Crossing the Crimson Sea [Village Travel] Empty Crossing the Crimson Sea [Village Travel]

Sat Aug 19, 2017 4:16 pm
Spoiler:

Through the heavy rain and gusts of wind came the fleet of Kirigakure, moving through the ocean with their scores of ships all with the destination of Konohagakure in mind. Leading the ships was Xyxer's personal ship, designed for both it's speed and power, The Silence. The formidable galley pushed through the water with little impediment, after all, the captain of the vehicle was none other than the one many considered to be a god of water. The embodiment of some divine water spirit.. but he was just a mere Hozuki. It was a curious thing to hear what the people said about him, something that excited and irritated him in equal measure. Of course, I'll put it here that every ship within the village was able to leave the storm through a passage so that nobody gets cucked, with the storm being closed behind them.

Flaring distinctly in the air, the navy blue sails forewarned the arrival of Kirigakure. On the primary square sail a glorious depiction of a golden, tendrilled leviathan snarled across the murky mass of colour with the distinctive logo of Kirigakure embroidered across it's torso. On the other sails that were fashioned around the ship the logo of Kirigakure remained, yet the brilliance of the leviathan was left behind. It was rather important to have such a fearsome creature announce the arrival of the most terrifying nation after all.

As the ship moved through the dark waters harsh rain lashed across the side of Xyxer, the man who stood on the stern deck watching his people as they went about adjusting the cables of the sails and what not to assure the swiftest compliance with the wind for a surer travel to the weary land of Uchiha. His eyes missed nobody upon his ship as they scanned over them briefly in an attempt to recall the names. None of his crew spoke anymore, and they hadn't for a long time. That was the price of being a member of Xyxer's crew on his ship. Silence.

Naturally, it was expected that nobody on Xyxer's ship would attempt to speak given the nature of the ship's name, so that'd be a rather silly thing to do. Even his three hounds which were stored below deck remained quiet, refusing to make any sound as they laid on the shaking boat. However, now was the time to dwell on what was about to happen and the nature of the situation during the silence, the gravitas required to pull off such a situation without too many casualties of his own. Now was time for Xyxer to contemplate how many others he was willing to kill in order to assure his legacy, and for a split second, he could swear he was sailing on a sea of blood as that thought crossed his mind.

Crossing the Crimson Sea [Village Travel] Empty Re: Crossing the Crimson Sea [Village Travel]

The gentle rocking of the warship nearly put the boy to sleep.

They were amidst the waves on their way to Konoha. The Silence was living up to it's name, not a soul on board daring to speak lest they be thrown overboard like a filthy bilge rat, or some awful pirate thing or another. The young ANBU stood on the port side of the deck, clutching the ropes amidst the rain of the storm and the spray of the sea. There was something about the vastness of the beautiful water that enticed him. He saw a strange allure in the deep, dark abyss.

The ship crashed against a particularly rowdy wave, and the boy hopped down from his shipside perch, rolling his shoulders. His mismatched eyes gazed out past the front of the ship, off to the horizon. When the ship touched ground, it's bow would be painted shades of crimson. The thought made the boy grin.

Perhaps that sickly sweet event would be something to look forward to.

Crossing the Crimson Sea [Village Travel] Empty Re: Crossing the Crimson Sea [Village Travel]

Ah, the sea, the origin of all life, and the cause of many deaths, considering how many have been lost in travel it was interesting that ships hadn’t changed too much in design to be safer. But musings like that were probably not good for the safety of one traveling across the sea, so Jinzu redirected his thoughts. He was in the middle of the fleet of ships, not quite sure the exact position is his naval strategies were a bit lacking as a ninja that primarily spent his time on land. Anyways his view was still an impressive and imposing one, he was surrounded by the fleet of kiri and their navy blue sails were a foreboding site on the sea, the village nation that kept to itself was the master of the seas after all.

