Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro) Empty Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro)

Sun Nov 03, 2019 3:53 pm
Mission Details:

The young genin waited at the feet of a gigantic Xyxer Gyojin statue, the Leviathan, the greatest warrior with the blessing of the Kirigakure heritage, now presumed missing, rumor having that he was keeping a low profile and travelling to hunt Kirigakure’s enemies instead of luring them to the archipelago. Kazushi knew nothing about that, really. Rumors were nothing but words in the wind. He brushed his black hair back, his blue eyes gazing into the horizon. He had received a note that he should meet at the Mizukage statue and await a Kizmaru Senju and Takahiro Onishi, with whom he would have to look for a door.

Kazushi sighed, and pushed his blue coat back with his left hand to access his pocket, from where he drew a stick of gum, carefully unwrapped it and put it to his mouth by creating a small gap in the bandaging while turning the wrapping into a small sphere with his fist. Senju, huh? The name wasn’t strange to the Temuri youth, it had been a big clan in the past, and nowadays the survivors still built legacies for themselves. He just didn’t remember what their gimmick was. But that was a matter for another time. As for the other lad, his last name bore no weight, so he didn't think much of it. For now, he waited for the Senju so they could look for a door, and brought evidence they went through it.

Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro) Empty Re: Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro)

Mon Nov 04, 2019 4:52 pm
It twas a foggy night here in Kirigakure, visibility was poor, at least for himself, and this was the night he was suppose to be meeting up with fellow Kiri shinobi to take care of some menial task. Living on an island now, this wasn't unusual to say the least but tonight there was a rather ominous feeling to it that sends a chill down Kizmaru's spine. He shook away his baleful thoughts and proceeded onward to where he was suppose to rendezvous with somebody from the village. Kizmaru didn't know of the Shinobi's appearance only of their names, a Kazushi Temuri and a Takahiro Onishi. Living in Kiri for some time now, he's heard of the clan name here and there. He didn't think too much of it as he was also from a somewhat prestigious clan, or use to be. That was a long time ago now, far in the distant past as he had no claim to it's name only the blood that currently flows through his veins. Wearing his typical attire of a yellow shirt, navy blue pants and a navy blue coat, he walked towards his destination, hands in his pockets, to the place of the meeting. It was suppose to be of a statue of one Kiri's great heroes and previous Mizukage, Xyxer something.

He doesn't remember the full name or the details of who he was as he wasn't too interested in the history of Kiri, Konoha or any nation for that matter. All he remembered was this was the person that caused him and his immediate family to move and that's where some of his discontent at the fact he was treated like a hero for basically killing and enforcing there rule over another nation, or so he thought previously. After living here for few years, he adapted to the "Blood Mist" mentality and eventually fell in line. Arriving at the Xyxer stature, he could make out a silhouette in the mist standing near the statue. Clenching his fists, he approached the figure clenching his hands into a fist in case he needed to get ready for a fight. He wasn't a master of Taijutsu but he considered himself adept enough to know his way around a brawl. Now few yards away from the shadowy silouette, Kizmaru decided to introduce himself a bit coldly.  "Oi, Kazushi i presume? The name is Kizmaru Senju and i'm your partner for today." He wasn't sure if he had the right person since he couldn't see him too well or even met the kid but he decided it would just be easier to approach with caution. Now all he had to do was wait for another shinobi that was suppose to be joining them as well.

Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro) Empty Re: Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro)

Wed Nov 06, 2019 7:00 am
Takahiro had gotten a note in the mail. It was a note saying to meet under a bridge under the statue of Xyxer Gyojin. He sighed. He knew this was coming eventually. He hadn't officially became a Genin of Kirigakure, but his background could only be in the background for so long. He had no love for Kirigakure, however, he was graciously taken in regardless. He hand't even gotten over his slump. Sighing, he got up from his seat. He stepped over the parts that were scattered across the floor, moving over the blueprints and tools. He had to admit, one of the reasons he didn't like going outside was that Kirigakure had thick murky air that he detested. And it was soo foggy.

