tried after all. Returning to her previous stance, Azumi would eye each target one last time before repeating the same sequence. Altering her trajectory from before slightly, the Uchiha launched the shuriken from each hand, setting them on a different path from previously. Once the first pair made their way to the center of the room, Azumi would launch the other set of shuriken from her left sleeve to meet the pair in the middle. The girl threw this pair with much more power as to increase their speed and striking power due to them being the stimulant for the manipulated shuriken path. Narrowing her eyes toward them once again, she would watch the formation play slowly in her head as she expected it. Once the two pairs of metals collided, they would be launched towards their manipulated paths as she watched. As the shuriken began to ricochet, she watched the collision closely and what followed after it. Quickly, the shuriken would be launched towards the target in a similar manner as before. However, her reaction to the result had not been as displeased as before. After a pout of her lip, Azumi noticed that their placement had been much more accurate than before. They seemed to be several inches closer than before. Yet, they had still not been exactly in the center of the target which obviously left much more to be desired from the kunoichi’s current skills. Again, Azumi made her way to each of the targets but this time with a much more fervent spirit. The realization that she had become better in such a short time was already encouraging. Often, she felt as if she had besmirched her clan’s name due to the rate at which she progressed. However, she had to remind herself that most of this was due to the way her parents stifled her growth in Shinobi arts especially. Rather than encouraging her to get strong to fight for the village, in many ways they explicitly prevented her from doing so. Even though she for the most part had been content with the path she had taken and genuinely loved serving at the Konoha hospital, she obviously still yearned to fulfill her dreams and ambitions. Which is why she found herself secretly training in her parents’ absence. In fact, it had felt rather strange for her to be wearing her Shinobi Headband inside her house due to the fact they had no inclination that she had actually ended up taking the Graduation Exam and for all intents and purposes was indeed a Kunoichi of the Leaf. This yearning was also what led her to the center of the room for the third time. Keeping in mind all that she had analyzed from her previous attempts, Azumi felt much more secure in her standing at the moment. At the rate in which she improved, she was confident that this would be the time that she successfully achieved her goal. Her stance seemed to be completely different from the two previous times in which she attempted to launch the shuriken in succession. The two previous attempts replayed in her mind perfectly, memorizing the movements she made and the path in which the shuriken had moved due to the way that her body moved. The key in mastering their trajectory was in mastering the way her body moved, right down to the smallest muscle movements. The effect of the shuriken ricocheting off each other could only do so much if the foundation of their direction was not completely ideal. Taking a deep breath, Azumi replayed these events several more times in her head before finally making a move. Changing positions a final time, Azumi reached into her sleeves again, taking a pair of metallic metal stars into her small hands.

“HA!!”

The sound left her mouth with a small grunt as she launched the first pair of shuriken with a completely new manner of throwing and intended direction. Every way she had moved her body had been different from the two other times in which she attempted this sequence. Once the first pair had been approaching the center of the room, Azumi launched the supplementary pair of shuriken towards them with a curved toss. This curve had allowed the second pair to approach the center of the room much quicker, meeting the first pair. Her face contorted as this action ensued, unable to do anything but watch and observe as she had done the two previous times.

“Go!”

