Blooming Blossoms [Event-Halloween] - Page 2 Empty Re: Blooming Blossoms [Event-Halloween]

Fri Dec 08, 2023 3:17 pm
Kenshin watched with morbid interest as the obsidian creature consumed the creatures while the burning one crushed them, the pink one seemed to have far stronger sensing capabilities than his own and had taken point as the group's early alarm, alerting the trio toward it's next threat while they continued onward, Kenshin had decided to follow a bit behind from the woman's right, allowing the strange obsidian creature flank her from the left if it wanted to create a proper formation for the group, although rather or not the creature understood them was another thing, Kenshin couldn't really figure out what it was saying or how sentient the thing even was, it seemed capable of vocalizing but incapable of speech. For a while it was quiet with only the pink one speaking to pinpoint their next threat for either of the trio to deal with the oncoming threat, Kenshin's wrist blades were more than capable of slicing through whatever these things were and felt almost like he was cutting through water with how little his weapon found resistance in the creatures, rather that was a testament to the sharpness of his weapon or the state of the nightmare's low durability was another question altogether.

"They appear from the void... Yet they die easily... Too easily. I do not like this." Kenshin commented as he continued to follow them, an uneasy feeling settling on him as he felt an odd feeling, one that he hadn't truly felt since his first hunt with his father, a hunt where he had became the hunted instead of the hunter and that alone was enough to put him on guard. The confirmation from both the pink one and the burning one had proven his uneasy feeling to be correct and Kenshin readied himself for a battle against whatever had been stalking them and the horde that it was going to be using to wear them down, a tactic the beast masters of his clan had favored heavily in their hunts. "A coward who fights is no coward at all, the one who watches may only be testing us." Kenshin spoke calmly as he readied himself, sheathing the wrist blades with a flick of his wrist before drawing forth the Combistick and pressing the three buttons on the center, he allowed the spear to take it's active form before spinning it in hand, testing the weight and feel of the weapon in the moment before the calm, the creatures were coming forward and he could sense a few of them with his own inferior sensing abilities, a sign they were dangerously close.

"Hold the line, the one who watches wouldn't watch unless it intends to strike at us. Be on guard." Kenshin issued a warning to the group before rushing forward in the north east direction with the strange spear at the ready, the first creature he'd come across was another strange mix of animals, a panther combined with the horns of an elk, yet sharpened to an unnatural degree that reminded him more of the predator hounds of his clan, the creature seemed to know it's weapons well as it leapt at him with it's horns at the ready and he was forced to swing the spear into it's left side while he moved to the right, the wing of the combistick tearing through the elk panther hybrid, causing the thing to let out an eerily human like screech that was silenced when Kenshin impaled the creature through the skull with a single thrust of the Combistick. he'd turn his attention to the next creature that approached him, a larger and bulkier creature, a bear that took on the head of an owl, this strange owl bear creature was faster than he had expected and it's massive paw threatened to deliver a massive strike onto his chest, he knew he wouldn't be able to stop the thing as he was, it had caught him off guard.

In a futile attempt to defend himself, he brought forth his combistick, a desperate attempt to stop the slash that would tear through his armor and likely into his chest cavity with ease if this thing was as strong as he thought it would, yet when he felt the impact he was surprised to find his own strength had been enhanced with his new form, what he had expected was that the bear would force him to let go of the weapon with his own grip and strength being overshadowed with ease, instead he let out a single grunt as he found his muscles straining while he held off the massive owl bear's paw, the only damage being a single clawed clash onto his exposed bicep, revealing this body's blood to be a strange neon green as opposed to the normal red of a human. "It's just a flesh wound. Focus the enemies." He'd call out to his allies, he was unsure how they were faring in their battles or if all the nightmare creatures were similar in nature to what he was dealing with but he couldn't allow them to falter in their misplaced concern over his state of affairs, had he been struck down like he had suspected he would've been in his normal body than their front line may collapse with one of the flanks falling.

Blooming Blossoms [Event-Halloween] - Page 2 Empty Re: Blooming Blossoms [Event-Halloween]

Mon Dec 11, 2023 7:58 pm
As the group faced the multitude of enemies, Marabelle sought to make the best of the situation, “I hope you all are well, wherever you are in the world.” She began as her sword strokes continued to sweep waves of creatures down one after another. “I was traveling up to this point and encountered issues in the Land of the Waking…. Well, that sounds like the best way of putting our world where we’re awake right?” She considered another creature formed with the arms of a lion, the body of a panther, the head of a cheetah, and the tail of a tiger charged her. She tilted her head in the confusion of such a creature being formed but it was not of her own volition that such a mixed-bred cat to be born in the Dreamscape Sea. “I feel like the Lands of the World are truly showing us the terror they fear though I find it odd that it has not shown other true humans. No remnants of actual people yet. At least not that I recognized. I have traveled from one side of the world to the other. I have saved many small hamlets along the way. Not everyone is fond of being saved.” She trailed off, her blade quickly exchanging blows with the claws of the cat-amalgamation.

The claws were razors of shuriken and its teeth were as sharp as kunai. The strength it poses reminded her of the Forgemaster she met when she traveled to Otogakure no Sato. It had been a bit of time since she had left the village. It was shortly after she left that she found herself here in the Dreamscape Sea. Curiosity brought her attention briefly elsewhere in regard to the village she had just left after helping out with the other half of the mess they were currently in. Her blade movements were firm and with conviction and flowed with elegance and grace. No swing was without purpose and as she maneuvered around the great cat, the Everbloom peered into its eyes in an attempt to reach out to understand why it had been stitched together the way it had been. If it could speak, perhaps the group could get proper answers. The severity of the fights they had encountered thus far proved to be an ever-growing surge of power from the ruling forces within the plane of existence they were present in. If it was not for needing to figure out what was going on, Marabelle likely would have been aiming to get more information out. The fear and uncertainty of the fact that this seemed to be a one-time occurrence meant it was unlikely to occur again in her own lifetime. Understandably if something like this became a common occurrence, she anticipated half of the job she wished to accomplish to be simply null and void. If the Shinobi of the world were stuck in an eternal struggle within the Dreamscape Sea, there would have to be some massive big bad evil guy behind such a nefarious idea. As it stood, there was a total of four present of which one was incapacitated in a different way than normal.

