Resolution

He ran into the palace, carrying the body of the boy he had mistakenly killed in his arms as he rushed to try to see if the rumors concerning the queen were true. The boy’s eyes were open and as empty as the void as they gazed up into the sky at nothing. The day was still shining, and otherwise it would be a beautiful day. With the single exception of this hellish moment anyway. Guards and civilians alike moved aside as he ran, already knowing what he was doing based on what they saw as looks of concern adorned their faces. It wasn’t as if he needed directions after all, everyone in Hoshi could at least get to the throne room where he hoped the queen would be at this moment. Lest he have to track her down in the sprawling palace. Dimi’s body was heavy, a limp weight in his arms as he ran up the stairs and through the doors. The weight was much more than simply the physical weight of the body however. Unless the queen could do something then HE had killed this boy. HE would have been the one to take his life in a horrible training accident. ‘Heh, why are you so afraid? You’ve killed before, it’s not like it’s a first.’ The voice in his head from his sword would stir from the feel of his emotions. ‘Never an ally, never someone who was a fellow Hoshigakure Shinobi like myself.’ He would reply in a clipped, frantic tone.

As he dashed into the throne room he found the Queen’s Throne empty, but a nearby guard saw what was going on and pointed down a nearby wall. “Milady is in the palace gardens, that way!” He’d yell as Valen turned and dashed down the hallway at his full speed. The weight seeming get heavier and heavier as he felt Dimi’s chances getting slimmer and slimmer the longer he stayed dead. He dashed out into the palace gardens, searching for her in the large area. He called out in desperation “Please, help!” He’d cry, hoping someone nearby could hear him and bring him to the queen if she herself did not. He looked around, eyes wide with fear at the very idea of his fellow shinobi not making it. He couldn’t let his death stay that way, he had to find a way to save him.