The second pair would meet the first pair with another audible clink. This time the collision looked much cleaner and deliberate than the two other times. It didn’t seem that there was any wasted energy that went into the collision. Every ounce of force that she put into the sequence was used to launch them towards her intended targets. As a result of this collision, two shuriken would be launched rapidly in the opposite direction towards their respective targets and the others would be launched towards the two remaining targets. With four thuds, each shuriken would finally make it to their targets. Looking at each of them, Azumi’s smile would grow wider with every single target that her eyes laid upon. For the first time, every shuriken found their way right onto the bullseye in the center of the target. It seemed the way in which she had thrown them this time were adequate for the result. For the first time in a while, Azumi regained new faith in herself as a kunoichi. For so long she felt as if she had been wasting her potential. Wasting any possibility that she had to be respected within this Ninja world. This is where her and her parents' values had fundamentally differed. Despite the fact that they themselves had worked for the Leaf as Shinobi, it seemed that this was something they did not want their daughter to experience. However, being surrounded by it would have been more than enough to spark her rebellious curiosity had she not already been so determined to become stronger by any means necessary. Of course this required learning the skills and jutsu to do so. This could only be achieved by training and immersing herself within this Shinobi world. Which was why she trained like this in secret. Just like that, the smile which had found itself upon her face, was wiped away with the reminder that not only would her parents not approve of her current actions, but that she actually had no idea where they’d been in the first place. Azumi figured that training would have been a good distraction for the time being but that had not been the case. The thought of her parents’ well being still permeated every thought that she currently had.

A scowl came across her lips upon realizing that she would not be satisfied at all until she had confirmation of their whereabouts. In fact, she was practically driving herself crazy trying to figure out where they had been and if they were even safe. Taking several steps forward, Azumi would make her way towards the targets in her living room and collect the shuriken once again. Feeling satisfied in the progress she made, and knowing that she would be unable to focus on training much longer, she returned the shuriken back into the pockets in her sleeves. Moreover, she would also go around the room taking down the targets from their places around her foyer. The last thing she wanted was for her parents to return and see that she had indeed still been pursuing the way of Shinobi. It would surely put a dent in her future plans to continue growing stronger in secret. After removing the targets, she would walk over to a special place in her living. Lowering to a crouch, she would knock around the wood paneling on the ground before finding the set of planks that had a hollow sound to her knock. Azumi would lift these panels and under it were various ninja tools and training equipment. Placing the targets in there, she would replace them for the rest of her ninja tools, taking them into their designated spots in her sleeves.

Rising from the floor, Azumi would rise to her feet, eyes fixed with a new resolve. Azumi could not keep letting her mind wander to the worst or best possibilities. The lack of control that she had in this situation was flaring up her already neurotic nature. It was becoming increasingly difficult to think of much else outside of the welfare of her family. After all, they were all that Azumi had. Aside from her brother who was just as missing at the moment, Azumi was completely alone with this grief. Even though nothing had been confirmed, a deep sadness had already been dwelling in her since the first time that she had spoken with village officials regarding her parents’ disappearance. In fact, they had been just as confused by her questions. Leading her to believe that they themselves did not have much of an answer to explain her parents’ extended disappearance. It seemed that no one besides her would care to find answers to this conundrum. Of course she had more reason to look for them due to her close connection to them. Other Shinobi who were impartial and unbiased would likely be quick to attribute any mishaps to the way of Shinobi life. And yet, despite wanting to pursue this life herself, Azumi simply could not accept the fact that they had no information and no leads. They expected her to blindly put her face into the mission process and hope that all would be fine in time. Not only did she find this to be naive but it was not comforting in the slightest. Putting faith in the mission process also meant accepting that things could go wrong and casualties can occur. These were possibilities and realities that she refused to acknowledge and accept. It seemed that she would have to go out and find answers on her own, by any means necessary. Heading towards the door, Azumi would grab the deep purple cloak to wrap around her black tunic and skirt met with white thigh high stockings. The Uchiha crest would be embossed on the back of her cloak, waving as she left her house and went on to walk the streets of the Uchiha district.