The entity Pluto was an odd one within the space. It almost felt like they belonged there or existed in the space. He was present and aware of their existence but it seemed almost reactive to everything rather than proactive, a likely development if they were stuck in here longer than necessary. Maybe Pluto wound up here because they simply coexisted in the same space that the others had stumbled into. There was no telling as proper communication was not required at this time since he had been reactive and operating in tandem and aligned with the rest present. The concern was when Marabelle began to notice a shadow lurking in the corner of their eyes. Her sensory was not presently strong enough to get a good understanding at first glance and even with being able to expand her range, it still existed beyond that. Hearing Kenshin speak up concerning an injury, Marabelle swiftly rallied to him to perform some quick and basic medical ninjutsu. “Here. It may be just a flesh wound but I don’t want to dream of what could come of it.” She said giving a stern look towards the man. It was not one of anger or aggression but rather awareness and conscious effort of word choice. The idea that their dreams could become real within the space was an equally terrifying thought as surely such a conundrum would not cause any more difficulty than they have already had. Should Kenshin accept the healing, it was a quick patch-up as Marabelle continued with their sword strokes once more. It was almost as if she was training in the middle of these waves that continued to come towards the slowly progressing group. “We need to somehow find an opening and press forward! Can either of you two attempt to do something?” She asked as she did a simple downstroke swing against another amalgamation of animals, this time a mixed bird of various feathers. Its plumage was as beautiful as it was deadly as its claws or talons were attempting to mince or pick up the young medic vagabond.

The progression of the group teetered as finding an opening and the timing to perform such a feat would take a bit of preparation and they did not presently possess the time to afford to simply stand still and act. With consideration of this, Marabelle had an idea in her head as a lightbulb formed and turned on above her. “I have an idea. Gather behind me but be quick. I’ll count to 10 and then gather up.” She announced to the group that the concern was going to be Pluto. She had a feeling the young man that existed had some sense of understanding of what was going on but not having a way to confirm that right away was going to be difficult. Nevertheless, the attempt needed to be made else they would not be able to press forward toward more answers for the group, and for their world.

“1…”

She began the count up, a firm downward stroke once more to cleave a creature in half. Her skill and proficiency with the blade were not the greatest or the most unique, but the basics she was training were proof of the long and tedious regime she undertook.

“2…”

The swordswoman continued counting as another cat amalgamation pounced towards her with a friend in tow. As if begging to dance, the Everbloom swiftly and narrowly maneuvered between the two, her blade finding gashes and punctured vitals with ease. None of her movements showcased anything beyond her normal movements.

“3…”

As she continued to count up toward their designated goal, the shadows that she could see began to take more form as the creatures were slain. It was as if the dreams that began to form and were defeated were being gathered or drawn or even finding a stronger or more suitable host to work with.

“4…”

There was always some sort of hiccup as it was plain and simple to see that the scenery was also changing. Forming what was one path was a small riverbed with the gurgling of a stream beginning to go through it. Grass would slowly form thereafter, as the Dreamscape Sea began to alters

“5…”

As her arms began to tire, she resorted to drawing upon her reserves as her body surged a bit with vitality. Eating her own Qi to survive the war of attrition that was going on. She was not counting slow, but it felt as if there was something building up to respond to their plan.

“6…”

Sheathing her blade, Marabelle sought to alter her own course and path of approach with the current game-plan that she had. There was a need for her hands and she had not learned how to form seals with just one. There was always a time and place to try but now was not it.

“7…”

Whatever the shadows in the corner of her vision she kept an eye on. By now the others surely would have noticed it lingering there. Standing there, observing them, and tracking them there. No matter how hard she tried to sense or spot it, it would move with her sight.

“8…”

As the plan drew near, the reason she went with 10 seconds was to allow some degree of awareness of where she was without putting themselves in danger to randomly turn or stop an action to rally or regroup. It may not have been the fastest, but efficiency best speed in this situation.

“9…”

As the second to last callout began, she jumped back toward the little clearing they were able to maintain. Around the now creek, previously road or pathway depending on who you asked, the group would soon gather and thus, Marabelle formed seals.

“10!”

She shouted out loud as she unleashed a flurry of chakra scalpel senbon needles in a forward-facing semicircle. Whichever of the three acted to open a path thereafter would do so. Marabelle would follow as the group was able to charge ahead, unwittingly also following the stream for a bit before the scenario changed and aligned the group down the stream. The shadows in her eye disappeared momentarily which caught her attention immediately. “Danger!” She shouted and before she could determine what was about to happen, a plethora of attacks came flying from various directions. Dropping down to the ground, Marabelle dodged all the attacks as darkness began to grow around the scene. Rising quickly, Marabelle could make out other silhouettes that had risen and stopped opposite of the rest of her squad—the appearance of themselves. There was not a moment to speak as Marabelle turned to see a version of her simply waving back to her. The next challenge came strong out of the gate as it appeared they needed to face themselves. Perhaps this was their best-dreamt version of themselves, the end goal that they wished to achieve. However, there was also the chance this was simply just the demons of their past and subconscious coming to haunt them, given form by the Land of Nightmares aiming to see what it could learn or abuse the group with.

Standing towards the abyss that had just separated them she could hear applause from behind her. Turning to bear witness to the originator it was a spitting image of herself alongside a plethora of sets of eyes with various hues. There were no initial words exchanged but the clapping began to fade as it was a slow clap from the alternative Marabelle. The Everbloom's eyes narrowed, her hand moving to the sword's hilt on her hip. The tanto that had accompanied her from the start of the journey was becoming worn and its sheen had begun to fade. It truly was time for a new blade to come forth and replace the old worn companion she had traveled for so long with. The sword even though it was not truly present, had its presence felt by the wandering medical vagabond. It was a wonder that she made it so far between all the lands so far. She did cheat by traveling by boat to the Land of Haven but it was true that she had traveled from one side to the other with that little blade by her side. As many thoughts spurred in her head the clapping faded as she peered at herself who was leering towards her. "So... What is this supposed to be?" Marabelle finally asked the replicant of herself. It simply gestures openly towards the ethereal space they now coinhabited. "Whatever you wish it to be."

