Chuunin Exam Finals: Yoi Yuki vs Tadashi Namikaze

Extending a jittery hand, Tadashi managed to stabilize himself against the arena entrance wall. Filled with darkness, with only a sliver of the constant light gleaming in the Konoha afternoon allowing the ginger to see what was only ahead of him. His head swarm, thoughts raced, notions of nightmares coming into reality, toppled with a churning stomach. The idea of reaching the Chuunin Exam Finals was one so surreal to the young Namikaze; a year ago, he would have thought that it was an unreachable goal, yet ironically, his goal was right in front of him. The sand-scraped slabs of walls did nothing to deter from the surrealism Tadashi felt alienated by the walls as if he wasn't supposed to touch them yet. All he needed to do was to win. Yet, to win, was to deprive someone else of victory. In the back of his mind, he knew that if his expectations were true, the ginger would have needed to cross blades with Yoi Yuki. But, Tadashi didn't expect the battle to come so quickly. Did he hunger for victory so much to harm a friend? He had already done so with Minato Uchiha in the beginning matches, but to potentially make someone lose at the finals, especially their friend, was nothing short of cruel towards them. 

"Tadashi Namikaze and Yoi Yuki, you may make your way to the stage."


"Time doesn't wait for your feelings." Tadashi sighed whilst musing in his thoughts. The static crackle of the Exam announcer echoed throughout the arena, easily reaching the depths of the battle arena entrance pathway. The announcer helped the ginger steady himself back to reality, almost compelling the young boy to keep on moving. "There's no time to think about sentimentalities. He knew of the risks when signing up for the exams. He knew that there was a chance of losing every battle. It's just something we don't like to think about until it actually hits us..." The Namikaze stabilized his erratic breathing patterns, keeping it in constant equilibrium. 

He strode to the arena.

The whiplash of Konoha's breeze was a slap in the face to Tadashi, yet one needed. The cheers and the jeers from the audience kept him razor-sharp. A battle was a battle, and it's one that he needed to win. To prove to the Hokage that he could face Kirigakure and reclaim Konoha's independence, all rested on this fight. Tadashi kept all of his equipment in his respective positions, Jubaku and its sheath rested stably on his left hip, so that his right hand could easily "quickdraw" when needed. He stood 15 meters left from the center of the ring, parallel to it. 


"Waiting is always the most nerve-racking part," Tadashi spoke out loud.

A small smirk appeared on Tadashi's expression once an outline of his opponent was visible. Tadashi respected Yoi a fair amount, they both performed missions together, therefore the ginger had a rough estimate of the young Yuki's caliber as a shinobi. He knew exactly what to expect, so there was no reason to feel fear; fear is what creates loss, and Tadashi had gone too far to just lose in the finals. Sure, someone could say that there was no reason to try so hard in a battle that you could be defeated in and still reap the rewards of a Chuunin, but the ginger knew that he would feel a sour taste in his mouth if he lost. He couldn't reach an epiphany for the reason he felt this way about losing now, but if the Namikaze had to guess, it'd be something akin to pride...

The cool Konoha breeze gently coursed through the atmospheric tension of the two. Both staring down each other, beckoning each to do the first move, as if it was an internal dance of fighting spirits. The ginger's expression darkened once they gazed at each others' souls. Suddenly, Yoi uttered a few words, whether they be genuine excitement or a sly taunt, Tadashi wouldn't care. They both understood each others' wishes and aspirations, and that's what truly mattered.

It was time to dance.

Tadashi let Yoi perform his handseals, watching in curiosity, but getting mentally prepared to counter his attack when the young Yuki chucked a block of ice at the boy. A sense of euphoria rushed through the ginger's body and his breathing was unusually stable, feeling as though he could tussle with a bloodlusted bear. Outstreching his left hand at max speed as soon as the ice cube was launched, a spark of turquoise electricity burst across his palm, stretching across 2 meters in length. Immediately appeared a projected spear, crafted in reinforced steel. The shaft was 1.5 meters in length and 8 inches in girth and the bladed spike section was 0.5 meters in length and 12 inches in girth. Tadashi held the spear in the middle with his left hand. As the cube drew closer, the ginger uttered these words, "It shall be a legendary battle indeed!" He shouted. 