Expecting to be greeted by the typical warm smiles of her fellow Clansmen, Azumi was met by smiles but they had been significantly different from the ones that she had been used to. They were still smiles but they seemed to be more sympathetic than in a greeting member. Azumi had returned the smile but she could not shake the sensation that their faces struck in her heart. Analyzing their faces and muscle movements in them, they seemed to be strained and unnatural. This became visibly clear to her once she recalled memories of past smiles and compared the two. This led her to believe that news had spread of her parents’ missing state. It seemed that the more people that became aware of this situation, the more real to her it became. Perhaps leaving her house was not the best choice. At least in her home she could escape the looks of sympathy that had quite literally exacerbated the state of anxiety that she had been finding herself in. It was making her worries and fears that much real. If other people had begun to think the worse than she had been thinking of even worse than them. The fear was nearly crippling. As the thoughts raged in her mind, her legs became much weaker, every step she took being an arduous task. In addition to this her stomach began to turn, inducing a significant amount of nausea in her. In fact, it felt like she could become physically sick at any moment. Why did they look at her like that? Did they know something she didn’t? Perhaps they were merely sympathetic to her current state of uncertainty. After all, they too had families in which they loved and cared about. The intense compassion to loved ones and an undying inclination to protect them was something she felt that all the Uchiha shared with one another. It was possible that they were able to perceive her feelings through the look upon her face. After all, if she had been using her eyes to perceive their emotions, they likely used theirs to perceive hers. Her face likely read like an incredibly sad story of uncertainty and longing. Longing for answers and longing for the ones she loved.

Even though it seemed that she had gotten lost within observing the emotions and feelings of others as she walked through the Uchiha District, her trek had not been without direction. Azumi had been making her way towards the Uchiha Police Station. There she knew that she would have more luck with attempting to figure out what exactly had been going on with her parents’ mission. As she walked there, her eyes felt much blurrier. Instinctively wiping away at her face, Azumi found it strange that no tears were wiped away from her eyes. Perhaps this situation had more of a physical effect on her than she realized. Regardless, she powered through on her path towards the Police Station. The looks of others were beginning to drive her mad. All she could see was the sympathy in which they had for her. She did not want it. She did not need it. All she needed was to know what exactly had been going on with her parents. The last thing that she wanted was to see all of their presumptuous faces, painting realities for her that did not exist. Azumi vehemently rejected these realities and possibilities. Her aim in arriving at the Uchiha Police Station was to get answers or intel catered to her. After all, an Uchiha was much likely to cooperate with another Uchiha, especially if it involved one of their own. Their capability to love was wide and the extent they went to protect those they loved went even further. This gave her faith that they would be more willing than village officials to give her any information that they might have known. However, she could not shake the feeling that those watching her were almost expecting her to head in that direction. It seemed like it was the only place at the moment that would make sense for her to be. They likely had thought of what they would do if they were in her situation. They too would likely try to get answers for themselves. As they looked at her, they would also look in the direction of the Police Station. Were they waiting for her to head there? Were they expecting her?

Stop it.

Azumi told herself. The girl knew that these incessant questions were not doing anything to quell the fears that had been festering in her mind for quite some time now. There was nothing productive about her filling her head with dark hypotheticals that only served to aid her descent into madness. In fact she could already feel herself slipping from rational thinking. The girl knew she would have to gather herself before she made it to the Police Station, knowing she was not likely to be taken seriously had she been erratic and scatterbrained. If she were to get answers she would have to be composed and articulate. Her words could not be stained with too much concern and anxiety as she knew this would make her seem unreliable for any information. Still her emotions were getting the better part of her the closer she became to the Police Station. Her legs became weak once more as she approached the building. It was not until that moment that she realized she had not begun to order her thoughts and rehearse what she would say once she got there. But truthfully, what could she say? ‘She missed her mommy and daddy’? She was likely to get dismissed and perhaps even ridiculed if she approached it in that manner. But still, this was the first thing she could think of saying. It was as if this time without them had caused her to regress into an immature state in which the only thing that could pacify her needs was the appearance of her parents after all this time. All that she had learned on how to conduct herself as a Kunoichi and the official manner of addressing comrades seemed to be slipping from her consciousness. They took up too much space in her thoughts. The need to learn about the whereabouts of her parents had taken precedence over any politically correct way to request the information that she so desperately needed. The closer she came to the Police Station, the weaker her body became in response to its appearance. Taking the necessary steps was a struggle like no other. She could not remember the last time she had pushed herself to such an extent from simply walking forward. However, paired with the expressions from others she analyzed and her own concerns, it became much more difficult to approach the building. Before long, Azumi would finally reach the foot of the steps that led up to the Uchiha Police Station. For a moment, she stood still briefly analyzing the building. Embossed on the highest point of the building was the Uchiha crest within the Police Force logo. For some reason, this had been somewhat comforting to the young Kunoichi. It was a symbol that for better or worse, she was among her own kind. Perhaps they would have more empathy for her than the other village Jonin had when she inquired about her parents’ wellbeing. Regardless, they’d be still limited by the information that they currently had available to them. Nevertheless, Azumi needed to do something besides waiting in her home for her parents to arrive. Even though the looks from others had been so worrisome, experiencing them was still better than sitting in her house and driving herself mad with possibilities. Finally reaching the entrance, unsteady hands would rise from her sides to push open the doors of the Police Station, greeted by the bright lights that lit up the lobby.