The concern and uncanniness of the situation were nothing to snuff as it felt like the weight of generations was boring onto her in the Dreamscape Sea. Separated from the others, she could only truly presume something akin to what was transpiring here for her was happening to the rest. Her mind bounced between Nuraihyon and Kenshin and Pluto as Marabelle was unsure what challenges awaited her sudden companions within the Land of Nightmares as the face she watched her nightmare version she determined it to be was not a pleasant one. It was a look of arrogance and superiority. There was a dismissive tone to the words she spoke as she began to take a step forward getting a clearer visage of her. Her traditional kimono was replaced with that of a robe and garb that kept her body's form hidden from normal sight and she could tell by the sound of the equipment on her that she wore a full katana not just a tanto on her hip. A disadvantage in terms of length now and likely considering how the laws of the space worked, attuned to what she would have wanted it to be. This meant an uphill battle from the start alongside she had exerted a considerable amount of her energy and power at that point already compared to the fully armed and ready version of herself that had been gathering the defeated remains of the corrupted dreams the group were able to fend off from. "Tsch."

The look of superiority turned to frustration and anger quickly at Marabelle's sound. "Defy all you want Little Miss Blossom. What you are and what you have done so far is inconsequential to the whole of what the world will go through. Suffer what you must but realize you are the only one who dreams of such a world. You are alone in your journey and even traveling is futile. Better yet just settle down and rule. You have the capacity. You have the ability. You have the resources even! Better yet, just let me do it instead. You don't have what it really takes to make the decision, let alone any decision!" Nightmare Blossom vocalized pulling off the cloak and revealing the shinobi attire that was once hidden. It was a sight to see, an armored and fully realized offensive version of herself. A strong force within the world that could probably force her way to what she desired and revered the defeat of those who opposed her because it meant she was successful in achieving her goal. It was a terrifying thought to consider as Nightmare Marabelle drew her blade, a sheen to it and the sound of it leaving it scabbard could cut the tension even. The blades themselves once drawn were almost comical in comparison. It was as if she was facing a different person than herself. If this is what she could potentially become, it was not something that Marabelle wanted to find out the severity of the difference between the two.

As soon as their swords met, she could feel the danger and intent of her opponent. The entity masquerading as her was intent on cutting her down here and now. Presumably, there was a purpose but from simple blades crossing it was not conveyable about the true end goal that it had with her. There was some awkwardness both faced as each turn of the blade was met and deflected swiftly. The swings from Nightmare Marabelle were rapid and with such force as compared to Marabelle's which through her exercise of training in the Dreamscape up to this point gave strength to her form and allowed for ease of response. It was a contrast of a wild and brash decision and the dedication to withstand the storm, to move the mountain, to climb the cliffside. There were easier ways but to stand and take a step one at a time, to show proof of the hard work and dedication could produce was becoming evident between the two options. She had just started this path and the growth she was experiencing was visible. She had all the makings of her father and it was beginning to show once she made the choice and dedication to make that happen. There was a spark of defiance that Marabelle presented and showed as she stepped forward, taking the offensive stance and position rather than being on the defensive play. Taken aback by the shift roared in anger as the moves Marabelle presented gave no flexibility in the approach, her form becoming firm in her stance, strong in its strikes, and fluid in its motions. She was growing and overcoming the idea and notion that was being given to her by this creature of dreams, now an agent of nightmares and the corruption of the land they had wandered into.

"Why?! Why do you defy such a future? A future that you can change with a decree, that you can change at will! You would have the power to invoke such a change." Their swords clashed all through the Nightmare Marabelle's monologue as Marabelle stepped forward one foot at a time. The sound of her being quiet and nimble across the space the two were present in. The eyes of their heritage, their ancestry, watching in anticipation to see which would rise from this challenge. "To have the power you possess is not enough! You need more! You need people under your thumb, under your command to get anywhere in this world dominated by shinobi! You wander like a lost soul, a lost dog of war with no fight to fight." It continued as the blade in its hand quaked from the pressure that Marabelle was unleashing with the tanto in her own hand. The atmosphere began to thicken and weigh down on her as the Nightmare Marabelle's form began to shift and distort as the principles it tried to prey upon were not sufficient enough to strike Marabelle down. Its eyes were just as piercing as it began a new approach, one without self-preservation in mind. It took risky plays, choices, and actions against the wandering medical vagabond as the strikes it offered put Marabelle into awkward positions.

Gritting her teeth, Marabelle made a conscious decision not to budge on her actions. She was not going to just let the unorthodox approach being beaten against her be used to break the work she was aiming towards. None of the others here was mixed into this mess and thus should not have to suffer at her hand if she were to fail because she gave up her own convictions. There was a degree of frustration that was becoming apparent as the moves and motions became cluttered between the two. Marabelle began getting cuts placed on her and gashes and wounds etching into her form as the opposite end, Nightmare Blossom, had not gotten hit once by Marabelle. A sudden sharp screech of metal and force separated them and when they were a few meters apart, Marabelle simply smiled, breathing with her wound weeping against her body. She put a hand on her side and pulled it away seeing the blood nodded and wiped it onto her blade. "There. Now if I'm asked they won't know what happened." This caught the Nightmare Marabelle off guard since there was no logic it could fathom on the actions. "What is your game? I forsake all methods of survival to just get to you and yet you would still not budge? Do you not favor living when the risk you are allowing is death?" She screamed at the Everbloom, her own chakra flaring against that of her opponent. It was nothing like a display of power but it was almost like a flare had been sent off.

Marabelle laughed lightly before resuming her stance that she had been honing and practicing up to this point. Her sword having her own blood on it makes it a clear sign of defeat in some fashion as the Nightmare was not bleeding but the symbol of it being on her own sword was a powerful symbol and it was a resolute sign of conviction of the vagabond. She raised her blade in defense, and in an offensive measure, she never struck her nightmare version. Yet she stood, after the assault and onslaught caused by her corrupted personification. It gritted her teeth towards the real Marabelle bewildered by the idea and concept that no matter what provocation was used, Marabelle remained true. The entity was staring at a woman who would fight and offer only the sanctity of her life for the fight. She was not going to cut down the ideas that were present but why? Why would she not try to? Cut the poison she saw in the world out? It was to egg her on, make her lose hope, and make her realize she too could succumb to such facets. It was a boiling question as the entity lost its composure before blurting out a single word, "Why?" Its voice was incredulous and gritty. The inflection was echoed by the shifting and altering of the world around them. Hues shifted and the floor became a blend of tile and tatami mats as neither had dominance over the space. Marabelle simply responded without missing a beat as the world froze, "Why not?"

