Leaving It All Behind

Valen would be in his office, after having just left Yuuma and Violet back at the training ground. A pen and paper would be in front of him and he’d stare down at it for a time, contemplating what he was doing, what he was about to do. He had left word with Natsumi, his secretary, that he wasn’t to be disturbed for any reason. Now, he was simply contemplating what to write.  ‘I don’t see why you’re bothering to write, she could easily just find you later.’ The Gobi would say in his mind as he started at the paper, things he could write flying through his mind at a rapid pace. ‘It’s an explanation, she deserves that much Gobi. I can’t just leave without saying something, leaving her something of an explanation from my perspective so she understands what happened. I don’t want her to follow after me only to find out at the end of the road that she never wanted to. She deserves to make that decision on her own.’ He would say before finally nodding his head and finally beginning to write. It took a bit, wanting to get everything down that he could before leaving. At times he stopped, considering what he’d write before continuing on and eventually, folding the letter and sealing it with an envelope. The village leader would then write Hikari’s name on the front of it before nodding, and activating the ring on his finger, the same black ring that she had left him, to travel to her dimension, Lux Aeterna. All the while, the Gobi would be smirking within Valen’s mind.
