Winter Time Madness

Missions:

Its winter. That’s right it is Crom’s favorite time of year, the weather gets chilly and people stop going outside as much. This is the best time of year for the anti-social shinobi. It probably also helps that Crom’s Clan thrive in the cold, their bodies adapted to the frigid weather that it is like being out in the calming spring or summer. Even here in Hoshigakure it was snowing, an occurrence that really made the world feel like it was brand new. With the snow covering the village and seeming like a new slate to be acted upon Crom donned his typical clothing and proceeded to head outside. There were few people out and about the village with the newest color palette, but the majority of them were children running and playing in the freshly fallen snow. Some parents hung by their windows watching the kids at play and others sat nearby or playing with the children, it was a heartwarming situation seeing everyone just enjoying themselves.
 
Crom typically disliked interacting with people more then needed but he spied a young child having issues forming the parts needed for a snowman, Crom approached the child with the intent to help correct the issues. Winter was the only time of the year that Crom felt like interacting with others outside his own home, something about the cold and snow made him want others to enjoy the time it was around before it eventually left them when spring came back around. “I see you are have some hardship making that snowman, I happen to be an expert builder of snowmen and women and other snow things.” Crom said proudly as he was quite good with making things from snow and now with his mastery of the Ice element of his Clan he could even make some pretty amazing Ice sculptures.
 
The child looked at Crom strangely at first more because for a moment the child had thought a Snowman had come to live itself with how pale and white Crom was but hearing them speak snap the child out of that disillusion. “Pale man I’ll take your word for it and gladly take some help.” The child spoke deciding that any kind of help was better then no help as the child looked back at its failed attempt to getting the snow to stack and take shape. Crom nodded his head and went to work grabbing the snow with his bare hands and stared to pack it together. He began to explain how to properly pack snow and which was the best to use, “You see this fresh powder isn’t good for packing this helps more for filling in any cracks once you start stacking it or for making slushie like snow more solid and dense.” He rambled as he showed the kid on what he meant and how it worked. “Easiest way to tell if the snow you got is good snow is if you step on it and it crunches then it will pack very well. If you step in it and it seems to fly away as if it was dust its not any good for packing.” It didn’t take long for Crom to have a sizable Snowman standing next to him, for this building Crom went with the standard three snowball with two stick arms a carrot nose and rock eyes and smile.
 
“Now then little one do you think you can do it by yourself?” Crom asked the child who had seemed to take in all the information very well as they were making a smaller snowman next to the one Crom had made. While it wasn’t perfect it was a success especially if you compared it to the child’s prior attempt. Crom smiled at the child and patted them on the head. Thinking it was time to go explore the village though it seemed the local kids had seen the snowman building and figured it was time to include the two builders into some Snow based warfare, as a snowball smacked into the wall next to Crom and the child. “Come on you wussies. This is our street and we will defend it till the last man.” A child in the distant called out as more snowballs came raining in their direction, it seemed everyone had joined in the snowball fight and there was no escape from such a bombardment.
 
There was something humorous about a bunch of Shinobi and Citizens throwing snowballs at each other when most could throw with an accuracy that would snipe a fly’s wing off it mid-flight. People took hits to the face and other areas with a frequency that massive snow forts were being constructed to defend against the attacks. Where was Crom during all this fighting? Well after the first tossed snowball Crom had joined with the resistance a bunch of kids from down the street that were fighting against the ones that had almost hit the shinobi earlier. The fighting had gone well for their side, Crom’s weirdly innate talent with dealing with snow shined bright in this environment as he had been sniping the opponents “leaders” quite frequently and had been the main reason for the sudden build up of the snow forts that now spanned whole sides of the streets.
 
“Now this is the kind of social interaction I can get behind.” Crom muttered to himself as he launched another volley of snowballs towards the enemy fort, peppering it trying to wear down walls themselves hoping to cause them to collapse. Moments later the effect that Crom had been going for happened, and a large portion of the enemy’s wall fell and exposed many of the opposite side which were quickly peppered with snowballs and wet slushy snow heaved by the bigger kids. With the collapse of the enemy’s fort The Resistance as they had been calling themselves declared that they were in fact the rightful rulers of the street and it was free for everyone to use. This was when Crom decided to head out from the fight and get some food. Overall so far his day was going well and he had an inkling that these similar situations were happening everywhere and he looked quite forward to joining in some more before the snow melted.
