Akira's Genin Exam

Today was the day, and what a day it was. Actually it was pretty much a normal day in Sunagakure, the sun was as always out and the village was bustling, sort of. But for the young Akira Zahard, today was special. For today was the day in which he would become a Genin. At least that was the plan anyway, he didn't think people would be that impressed if he managed to fail. Hopefully that wouldn't be the case however and Akira would pass it easily. He felt slightly nervous as he entered the Academy and went on over to the designated room. He peeked through the open door for a moment and then walked on in. He was half tempted to take a seat but decided he would be cool and leant against the wall awaiting his test to begin. He totally wouldn't fail.

An old, fragile man with a humble voice stood in front of the academy students. So these were to take the test, huh? Back in his day.. well, he couldn't remember back in his day since the poor ol' fellow has amnesia. He spoke, his voice almost cracking from the heat, "S-s-silence, please. A-Akino.. Akino Zahurd. Y-you're up." [Make an 800 word post consisting of you performing the 3 academy jutsu, if you do, you pass and become genin.]

The task at hand seemed rather simple. Perform three jutsu that he had been working on for the past several weeks. Easy right? Wrong. The pressure of the moment was getting to Akira, he could tell by the way his hands shook as he glanced over to the elderly examiner. A brief moment was spent thinking over how old the man actually was. It looked like the old man could keel over at any moment and Akira was seriously debating on if he should call for aid or not. But then his own desires took hold of him. Now was not the time for such thoughts. He needed to focus on the task that had been presented to him. After all, he mattered much more than some old man. He had his whole life ahead of him, and he didn't care what would happen to the man if he passed his exam. Heck he wouldn't even see this person again after this most likely. So it was time to take center stage. His shaking stopped and he eyed the examiner up and down slowly. The first jutsu on the agenda was the Henge jutsu. He quickly looked over the old man once, then once more, then once again for good measure.

His hands quickly went through the required hand seals that were needed to complete the Henge jutsu. With the final hand seal being complete Akira shut his eyes tightly and pictured the old man in his head. He felt no difference and opened his eyes reluctantly. He was about to admit failure when he caught sight of himself in the old man's eyes. It was as if the man was looking into a mirror. Akira had somehow managed to copy the man's appearance completely without any (major) errors. Akira then became aware of the fact that he had been holding his breath while this was happening. As he dispelled the jutsu he let out the breath in a sigh of relief. He saw from the reflection of the blue eye old man the mirror image seemingly melt away to reveal Akira in all his glory. And what a glorious sight to behold he was. He stopped himself before he got caught up in his stunning good looks however, he still had three more jutsu to perform.

Next he decided to move on to the Substitution Technique, or jutsu, or the Kawarimi no Jutsu if you want to sound fancy. Being only five hand seals long, Akira had no trouble remembering which ones were needed. The trouble came in remembering which order they went through. It was with some luck however that he had been practising the day before. Even so he still had difficulty remembering the sequence. It started with the ram handseal, that he was sure of. Next came boar, then ox. Three hand seals in and it all came back to him, the last two in the sequence rapidly came after and once more Akira's eyes closed as he began to concentrate. He had done a quick scan of the room just before closing his eyes and had decided on a suitable thing to replace himself with. One of the chairs within the room, quite convenient for it to be there. Akira felt no change for him, other than hearing the sound of a chair clattering to the floor as the two of them switched positions of course. He opened his eyes and grinned, over half way done. He walked back over to the middle of the room, placing the chair back in it's upright position and moving it off to the side of the room out of the way.

Now it came down to the final jutsu, the one that Akira had the most difficulty with up until this point, he had spent many a night trying to get this jutsu performed successfully and now would be the moment of truth. The tension in the air was so thick that it felt like it could be cut with a kunai..or something like that. It was very tense basically. This was it, time to get this jutsu done with. Akira's body tensed as his hands were moved to be level with his chest. Akira took in several deep breathes, letting them out of course, in an attempt to calm himself. The eyes of the other Students were still on him, and for the second time in this exam he felt the nerves getting to him. The seconds began to tick by as he prepared himself to perform the Clone Technique, or the Bunshin Jutsu, or whatever you wanted to call it. The seconds continued to go by before he sprung into action. The three seals required for the jutsu were done fluidly and quickly, after all it wasn't that hard to perform three of the simplest hand seals to exist. He didn't close his eyes this time, as he felt like he should try and at least look like he was confident before he did this jutsu. With the hand seals done he picture his own appearance in his mind, out of the corner of his eyes he saw mirror copies of himself begin to form. The identical clones were a mirror of both his looks and his own position, and from what Akira could see there were no errors in how they appeared. So he was..done? Yep, and with that said and done Akira removed himself from the center of the room and let the others take their turns.
