Clean Up That Damn Sand ( E Rank Mission )

Mission Info:

Cleaning up sand. That was his life. Watching over the bank, cleaning up sand, doing all the menial tasks that the common folk were too lazy to do. “Well its about time someone did something about this!” An older man who seemed to be able to barely keep his eyes opened barked as Furozan swept away the sand out in front of his shop. “Nothin been right since the old Mizukage left I tell ya. You shinobi been lazy for far too long! We are the lifeblood of this economy and you best not forget it!”

Furozan gritted his teeth and nodded his head and let out a quiet “Understood.” As the man continued barking on. Furozan was not threatening looking enough to impose his will on the man so he returned to his work. How had this become his life? He could be at the grand library right now helping research a better way to do this. Maybe there was a Jutsu that could be created that would keep the streets clean? There were so many better ways to be spending his time rather than taking a broom and cleaning up sand.

Despite his internal dialogue he was still a man who did what he was told. A soldier, a learner, whatever you wanted to call it. Furozan was given a mission and he would fulfill the mission. There were no if ands or buts it just was how he operated. Finishing up in front of the shop he was currently working on he moved across the street and spent the next few hours repeating his actions. He wondered what the higher ranked shinobi were off doing while the Genin were left to these tasks? Maybe they were on top secret missions and actually contributing. He would find out one day…. He hoped.

A commotion broke out behind him and he glanced over his shoulder to witness two men yelling. He turned around and leaned against his broom and listened in at the shouting. “That price is criminal!” One of the men shouted as he backed away from a larger shop keeper. “Where do you get off overcharging us like this?” Furozan furrowed his brow as the shop keeper, who was seemingly getting more fed up with the customer, kept moving forward as if he was going to strike him down.

“My prices are the fairest in town and it is slander to suggest otherwise!”

“I can get this same stuff myself for cheaper across the village and I won’t have to look at that ugly mug while doing it!”

This went on for some time until the customer finally paid what he owed and huffed away still shouting about how the prices were terrible. He could not understand the mindset. Why would you go looking for trouble like that? How safe did the villagers think they were in this place that they could go around insulting others and indulging themselves like they did? They were getting soft. Cozy. Fat. He remembered a time when the Village was barely functioning and now they acted like all of that had gone away. As if what had happened in the past could not ever happen again.

He did not dwell on the thoughts for long and spent the next few hours cleaning up around the place. Hopefully he could get some better missions soon but for now he would accept his lot in life. He would earn his Ryo and keep his head down, completing missions, and doing what he needed to in order to keep growing stronger each and every day.
