A Haunting in Venice (Event Mission Part 2) - Page 2 Empty Re: A Haunting in Venice (Event Mission Part 2)

Mon Dec 11, 2023 12:51 pm
The suspense was also getting to Katsuragi, his aura manifesting in his trademark spirit animal. The wild jungle cat, engulfing his form as he was now seen looking outwards to his new opponent. He simply stood there, focused eyes as narrow as they can be, with an intense heart rate to match. He form, after agreeing to take on the image that non other than lucky, he meets him on the batteground, 1v1. He grips his fist as the copy charges towards him. He takes a stance, raises his fist head level, widening his stance. He rushes towards the copy, after activing his charging thunder technique. His speed so great, that after activation, the after images that once followed the copy, vanished. He was now able to fight evenly matched. He thought about using infamous 8 gate technique, he would provide him with enough power to power down the approaching loser. But, if there was one thing Raleth taught him, was that you can’t go full throttle from the jump. As he rushed towards the charging foe, he grits his teeth with each step, swaying his arms back and forth with a sinister grin. It was like two rams, charging at each other at full speed, head on. Finally, the two collied woth each other. The force from the collision disburst throughout the field. The two were in their own little corner, brawling it out. Katsuragi would be lying if he said this wasn’t personal, but thankful, taking a liking to the mobile duck’s word, pounding this image of lucky would be kind of therapy he needed.

In the midsts of the battle, Katsuragi pushed off luck. He gained enough space to garher enough chakra within his left hand to deliver a charged strike to the copy‘s face. It was lightning natured, so after he would finish the charge, he threw a jab. Unforunately, the copy evaded it. And countered with a swift elbow, driving it into Katsuragi‘s face. He succeeded, slamming its elbow into his chest. He grunts louded, “Oooof”, he grunts. The wind was knocked out of him. However, before contact, he enhanced his body with a defensive body technique. His plan, allowing the clone to strike him with a counter, allowed him to respond with another counter of his own. “Reeeeeee!!!”, he yelled. Still enhanced with his new found speed, he unleashes a series of multiple fist, centering the somewhat cone of attack towards the target’s gace once again. One by one, the hit would land. Loud taps filled the air, he took joy in knowing that his techniques were connecting. The copy, then braced for impact, after charging towards Katsuragi. The two were seen tossing and turning on the ground. Both tbrowing wild punches and kicks. The snakes secured his glasses, latching on to the frames with their bodies to secure it. They couldnt risk unleashing the secret weapon just yet. The clone eventually gets away from Katsuragi, distancing himself out of arm’s reach. “Fuck! Get your ass over here! Lucky!”, he said as he now stared down the clone, he now stands up right on his two front feet. His huffing and puffing, the stress of knowing when your opponent didnt know when to quit, it brought back a distant memory. His mind now thinking back to such a time when Raleth was active.

He remembers the gentle giant showing him the motions and strike patterns of building up to using jutsu in an effective manner. He knew what jutsu to use for the long haul, making him an effective shinobi. However, as time past, his present became more and more like a distant memory. He didnt know what prompted such a move, but it wasn’t his to chose. He couldnt control what others did to pass the time, which left him realizing just how helpless he was to stop one of the few folk to actually help katsuragi.

‘Damn, Raleth. Those shifts at the Tea Shop, I moaned and complained all day about it. But man, what I wouldnt give to work just one more shift’, his thoughts betrayed his vocal work. He never really knew what happened to the gentle giant. He vanished out of no where, with no trace. Rumors and speculation would normally follow, but in this case there wasnt. It was strange, and he loathe the fact that he didnt get to give his goodbye. Hell, even on his last day in Pelican Island, he received a send off on his block. Nothing crazy, just heartful shit talking and a few cups of cell made wine. It all made him angry, to which Raleth taught him how to channel such energy.

He then stood as he were, gathering energy from his rage within to active/unlock one of his inner gates. In so doing so, he would unlock the five gate. Although he would still adhere to most of his old teacher’s way. The fifth gate was already, ready to be unlocked, his eyes widen with the air around him growing more intense. It was as if the air hardened around him, he was ready activate the technique. However, he was cut off by a surprise attack that was not of his own. First, the copy charged towards the MaDKat, with each step taken the sense of malice intensifing. The body of the copy, burst into dust. It started with the chest, a strange black ball was sent into the back of the foe’s body at lightning speed. He’d never seen anything like it, a jutsu so deadly as it was simple. “Damn it, I would have loved to taken that thing down”, katsuragi said. His misery matching that of the floating sword. However, his ill gotten victory short lived. The body turned to ash, soon refigure itself in a monsterous form.

