D-Rank: Guarding the Parade [mission]

Kyo Uchiha got up late that morning. His father hadn't yet come home, so things were going quite nicely. He went out to the riverside... but then stopped at the front door. The mailman had just left, and he had left another crisp, clean, VERY professional manila envelope. Well, it looked like another mission. He would have to get ready... again. It was not as if Kyo didn't like missions, he was just a little drowsy. He picked up the folder and went to the riverside, where he sat down to listen to the Naka river gurgle and tumble over its riverbed. 

He picked out the papers in the folder. Well, what was it this time? It looked like some kind of super special parade for some kind of feudal lord. Hmm.... it would be a moderately grand affair, just a greeting rather than an all-out celebration. Kyo went home and got ready. He put his headband into his pocket and headed out. The parade would begin in a few minutes, so Kyo climbed up onto a roof where he could get a clear view of the entire parade. As the procession began to assemble and begin, Kyo kept himself awake, watchful and vigilant.

Well.... what was this? A band??? No.... oh good lord, no. This was annoying beyond belief. 

"76 trombones in the big parade, and 110 cornets close at hand...." WHAT??? They were randomly singing now?? Oh this was so embarrasing and insulting... by Kyo kept his eyes on the procession. He didn't see anyone... until the kid with the pipe bomb started sneaking up to the side of the parade. Just as he was about to light his fuse, Kyo threw a roof shingle at the back of his head, perhaps severing the boy's spinal cord. Apparently, he had caused a greenstick fracture, because the kid's head was bent in an odd way, and the back of his neck swelled with blood and cerebrospinal fluid. Well..... er... crisis averted. 

"... and I took my place as the one and only bass...." ARRGH that music... and THAT SINGING! Kyo regretted taking on this mission. For the length that he had to sit on the baking hot rooftop, listening to stupid music, and for the low ryo reward, he realized that this had totally not been worth it. He would have to carefully reconsider the cost benefit ratio of his next mission.
