The egg and the tower (P, nk, io) Empty The egg and the tower (P, nk, io)

Thu Jan 30, 2014 10:28 pm
Haru stood at the top of the training towers, the wind causing his robes to flurry as he clutched a letter in his hand. Written by the coolest receptionist ever, it told Haru he was in charge of a new squad, as there was a lack of team leaders in Tengakure. He was supposed to meet his team soon, and he was honestly afraid. What if he wasn’t a good leader? What if he expected too much? What if the genin didn’t like him? He had already made preparations for dealing with the last problem, having gone out and purchased 4 dragon’s eggs from Den’s store. What kind of sensei that gave you an effing dragon was boring? None. So he had one of his problems taken care of. He kind of hoped someone would come up here and ask for a fight, he’d like to practice his teaching skills before he had to face the squad. For now, the best he could do was this dragon’s egg he had designated as his own from the clutch he had purchased. He wanted to help take care of all the eggs, help speed their hatching process, but he felt that was something for his students alone to do. The dragons were theirs to keep, after all. In the meantime, Haru would make sure his was more impressive then those of his students, seeing as he was the sensei.

And to be a better dragon, you need a better name. Haru struggled with brainstorming one.
”Eragon? No. I think I want it to start with an A… or maybe an R? Rudri? Kruzikrel? Nah. I’m terrible at this…” He would say to himself, indulging in a tiny bit of insanity by talking to himself. No harm there. He set the egg down from under his arm, sitting cross legged as he stared at the thing. ”Huevo? No, that’s just stupid.” He muttered. He was not naming his egg “Egg.” Hmm… If he couldn’t name it “Egg,” maybe he could name it “Ėglius…” Nah, too similar…

The egg and the tower (P, nk, io) Empty Re: The egg and the tower (P, nk, io)

Sayuri was on her way to the training towers. She was told that she had been placed in a possible squad. Sayuri didn't really react the way many others had. A lot of the genin celebrated, congratulating each other, but as usual, Sayuri just stood away from the group. They never really cast her out, but she never really made friends with anyone. She was never comfortable around those her own age. So she just ended up focusing mostly on her studies, not that that didn't have its perks.

So here she was, heading towards where her possible squad's master would meet her, in her usual outfit. Upon arriving, she could hear the faint voice of a man. As she would get closer, she'd see the man with a single egg of quite a large size. She'd overhear him coming up with names and Sayuri just crept up behind him and suggested a simple name. "How about Ryuu?" Sayuri would wait to hear the jounin's answer, her face having the same blank expression as it usually does.

The egg and the tower (P, nk, io) Empty Re: The egg and the tower (P, nk, io)

As Haru was lost in thought, he hardly noticed the girl at first, assuming she was a voice in his head or something.
”Nah, Ryuu is too simple sounding… it needs to be impressive, but easy to say…” He muttered to himself. It took a moment for him to register someone was talking. When he did, he jumped looking quickly over his shoulder. How had he been snuck up on? That was a rather amazing feat in itself, seeing as he had the byakugan… He would have to stop relying on his byakugan alone, and start working on detecting chakra wit his mind as well as his eyes.
”Holy hell, I didn’t see you there!” He would exclaim, glancing at the girl and giving a full view of his eyes, one of which was pitch black, the other white as snow. A yin and yang, by some interpretations.

”You shouldn’t sneak up on people like that, it’s a bad habit to develop.” He warned her, looking back to his egg. ”Now… I want to figure out the name, it’s really bugging me now. I’m Haru, by the way.” He would say. He was sort of obsessing over the name of the giant lizard that would come out of the egg, since his parents had chosen a generic name for him, and he constantly was confused with other people named Haru, like the janitor or receptionist at the Kage offices. Because of this, he wanted to make sure his pet did not endure this, and sought to create a perfect name. ”It needs to sound good when you say it next to my name. Haru and…. Blank.” He said, rubbing his forehead. ”Haru and Noctis?” He would say aloud. ”Does that one sound any good? He would ask. He actually really liked that particular name. It sounded impressive.