A shattering of the scene broke apart in a loud echo that enveloped the two present. The Nightmare Marabelle stared and gawked towards her as Marabelle activated her seal, wines and lines colored with purples, pinks, and greens as her the seal on her forehead expanded to heal her body. "Our world is not perfect. I am not perfect. The Shinobi system is not perfect. Yet the world still exists. It still tries and it does its best to do so. The world is beautiful due to this and I hope to preserve as much of it as I can. Acceptance and healing are the way I know, the path I chose, and I must see it through to the end." She walked forward as the entity's form shook and began to disperse slowly at first, it still attempting to defy and maintain its effort to fight back against her. Placing a hand on the Nightmare Blossom's face, there was a solemn smile that was on her face as she pressed her forehead against the Nightmare's. "If my path was determined already then I only have one future ahead of me. If it isn't, and I hope that's the case, I have many possibilities. I want to believe that I have as many choices as everyone else and that I can still learn as I progress. The path I walk will have many chances to change direction and if I felt that I was locked to one path, then I could not appreciate the fact that I have made this decision for myself and for the world around me that I get to influence." She said releasing her presence against the entity as a tear formed and dropped from its face. As it landed it rippled on the floor, the dark abyss that had encapsulated the two began to fade. "Goodbye myself. Till we see each other once more. I hope to surprise you once more with how much I have grown, and how much I have faced."

Once she could properly sense the others around her, she looked around at the new scenery that they were in. It was getting to the end of the line within their time in the Dreamscape and they needed to be prepared as best as they could, "Any injuries that need tending? Anything anyone wishes to discuss if the entity that they faced gave insight on what was to come?" Marabelle began to question as her seal began to recede before the group. Her kimono was in tatters exposing skin where wounds were once present but were no longer. She stood as if nothing had changed or happened. An enigma to most situations, she seemed content and fine with whatever transpired within the spatial-temporal space that occurred. Not everything was as it seemed within the Dreamscape Sea and when everyone had time to at minimum gauge a bit of what just happened, it decided that it was time for the finale. There was a plethora of things to contemplate and consider but when a massive rift within the ground formed and cracked, negativity and screams escaped outward. Marabelle looked at it for a moment or two as nothing came out initially. "Let's go." She said plainly as she jumped into the crevice that had formed disappearing from sight. Fear was not stopping her from proceeding and finalizing this whole affair. She would turn her head back to the rift that had formed once she fully became submerged in the subspace below. It was different than above as it almost felt like her motions were weighed like she was under water. Very likely this was the true realm of nightmares and what they considered to be the 'Land of Nightmares'. Straight into the belly of the beast, it seemed.

As she drifted into the Dreamscape Under-Sea, Marabele found the sight and scenes playing out in an oddly beautiful way as the space had her drifting down till she landed on another platform. It was made of stained glass and in the cardinal directions appeared their Dreamscape Appearances. Marabelle's was situated to the south as she landed there initially and it lit up signifying she was present. As the others made their descent down presumably, they too landing on their section would illuminate it as a booming voice echoed out in the darkness that held them to the platform, "So you have made it this far. I would believe that you are fools for wishing to be consumed and devoured. Surely you have a better plan than to just fight!?" It shouted as a hand came out from the darkness and aimed to slam down on Marabelle and whoever landed towards the North side of the platform. Channeling her chakra to enhance herself she jumped upward unleashing a mighty punch into the arm severing it from the incorporeal body that it came from, causing it to flounder in mid-air and dissipate before a strike could form. "I feel like I've been called foolish enough the past few weeks. I would recommend to come up with a better insult. Your originality is severely lacking at this point." There was a slight grin on the young kunoichi's face when she said this, a little out of character but still had the same charm that she had presented previously.

As Marabelle's commentary echoed in the chamber they were in, the Avatar of Nightmares made its presence known as the surrounding darkness began to fade revealing a plethora of dreams being corrupted into nightmares before their very eyes. "You've made it this far so I would serve you well to know your place!" It angrily called out as the arm regrew from its broken point as it reached upward pulling down a cleaver sword made of shadows towards the group. Not liking the odds of this she moved to the edge of her platform before realizing that as she neared the edge towards the western section its light began to fade. There were risks in place and considering it light up and recognizing her appearance led Marabelle to assume it was unwise to leave her designated slot. The platform itself was divided evenly into four sections and was 50 meters across which made it large enough to move around in but restricting oneself to be within the vertical space above their section would prove to become a challenge. The blade fell and landed splitting the platform in half with a dark wall for a few moments before it faded. The fight was going to become progressively difficult to manage if they could not do something about disarming the avatar once more or reach it. Surely there had to be an opportunity Marabelle thought becoming increasingly frustrated if the fight was to be restricted to range and retaliating against its attacks. "Tsch."

There was another thing she noticed which was the body was rotating around the platform initially. It did not stay in one place but it did not linger at each section for long. Each would need to time their attacks to align for when the Avatar of Nightmares, the Devourer of Dreams that was before them was in their section for their attacks. It was painfully obvious so Marabelle made a mental note as she drew her blade launching a crescent of water toward where it was going to be across the platform. Thankfully her experiment was a success as the water moved without the lights of the platforms dimming and landing the hit, the creature writhed in pain. It was a long-drawn battle that the group was in form but it was one that could be managed by dodging its telegraphed attacks and attacking when given the moment and chance. Its body being as large and long as it was proved to be in their favor to be able to attack as a unit rather than just individually throughout the encounter. As she was beginning to run out of resources towards the end of the whole situation, Marabelle looked and leaned on the other's ability to help wrap the fight up and finish this off once and for all. Although her medical prowess proved to have some limitations at this time, she knew there was growth that could be made from understanding the issues that currently plagued the wandering medic. Given the circumstances were unlikely to be just like this in the future, there was always something to learn and grow from such encounters.

Many of the attacks that came down that Marabelle could deflect or destroy before making it to the platform were the main goals she could accomplish at this time. She mirrored her fight with the nightmare version of herself almost as she took little opportunity to make strikes minus the ones that were painfully obvious there was a window that did not risk danger for herself or others. The Everbloom's blade had been stained with blood and as she cut and danced in her section, the scent of plum blossoms could be smelt around the space. As the fight continued, it soon would also begin to scatter the petals into the other sections of the stained glass disc that they were confined to. As much as she wanted to try to move elsewhere, she remained steady and present in that single quarter of space to allow the others to maintain their own sense of identity. There was much to build on and fight for and each had made it this far. She held no anger or disdain for the actions that had been taken by the entity but surely others had either bones to pick or a desire to show off their own capacities. Thus she simply spent the time training, practicing, and developing her bladework. Her clan was known for the capacity of its blades and as much as the tanto had served faithfully to this point, there was a degree that it needed to grow and become a true katana in the eyes of a ronin such as her. She had a home to defend, to protect and a world she wished to improve. A tiny blade such as hers would not be enough alone to persuade others to her cause. She needed to overcome the challenge set before her and grow and bloom and eventually blossom into her own. There were many chances to do so before but now there was a need to do so. Thus, Marabelle Blossom of Bean Jam Country fought.

