Double Training

Kirameki walked out of her tent and into the warm morning sun, Yukihana right behind her. It was still a bit chilly from the night, as it was only just after dawn.  Kira had on her normal white top and skirt with the black leggings. She also decided to wear her cloth headband.  “Come on, Yuki. Training,” she said. “You haven’t trained yet, not even a little. Looks like we are both getting stronger today.”


The leopard and the girl soon made their way to one of the many training grounds in Suna. This particular one had a bit of an obstacle coarse set up, with a few low-hanging trees and some man-made objects.

“Alright, Yuki. Try climbing that tree right there, alright?” she said, motioning to one of the trees. The leopard trotted over to the tree and jumped up, clinging to the trunk with her claws. She quickly scaled the truck. “Great! Now, can you climb down?” said Kirameki. The leopard simple flicked her tail in response and climbed straight down the trunk of the tree.


Well, apparently she can… Kirameki thought, very pleased. Maybe I should research Clouded Leopard some more… “Alright, Yukihana. Let’s have a quick race, eh?” she suggested. The leopard twitched her ear and lined up with the girl. “Perfect. Ok, we’ll race to that tree over there.” Kirameki pointed to a small tree about 30 meters away.


Both competitors lined up and got ready to dash. “On your mark… get set… GO!” Kirameki shouted. Immediately both raced off to the tree. For about half the distance, it looked like Kirameki would win. But, alas, Yukihana was only going about half her regular speed. At a little over the half way mark, the leopard let loose and virtually lapped Kirameki, getting there a few seconds before the girl.


“Heheh. Nice job, Yuki. I picked the right leopard, didn’t I? Well, we still have a whole day ahead of us. That was only a warm up!” Kirameki said.