The egg and the tower (P, nk, io) Empty Re: The egg and the tower (P, nk, io)

Sayuri would look at Haru with a disappointed expression. He seemed like he was goofy which Sayuri does not consider as one's best quality. The wind suddenly changed the directions, making Sayuri's hair bundle up before flowing normally in the same direction as the air currents. She'd look up at the sun then back at Haru. He would speaking to her, but she was too distracted by nature. From here, she could hear the bustling from her village as well as the birds in the trees. She could hear the foliage scratch against each other and the sky was a beautiful shade of pink with not a single cloud in sight.

Sayuri would be ripped from her daydream back into reality when Haru asks a question which she believed was directed towards her. Sayuri looks around and realizes that she came alone and gave herself a mental palm to the face. She quickly answers him, not really knowing what his question was referring to. "Yes, sounds great!", she'd say half-heartedly. She realizes that her answer actually seemed very unconvincing so she rapdily changed the subject. "So, what're you doing up here?" Sayuri would curse under her breath, remembering that she was at the Training Towers, obviously his being here would be to do what its name implicates. To train.

…What WAS he doing up here? He originally came to train, but that didn’t work out, so it turned to meditation, and then from meditation to deciding on his dragon’s name. Now that Sayuri was here, maybe he could practice his teaching abilities and spar with her? Worth a shot.
”Well, I was up here to train, but that didn’t work out.” He began explaining, rubbing the back of his head. ”If you want, we can do a little sparring.” He would offer. If she agreed, he would scoop up the egg and walk away from the edge, knowing from personal experience crashing through walls into incredibly far falls was not fun. So, he would put a good amount of distance between them and the side railing, before setting the egg down, and holding out his hand, beckoning for her to approach him.
”Alright, so lemme see what you’ve got. Don’t worry about hurting me.” He would tell her, not taking up any sort of fighting stance. He liked fighting casually far more then he liked aggressive, life-or-death combat. Much less recompense for mistakes, and much less pressure to win. In most cases, at least.

The egg and the tower (P, nk, io) Empty Re: The egg and the tower (P, nk, io)

Sayuri would watch Haru. She would admire his physical qualities. He was handsome, that was certain, but something about him struck her as wise. She eyed him quizzically as he made his way away from the railings. She wondered why he had such an odd expression when doing so, but she just dismissed it, not wanting to pry. He seemed as distracted as her, coming to train, but ending up losing focus.

Sayuri would have a confused look as Haru would suggest a spar. She could sense that he was stronger in many ways than one. She would consider it, knowing without a doubt that he wouldn't harm her. Although, she wondered why he would want to fight a lowly genin, which is pretty much how she saw herself. "Sure, I suppose", Sayuri would say, getting into a battle stance, her fists in front of her face and her legs in a wide separation. Sayuri would quickly form the hand signs needed to perform her Clone Jutsu. The clone would appear above Haru, serving as distraction as Sayuri sprinted towards him, a punch aimed at his groin. No one said to fight fair...

The egg and the tower (P, nk, io) Empty Re: The egg and the tower (P, nk, io)

As the fight began, Haru would activate his byakugan. He wouldn’t be fooled by the clone for a second, but he let Sayuri move in for her strike, as he wanted to see just how strong she was. Only too late did he realize he had failed to anticipate her… strike placement. He hunched over, coughing hard.
”Not… cool…” He would mutter, before attempting to grabher by the leg, before hurling her over the rail.
”Holy crap… He would mutter. What did he just do? Talk about anger issues… He would dash over the railing, jumping out after Sayuri, trying to catch her before an untimely, incredibly hard landing occurred. With her current momentum, she wouldn’t make it to the next building, which would save her from the fall, and she wouldn’t survive the impact with the glass if she did.

As he caught up with her in the air, he would fix this by grabbing her midair, spinning, using ten finger drilling to launch ten bullets and break the glass of the windows, and throwing her through it. By the time she got there, the momentum would be lost. Now… How was HE gonna get out of this? Hmm… He remembered the last time he was falling like this, and the trick he used. He would aim a vacuum palm opposite of the building, which would blast him back, through the glass of the towers, a floor below Sayuri. Haru would crash through the glass, cutting his skin and creating bruises as he plowed through the carpet. When he finally stopped sliding, he was at the feet of a man in a janitor’s outfit. The name tag said “Haru.” He looked up at him for a sec, before thudding his head back against the floor, just laying there.