Once the fight concluded the platform they were present on began to rise and elevate upward to where they had fallen down from. It was a slow ascend as Marabelle bowed to the group, "Thank you for all that you have accomplished today. I'm not one to really be making such bold claims but I truly believe we have helped save a lot of lives and at minimum, I appreciate it." She began before gauging the responses. From there, any idle chatter that was present would be met with a smile and relative silence as her mind was more muddled with the events that had transpired so far. There was more to the story and more to the affair but it looks like this was all that was to be shown and exposed. It was possible they might find out more in the future but that was a concern for another time. If they made their return to the Dreamscape Sea for one reason or another it would be too soon in her eyes. Once it appeared they made it all the way to the intended destination, the platform radiated with energy as doors formed within each section with symbols that represented the individuals present. For Marabelle, her clan symbol the blossom was present. A smile on her face warmed up from the cordial appearance as she bowed her head at the door. "Thank you again." She said before opening it to see what was on the other side. She waited to see what the others did first before committing to leaving on the off chance something else would happen once one left. There were always dangers and when she opened the door it was simply darkness again. Thus Marabelle waited once more for others, to make sure they were taken care of.

Blooming Blossoms [Event-Halloween] - Page 2 Empty Re: Blooming Blossoms [Event-Halloween]

Mon Dec 11, 2023 10:53 pm
Towering the Red Shadow stood there looking around with his Meigan active, colors of crimson, green and blue stacked like umbral circles giving his eyes a truly mesmerizing hue looked about the expanse of the area and a small breathe of air escaped his lungs. He was not liking how easy this had been. His fights needed to be more. More danger. More of a threat. He needed more out of this. His eyes slowly trailed to those that were talking, his head turning as he attempted to look at them or at least from a sideways perspective as he began to think to himself. Not tuning them out per se, but his mind had definitely been elsewhere for the moment. As Mirabelle finished speaking his head would move to fully look at her as his eyes simply returned to their normal crimson color and he finally broke his silence," Things are well where I am. Probably no better than others with the state of things and these nightmares but they pose some challenge for the moment. If anything I am expecting this to get much harder or I am going to be annoyed at this encounter. My eggheaded brother would probably agree with you but the answer may be simple. We are here because we can cross the threshold between dreams and this place. Most are held back by their own nightmares and fears. Which is either a credence to your own abilities or something else is beyond the scenes catering a play that I am not too fond of," it was not the best way to look at the given situation, but if Nura had a point in anything that was that the mastermind was yet to show themselves. For whatever reason that may have been...well that was lost on him. Her last bit however warranted a chuckle from him as he turned to face the road ahead once more," Not everyone is destined to be saved. You waste your time saving those that are ungrateful for being able to see another day."

Did he believe that statement? Possibly. In this world weak were trampled and the strong had the power...but was it not what you did with that power that made a difference? He did not care. He used his power to ascertain more and prove he was strongest. For many that would be seen as compensating or hiding away from your own fears, but for him it was all he knew. He stood by in silence as she looked over Kenshin, all the while he remained vigilant just in case. Whatever had been brewing out there was taking its sweet time, but he would be ready. He had to be. The lull that they were given would soon be over as a new group of abominations entered the frey, this time taking on the shape of avian horrors. A small smile appeared on his face as he cracked his knuckles and began to punch at the ones that tried to swoop down at him. Timing his punches carefully, he would wait until they were at the apex of their swoop and releasing the energy in his body he would steadily and with tempo begin to take them out. One punch after another followed as they attempted to come at him, and when a group came he would smirk as he slid his left leg back and performed a series of crescent kicks. With each kick he would release a crescent wave of pressurized air that would cleave them in twain. The combination of punches and kicks would avail him as he continued at a steady pace. Punch, Kick, dodge or side step. His movements were fluent as if he had did this hundreds of times. For a moment he was in his own world as he began to laugh gleefully though something in his peripheral vision kept stopping him every so often. He snapped out of it when he heard Mirabelle ask if anyone could do something to clear a path and he smiled happily," Oh I've been waiting for this," but when she said she had a plan he would shrug.

He had found himself to about a good 5 meter distance from the group and when she started counting down he dug his feet in. Sprinting he would begin to move left and right, weaving through enemies as he used his nails as extensions, clawing and raking through the monsters to get to the group. As she reached 5, Nura weaved a set of seals. At 6, he had jumped into the air and landed behind her. At 7, his body would begin to accumulate large masses of blue fire that would begin to flicker and emit off of his body as he held his hands close together and pointed forward as if they were a spear. At 8 and 9, he would slide to the side to be in the perfect position and at 10? Shortly after her attack was launched he would release a roar and spread his hands outward causing a small flicker of a flame to appear before it roared to life, crashing forward and incinerating all that had been in its path. Flickers of the blue flames would remain on the ground as he stepped forward and chuckled," Now that is how you set my heart ablaze....I need more now," though as he said this his wish would be granted. As the pink haired female screamed the word danger, he would feel his body lurching backwards. Something had hit him, and from the feeling of it, kicked him away from the group. His body tumbled once, twice and a third time before he landed on his feet to stop himself from going any further. Standing up he would dust himself off as he looked to see who had dared to touch him and a smirk appeared on his face," Either this place has a sense of humor or it has granted my wish...Though you are one ugly son of bitch and an unfortunate one. I don't care if you are supposed to be me or my mimic but...," and as he took his stance he would motion for it to come on with his right index finger," I lose to no one."

The Nightmare Nura chuckled as it took the same stance and began to slide forward slowly, inching closer and closer until knuckles of their right hands touched and then? The clash commenced. For every punch he had throwing the Nightmare matched him tit for tat. If he had punched and ducked the Nightmare would kick and slide back. As their blows collided he would maintain eye contact with the Nightmare, knowing the others could at least or hopefully manage without him. In that moment he had been taken off-guard as the nightmare caught his punch right at the forearm and threw him over his shoulder and onto the ground. Following up with an axe kick, Nura would block it before pushing the foot backwards and swiftly getting back up," Good. I'd expect nothing less from a fake me."

