Training At The Hospital (Private/Solo) Empty Training At The Hospital (Private/Solo)

Fri Jun 17, 2016 10:32 pm
Healing was absolutely not a fun experience for Takamitsu. In specific, his rehabilitation was not a fun experience. Even with how advance their jutsu was, and how good the surgery was performed, he needed to get his arms and legs back to the same state that they were in before he had ever gotten into this mess. The boy drank nearly a gallon of water as he attempted to do another lap around the track. Before, it would have seemed like he would be able to do dozens of laps before beginning to tire, but the growing pain in his legs from just the two kilometers that he had traveled showed that his current state was far inferior to the body he had before. On top of all of that, he was adjusting to not having an eye, which was hurting his shuriken and battle training. It seemed like all he would be able to do was practice in futility, hoping that eventually he would be able to compare to the skills that he had prior. The genin pushed himself harder, every step sending signals, screams of pain that spread through his body like a wildfire and start to cramp several muscles in his lower body. Finally, he fell to his knees, panting and desperate for another drink of water.

He slowly sipped as he began to lie on his back, staring towards the sky. It was a nice day, a day that he would usually spend training with his squad, but that wasn't quite possible giving his current state. Takamitsu rolled over and planted his palms firmly on the ground, hoping to do as many pushups as he could while his legs had a chance to rest. He still had the Uzumaki energy that they were renowned for, and he didn't quite feel exhausted enough to quit the training. He managed to get several dozen pushups in before the pain in his arms became too great to squeeze any more labor out of them. His physical training for the day seemed like it was over, so he slowly made his way back to the hospital room to take a long break. When he finally sat on his bed and lied down to 'rest his eye,' he began to think of what he was going to learn during his jutsu training. He did several hours of reading jutsu encyclopedias earlier in the day to find out new water style jutsu to improve his arsenal of attacks, and he had high hopes that something would eventually pop out at him. As he began to fall asleep, he was slowly pulled into dreams that were inspired both by the fight that he had with his brother, and the sheer amount of water style jutsu that he had read about in the stories and encyclopedias he previously flipped through. In his dream, he was proficient in the water nature transformation during the fight with his brother, and he had managed to get through most of the battle without being majorly harmed. When it drew to a close, his brother had departed and Takamitsu lacked a good way to track the man. The boy awoke several hours later, and began to lazily flip through one of his encyclopedias, knowing that he had seen a useful sensory water style jutsu somewhere within its vast number of pages. Finally, he turned open to the technique 'Rain Tiger at Will,' a relatively advance water style technique that allowed the user to create rain, and use the rain around him for both water style jutsu and to expand his sensory range.

It seemed like one of the best jutsus for Takamitsu to focus on during his stay at he hospital, and he had set his sights on it, dedicated to his cause of learning the jutsu before he leaves. It seemed like it would be simple in theory, but as he knew from experience, even the most basic jutsu could prove more challenging despite their deceptive appearances. Unlike many other jutsu, this seemed much harder to explain the basic mechanics of, and it even seemed like it lacked a very good explanation of quite what he would need to do in order to successfully perform said jutsu. He imagined that it involved trying to influence the water in the air to gather, the vapors eventually gathering and becoming dense enough to rain down. Due to his chakra influencing the gathering of the storm clouds, the rain would naturally be infused with his own chakra, making it near impossible for his own jutsu to be used against him by other water style users. It was a fantastic jutsu when used in the right situations, letting him do things like track ninja that attempted to approach him, or always have a source of water to use alongside the new water style jutsu that he was beginning to learn. With luck, he might even be able to use the gathering of water to combine with his natural affinity to lightning style, leading to new jutsu that some people might have not discovered before. Doing a combination of chakra natures like that would bring him even closer to his goal of becoming a near master of almost all ninjutsu, With every second he spent thinking about how Rain Tiger at Will would help him, the jutsu became exponentially more attractive, the thought of learning it becoming more and more enticing, slowly intoxicating his minds with the thought of possibilities.

The boy slowly put his encyclopedia down after memorizing the hand seals that would be required for him to perform the technique. Sure it was a bit worse than the initial hand signs for Chidori, but the difference was small enough that he was able to commit them to memory with the same ease that he was able to with Chidori. He knew that he would face slight problems with the nature transformation, but it was something that he was going to need to deal with if he wanted to be stronger, and if he wanted to surpass his peers and brother. Takamitsu slowly made his way up to the roof of the hospital to practice the technique, knowing that he likely wouldn't be able to master it quite yet, but he also knew that any progress was better than no progress at all. He formed the hand seals as he started to gather chakra within his body. He tried to imagine the chakra as expansive and powerful, subtly influencing a nature change within himself before he looked towards the heavens. He started to form the chakra with his hand seal before attempting to move the vapor particles in the air towards each other to create rain. He slightly whispered the name of the technique, "Rain Tiger at Will," before continuing to attempt to pull the water in the air together. Finally, he expelled the energy from his body, and he looked upwards. All he had managed to do was make a slight overcast, which lacked any sort of gray color. Just as the boy had thought, this was obviously going to be more difficult than it initially appeared. He wished he could find a master of the water element in the village, but it didn't seem like that was going to be the case, and that instead he would need to work this out on his own.

Takamitsu closed his eyes and thought, and eventually decided that he would need to take his old approach of 'Try fixing everything until it works.' His first step was to make sure that his signs were correct. The genin completed each sign slowly with textbook accuracy, while also making sure that he was performing every sign that was needed in order to successfully perform Rain Tiger at Will. Next, he checked to make sure that he was gathering the appropriate amount of chakra, channeling it through his body after letting it build for several moments in his core. The chakra swiftly moved to his hands, where he tried to perform the nature transformation, envisioning it as if he was letting it run cleanly around his hands, and that the chakra smoothly moving through his body. Finally, he tried to control the vapor that was in the air, making it clump together into a series of dense storm clouds. He was having some minor success, the clouds beginning to form as he attempted to slowly influence them towards each other. Finally, a single storm cloud formed overhead, which began to drop small droplets of water around the hospital and several meters away. He wasn't yet able to feel these droplets, and he also wasn't sure that they were properly infused with his chakra, but it was a start. Like the ninja was told countless times before, his mastery of the jutsu would stem from repetition and refinement, and that experience would come from attempting to use it whenever he was able to. Takamitsu, however, wasn't quite in the shape to continue to use a jutsu that took that much chakra out of him, and he slowly began to head back into the hospital, sneakily making his way back into his room to catch a couple hours of sleep before he continued his jutsu training. It was quite early for most people to be sleeping, but like any injured person, rest was going to help him recover as he continued his stay at the hospital.

His sleep was relatively empty, which was slightly surprising considering the emotional turmoil that has been brewing inside the boy over the past few days. After the fight with his brother, he didn't really feel any strong emotions. He just felt as if he was fully drained emotionally, and that this time in the hospital would also help him get back on track mentally. When he finally did re-awake, it would be early in the next morning, and he'd quietly eat fruit that was left for him in a small basket before once again heading out onto the hospital's roof, strengthening his resolve to learn the jutsu,