The spear easily cut through the ice cube with a swipe to the left as the two pieces of ice fell 3 meters adjacent to the left side of the Namikaze. As he sliced through the ice, he dashed forward about 5 meters in the front, gathering speed from his legs. He used his right hand to weave 2 hand seals concurrently whilst dashing. Suddenly, two individual spears of electricity ruptured out of the ginger's mouth; both were 1 meter long and 10 centimeters thick. The two projectiles were 3 meters in front of Tadashi, but 1 meter across and parallel from each other, charging towards Yoi. He would continue dashing towards his opponent, spear in the left hand. 

Should Yoi be pierced by the projectiles, the blow could potentially be too strong for the Yuki to handle, knocking him out immediately.

Tadashi would be very alert as he saw Yoi performing the Clone seal as he stopped in his tracks, activating his 3-tomoe Sharingan in response to Yoi forming the clone seal that the ginger suspected him to do. His predictions were correct, with the 3rd tomoe Sharingan's precognition, Tadashi saw a slight premonition in which Yoi would create a solid Shadow Clone. "Gotcha." The ginger internally smirked and thought as his Sharingan flashed a scarlet red color, copying Yoi's clone hand seal with his right hand before shoving it back into his pocket as Boi and Sadashi would form at the same time; Sadashi already had his Sharingan awakened upon summoning. As Boi appeared 2 meters to the left of Yoi, Sadashi formed 2 meters to the right of Tadashi, therefore, both clones were parallel to each other upon creation. 

"Now it's time for the dance to begin its middle section." 

Immediately after being summoned, Sadashi gracefully formed Ox > Rabbit > Monkey > Seal of Confrontation hand seals with a single right hand in such a fluid manner, you'd expect the same consistency from a coursing river. What was different than a coursing river, was a ball of electricity spurting out of Sadashi's right hand. Chidori was the technique's title, named after the ball of electricity sounding like a thousand birds chirping. Around the time Sadashi created his Chidori, Boi would have already Body flickered to his respective location and Yoi would have to activate his Freezing Aura. Sadashi and Tadashi would both smirk upon seeing the white aura, realizing that it was the same aura Yoi used against Chuta and Fuyo. It had some Freezing properties, but the shield that was Freezing Aura was defenseless against the spear that was Chidori. 

As Yoi activated Freezing Aura, Sadashi instantly dashed and chase Yoi when the Yuki moved to the right, Chidori in hand towards Yoi's barrier. He outstretched his right hand to make it so Chidori was the first thing that'd make contact with the aura. By the time Sadashi arrived just close of Freezing Aura expanding, the aura would have been 7.5 meters in total radius. With resolve, Sadashi slammed the ball of electricity into the aura, creating a brilliant clash of lightning and ice between the two forces. It was an amazing spectacle for the audience to see. Sadashi could feel the ice nearly about to freeze him whole, but he kept on pursuing. Using nearly every ounce of energy he had left in him, he pushed through, destroying the aura in a giant burst of energy. But, there was more to be done in Tadashi's elaborate plan.

The ginger would desummon Sadashi at once when he'd destroy Freezing Aura, rejuvenating all of his energy spent on Sadashi. An influx of memories would begin storming into Tadashi's mind; what stood out the most was the coldness of Yoi's Freezing Aura. That feeling nearly sent chills down the ginger's spine, literally. Forming the ram hand seal in his right pocket with his right hand, Tadashi would simultaneously shoot his "spear" towards the defenseless Yoi with the 15-meter gap between them.

As Tadashi’s clone activated it’s jutsu, Yoi quickly formulated a plan. He quickly deactivated Body Flicker. His clone had finished it’s Body Flickered. Sadashi started running (50 speed). Yoi noticed that Tadashi’s clone seemed to run in a straight line. Yoi made a hypothesis quickly. Both Yoi and Boi threw a kunai in unison. When they throw their kunai, Yoi is at the end of his run to the right and Boi is done with his Body Flicker. Yoi throws a kunai 7 meters forward and 4.4 meters to his left. Boi, who has turned exactly 90 degrees right, throws a kunai 7.6 meters forward and 5 meters to his right. If Sadashi continues on his path, Yoi’s kunai will hit him in Sadashi’s left abdomen, while Boi’s kunai will hit him in his right ankle, causing major bleeding. If either attack hits, it will cut straight through Sadashi and cause major bleeding, causing Sadashi to fall unconscious from the bleeding, which results in Sadashi’s dispersal. Since both kunai will hit Sadashi at the same time, and due to the length of Sadashi’s arms reach, he will not be able to defend his ankle and abdomen at the same time. Boi will remain standing there, ready to fight. Yoi runs 8 meters to his right (speed 49).