The Nightmare only chuckled as it resumed its stance," All you can do is talk a big game and hide behind that reckless bravado, but even then you are only a small shadow cast from an even smaller flame. Do you think you can stand free from the shadows of his past? To run free and show what he was meant to do? You are nothing but delusional," to which Nura would only be taken aback from. His right brow began to twitch as he growled and swapped his stance into a more aggressive one. How dare this fake try to talk down to him. Tell him what he could and could not do? Rushing forward he would begin to throw a wild barrage of punches and kicks, each one being parried or countered. What was an equal fight continued to throw the real off guard as he was now on the defensive, blocking or trying to get out of the way. The Nightmare chuckled as it threw a couple of punches before locking with Nura," Even now you feel it. You are inadequate. Even your brother who is but a weakling can outshine you. All you are is a walking temper tantrum with fire. You'll never amount to anything...and destined to die just like him," the words themselves hit harder than the fists as for that singular moment his guard was broken and the Nightmare began to wail on him. Punch after punch Nura would take as he fell to the ground and the Nightmare continued to pack him up. Within the cusp of blacking out, the Nightmare would pick up Nura by the throat as he straightened his left hand out flat almost as if it was a blade," And here it is. History repeating itself," for a moment Nura considered letting it happen. Maybe his words were correct...but were they? He had fell for the words of the Nightmare to penetrate his defense  and second guess himself but he was more than that.

Watching as the hand slowly pulled back to deliver the coup de grace, something within Nura snapped him out of it. He was not just here to prove a point. To fix the mistakes of his father. No he was here to pave his own path and push through with his own power. By no other means than his own. As the hand released and lurched forward to strike its target it would be caught by Nura's right hand. The strength slowly began to return to him as he regained his right mind, and punched the Nightmare with his free hand forcing him to drop the male. Standing up he would rub his throat and spit out what appeared to be blood and chuckled," Maybe you are right. Maybe you aren't. Who's to say? Certainly not you. My path is my own. And anything that tries to stop me? I'll end it. Simple as that," and as he finished he was on the Nightmare. What had once become a one sided fight came back to its owner as Nura began to violently assault the Nightmare. Right left, left right. As the Nightmare stumbled back, he would grab it by the arm pulling back to him before jumping and connecting his knee into its chin. As it stumbled back he would continue to hit it with a flurry of combos before rearing back. As he put his full strength into the hit, he would punch and upon impact the sheer force would flash in a display of black lightning as the nightmare dropped to the ground and slowly began to vanish," Never again tell me what my path is...It is whatever I make it. Not you. Not Ryou. Not Ishimaru. Me," turning his back he would hear the last gasp of the Nightmare as he walked back to the group.

Coming back over battered, a little bloody but with a smile on his face he would wave off any medical care and chuckle," Not needed. I would not be strong if I could not take a pummeling. Though all my Nightmare self had to say was utter bullshit so I can't help you there but I have a feeling we should be nearing the finish line any moment now," looking forward he wondered the last obstacle would be for them. As they pushed onward he rolled his shoulder to get rid of some of the stiffness he had been feeling in his body up until now. One thing was for sure his Nightmare packed a punch, but that was satisfactory for him. As they arrived at the finish line or he thought he could hear another voice, this time booming from all around him. The things within this space loved to tell him what he could and could not do apparently and it was getting tiresome. Cracking his knuckles he would step forward and give it a thumbs down motion as he then flicked it off," I'm tired of you pieces of shit trying to tell me what I can and cannot do. How about I just shove my fist down your throat?," what he did not notice was the ground he had been standing on. As he looked down he would see a visage of himself or at least his present form. Interesting. His had been positioned on the Northern side seemingly on the same side as Mirabelle. Seeing the entity coming at them, he would take a stance, and spin once causing the wind to whip around him as he punched causing a shell of wind to stop the Avatar's attack dead in its tracks before Mirabelle severed the arm that had tried to attack.

The fight at hand was annoying because he could not time his attacks perfectly, but something clicked in him. What if he moved in accordance with the others. Each time they attacked it would cause a moment of pause within the avatar and that would be his time. A smirk appeared on his face as he hyped himself up and took a stance. Sliding his right foot back and moved his left hand forward he would let out a battlecry as he released the Fourth Gate as his skin began to turn red and a semi visible form of chakra began to exude from him. Dashing forward he would time this attack right as he slid to a stop and channeled his chakra into his feet, swirling around his leg. Rearing his leg for a kick he would laugh and taunt the Avatar," Eat your heart out!!," and as he kicked a loud blast could be heard, sounding like a dragons roar. The black would travel forward before transforming into a black dragon with Red eyes. Once it had connected with the Avatar it would violently explode catching it in the crossfire. A smile would appear on its face as the battled finally concluded and slowly he activated his formation. Taking in a deep breath he would take a knee for a moment before standing up and laughing, WHAT A RUSH. If only I can feel something like that when i'm awake. Good job... I guess," he'd say to the others. Turning he would see a door starting to form and on it had been a Red Dragon surrounded by Green and Blue flames. Fitting now wasn't it. Shaking his head he would walk toward the door and open it, closing it behind him and suddenly the world...came to be as it was.

After a moment he would wake up on the roof where he had went to sleep, yawning and scratching his stomach. He felt like he had a dream that was probably going to be the best one he would ever have even if the events were a little blurred together. But in the end? He was pleased.

Blooming Blossoms [Event-Halloween] - Page 2 Empty Re: Blooming Blossoms [Event-Halloween]

Tue Dec 12, 2023 2:39 am
Kenshin fought against the creatures that seemed to come at an endless wave, he'd bat one away with the side of the combistick before being forced to defend against another and allow the initial hybridized animal slink back into the pack to strike at him once more at a later date, but that wasn't to imply that he was failing to kill any of the nightmares due to their numbers, he was already strong and fast in the real world but in this alternative reality, whatever brought him forth had deemed it fit to enhance his body into almost inhuman levels, he could smash the skull of the smaller creatures with a club of his hand, he could crush the ribcages of the canine like creatures with a single stomp of his foot, and his speed left them little time to overwhelm, every mistake was covered and prepared to be countered, a surprise attack stopped with the staff of the combistick, countered with the flick of a wrist to draw the wrist blades out to impale the creature who had clawed helpless against the metal armor before it was sliced in half. Yet as easy as it would've been to lose himself in the heat of the battle, fighting against an endless horde until he fell in honourable combat against them, he remained alert and aware of his companions and the one who watches, ready to retreat and step in to help at a moment's notice, so when the pink one approached to offer aid, he paid her no mind, only giving a single nod and offering the wounded arm to be healed as his mandibles clicked in warning against the approaching creatures, his combistick held in one arm and poking forward to push them back while the healer tended to the slash.