However, the hermit he had to adhere to the letter. Legally speaking he was unsure if it was just, however he didn't have the will to fight it. He hit himself in the head with his palm. "Dammit. What if I have to fight. I don't have a single puppet ready." He had suffered a bit of a creative block when it comes to his puppets ever since he had left his destroyed home. As a result, his creations have suffered incompletion. Whatever mission he would embark on, he would have to rely on his Taijutsu. "Damn, I hate Taijutsu. Oh well, nothing I can do about it now." The Genin left his small apartment, and walked through the mist. It wasn't long before he'd reach the statue of Xyxer Gyojin. He had spotted two other shinobi there. He approached them with a smile on his face. "Hello. My name is Takahiro. Not quite sure what we are doing, but whatever it is, don't rely on me too much. I'm sort of a bad ninja." He rubbed the back of his head and laughed. He hid how much he wanted to be there. Which was not at all.

Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro) Empty Re: Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro)

Leaning against the foundation of the Leviathan’s statue, Kazushi maintained his composure as a figure called through the fog, announcing their own name after calling out his. It was evident he was Kazushi’s new partner, and from the start it was also evident that there would be no love lost between the two. As a matter of fact, the cold way in which the newcomer presented himself gave Kazushi the relief that he wouldn’t have to interact too extensively with the other beyond necessary to maintain a team. If his cold demeanor applied to team spirit, all the better, as they would be more likely to understand the need to cooperate without getting emotional. Kazushi let out an affirmative “Mhm” to indicate that he understood the newcomer’s statement, and now the two waited in silence the arrival of the third member; Kazushi felt a certain degree of comfort around the newcomer given that he knew his name, but kept his body in a state of relaxed violence: loose enough to be able to move at a moment’s notice but without slinking away and melding with the statue’s foundation.

They awaited in silence for too little, not even enough to give away a hint of an uncomfortable silence, before footsteps graced their ears once more, lively with energy that gave away the position of the stepper with such animation he could’ve been hit with a hail of kunai in the dead of the mist. As he came into sight, he made his comment about being the third member of the terrific trio now gathered beneath the statue’s watchful gaze, his mannerisms so pompous and energetic that Kazushi nearly threw up in his mask of bandages. He instead slid two fingers into his mouth and carefully removed the gum from it, then glueing it to the statue’s foundation. His mood soured almost immediately, the liveliness and admission of lack of skills on the part of his new partner a sickening display of what was wrong with New Kirigakure: the lack of tradition made ninja weak. “You’re late”, he’d say as a matter of fact in his grave tone of voice, even though there had been no set hour other than the general time of “sundown”. He pushed himself off the statue by the strength of his legs, and addressed the two ninja. “We’ve been tasked with finding a missing door. If that sounds weird to you, it’s because it is. Have any of you seen a ‘misplaced door’?”

Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro) Empty Re: Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro)

Thu Nov 07, 2019 12:21 am
After hearing the boy confirm he was indeed the person he was suppose to contact, he bagen to wait in the mist near the stature of a certain Mizukage, Kizmaru decided to size up the boy himself. Obviously, Kizmaru was the older of the two, far older that it sort of made him nervous in a way. He was starting to regret his life decision to abandon being a shinobi at a young age and try to exploit 'get rich quick' schemes. Well, it didn't matter. He was in the prime of his youth and figured he'd learn and catch on faster than his younger peers. 'Peers' meaning he was almost certain that other one that he was waiting to show up would also be younger than he was. Another thing he noticed was, the kid was also guarded for somebody he just met, like himself. This drew a smirk out of Kizmaru that made him relax a bit, especially that now it was confirmed that this was the person of interest he made contact with. Now, it was up to them to wait for the last member of their little group. He wondered what that last one's personality might be. Well, he'd eventually find out when he arrived, he assumed. It was silent now after the initial exchange so Kizmaru slipped into his bad habit of day dreaming. He remembered he went to the academy for ninja here in the Mist Village and learn how different it's philosophies were from Konoha. What Kizmaru learned, was he was to adapt and change as long as it completed his objective regardless of the task he was sent or forced to do. Chuckling quietly to himself, Kizmaru had been lost in thought for far too long to his liking as he was just standing around there with a gloomy and unnerving demeanor.