It seemed that they all intended to manifest a supportive face in response to her arrival but they had all melted into the one of sympathy that every other person along her path had given her. Quite frankly she had grown tired of these looks. All she wanted was for them to look her in her eyes and tell her all that they knew about this situation. It seemed like getting that out of them would be complicated. After all, aside from their sympathetic expressions, none of them ventured to meet her gaze for whatever reason. This was before words had ever left her mouth. They likely were expecting her for some time, which only made her even more uneasy. Again, questions returned to her mind and they only increased as she observed their facial expressions. The slight yet constricted muscle movements revealed an underlying tension between the men present at the front desk. Azumi tried to ignore these expressions but they prevented her from properly ordering her thoughts. All the preparation, if any, that she had done before arriving was undermined by the sensation that watching their faces created. Finally reaching their desk, Azumi’s face contorted as she met their faces once again.

“Uchiha Uzuno and Uchiha Akato have yet to return their mission. They were set to return several days ago and have yet to do so. I need to know their whereabouts or their last known location...please.

Uttering the words were like chewing on glass. They could likely hear how painful it was for her to utter out the sentence. It was the first time that she had said the words out loud once again since she had initially asked for information from the village officials. It had been so hard for her to utter the words because of the fact that the last time she had been shut down so quickly by the village jonin who had been overseeing the details of her parents’ mission. Now that she had arrived at the Uchiha Police Station, Azumi had been hoping for a different reaction to her questions. She needed a different reaction. At the moment her mind was filled with nothing but concern and love for her parents as well as an innate desire to protect them at any cost. Azumi did not think much of what exactly she would do if she got the answers she needed but she would worry about that later. All that she could think of was getting the information. The girl would figure out the rest later.  For the moment she just needed to be armed with the information as it would become her most valuable asset in the coming future.

“Azumi--”

The man at the front desk began, finally breaking the silence since her statement. The way that he spoke caused her face to contort further. He seemed to be talking very delicately to her. In his face she could discern feelings of sympathy and other mournful emotions expressed upon his countenance. Her eyebrows narrowed as he said her name. It felt like it had been so long since she heard it from the mouth of another. Due to how secluded she felt in the last few days, it felt like she had ceased to exist. For all she could think about was her experience and reality. It was hard for her to think about things like the village or even the overall success of their mission. All she wanted was confirmation of their status. Something to cling on and focus her attention toward rather than hypotheticals.

Please.”

Azumi pleaded, eyes locking with her fellow Uchiha clansmen. He surely understood the emotions that Azumi held dear to her as experiencing love intensely was something that was typically shared amongst many in the Uchiha clan. Thus was the reason for her current appeal to emotions she was attempting to use upon the man in front of her. Her eyes were fixed upon his features, observant for any signs she could read from his face. Granted he himself was an Uchiha and was likely working towards masking his emotions for the most part but her eyes remained on him, perhaps more focused on him than he was at trying to conceal the way he really felt. It was fruitless against her ever analytical eyes. They paid attention to every single detail that his facial expression made, looking for any insight into the thoughts that had been going on in his head.

