Mission: Maintenance

Teiho had arrived at the bank around the time of closing as was instructed, the young bank teller that had stayed behind greeted him with a soft smile on her face as she went about her duties and finished counting up the last bit of money before storing it in the vault behind her. Teiho himself moved towards the storage area near the left side of the hall, his instructions had been very clear that all of the necessary materials needed to complete this very simple task would be provided in said supply closet. It would take him a few moments to locate everything, a bucket here, a slightly dinghy rag there. The broom and dustpan took far too long to find but in the end he had most of his tools for the task. Glancing back into the small room, he located a conspicuous bottle of cleaner and shrugged.

The job was fairly menial. Sweeping the floor in an orderly fashion was about as mind numbing as he knew it could be, but money was money and in a way he could turn it into a bit of training. Making sure to perform the task in such a way that he could perform his simpler kata’s, the young man took his time with it. Covering half the floor in about an hour, he felt himself finally working up a sweat as he got down the kata’s, working his way through some of the forms before he finally felt a pair of eyes watching him from across the foyer. Looking up, he could see the young bank clerk watching him intently. Her low eyes scanning his open frame as he worked through the evening. He didn’t show any surprise as he looked up from his work to see if there was anything he could help the woman with causing her to jump and return to her own work.

It was any wonder how he had ended up in this situation. His back to the janitor door as his body moved erratically on its own. The random and varied grunts and sounds of movement seemed to fill out from underneath the closed door, and yet nobody came by to check on the various strange sounds coming out. Within the room were two young people, ripe in the age of exploration, and figuring out the various intricacies of their bodies, the actions they were performing were beyond comprehension for most people who hadn’t already experienced some forms of adulthood. Of course some people would find what the two youngsters were doing would be rather disrespectful, but to the two teens, the actions they were performing only seemed as natural as it was instinctual.

Of course I’m talking about the young woman struggling to get a box of goodies loose from the top shelf, having asked Teiho to help her with the task seeing as he had already done most of his work for that evening. He idly wondered what was in the cardboard box, the thing was much heavier than most boxes he had handled in his life. It was honestly driving him nuts with curiosity as even he struggled to get the thing down. It was likely that the box was just snagged on some random nail or the lip of the ledge it was sitting on, but the two didn’t seem to notice such details or care about why their task was much harder than it should of been as they yanked together to finally dislodge it from its resting place. The box came tumbling over after them, the heavy object coming to rest on Teiho’s chest after he pushed the young woman to the side to avoid it falling on her head. He would let out a heavy exhale as the box crushed the air out of his lungs causing the young woman to react with worry and care before she helped him move the object off of him.

The young woman would thank him for his help, and then request that he carry it home for her. The box was obviously too heavy for her to carry by herself, which begged the question on how she got it up there in the first place, but having nothing else to do, pledged his assistance after they had finished closing up the bank. It seemed that the young woman had taken a liking to the young Hyuuga, which was weird to him considering the two hadn’t spent much time together, but it didn’t matter to him. His focus was still solely on improving himself and avenging his parents. All other things came second to that.