He was grateful to the burning one who replaced his position, turning his attention to help fend off what Kenshin couldn't until finally with a single pat, Kenshin was allowed to push forward once more, slowly grinding his way forward with the burning one who focused on the flying threats, the way in which the man moved was fascinating and something Kenshin would've asked about had it been the real world, but between the fact it may only be a dream and the unrelenting force of enemies they faced, he would not have the time to question him about that nature of his attacks, although perhaps he may use that as inspiration in creating or learning a jutsu similar to that attack. Their advance forward would come to an end however as the healer called them back, an idea had been formed and Kenshin retreated with ease, swiping and thrust his combistick at any creature that had mistook his retreat as weakness, continuing his defensive attacks as the healer counted down while Kenshin remained to the woman's right, just behind her to keep her defended while remaining out of the way of whatever she had planned, yet when she reached 7, he could feel a heat source to his left, glancing toward it he saw as the burning one prepared to launch his own attack alongside the healer, a fact that caused Kenshin to lament his own lacking arsenal, even in his new form he wasn't granted any new jutsu to learn as far as he aware so instead he could only watch as the rest of his allies unleashed they attacks against the horde, wiping them out with ease.

"They have fallen but where is the one who wat-" Kenshin was in the middle of speaking when the healer's warning reached his words, instantly he spun the combistick in front of him as his eyes searched for the danger he was warned about, yet he found his combistick clashing against another before being struck back with an open palm strike, enhanced by a power that pushed him far away from his allies, the only saving grace Kenshin had was this new form was bulkier and strong enough to keep himself on his feet, he only growled and let his mandibles click in irritation as he looked toward a far more familiar face. His own, normal face stood opposite of him, donning the more familiar armor of his clan and armed with a similar assortment of weapons, from the wrist blades to the combistick, even the armor and helmet remained the same and the other Yautja's mandibles clicked in fascination. Without a word, the two began to circle each other, mandibles clicking in warning as the eyed the other, scanning for weakness and planning on how they'd approach the other with only the occasional probing attack sent out, a test to determine the other's strengths and weakness, a battle of the mind and Kenshin knew his doppelganger had been given a power of some sort, perhaps one of his clan's jutsu if he had to guess, it was enough to cover the gap that should've existed between the two with his dream form being inhumanly strong and fast.

Kenshin made the first real strike, another probing attack was chained into a follow up attack, allowing the point of one end to be knocked to the right and instead stepping forward to swipe at the copy with the wings at the opposite side of the combistick, a move that should've worked was instead narrowly avoided by the other Yautja moving back yet even he couldn't properly defend himself as Kenshin thrusted forward, the combistick being knocked off center to instead only clip the copy's arm with one of the wings but first blood had gone to him, it was a good sign but it was the only beginning, drawing the combistick back once more, they both resumed circling the other, the other Yautja either ignoring the pain or immune to it outright and the mask of his clan offered no insight, it's visor stared lifelessly back at him.

The copy made the next move, a series of quick jabs being launched at him as the doppelganger approached with each strike, trying to push him back which Kenshin had allowed hesitantly, moving at an angle to circle around that the copy followed as each thrust became faster and faster, as if the copy was growing stronger with each attack Kenshin deflected until finally one strike broke through the defense and smashed into his chest, the stronger armor held but knocked him slightly off balance. A less honourable warrior would've rushed forward to strike at him, yet his copy's mandibles clicked in satisfaction as it backed away to allow him to resume their duel, a faint glow of chakra evident on his form as he seemed to enter a stronger state of whatever had been powering him up.

With a frustrated growl, Kenshin and his copy once more began to circle once more, the battlefield around them forgotten as the duo danced with death itself, swipes and jabs were once more being exchanged to test the new capabilities that the copy possessed, however the copy knew it had a slight edge as it became more daring in it's attacks, swipes that were there to test his reaction instead became swipes that were trying to sneak through his guard yet he remained vigilant against his copy's attacks, waiting for his chance to strike back carefully, allowing the other Yautja to become continue to toy with him, each strike barely being deflected or defended against and he knew the copy would move soon, it'd be a fool not to push it's edge. Yet when it finally took a step forward to really begin pushing his advantage, Kenshin studied and waited, feeling as each strike once more slowly became faster and stronger until finally he spotted his opening, the thrust aimed toward his abdomen was pushed down to the right and he stepped forward and thrust his combistick into the arm of the copy, he could feel the pointed tip of the enemies' combistick stab and scrap against the faulds, digging into his hip yet what could've been a potentially fight ending strike was stopped as the copy was forced to let go of the combistick or risk letting it's arm be impaled and the other combistick fell to the ground harmlessly, unable to support itself in the small indent it created in the armor.

The copy growled as it drew forth the wrist blades, Kenshin only clicked the three buttons on his own weapon to deactivate it, securing the scroll like device onto his back once more before flicking his own wrist to engage in the second half of the duel, the duo once more circling each other and eyeing the other, a scrape on the wrist of the copy revealed his plan to disarm it had nearly scored him an additional wound, although in doing so, he could feel his own hip ache from the combistick nearly stabbing into it. This fight was going to be more dangerous, no longer could they poke and prod, instead they'd have to commit to an attack and leave themselves open to failure, a wrong move here and the battle would be over, they'd push the advantage until the other had fallen or they fell.

The copy made the first move, letting out a roar as it rushed forward, swiping in a diagonal strike that was met with the Yautja's own counter, deflecting the blade upward before he was forced to counter another strike with his unarmed left hand, the copy attempted to strike him and Kenshin pushed the fist away before stepping forward with his own counter kick, knocking the copy to the ground. Kenshin watched as the copy got to his feet, and the chakra flowing around him grew stronger before he once more charged forward, the clash was swift and over in a second yet Kenshin had thought he deflected the blade properly but the burning pain in his lower right ribcage had told him he didn't create enough distance between himself and the blades. Growling, Kenshin turned toward his copy, who had also turned to face him and the two stared at each other, eyeing the other for just a moment before the copy rushed forward once more.