“Whaah?”, he exclaimed. The ash reformer into a bigger better version of it’s previous self. He shook his head in disbelief. To regenerate, to reform after being beaten was a low move. Then again, Katsuragi didnt actually beat this lucky own his own. The random attack was nothing more than dumb luck on his part. But now, it was time for round two. The bell rung, with the now more armed Uranus heading towards Katsuragi with a strange set of words.

Katsuragi had a hard time picking through the mess of words being hurles at him by Uranus. It was strange to be on the other side of the table, due to Katsuragi normally using slang and made up words himself when he communicated with others. Regardless, the only thing he wanted from Uranus was silence. It was time to shut him up, for good.

The oncoming copy, charging at Katsuragi with no delay, allowed the Madkat to fire a palm sized blast of chakra from his right hand. He throws a jab mid air, after surging chakra within it. The blast erupted from his fist like a firecracker, both in display and sound. The streaks of light followed it as it hirled towards the armed foe. However, Uranus held up it’s axe and swung at the ball of light, being 10 meters away from Katsuragi’s current position. The ball of light was snuffed out in an instant, with Katsuragi moving to his right at full speed in a linear path as it happened. He knew something was up when his foe swung at the ball of light rather than evade it. Perhaps ot was some sort of sealing technique, or perhaps the craftsmanship of the weapon was to be blamed.

Katsuragi was no stranger towards augmented weapons, the Axe he used was anything but the base model. “Not a bad piece of hardware, aint it? Lucky.“, his voice coarse with weary caution and an ounce of jealousy. He wondered if he could take it from his corpse of he soon to be deadman once the fight was over. Oh well, only time will tell.

Continuing his path, he stops abrubtly. He activates his taijutsu cloak instead, creating a blue barrier around him. His eight gates would come in later should he choose too, Uranus on the other hand charges towards Katsuragi once again. The axe held up high above his head in an attempt to cleave at the MaDKat. Dialing in the speed of the attacker, his thunder charge technique in conjunction with his taijutsu cloak, he made quick work of the attack by evading the swing. He steps to the right, extending his right leg to the side and digs it slightly to the ground, while at the same time bring in his left side. His form shifting to the right side to avoid the swing. But, before any of that even happened, his eyes widen as he activated the Split Second technique.

It was a useful thing, watching the physical preimages of the axe coming down towards him. It was like seeing a movie, the future even. The foresight granted him the info to allow him to counter attack as well. After the side step, he gets into a peacock stance and unleashes a fury of fire style punches towards the foe‘s left side. He was well within arms reach, and did so just as full evaded. However, like all fights, the opponent put up his guard and use the flat side of the axe as a shield to take the blunt force of the attack. It would seem that Uranus was just as fast as Kats was. Of course, he saw this coming, due to his split second technique. So long Uranus was within arms reach, he figured he would test the strength of his augmented axe. After his fury of punches, he felt rather odd. Weak even, and he wasnt referring go his fists after clashing with metal. He felt as if his energy was stolen from him, but how? He watches the clone take a step back, while attemping to form a handsign. The physical preimages foresaw a single handsign that he could not let go through. Being a fellow Yamanaka, he knew all to well what was coming up next. Before the single hand sign could be formed, Katsuragi kicked up his leg, forming a cyclone of wind around the two. The clone shot up into the air, twisting around and around helplessly, although somehow it manged to hold on to the ax. Regardless, he didn't have to worry about any more handsigns due to the technique. “Time to wrap this shit up”, he said with chest puffed out.

Uranus swirled high in the air, trapped in a vortex of force was hurled down to the ground in a thunderous force. Katsuragi activated the effect by swinging his elevated leg downward, slamming it to the ground. He was out of harm sway of the descending foe. Roughly 5 meters away from the landing zone, yet still within the cyclone. The force was so great, that the foe was completely helpless, Katsuragi watched Uranus crash into the ground. After the dust cleared, Uranus was seen laying on the floor, lifeless. His form vanishing out of this world without a trace. The MaDKat nods his head with affirmation, taking pride in his win.