He might have been lost in thought for far longer than he imagined since now he could hear another shinobi introducing himself, breaking his concentration. So this was Takahiro, eh? Not imposing at first and DEFINITELY not after that introduction he just gave. He assumed he was gonna have teammates, not dead weight. He wasn't even really counting on them if things hit the fan but still, it would be nice to hope for some of miracle if it came down to it. Ah well, hopefully the Kazushi kid will be useful. Kizmaru then decided to introduce himself a second time so this one would at least know whagt to cal lhim out in the field. "Hey, i'm Kizmaru. Just don't drag me down and you'll be fine, maybe." Kizmaru said in a cold tone. He then heard the other one bark out the words of the newcomer being late and kind of rolled his eyes at it. He wasn't aware there was a set time but maybe he fancied himself the leader of this rag tagged group. Well, there needed to be some kind of order and leadership so if he thinks he's the one for the job, he wouldn't debate it. He only felt strange cause it was somebody a decade younger than him doing so.

Now, they can get this show on the road and soon after, he was informed of the mission they were suppose to be partaking in.  According to the Kazushi kid, they were suppose to be looking for a door of some kind. Now that's strange. Why the hell are they looking for a door? That sounds really stupid but he guessed a mission was a mission. Kizmaru then made an inquiry. "We're looking for a misplaced door? Sounds stupid. What does this door even look like? Any details that stick out so at least know what the heck we're looking for?"

Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro) Empty Re: Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro)

Takahiro looked at the both of them. The age difference was astounding. The one leaning against the statue looked like not much younger than Takahiro himself, why the other one looked to have at least a solid decade over them both. He tilted his head at the statement. “What kind of mission is this? Searching for a door? I can’t think of any reason anyone would send Shinobi, especially since I’m a genin on this mission. What’s so special about this door?” The mission was fairly simple and Takahiro was happy to not have to extend himself for a mission he didn’t want to do, he was offended that his talents were being wasted on a mission like this. His pride had betrayed him once more.

“I don’t know about either of you, but I think this mission is kinda beneath us. Wasting Ninja talents. Kinda idiotic. But I’ll play along. As long as I’m still getting paid for this. Now. What’s so special about this door? What does it go to?” He would very much rather not be here was starting to become apparent. He would rather be working on his puppet. However he reminded himself how much that was and in itself was a task of futility. “Let's hurry. I want to be done with this as soon as possible.”

Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro) Empty Re: Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro)

Sat Nov 09, 2019 5:44 am
Upon the questions of his fellow genin, Kazushi began to like the company of the older genin. He was straight to the point, much like himself; he too understood that there would be little room for true friendship in this team and that opened up the doors to perform actions that needed to be done to uphold the secrets of the Kirigakure, such as melting his companions bodies before letting them fall into enemy hands. “Much like my uncle did to my parents.” The second boy, on the other hand, managed to step on each nerve Kazushi had, some he wasn’t even aware he had. He replied to him first. “We’re being sent on this mission because it doesn’t sound dangerous; we’re to develop our skills in a safe environment so when we need to use them we can do so with confidence. It would be irresponsible to send us in higher risk missions.”

The notion that any mission was beneath a trio of genin was silly, at least to Kazushi. As a matter of fact, it was by fulfilling menial tasks that they would show they were ready to perform more demanding tasks. And for the first time, Takahiro said something Kazushi could agree with: let’s get this done with as soon as possible. Following his companions inquiries, he dug into his jacket’s inner pocket to retrieve the letter, and read it aloud. “Bla bla bla… the door shifts from place to place and was last recorded in your location… bla bla bla… bright lights and the jingling of bells… bla bla bla… bring proof you stepped through the door, such as a reindeer, or candycane… Well, this sounds even more confusing than before. But it appears the door uses space-time techniques to travel from place to place?”

