Hikari learns how to use a kunai (Solo)

Hikari Namikaze was busy doing some warm of stretches in order to prepare herself for her training session, this time, not as a little girl whacking a tree with a stick, not hitting wood on wood, but as a future kunochi preparing to defend herself and the lives of others. In her hip bag was a new Kunai Knife that she purchased by herself. Namikaze finished her stretches and drew the Kunai knife from her bag, the hand wraps was warm and had a wrap on it, but she put her hand on the blade, it was sharp, sharper than she had ever gotten any of the sticks back at home, and cold, so cold, a coldness that wood couldn’t reproduce. The sixteen-year-old swung the knife a couple of times through the air, this wasn’t a toy or a practice sword, this was a weapon designed to kill and take people’s lives. Namikaze knew that she would have the problem doing this, but she had to worry about that when the time came, for now, she had to practice her skills with a blade.
The chestnut haired girl turned and faced the target, a straw dummy that had two targets on it, one on it’s head and one over it’s heart. The teacher didn’t have time to come and train Namikaze personally, but gave Hikari advice of what she should do, a very simple combination, 2 feint jabs, a stab to the heart, a stab to the head, and then a cut across the stomach area. The former maid girl had done some training on her own with a stick that was designed to be a rapier, but this is the most formal thing she has done. On her own, she almost perfected her running Jab, and felt quite happy with it, but now, she had to learn how to do combination strikes. Hikari walked up to the dummy made of straw, up until she was 5 feet away from it. It was now her time to train for real. She squeezed her Kunai knife’s grip and started her combination, the first two strikes were faints, something she didn’t really practice much on her own. After that, she attempted to drive her blade right into the heart target on the dummy. She aimed for the center of the target, but the first two feints throw the light girl off her balance slightly and instead her blade dug into the corner of the target rather than the center. It went pretty deep, about three fourths of the bade was in the dummy. She tried to pull it out, but Hikari wasn’t the strongest person and it took a second to pull out. As she pulled out, she took a step back, a bit off balance, she probably should have waited a second before she let out another stab, but instead she pushed all of her weight forward toward the dummy to try to stab it, and completely wiffed it! Her blade went to the far right of the target, missing it completely. If that wasn’t bad enough, the sixteen year-old had put all of her unbalanced body into the blow, so she hadn’t just missed, but she was now spiraling out of control as if she was passing the dummy. What was probably the best thing to do was just brace for impact, but instead, the determined academy student tried to spin and slice the stomach of the dummy in an attempt to complete the technique. Her spin was fast and furious, the problem was she had done it too late and for the second time, the new ninja completely missed her target.

Namikaze crashed on the ground, her new metal blade skitted away from her a few feet as she rolled over a few times, landing on her back on the hard wooden floor. The young woman looked up to the ceiling of the training arena she was in, it was indoors which she wasn’t used to, around 10 in the morning, the room was almost like a gym with dummys, practice weapons, and sparring equipment scattered all around. It was strange to have such a nice facility, and have no one using it at such a normal time of day. Hikari took a deep breath and looked at the new outfit she was wearing, completely different from all the scraps ragged clothes she would frequently wear during her late night practices. The young girl was quite infuriated with herself, maybe it was the unfamiliar environment, but the sixteen year old felt that she should have had this!

Hikari stood up and took a deep breath, recomposing herself, as she walked over and picked up her blade, examining it, it didn’t get any scratches or ding’s on its finely crafted edge. Of course it didn’t, there was no way the wood or the straw would damage its fine blade. Swinging her blade in the air, she got back into position and tried again. Her blade soared through the air, as she performed 2 feints right on target, then preformed a jab at right to the dummy’s head! This time, the jab went just to the right of the center of the target, remarkably close to the bulls eye. Hikari smiled and pulled it and was about to go for another strike, but then stopped herself and face palmed. “Drat” The girl would say as she remembered her mistake. “Its two feints, a stab to The Body , a stab to the head and then a slash to the stomach! Dang it!”
The chestnut haired girl got into position and tried again. She performed the two feints ……. Or at least attempted to as the second of her strikes went a little bit to far and touched the straw dummy, not penetrating it, but making contact. Hikari would jab once towards the heart, and would hit in the middle of the bulls eye, and then would reposition and try to stab again. This time, the blade made contact with the head, but more of gazing blow instead of the stab in the face like she was aiming. She then stepped back and took a blade step trying to slash the stomach. She did make the cut to the stomach this time, straw falling out of it. She felt a little bit better about it this time.

Hikari decided that perhaps it was a good idea to try to do the practice in slow motion. Hikari slowly start to fake stab at the target, delivering to fake shots, followed by a stab to the stomach. Hikari would then slowly draw the blade out, stab the head target in the bull’s eye, and then would slash the stomach in slow motion.
Hikari would then start to pick up the speed, trying to continue to have perfect accuracy as she got faster and faster, up to the point that she was going at a normal speed. As she got to this point the chestnut haired girl felt she was pretty confident in herself, and had spent about two hours training at the gym. She felt pretty good for her training today.
