Sages of Different Paths

Kyousuke said he was ready after Den finished speaking. The Hogokage had wanted to meditate for a moment before they did this but the Sage would probably be fine. He would just have to manage his Nature Energy, make sure he only used Sage Mode when he had to.

"Alright, here we go!" As Den spoke he did three hand seals, and at the conclusion of his sentence a torrent of water short forth out of his mouth at 70 towards the Jounin. The torrent was roughly 2 meters in diameter. If the Jounin didn't move and the water slammed into him he would be pushed back 20 meters by the water as it started to flow away from Denkiteki, pushing him with a strength of 75.

Den had started with a simple attack. He'd briefly contemplated using Wood Release but he decided that instead he'd build up to that. For now he's start with attacks that weren't that threatening and he'd move up to the ones that would likely cause more stress on Kyousuke like World of Trees.

With Den’s saying of her we go Kyousuke would be ready to start, as the kage began making hand seals bat like wings would form on his back at maximum speed. As the snake formed of water moved forward Kyousuke would body flicker to the right to avoid the attack of the jutsu. He would move seven meters away before stopping and starting to flap his wings. The kage was well versed in ninjutsu, but the attack seemed enhanced by natural energy. Unless you knew about natural energy you wouldn’t know what to look for, but to Kyousuke he could see the chakra infused into the attack.


“I’m still good to go lord Den.” The jounin would say assuring the kage he was still maintaining control. A cannon would form onto the ninja’s palm and begin charging energy to be used at a later time. These protrusions gathered surrounding nature energy and turned it into a destructive blast, surely Denkiteki would know and formulate a plan against it. The longer he could absorb energy the more force the blast would have, if he had any chance to keep up with his kage he would need to surprise him. Right now though Kyousuke was keeping his distance and that was very much unlike him, as he mainly focused in taijutsu.

Den's chakra senses would detect a slight alteration in Kyousuke's chakra before the Jounin suddenly moved so quickly that Den could no longer track him. The Hogokage's eyes became serpentine as panic briefly gripped the Sage. His first assumption was that Kyousuke was rushing him, not because that seemed like something Jounin would do but because in the past Den had been defeated by powerful shinobi rushing towards him.

As Den's body was enhanced by Nature Energy that Kokou had just gathered he'd realize Kyousuke had already traveled multiple meters. If Kyousuke had decided to attack Den rather than dodge he'd had easily gotten to Den before the Hogokage had reacted. Den silently berated himself for not activating some sort of reaction time enhancing ability as soon as Kyouske's chakra had surged, he couldn't allow himself to leave openings like that.

As Kyousuke stopped Den continued with his attack. Den performed two hand seals at 220 speed, his chakra surging as he activated Swamp of the Underworld before Kyousuke spoke or created his cannon. He centered the technique on Kyousuke’s right foot. He limited the dimensions to 20 centimeters in radius and 15 centimeters deep. The purpose of this was to have the mud pull Kyousuke’s foot into it and hold it there. The swamp had a power of 125 and speed of 115.

While this happened Den redirected his water technique so that it’d continue towards Kyousuke at 70 speed. If Den succeeded in trapping Kyousuke’s foot Den would use Sanctuary to weaken the power of the water technique to 45 so that it wouldn’t cause too much harm to the Sage transformation user if the torrent of water did hit him. The trapped foot could possibly be damaged as the water would try and push the Jounin while the mud held his foot in place but Den didn’t believe any lasting injuries would be sustained.

Now that he'd activated Sage Mode again he'd be able to keep up with Kyousuke if he used another speed enhancing technique. Thankfully Den had underestimated how much nature energy he and Kokou could gather now that he'd learned that new Sage Art technique.

The nice thing about flying and wings was that swamps attached to the ground couldn’t trap you. Although, Kyousuke had little time to react to with the swiftness at which the kage had made seals he managed to flap and pick his feet off the ground and move towards Denkiteki. At the same time the kage maneuvered the snake towards the ninja.

Flapping his wings to elevate himself he attempted to dodge the technique once more, while making a cannon on his palm. Once, he was over the ninja he would make a protrusion on his elbow that looked like a long sword and would try to slash the kage. (only if he avoided the snake mouth jutsu.) Hopefully in close proximity like this it would become easier to stop the kage’s torrent of ninjutsu. If Kyousuke knew any ninjutsu he could have attempted to launch some back, but as it stood the most powerful ninjutsu he could achieve was rushing nature energy through his body.


“How do I learn that?” He would say pointing to the swamp if he were able to of course. If something made him move he would still ask the same question.

With Den not moving to avoid Kyousuke didn't want to hurt his kage, so he retracted the protrusion before landing on a safe space on the ground. He would end his transformation and bow. "I am so below your level you refused to move, I must do more training. Farewell lord kage." With that the ninja would walk off looking for a way out.

After Kyousuke left Den continued to contemplate the information he had gathered from Kyousuke from talking to him and while he had been within Sanctuary. His dimension had recorded data on the differences in how they absorbed Nature energy and how it was used to transform their bodies. Kyousuke's displays within Sanctuary had enlightened Den greatly, he'd never seen a pureblooded user of Sage Transformation in action. It had been near impossible for Den to know what mutations had been directly caused by the bloodline he'd transplanted and what had been the result of the bloodline mixing with his own unique dna. Now he knew many things, such as the reason his regeneration had been altered so drastically. The Sage Transformation Bloodline itself had regenerative abilities that seemed to combined with those gifted to him by the snake sages of the Ryuchi Caves. Until meeting Kyousuke he had never assumed a Sage Transfomration user possessed regeneration, and had thought the mutation to his own healing factor had been something entirely new.

The Sage walked into his lab and sat a a desk, his mind continuing to pour over information Sanctuary gave him on how Kyou's transformation.