Stats and Stuff:

Sadashi and Tadashi, using Sharingan's eye of foresight, saw Yoi and Boi both picking out a Kunai. They'd also see Freezing Aura being suddenly deactivated. Judging by the direction of the snow-haired boy's along with the clone's kunais, the gingers noticed them angling the Kunai in Sadashi's direction in relatively slow motion. Tadashi inwardly sighed in relief, thanking himself for unlocking Sharingan just before the exams, but now wasn't the time to think of things like that. Yoi was his only true enemy, and that's what matters at that moment. The moment Yoi and Boi reached out their pieces of sharpened shrapnel, Sadashi would immediately form the Horse > Rat > Ram > Tiger hand seals in quick succession with the singular usage of his left hand instead of Chidori. During this time, he'd still be running towards Yoi. Smirking for a short moment, an exploding burst of ocherous flames seemingly combusted in all directions from Sadashi. It was transparent and unharming to him, expanding out from an inch in all directions from the clone's body. Should the Kunai attempt to strike any places of Sadashi, they'd easily ricochet off of the reddish aura and dart towards the two white-haired targets at the Kunai throwing speed of 70. Should the two be struck by the Kunai, Boi would turn to smoke and Yoi would most likely be incapacitated. 

Sadashi didn't stop there, still rushing towards Yoi, slightly angling right to chase the boy with a 10-meter radius fiery aura along with his copied Jubaku in hand, wielded on his right hand. Sadashi would also pick up some more Speed, using a popular Shinobi maneuver to chase Yoi with Jubaku. It was called Bull Rush. Should Yoi be caught in the flames, he'd be burnt and incapacitated. Tadashi would simply continue throwing a Kunai attached with an Explosive tag at Boi's chest from Hidden Arms Technique with his left arm; if he hit Boi, the clone would disperse in a transparent buff of smoke...

Yoi saw Sadashi start forming handseals and a wave of fiery chakra emerged from Sadashi. Yoi, seeing a potentially dangerous effect from this, dispersed Boi. Yoi saw Sadashi running towards Yoi, so Yoi decided to run to his right 16 meters while activating Icing Over. After reaching that point, Yoi would Body Flicker 21 meters to his left and 18 meters forward. While Body Flickering, he created 2 Weapons of Ice. These would both be kunai with 30-inch blades. Once his Body Flicker was complete, he would charge at Tadashi, prepared to enter close combat. Yoi would run at Tadashi, attempting to aim for Tadashi’s abdomen and right chest.

As soon as Tadashi viewed Boi disperse in a puff of smoke, he immediately realized that Yoi wanted to fight him one on one, Kumite style. The fight was raging on for a while, feeling like 5 minutes at least to Konoha's Ace. The fight had rushed into its last stage of performance, so Tadashi didn't feel like holding back anymore. The moment Yoi deactivated his Shadow Clone, Boi, the ginger would do so likewise with Sadashi but he delayed it for a few seconds so that Yoi would run 16 meters to Tadashi's left from the Sharingan's precognition yet with no Bull Rush; Blast Wave would die down the instant Sadashi was deactivated, however. Tracking Yoi with his Sharingan, the ginger easily predicted that the snowy-haired Yuki would Body Flicker 21 meters to Tadashi's right and 18 meters forward. Tadashi couldn't help but give a grin full of euphoria once he saw Yoi grow an Ice Armor and his chakra levels increasing exponentially. As Yoi was Body Flickering, Tadashi's expression grew softer for a moment, feeling the electric particles in the atmosphere surrounding him. He could imagine the Lightning crashing to the ground before the thunder ruptured the air in a harsh thunderstorm.

"And so the God of Storms emerged from the sky, with overshowering luster..." Tadashi concentrated for a brief moment, a visible strike of Lightning appearing in his eyes.