This time, it refused to strike and leave with only one attack, instead the copy remained to duel as the wrist blades clashed against one another over and over again as both tried to secure their own strike while countering the other, yet they weren't inactive with their bodies either, for each swipe or thrust with the wrist blade, a punch of kick was sure to follow, slowly wearing the other down until the first mistake was made, a kick to Kenshin's knee knocked him off balance and the follow up attack of the wrist blades dug in and through the armor, slashing his chest and forcing a roar from his mouth as he fell back. Neon green painted the armor and the copy's wrist blade, who only flicked the strange blood off the blades and allowed Kenshin to get back to his feet, ready to resume the duel and claim victory once and for all.

Kenshin rose to his feet with a shaky breath, the wound cut deep and pained him to move but he couldn't falter, he'd fight until he could no longer. Bringing forth his arms in a defensive position once more, the duo resumed circling the other, prepared to strike at the other yet he could tell the copy had felt assured of his victory, the constant neon green blood that spilt from his chest must've been reassuring to the copy as it rushed in once more, another swipe that Kenshin countered and the duo began their close ranged battle once more, metal rang out as it clashed and scrapped against each other, blade meeting blade to secure or prevent a kill while the two Yautja members sought to weaken the other with strikes, the copy had clear targets as it struck into his earlier ribcage wound yet he noticed something odd, the glow of chakra was flickering. Weakening. Kenshin knew he had to maintain his defense just a bit longer, the limit of the copy's jutsu was fast approaching and Kenshin could strike back when the time came. He just needed to wait until that opening presented itself, even as he felt his muscles ache and his breathing become laboured as the copy seemed to realize his waning power and began to lash out in desperation, it was getting sloppy and while it secured painful hits, Kenshin allowed it to defend against the truly dangerous strikes.

By the time Kenshin saw the chakra faded, he had been slashed and stabbed nearly 6 times throughout his body, not a single limb was untouched yet the difference in strength and speed became apparently as the copy suddenly found his final clash overpowered and weapon pushed away with ease, leaving him open to a kick from the real Kenshin, a kick that knocked him away. "You have fought well. I shall strive to not only match but exceed you." Kenshin finally spoke to his copy who had seemed to realize it's defeat was imminent as it reached up for his helmet, taking it off to reveal his true face looking up at him, tired but with respect in it's eyes. "This strange monstrous form that has been granted to you is the goal you should strive to defeat. We have shown you that we were no match for it despite being your ideal warrior." The copy finally spoke as it rose to it's knees, it's head lowered as it awaited the finishing strike, the words it spoke were true and something he'd consider on his path to improve, even reaching what he had believed to be his peak could still come with some risk should he grow too complacent with dreams. Nodding to the copy, Kenshin stabbed into the copy's chest and lifted up, tearing through while Kenshin grabbed it's throat, forcing the skull to detach from the body as it brought it's head to the sky and roared, signifying his victory over his copy.

Returning once more to his allies, Kenshin nodded and accepted the medial aid from the healer once more, his wounds were too grievous to go ignored and would hinder any ability to aid them in whatever they faced next, he had a feeling that the one who watches wasn't quite done with them yet. When a rift formed before them, Kenshin knew it was a call to action, that it was finally time to face the one who watches and their time in this world would come to an end, either as victors or causalities against whatever strange force had called them here. "We move as one." Kenshin reminded the group as he followed after the healer, stepping into the unknown and ready to face whatever they may find.

Appearing on the east, Kenshin stood ready to fight against the booming voice, a devourer of sorts that hid in the darkness until it was time to strike, large arms attempting to strike down the strongest warriors first yet both were easily able to deal with the attacks and the final battle truly begun as Kenshin rushed forward to join them in their battle against whatever this creature seemed to be. Large arms lashed out with an equally large weapon, staying out of range for most of the time yet Kenshin didn't allow that fact to stop him, he moved forth and struck at the arm, jumping and moving from platform to platform when it moved to strike at him, each attempt it made at him he repaid with a cut, it was pathetic, it was weak but he'd kill the creature through a thousand paper cuts if need be. That didn't need to be the case however as the burning one secured the final blow with another explosive technique, a large black dragon clashed into the one who watches and seemingly defeated whatever it may be. "It was a honour to fight with you all. Know that I shall not knowingly raise my blade against any of you in the real world." Kenshin finally spoke to his allies as he rested on the ground in a meditative position, trying to regain his energy and control his laboured breathing, the efforts he had put in during the final battle was mostly moving and he doubted he could've faced this threat alone, if not falling at the horde or the his copy later on, he'd be helpless to act against the one who had brought him forth.

"May your journeys be successful and safe. This has been quite the event." Kenshin bid his own farewell to the group, opening the door marked with the symbol of his clan, two simple red strokes that looked almost like a T before he found himself slowly waking up in the real world, his muscles and physical fatigue gone yet he couldn't deny that his chakra had taken a beating and the emotional and mental fatigue persisted, the only true sign that something had indeed happened in the world of dreams, something that might've caused many problems if it had went unopposed. With a pleased smile to himself, Kenshin settled back down in his bed roll, he was curious what would become his allies in the dream world, how different they'd look compared to their dream state and rather or not he'd be able to recognize any of them if they would ever cross paths, with such a large world and no possible leads on where any of them had even came from, Kenshin doubted he'd ever meet them again but he'd cherish the memory of his allies against the nightmare realm.

Kenshin Yautja wrote:Kenshin fought against the creatures that seemed to come at an endless wave, he'd bat one away with the side of the combistick before being forced to defend against another and allow the initial hybridized animal slink back into the pack to strike at him once more at a later date, but that wasn't to imply that he was failing to kill any of the nightmares due to their numbers, he was already strong and fast in the real world but in this alternative reality, whatever brought him forth had deemed it fit to enhance his body into almost inhuman levels, he could smash the skull of the smaller creatures with a club of his hand, he could crush the ribcages of the canine like creatures with a single stomp of his foot, and his speed left them little time to overwhelm, every mistake was covered and prepared to be countered, a surprise attack stopped with the staff of the combistick, countered with the flick of a wrist to draw the wrist blades out to impale the creature who had clawed helpless against the metal armor before it was sliced in half.
