Don't Let Him Leave (Mission)

Gin waited, listening to the battle from within the smoke, his hand gripped another kunai, trying to think of another plan of attack, but there was a pause a moment of silence after the voice of the traitor struggled, this prompted Gin to run out the smoke, albeit cautiously with his kunai in hand. When he noticed Yuurei standing victorious over the fallen foe, he sighed in relief.

As Yuurei asked, Gin ran over and checked on the fallen genin; he had passed out due to pain and nerve shock, although not enough to kill him unless Gin chose to allow him to bleed out, which he didn't. He focused his chakra into his hand and gently placed it over the wound on the back. "You got to give me a moment, Yuurei-kun, I have to make sure he is safe to transport" This was a delicate process; even though Gin was able to analyze the damage, repairing it would be short of a miracle, "He has about one or two shattered thoracic vertebrae, and no doubt you destroyed their intervertebral discs-" he stopped for a moment as the chakra from his hands shifted so slightly, he felt it with his fingers, like the fine threads he uses to move his puppets, to feel their weight like whispers, "Yeah, you shattered one of the discs, this guy is never walking again" Gin stated this with little emotional, although he tried his best to hide his excited, the fact that he was able to work on his first living patient was thrilling, but he knew he had to keep his emotions in check; he wasn't afraid of showing his feelings and thoughts to Yuurei, but he wouldn't want this side of him to leak out to others... He's read how people treat others who seem to be 'monsters' in human nature.

Yuurei would look over to see Gin appear from the smoke he was hiding in, and he would watch him take care of the guy on the floor. He wondered if he was dead, but he knew that he did do his best to make sure that he didn’t hit him in a spot where he could die. In the end, he couldn’t do anything except wait for Gin to finish taking care of him. He would relax as his body would return to normal and his eyes would change back to normal. They were done with this little fight, and they were able to take this man out before he could escape from the village. It wouldn’t take long, but Gin would tell him the result of his walking condition, and Yuurei would shake his head.

“If that is the case then he was better off dying. I guess he will be living a horrible life from now on. Well, let’s take him to where he needs to go, so that way they can extract the information about his leaving and reward us for stopping someone from the village to leave without permission.” He said to his partner as he moved to the man on the ground.

He would pick up one side of him and he would look over to Gin as he wasn’t going to be carrying this guy on his own.

“I’m going to need your help with moving the body.” He would say this to Gin.

When his friend got into position, Yuurei would start moving away from the training ground they were in. He knew where he was going, and it would be near the Kazekage’s office. The young man would march his way over there and while doing so there were people who would see this and start whispering towards each other. It wouldn’t take long, but due to the whispers, a few ninjas would surround Yuurei and Gin and one of them would approach the two of them.

“What’s going on here? Why do you have an unconscious ninja in your hands?” He would ask Yuurei.

“Well, he planned on escaping, we stopped him and were bringing to the office, so that you guys can extract that information out of him to see that we were telling the truth.” He would explain to the ninja in front of him.

The man would look at the young boy and then to his friend and then to the unconscious man and he would only shake his head. He was surprised that these two had taken this guy out with how young they looked.

“Come with me then.” He would say this to them as he would grab the body and they would make their way to their destination.

It wouldn’t take long, but they would end up in a building, and they would wait about an hour before the same ninja would come out of the room.

“It seems like you were telling the truth, which is a good thing because a lot of things could have happened. If anything here is your reward for handling this situation and bringing him back to us alive. It sucks that he will be rotting away without being able to walk.” He said to the two of them as he had handed them their reward.

Yuurei would shrug his shoulders as he would grab his reward and then looked at Gin as he was ready to leave this place.

“Let’s go get something to eat, and could you heal me up as well. The guy did do a number on me, but that was because I was holding back most of the time.” He said to Gin as this turned out to be a weird day.

Gin did his best to stop any internal bleeding and repair any of the broken vertebrae, however repairing the the disc that was shattered would be impossible, at least by his own skill. Another minute and the medic would put the unconscious genin into better condition, but given Yuurei's impatience, the best he could do is stabilize him.

As Gin assisted his friend with carrying the traitor, they carefully made their way to the Kage's office, the largest building but due to it's position in the village, the most fortified and strategically protected. For a moment, Gin wondered what drove Yuurei to become who he is and who he wants to be; so far what Yuurei seems to talk about a lot is protecting the village and getting paid, and since both tend to tie into one another with the missions, Yuurei was lucky to know what he wanted and what to aim for, but what if one conflicted the other? What kind of story would be birthed for the young ninja if somehow the authorities couldn't pay them? What if an invader or maybe the traitor they were carrying had offered a larger sum of money; what choice or turn would the younger ninja make? And since Gin had no true direction except for following Yuurei... what would he do?

They reached the office and turned in the criminal. Gin looked towards the door and noticed a ninja donning black attire with a white decorative mask guarding the door, staring in his direction. He knew there that he and Yuurei weren't allowed to leave until their story was confirmed. Gin didn't worry, but the thought crossed his mind, "What if Yuure wasn't sure about what he said?" if that was the case, then the two of them would face serious consequences for putting a fellow ninja out of commission. A bead of sweat fell from his forehead, though a quick moment of nervousness rushed up his spine, Gin felt alive. This was the world of ninjas, such a thrill, such a play to perform.

In the end, Yuurei and Gin were in the right, and they were rewarded, all the while, Gin felt alive, desiring to further his career, wanting to tread the darkest corners of this career... to find life on the edge of death.