Just as he had been ready to say something to the girl, both of their attention was captured by a group of Jonin who walked around the corner of the hallway in the building. Clad in their flak jackets, each of the Shinobi walked in unison together along with several members of the Uchiha police force. Azumi could not help but feel somewhat relieved at their presence. It likely meant that they too would have insight on the information that the Uchiha kunoichi was so desperate to learn. Perhaps they would be much more willing to let her know certain details of the mission that they knew. Better yet, maybe they would give her the coordinates that her parents were last located at. In any event, she certainly felt different about asking than she did before. Azumi already could see through analyzing their faces that they would be much more cooperative than they had been before. The man at the front desk had stopped trying to speak to her when the other group of ninja arrived. Azumi suspected it was because he likely knew why she had arrived at the Police Station that day and knew that the men that had been approaching her were more likely to aid in her pursuit for knowledge regarding the whereabouts of her parents than he was. A small smile would threaten to tug at her lips as this relief she felt seeing the men swelled over her.

In response to her small smile she could not help but notice that their faces were not exactly reassuring. This worried her into thinking that perhaps they would be reluctant again to share any information regarding the mission once again. This caused her heart to sink slightly, knowing this would bring her back to square one. In fact, all of her faith in trying to find her parents on her own hinged on getting even the slightest details from village officials. WIth this information it would be easier for her to take matters in her own hand. Such details were likely classified and had probably been the cause of their previous aversion. Yet, she could not accept this once again. It had to be different this time. It had been so long since her last follow up that they too had to know something was amiss. Matter of fact, they should not have been surprised by her reappearance at all. They too would have been just as persistent had the people in question been one of their beloved family members. Recognizing one of the men walking in the center of the group as someone who she had reached out to before, she quickly turned her attention to him.

“Do you have any new information regarding the mission of Uchiha Uzuno and Uchiha Akato?!”

Just as the words left Azumi’s mouth, she had wished that she had ordered them much more properly and calmly. However, it was all that could leave her mouth once she saw the man from before. He was likely frustrated with her constant asking of their status. It was probably unbecoming of a child of Shinobi and a Kunoichi herself. It was an unspoken rule to follow the mission process and the etiquette that came along with it. This involved respecting the privacy and sanctity of a mission. And yet, she found herself unable to do this considering the stakes that this mission had and all the hypothetical possibilities that had been playing in her mind since she had gotten news of the skewed timing of their mission.

“Azumi....you should follow us, there are some things you should know…”

Said the man whom she had posed the question to. Her shoulders relaxed from the tense state they had been in. It seemed like she did not need to say much in order for her wishes to be met. It came as a relief that she did not have to pester the man as much as before. He seemed to be willing to let her know about the situation. No...it was more than that. Her eyes narrowed at his face once again. Not only did the Jonin seem to be much more compliant but the expression on his face was much softer. Before, he had a generally stoic demeanor even in the way that he spoke to her. Previously, he’d been reluctant to say much of anything to her, much less disclose details of a mission. Yet on this day he was willing to part information with her. It was a strange sensation to feel throughout all the other emotions that she felt.

“What? What is it?!

Azumi asked in an erratic and neurotic voice. Once she heard how she sounded out loud, her heart began to beat even faster. The words felt right out of a story book, the desperation in her voice had sounded tragically familiar. These analyses only caused her anxiety to increase. The next few moments felt as if they had been moving in slow motion. The weakness that she had felt walking to the Police Station had returned. The only thing that seemed to remain steadfast was her gaze that remained fixed upon the group of men, specifically the one speaking, Her eyes began to discern every detail of their facial expressions, scanning them for every nonverbal cue and form of communication that they had been displaying. All of them seemed reluctant to answer her question. She knew how intense and high strung she sounded but she could not be asked with making her words sound more polite.