Moving on the to the final stage, Katsuragi ventured onward, meeting up with the all mighty Avatar. The Thunderous roar however came first, which took him back a bit. However, the entrance of the Avatar trumped the trumpeting voice from above. His eyes slowly rose higher and higher, gazing upon the creature as it huge high above the sky. It was huge, a three headed being with wings as massive as it's entire body. "OOkay...", the words escaping his lips beyond his control. Nevertheless, he needed to do this. He needed to do his part in order to escape the beast and this horrible place.

The beast focused it's sight upon Katsuragi, advancing towards his location. He gets into a stance, ready to go hand to hand with the great colossus. "Come get some motha-", before he could finish, the snakes along his head removed the shades. Upon doing so, they revealed the glow purple eyes that met the gaze of the avatar. The being halted for a moment, its form slowly hardening into a giant figure of stone. "HOLY SHIT! I did IT! I... oh shiiiiit!!!!", he turns around and runs ahead of the now gigantic falling figure of grey stone. His speed was still great, which allowed him to evade all the obstacles.

HE makes all kind of sound effects while traversing the great planes. The stone figure smashed into the ground and destroyed everything that got caught in its wake. Finally after escaping the great force, his form instantly vanished from sight. He was now back home in Tanzaku Town.

"Whoah, I'm back!", he said as he scanned his area. He noticed the rifts still above outside, to which prompted him to do what he knew he had to do.

3 hours later...

"42 Black! Everyone lose...", the dealer said, taking all the money away from the gamblers at the roulette table. Katsuragi's money was the first to be taken. "NOOOOOOO!"

A Haunting in Venice (Event Mission Part 2) - Page 2 Empty Re: A Haunting in Venice (Event Mission Part 2)

Tue Dec 12, 2023 9:52 pm
Kurai faced her designated opponent, and was able to prove through a very long and lengthy challenge, a successful win. it appeared the others that she was with also found success and laid claim to a victory against what they saw, and the entity that came fourth after. There was a lot of question marks for what was to come afterwards since of the four of them, only two of them were acquainted outside. The scarecrow version of her body seemed to remain for sometime afterwards, as she began to navigate back to where she came from. There for her to figure out and to contemplate on her way back, because this was not her first time within the dreamscape. Many more questions were present and many more answers were made less visible. The attitudes of the people she encountered left much for her to consider as well. Although she remembered very little as this was just a fleeting dream, fleeting, memory, a lucid, remembrance of events, the Phantom had a fondness of the journey she had encountered thus far. When she woke, she knew that she was going to have to tell the story to her new friends within the village. Perhaps they would appreciate the wild misadventures that she found herself upon that faithful evening evening.

The journey was a tireless and lonely journey. As the dreamscapes saddled from the recent affairs and the attacks in the corruption that it faced, Kurai kept a vigil eye wherever she went. Her bow was already prepped. An arrow was already slung. She kept her eyes on the horizon in case something else decided to show up uninvited. As much as she wish the story was over her time within the dreamscape was not yet done as their faced, another fear another problem, there was always going to likely be issues that she will be unable to attend to when she left. As the others found their way home, Kurai found her way on a journey back home instead. As she retrace the group steps, she found that many places that they had fought and encountered many things was beginning to be changed and altered back to once it was. The landscape itself breathed with new life as dreams returned to their domain. The fear she had was, if this was true of her, initial leg of the journey, how different will be her destination when she gets there. She was rather unsettled when dreams begin to flow and rapidly from their last encounter’s location. The huntress decided it would be best to slowly find her way back to where she started as she cannot be too cautious, considering there was no telling what dreams were still actually nightmares within the space. Because there is no telling of how the change occurred the first time, there’s no telling what change would happen likewise, the other way around.

As Kurai progressed within the dreamscape, she could tell that the land of dreams was something that was more unique than she initially realized. The hues that she saw the concepts that she witnessed were that of what she saw prior when they were corrupted by the land of nightmares. There is a stunning display of imagination, conceptualization and actualization. Seeing the world, this was quite different than her journey within the land of dreams and nightmares previously with her new friends, the phantom sought to learn from these past experiences and bring them back with her. Her journey in the land of the waking was always going to be a difficult one, but she knew trying to find her sister was all the motivation. She really needed to be able to succeed in life. Trying to find Hotaru gave her a dream to go after. Although she had gone through many of life‘s tribulations, she recognize that they were all just stepping stones to where she was meant to be. the world around her did not shift as it did before, but it did open pathways that she could take if she wanted to, but the destination in mine was not elsewhere right now. It was Konohagakure no Sato. She needed to be able to return to her body if she had any chance of finding her sister. Even if she somehow stumbled upon her within this realm, there is no way for them to truly be together as they were when they were children.

