Rice Shopping, you mean joy?

Mission Details:

The owner of the tea shop was a wizened old crone, this was true.  Sassy, sarcastic, nothing could ever be done correctly if she was not directly involved and responsible.....Asahi loved her.  He had worked at several tea shops or bars since they'd left the Yagami compound.  He'd found the job of drink server to fit in his wheelhouse, and had earned more than a few ryo in performing what he considered a rather simple function.  Most of that ryo had subsequently been lost, but so was the way of money.  Still the tea shop was closed today for a much needed restocking. 

Having been asked to come in, Asahi was tasked with not only the purchase and picking up of the goods, but also learning the order and billing sheets.  It was dull work, but he assumed it was a slight increase in his responsibilities, to eventually be worked into a major increase in his pay.  Long list in hand he made his way into the Tanbogakure market place and began to grab goods.  Fruits and baking supplies, hibiscus, herbs, spices, the list went on and on and had no hope of stopping.  His backpack quite full he made his way back to the tea shop to drop the goods off only to set off once again.

His second task was purchasing a new set of dining ware, both simples and formals.  The owner had trusted him for this for his sense of style and taste......or she didn't have anyone else to perform the duties her old eyes could no longer perform.  Still he preferred to believe the former rather than the later.  He shortly arrived at a store and began inspecting their wares.  Porcelain and clay, white plates with decorative blue dyes, the works lined the shop that was built next to the blacksmiths.  A husband and wife operation.

He quickly picked out three new tea sets.  One in fine seafoam green with intricate decorations of far off beasts, a pale pink set with images of roses gently spread across the plates, and a set of black clay with gold livery.  Satisfied with his work he would return the delicate items to the tea shop.  Setting them up and placing the prop bake goods on them to experiment with different displays.  The old lady snoozed comfortably in a chair as a black cat leaped and curled in her lap.  Sitting back he'd light his pipe admiring his work.

Village life.....it wasn't so bad.  He was starting to get used to these little odd jobs, so much so he occasionally forgot to grumble about them to Yasahiro on their weekly sake run.  It was a peaceful life, a simple life.....one that he wondered how long it would last for.  His trust in his cousin was unwavering, but he always sensed something darker lurking behind those eyes, and he hadn't sensed it in some time.  Some might see this as a good sign, Asahi however saw it, as an uncertainty.