“Your parents...something….happened…”

His words caused her dark eyes to widen in response. The fear and anxiety in which she felt was nothing in comparison to what she had been feeling after she heard his words. The suspicion she wished would not be confirmed had left his mouth in a way she had been fearing. It was as if one of the worst hypotheticals that she had developed within her head had been playing out right in front of her. The eyes that had been tracking their every movement soon began to retrace every single one of their steps. Her black eyes traced back to the door leading to the room which they came from. The thoughts that filled her head were terrifying, yet she knew she would not be able to think straight if she did not analyze everything for herself. As her eyes found the door, the group of men seemed to become significantly more nervous. Their reactions had confirmed her fears and suspicions.

“I need to see…”

The girl finally whispered, causing their movements to become more flurried and assertive as they made their way towards her.

“That isn’t a good ide--”

Her dark eyes seemed to burn through his body before her anger came to a boiling point.

“I need to see it myself!”

Azumi exclaimed, interrupting the man’s docile suggestion. Such an outburst was very out of character for the typically obedient and mild mannered kunoichi. Yet with so much on the line, she had long abandoned her polite sensibilities for the sake of getting to the bottom of the fate of her parents. Her vision began to blur as she began to push past the Jonin who she realized were now blocking her from moving any further. It seemed as though the world had been melting into something she could not recognize. Regardless she still pushed past them fervently, trying to get into the room which they came from. Her vision had blurred so much that she could not even keep track of who she had pushing in order to get into the room. All she knew was that no one would stand in her way of doing so. The lowly genin likely was not strong enough to truly overpower the group of men so on some level, they must have known that it was not their place to prevent her from experiencing the inevitable.

Finally pushing her way into the room, Azumi’s eyes widened as her vision went from being blurred, likely from tears, to being perfectly keen and discerning of what had been in front of her. The emergence of this eyesight had appeared at a dreadfully ironic time. When she could finally make out what had been in the room, she fell to the ground, holding herself up only from her arms as tears gushed from her eyes.

“Mother….Father….No….NO!!!

The words were the only words she could muster before the sob forming in her throat finally burst forth would a blood curdling wail. The men mournfully stepped into the room as well after trying to no avail to prevent her from seeing what she had just walked in on. The recovered corpses of her parents were laid upon the table, likely just being discovered from the last location in which the pair of Uchiha were last seen alive. Her tears left her eyes like bullets that hit the ground quickly below her. There was nothing that the men could do for her besides just be silent as the wails of agony left her mouth in response to this discovery. The pain of discovering the dead bodies of her closest and most beloved family members was beyond profound. In fact, this was the first time in her short life that Azumi had experienced such a painful phenomenon. This pain triggered a reaction in heer for the very first time. Once again, Azumis’s vision became blurred from more than just tears as she wallowed in the pain of this loss.

When Azumi had looked up and opened her eyes once again, the dark onyx orbs had been replaced with two bright orbs of crimson light. Their hue seemed to light up what had been an otherwise dark part of the room as they fixated on the bodies of her parents before her. Suspended in each of the crimson lights had been two tomoe floating within the light parallel to one another.

The Sharingan !

Was this the true meaning of the Uchiha Clan’s mighty dojutsu? This unbearable pain? It seemed like it would consume her before she even had time to process the change that had been occurring within her. All she could feel was the feeling of loss that had caused her eyes to awaken for the first time. Rising to her feet, Azumi would be met with her reflection from a mirror-like surface across the room. For the first time she saw her clan’s dojutsu housed within her eyes. Azumi could not help but think that she had caused this to happen. That her pursuit of a shinobi life caused her to accumulate this situation as a karmic debt for defying her parents. That was why as she finally noticed she had awakened the Sharingan two tomoe in both eyes--she wished they had still been there to scold her for it.
