Learning on his own

Basic Medical Jutsu:

Odin decided he was going to take a breathe of fresh air.  He paced around the training grounds, enjoying the fresh air.  He took up the sunshine as the new day approached.  He had spent all night learning a new jutsu and he was ready to start training again.  He looked around to his distaste, not a soul was around.  He sighed, knowing that he wouldn't have a sparring partner.
"Now what should I do to pass the time...?"
Odin couldn't decide if he waned to master the jutsu he just learned or work on some other skills of his.  Odin looked at the roof of the academy, pondering his next move.
"I do need some strength training..." he thought to himself as he walked towards the wall of the of the academy.  He studied the wall the corner of the walls, feeling the wall for any nooks and crannies to grab onto.  He was to scale the wall to test his endurance.
It didn't take long for Odin to notice his folly almost immediately; a few meters up, his strength gave out and he plummeted to the ground.

He clumsily tried to break his full; he landed on his side, scraping his arm and ripping open his satchel.  The satchel contained several scribbles of a different jutsu he read at the library.  He tried to get up but he felt his arm drip with blood.  He winced in pain as he struggled to get up.
(What a weakling) he cursed himself, (How are you going to protect the ones you care about?)
Odin let himself down to the ground, leaning his head to the side. 

He was about to wallow in despair when he saw a simple medical jutsu he scribbled down. 
"Boar, Rat, Snake, channel chakra onto the wound," he read aloud to himself.  He wasn't sure how this jutsu would work but this was the perfect opportunity to try it out. 

He did the hand seals, sluggishly and slowly due to his wound, Boar, Rat, then finally Snake.  He channeled his chakra into his normal arm, then brought the chakra into his palms.  He held his hand over his wounded arm.  He felt a surge of instant relief flow through the injured arm.  To his surprise, the wound began to heal rapidly and efficiently.  He watched as the cut clotted up, instantly scabbing up.  He wouldn't need to bandage it or anything.  He felt relief that the jutsu worked instantaniously. 

He laughed with what could only be described as pure joy and excitement.  He sprung up and stretched his bad arm, still holding the jutsu on it, just in case he needed to mend it further.  He checked to see if there was any pain left in his arm, stretching it out backwards, forwards, upwards and downwards; Nothing. 
"Good as new,"  he excitedly said to himself. 

(Let's see how much this jutsu can heal)  he wildly thought.   A seemingly stupid and crazy idea sprung inside the boy's head;  (Can it repair a broken bone?  How much of a wound is the limit to this jutsu?  Let's try it out.)

Odin walked back to the cursed wall that gave him his first wound.  He clenched a fist with the non healed hand.  He cocked back and punched the wall with all his might.  He clenched his fist in pain.  Blood flowed from his fist, but it wasn't enough for him.  He needed to be in actual pain.   Luckily for him, he wasn't as durable as he gave himself credit for.  He punched the wall two more times before he felt a crunching in his hand. 
He let out a yelp of pain, tears flowing down in the sheer agony of pain that he inflicted upon himself.  He felt himself white out for a moment, but his willpower brought him back to the harsh reality he created. 
He shook in pain, silently, focusing only on doing the jutsu yet again. 
Boar, rat, then snake hand seals were formed.  Despite his injury, he performed it faster that the previous time.  He shook with furious pain and willpower conjured up into one as he channeled the chakra into the non wounded hand.  He expelled more chakra this time into the jutsu, thinking that it would make up for the harsh wound he inflicted on himself.  

He looked down at the injured hand;  it was bruised over dark purple on the knuckles.  He thought he may have broken his knuckles but he wasn't a medical ninja so he wasn't truly sure.  He held his hand on the bruised hand, closing his eyes to concentrate on dispelling the pain that pulsed in the self inflicted wound. 
The jutsu took a bit longer this time, but the result was the same again.  He felt the pain slowly pulse in a dull roar, then into a minor inconvinencing pulse. 
Finally, after several minutes, he felt nothing.  Odin dispelled the jutsu, knowing that his hand was good as new before he checked it.  He removed the good hand from the injured hand to find that the purple bruise was entirely gone!  Odin felt a little shocked at this but he sighed in relief that he was successful.  He didn't know what he would do if he was unsuccessful.  

Odin giggled at his recklessness.  He knew that it was necessary to take risks in order to get stronger.  (Speaking of stronger...)
Odin's gaze brought him to the wall that made him plummet to his first injury. 
"I'm not leaving until I tackle you first,"  Odin promised the wall he deemed as his rival.  Any witness would see a crazy boy speaking to a wall. 
Odin did the hand seals of Boar, rat, then snake.  He channeled the jutsu this time into both his hands, holding it on his hands as he walked up to the wall that started this whole thing.   He grabbed the edge of the walls and began his ascend upwards.  This time, his hands wouldn't fail him, constantly healing as he scrapped them on his journey to the top of the building.  His concentration broke him out into a brisk sweat, but he wasn't faultering this time.  He clentched the cracks in the wall with his fingertips, instantly healing them when they met a jagged edge.  He slowly and surely made it to the top of the academy building.  He felt victory swell upon him as his first hand reached and grabbed the rooftop.  He swing himself up on top of the acedemy building, feeling almost graceful as flipped over the railing and onto the rooftop floor.  He sighed with relief, dispelling the jutsu that kept his hands protected.  He double checked his hands, searching for a wound, but his hands looked as good as they did when the day began. 

He looked at the sunrise, noting that his adventure was just beginning.  The sun came over the top of the trees in the distance, lighting up the area around him.  Odin felt the wind pick up, the trees danced around in response.  He closed his eyes, feeling the sweat drip off his brow.  He took this opporunity to meditate, gathering the chakra he just expelled.  He lifted his chin upwards to the sky, envisioning he was a bird, soaring.  His mind was silent.