As the wandering, Huntress finally made it to her desire destination, she could see the flurries of dreams, grant her a new place to rest her head to allow her to wake up within the realm of the waking. She was sad to see this world, go, but she was glad nonetheless for the story that she found here. Truly, she was glad to just be able to be herself once more rather than the scarecrow, or even a child version of herself. Once the bad before her was fully formed and prepared, she laid down, allowing her head to fall upon the pillow. Startled awake she grabbed her bow rushed outside, unsure of where exactly she was. It felt as if she had suddenly shifted well beyond her understanding of time.  The village looked exactly the way that she left it, there was riffs and other monsters crawling about. However, the major rift in the far distance above the land of Hot Springs, was torn, apart, sundered, and broken. It appeared as if multiple strikes made true against it as five or more cuts, broke up the massive cloud coverage of the land, there was always something about that that made her uneasy. She was glad that that was not the case anymore. However, there was still the rift that was within the village that needed to be taken care of. Thankfully with bow in hand, she descended upon the village one last time for this whole affair to be able to be of service to Konohagakure no Sato.

She was unsure truly of what had transpired between everything, she felt more nimble. She felt more awake and aware of her surroundings. The whole thing seemed to empower her and her capacity, her decision making and understanding. She still had all five of her arrows that she started with when she arrived within the village, and she knew by the time she left, she would have more within her quiver. For now, there was one more challenge that she needed to accomplish to be able to settle this once, and for all. Nosy light smile to her face, the journey that she had gone through both with her new friends, and with people she did not know, brought her a level of growth that she did not think was quite possible in herself. She had a level of confidence, a degree of fun, and a newfound respect for others, that previously she did not have. Staying within the village as long as she had already, there was always going to be some sort of cash or baggage that she was going to end up having to carry. Kurai was just happy that this was a good thing to have taken claim of and good baggage to possess. She looked at her bow as she jumped across the rooftops. Uncertain of what exactly she was going to face once she made it to the intended destination, the Huntress knew that whatever was, there was going to be dealt with swiftly and with an efficiency that she was unable to accomplish prior.

Upon her arrival, there was a few small children that were cowering underneath the cloth quickly and swiftly she formed hand seals until the earth caved all over them for giving them a level of protection. She knew that a fight that’s scared children to the point where they were unable to leave, was not a fight that was going to be easy from one thing to the next she was already prepared and ready with an arrow knocked as a creature flew out from the shadows behind the corner, with the claws of a lion mixed with the body of a young dog she could easily see why the children are terrified. “Don’t worry, I’ll be able to help. Stay inside the dump for now, I’ll release you when it is safe.” Her voice, even after such affairs, where she raised it to new heights, was still soft as down and eased the children’s hearts. The arrow in the bow was launched and found its target. Unfortunate reality of the animal that was present quickly dissolved as obvious. It was just another dream creature, corrupted and turned into a monster. Considering the severity of the transformation had gone under, was corrupted by it was clear that the forces that were at play here were weaker than before. The smile was on her face remained as she knew that that was the only way to stay hopeful for the two children that she was able to save thus far. Looking up towards the roof that was overhead, there wasn’t much that she could do inherently from the ground, and she knew very well that she was going to have to use other techniques to try to disrupt its presence.