Though he wondered about the view from a distance, as the rain was coming down hard, lashing against the deck and prow so viciously he was curious whether it would obfuscate the view. Of course, that would mean that the fleet wouldn’t be easily detected, under cover of storms the harbingers of death come, a dramatic thought that made Jinzu chuckle a bit internally. Such dramatics were both accurate and ill fitting for kiri, as a place that boasted martial prowess over all and instinctual bloodlust they gave an air of dramatics that come with life and death situations. Though in his time in kiri he can realize that there’s more to the village than it’s war like appearance, the village as varied as the individuals who live there and call it home. Jinzu would mull this over for a moment until he realized that he stood on the deck of a Kiri warship, with a shrug he considered the point he was making to himself was rather moot currently.

Jinzu considered going below deck to escape the torrent of rain, as getting soaked to the bone was probably ill advised for a war campaign that needed its soldiers to be in proper condition and top health. Though Jinzu was excited for the chance to travel through borders, so he couldn’t restrict himself from seeing their landfall in person. So he weathered the storm for the sake of his own personal site seeing, besides as a resident of Kiri he was no stranger to rain, one would argue that all Kiri nin were in fact trained in such conditions purposely. The rhythm of the ocean against the ship sang a song of striking persistence to those that rode the waves such as they.  As the seas were a sort of home, in them he revelled in the frothing of the sea and the smell of salt on the air, it comforted his unease, which he had, in spite of his excitement to travel forth from Kiri. He was going out of the village, outside of his comfort zone of course, and not to undercut the most pressing part of it all, he was going to war with his village.

The war was something to consider definitely, for Jinzu he was of conflicting opinions though he would never voice the conflicts openly, as that would most likely leave him to be beheaded publicly. He understood that for Kiri war was a heralded event, they considered themselves the powerhouse of the villages, whether or not this was true was up in the air, they were definitely renowned for being the bloodiest village. But he was curious of why the war was struck as it was, it seemed abruptly started to Jinzu, and he wasn’t under the impression that there was any hostilities between the villages, though the inter-village diplomacy was a tense one. Though he could chalk it up to the natural restless nature of a nation such as Kiri. So Jinzu thought that war was an inevitability, to prove dominance after a time of growing your forces was the only way to make use of a legion of loyal, and trained shinobi. And Kiri ninja were loyal, even Jinzu who did not quite fit the moniker for a normal member of Kiri felt great allegiance towards his village, he had his oath of loyalty to uphold, no matter the causes that it pursued and his opinions on the matter.

He had previously wandered the the ship, exploring the quarters and cargo hold, staying out of the way of the crew that kept it afloat and in the ranks with the others. He saw a few of the other village ninja aboard, heading to war was a task that required many soldiers of course, none seemed in the mood to chat. Or perhaps it Jinzu who didn’t want to chat, loose lips sink ships after all, and he has known of several sailors superstitions, living on a village that persists on fishing and their docks. The ship was an impressive one, which didn’t surprise Jinzu in any manner considering his village was island based. As he inspected the galley he did wonder how much these ships cost a piece. Of course, Xyxer’s personal ship was more regal and substantially more elegant than the others, so costed quite a bit more, but Jinzu thought on the price of one of these war ships. Or perhaps on something smaller, the utility of a personal ship did have it’s merits, it was definitely something to consider, in time it might prove to be an option worth the investment, and the investment of training in the ways of manning a ship were a series of skills that could prove useful for future endeavors. Those were musings of a traveller though, not a soldier waiting for war as his nation stormed the beaches, so they were quickly filed to the back of his mind.

It's Vroom Vroom Vroom. Beside the large ship the white haired boy flew alongside serving as an additional scout with the 15 meter beast appearing like a shadow of death ushering in the entire fleet.  Yazu stood atop its back arms crossed scouting the horizon shifting from the back line to the frontline.  His awareness serving to prevent ambushes, if any foreign entity had the poor idea to attack the convoy mid travel Yazu would see it.