As if on cue, behind the Mizukage statue, blue and red lights shined, followed by green and yellow lights. Due to the mist, they blurred and melded with the environment. At the edge of perception, one could hear the jingling of bells. Kazushi froze in place and looked at the great Mizukage’s likeness in stone, and how the back of it seemed to be bathing in the shifting lights, while the front where they stood grew darker in shadow. “You gotta be kidding me.”

Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro) Empty Re: Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro)

Sun Nov 10, 2019 7:13 pm
It seems the genin that showed up after himself, Takashiro, was just as puzzled as he was. Well, this was their first mission together and it wasn't as exciting as he had hoped but then again, he didn't really expect too much from D-ranked missions. Still, sending them to find a 'door' was truly unusual and so, nevertheless, they must find a 'door.' Listening to Takashiro's next comment, he couldn't completely agree with it but at the same time, he could agree it wasn't exciting enough for him to fully partake and enjoy it. Regardless, a mission was a mission and at the end of the day, the results is what matters. He wouldn't like it or enjoy it but he'll still present results whether he wants too or not. After Takashiro's last comment, it seems Kazushi had an issue with his 'wasting ninja talents' comment. He proceeded to give the other boy a lecture which Kizmaru didn't really care to step in or not. They both made valid points to him, although striking different topics with it.

Now then, hopefully it was time to get this show on the road. The genin known as Kazushi starting to chant some sort of mantra like poem, he's never heard of before. Kizmaru was very confused as to why he was doing this and continued to watch in silence, placing his hands back into his pockets. After a moment, blue and red lights shined, followed by green and yellow lights as a door appeared at the base of the Mizukage's statue. Kizmaru raised a brow for a second before returning to his normal state, almost frowning. If this was somebody's idea of a sick joke, he's not laughing. Well, all Kizmaru knew was, he wasn't going in there.

Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro) Empty Re: Something Strange to be Seen (Kizmaru & Takahiro)

Takahiro listened to Kazushi’s dribble. The mission only made less sense to him. “Reindeer? Candycane? And what type of door would be conscious enough to relocate itself? Or is it a seal that programs it to do so?” This made Takahiro more willing to participate in the mission, his curiosity has been piqued. It was primed to find out what is so special about this door? What if it held something powerful? What if the door itself was powerful? “I gotta see this door.”

Takahiro noticed flashing lights from behind the statue. He noticed Kazushi’s expression. “This can’t be it can’t it? THAT’S the door? Did you know it would show up here beforehand?” Takahiro had so many questions concerning this door. Apparently this mission wasn’t a waste of his talents after all.  “Whoever sent this letter? Did THEY know the door would be here?” Takahiro walked behind the statue. He at the two beside him. “Well I guess I’m going in then.” Takahiro opened the door. And immediately disliked it. He could only tell of how cold it was. The weather made his breath visible in the air. He HATED the cold. Detested it. He looked around and saw a candy cane, one that was planted into the ground. There were looks from short little men. He disregarded them, ran towards the object and picked it up. His teeth were chattering. He ran back to the door, and ended up on the other side. “Alright...here it is. I am never doing that again. Just give this to the benefactor. I’m going home.” Cold and freezing, Takahiro walked home with his hands wrapped around his arms.

Before Kazushi's eye, the beautiful door stood. He simply shook his head slowly when asked if he knew it would be there, but double checked the letter. "They just said the archipelago was the last known location, but I'm as surprised as you are." As Takihiro went inside the door, he was surprised the worst that happened was the sudden rush of cold air, as the town sucked in the warmer air of the Kirigakure. As Takihiro made back with the stick of candy canes, Kazushi was unable of hiding his surprise any longer. This was just too weird for him. Takihiro went away, and looking at Kizmaru, Kazushi shrugged and followed the other genin.