First and foremost, Kurai needed to handle the monsters that were crawling about that had come through the rift. With consideration, for the fact that there is others nearby, that likely we needed help it was going to be needing to be a quick and fast resolution that she found. She heaved a sigh, knowing that it likely meant she needed to use her black threads to be able to reach in time, and as swiftly with consideration of the nooks and crannies, and the layout of the village that was surrounding her. Jumping back up on top of the roofs, the hunters did her best to get a sense of the surrounding area and be able to identify what she could without much difficulty. There was a few spots of activity that she could recognize and quickly maneuvered to be able to reach them in time. Her bow found its way onto her back as she formed handseals to have her black threads actually form into that of a katana. The creatures themselves being weaker meant she actually had some flexibility to be able to practice other methods of approach in regards to being able to handle situations. Knowing that one day, she would likely need to be able to use a blade. She had a general understanding, and that was more than enough to start. Has she found one creature after the next she was able to dance across the streets of Konohagakure no Sato able to save a few lives here and there. The creatures, themselves or amalgamations just us before however, they were less deformed, cluttered, and more of just hybrid of different creatures instead. Surely there was something else to be of but this time she did not really care to investigate the creatures any further than she had to deal with them. her body felt somewhat rested, but her mind was drained. She had already gone through so much already, and the fact that she had to fight even more there after was a struggle to say the least.

The fighting continued for quite a while as the rift seemed to have speckling of substance, allowing it to spawn more after she had already finished a wave, and appeared that no matter what she did, there was always going to be just one more thing to do. To begin assessing on how best to actively find How to close the rift, Kurai opted just do her best to clear whatever it put out. The dangers that posed was if she could not react in time to slay, whatever came out that some denizen citizen or villager was going to be put at risk because of her she was alone in this encounter, and she recognize that as much as she owed very little to the village, she did owe them for quite a lot. there is always going to be something that made the village a stopping point on her adventures in the future but until the point that she actually was able to partake in those adventures, she would do her best to help protect the village. The result of said actions and concepts, that she possess now allowed her to faithfully execute this for quite some time into the witching hours of the evening.  She was growing tired and upset. The fact that there seem to be another one after another, and she realize very late that the method that she chose to try to handle this is not the correct one. She was still learning how best to react to some situations like this, however, it was quite easy to say that this was an anomaly in regards to how things normally acted. Though, could you really call a rift after everything that happened normal at this point?

At which point Kurai the best course of action was to just try to unleash as much force power and techniques against this thing to try to see if it would budge or dissipate or even react. It was a long to have to handle and figure out her arsenal was not well equipped to handle such a task. The young kunoichi the best Avenue she had was just use her black threads to try to slash towards it pierce it and do whatever she could try to just disrupt it’s hold where it’s at presently 5 to 10 meters above the ground. Moving her hands, swiftly, the seals she formed were tied to two different techniques. First she attempted to use the stone pistol jutsu to simply see what kind of reaction it would have upon the stones traveling into the same space that occupied. There is a little to no effect that she could notice upon the collision of the stones in the rift, for the most part, they simply just disappeared. Then her next technique came to play as she unleashed black threads towards it, slashing, piercing and trying to even grab at it to no avail. That was when she drew her bow once more, and decided that it may have this would’ve been the correct decision to start with. She wanted to try something new, find some other route that she could go, but until she was able to develop her own natural bloodline further through the hearts, she claimed, Kurai we need to use her trustee bow.

Knocking an arrow and using a few of her high force, marksmanship techniques, the Phantom found massive success, has the one technique known as the archers calling, allowed for just enough pressure and force to take parts of the rift away from it, slowly disassembling it apart by part, piece by piece, section by section. However, the rift did not quite like the fact that she was able to find a route by herself to remedy the fact that it existed. A large beast, one that was more into what they previously seen, exited the rift and landed on the streets below it out angrily as its attention was fully dedicated towards her it charged, and with a quick  Thinking action, the arrow had just previously launched, was followed up immediately by another straight through between the eyes of the beast. It was a surprising for her, she didn’t even realize that she could do that quickly, and succession her skills and abilities as an archer, when proving steadily as she used it to protect the village , an idea and concept that she didn’t think would be part of her mind. With success of the rift fully taken care of within the village, there is not much more that she had to worry about, or contend with. Thinking back onto last weeks affair, there is not much more that she could’ve asked for at this point.  The friends along the way that she had made or pivotal to her growth and development as a Shinobi and as a person. Kurai would remember her time within Konohagakure no Sato’s walls with fondness. She knew she needed to depart sooner rather than later, even though she’s started to enjoy her time there. Her journey was not meant to end, and she knows that many travels were waiting her in the future. Strapping her bow back onto her torso she turned around from the streets of the village, unleashing the children from the shelter that she made for them. From there, she simply needed to just go back home, as much as home was just a simple apartment that she was renting within Konoha.