Crossing the Crimson Sea [Village Travel] Empty Re: Crossing the Crimson Sea [Village Travel]

The waves crashed against the warship, leaving the frothy white foam along the side of it. The winds pounded through the ship and sails allowing the ship to glide across the water. The rain beat against the ship, and the ocean roared, the many noises to the ears of Mors was one of euphonic measures. The effects sounded as tribal music, before they began a venture of some kind. It reminded him of slight times he’d inter weave between the few major tribes in the wilds of the world. It was always musical, you could hear the drums for miles, which was kind of counterproductive for those that wanted to win swiftly. That was at least the thought many others who did not understand the workings of the tribe’s peoples. It showed fearlessness and confidence to those they opposed, to announce where they were to allow their target to have an advantage against them. The moment the drums stopped though battle would soon ensue, and for a moment there would be a slight calm before all hell broke loose. Mors would flashback for a moment of the first time his curiosity got the best of him and he felt the urge to go explore the sounds that were once foreign to him. The day when he found his love for chaos a day that will forever be etched into memory and mind, never to be lost. Such a time ago, the thought would fade from his mind as he snapped back to the reality of things to be in his near future.

His reflection period now over. He leaned against crates along port quarter of the warship, his arms crossed.  He would stay quiet for the whole ride through out until they touched land again. His only focus was on what was to come. He did not know if he would prove to be much help, but he would be something that was going to be made sure of. Mors scanned the surrounding and horizons the whole time. His eyes not off the horizon for long, wary of any change that could happen as he was on the journey. He scanned all over the ship as well, studying every movement the ship itself made, as it moved with waves, and danced upon the water gracefully. Cutting through the violent water, overpowering each action against it. The crew aboard even worked diligently, they were probably one of the best, unfazed, fearless even, of the murky waters and scorn of the sea. They braved the weather fighting a slight war of their own against mother nature, who Mors knew could be a royal bitch at times. He had his run-ins with her on numerous various occasions. He knew she did not care about the beings around her in the slightest, the world was just a toy to her. One she controlled the most of all, sending her minions in the forms of storms and disasters. Random and cruel she was knowing no bounds.  He knew what these being were doing was no easy feat, especially for it to run smoothly, while everything else is trying to make it go down instead. He could do nothing but applaud them.

After some time, Mors would begin to fully explore the ship, he felt content enough with the number of eyes on the area, if anything was to need serious action. Mors would hear about it and take action.  Surveying the ship, he had only seen warships, but never aboard one, it was something of a different nature to him. He had not really been on a ship many times before, but hell it beat walking. It allowed the beings to conserve their energy for when it was really needed and again keep the focus where it was needed. He scoured all over the ship studying it for future references, learning it ever he’d stop at the stern to clear look at the lead ship, The Mizukage’s personal vessel, it was perfect example of the time coming, it would a ship that was hauntingly beautiful. The world would know that Kiri was coming and amongst them came the presence of the reaper, And the The Silence’s very essence exuded that. Mors could feel the time was drawing nearer for their leave of the ship, and the real fun to begin. With this feeling Mors ducked away below the deck to a cabin, to conduct the rituals he felt necessary to honor Jashin., as this was to be a big event he only deemed it right. Mors would then spend his time upon the deck, sitting Indian style, praying to Jashin, and in a silent meditation, at the stern of the ship. Thinking and wondering of what was to happen, he let his thoughts run wild. He hoped all would go as planned, but chaos knew how to make things interesting and go off script.

Aryll did not leave Thane throughout the journey. The anticipation was too great for her to put away her equipment, and she knew that they would be arriving soon enough. Thane's massive silhouette loomed over the the ship from the point where she stood, closer to the center of the ship to avoid disrupting the ship's center of mass due to Thane's weight.

As the waves rocked the ship, Thane, and by extension, Aryll, looked solemnly out onto the horizon. They would arrive at Konohagakure soon. The birthplace of her clan, about to be crushed to dust.

In silence, The young Uchiha looked up at the sky as she leaned up against the giant machine known as Thane. This wasn't just a small little battle that the country was going to, this was a full fledged war.

No doubt there would be a massive death toll on both sides, unless cooler heads could prevail... which the young genin figured that it wouldn't.

Rubbing her legs, Angel Burr would use her healing jutsu on the still damaged legs of hers as she would look on, waiting for the group to arrive at their destination.
