The Training of Promising Recruits (PRIVATE)

Navi leaned against a tree in the training field, letting the wind pass through his hair and clothes, wearing his standard Jounin attire like always. He liked being at the training field, the trees outlined the clearing and in the branches he would watch the squirrels and crows.

Navi was meeting the three students from yesterday here, and had already devised a test on how to train them. He would wait for the three of them to arrive, as he continued to watch the wind flow and cause the grassy field sway back and forth.

Vretyel was eager to train again, he felt as though he didn't finish his goal yesterday of beating the other two, but today he was determined to be the best.

He woke up early and headed over to same area he was in yesterday and found Navi by one of the trees, the same tree he was using to observe the three students before. He had lit a fire in Vretyel's eyes and he wanted to prove to Navi that he got the message. Once he got over to the tree he looked at Navi for a quick second, and then looked up at the sky, waiting for Kochou and Primrose, if they even decided to show up, Vretyel thought.

Primmy showed up, tired as usual. sha sat down on a rock nearby. Ugh, that Vretyel kid was there, he had won the spar the day before. She was still hurting from that. She knew she had to be there for this training though because it was important. Primrose does have a habit of holding back her strength, especially when it comes to kids. Believe it or not, Prim was actually a nice person, until she got irritated.

Kochou woke up happy that morning, though she was worried about Prim, she knew Prim had a boyfriend and he would probably take care of her. Kochou pulled her long red hair back, then slipped on her favorite yellow spaghetti strap top and her favorite blue jean shorts and her favorite white shoes and went out the door to the training field.
Smiling, Kochou walked by Prim and poked her in her sore ribcage. "Sorry Prim!" Kochou hugged her. Then walked away. "Thats for scaring me with your eyes yesterday." Kochou said as she walked away from Prim. Yes the rock was close by, but she wanted to stand by Navi in case Prim attacked her.

Navi continued leaning against the tree. He had a look of bored disinterest on his face. He pulled a book from his pocket and began reading it, then pulled out a knife. In a tiny puff of smoke, the knife turned into a small stick in his right hand.

Navi began reading, holding the book with his left hand and leaning against the tree.

"Today I will decide whether or not any of you are worth training. To do that, all you need to do is touch me."

Navi didn't look up as he said this, and stayed next to the three of them, his eyes scanning each page and he loosely gripped the short stick in his right hand.

Vretyel knew immediately what to do, all he had to do was touch Navi, A Jounin. But he knew this was going to be difficult, Navi was much stronger and more powerful than all three of us combined, but seeing Primrose and Kochou fight yesterday made Vretyel cringe at the idea of helping each other out. I wouldn't be doing justice to myself, Vretyel thought, they would just use me to get ahead so I will ask for their help if it is necessary.

When Navi was done talking Vretyel stopped looking at the clouds, grey and full of rain it looked like, and focused some of his chakra to his feet and began running towards navi still leaning on the tree, he was much faster then what he was just yesterday, over twice his normal speed.

Vretyel then prepared the proper hand signs for a Clone Jutsu as he was running, thinking that if he made illusions of himself he would be able to distract him so that the real Vretyel would touch him. In total Vretyel made two clones of himself, The real Vretyel was the one on the left. When he got close enough the other illusions dissipated and the real Vretyel aimed a right punch to Navi's left arm, hopefully ending this quickly.

"Hey Vretyel and Kochou, let's forget yesterday and work together, this might look easy but it isn't going to be, we got to work together to do this." Primmy said to them as she looked at Navi then back at them.

Kochou agreed with Prim. "Sure Prim, thats a good idea." Even she realized that the only way to get Navi would be to work together. Even though Navi was leaning against a tree, and looked relax even she knew he would be hard to touch. He was a higher rank of ninja than any of them. "Any bright ideas Prim?" Kochou asked actually willing to listen to Prim. Even she had an idea.

Navi smiled as Prim and Kochou talked about teamwork, while failing to support Vretyel and be a team. Vretyel rushed him immediately, right out of the gate using chakra and a clone jutsu to try and trick him. It was smart, but without any backup to provide a further distraction, it would prove useless.

With a quick glance upwards Navi could tell which one was Vretyel and which one was a clone. As Vretyel's clones were illusions, not real clones, they would not cast a shadow or flatten the grass they walk on like a solid clone would. As the real Vretyel aimed a right punch, Navi disappeared in a blur and appeared 50 meters behind Vretyel and the other two, this feat accomplished by raw speed. Vretyel had built up serious speed to try and hit him, and the momentum of his punch would carry him forward and cause his fist to slam into the tree Navi was previously leaning against. The powerful trunk would nearly break his fist on contact with such momentum in the punch. At best, his hand would hurt so much he wouldn't be able to use it efficiently for the rest of the day.

Navi continued reading his book without even a flicker of emotion, almost forgetting the three of them were there and only subconsciously wondering if anyone would complete the challenge.

Vretyel observed how his teammates, talking about teamwork, did nothing as he attacked. He was angry, but not mad, he figured from his observations from the day before that they would be ditzy, less than mediocre in fighting, and almost impossible to work with, but he realized that he would have to do it.


There was no way Vretyel would suppress the blow dealt to him, he was careless and should have gone from the side instead of a straight forward attack. He realized that his right hand would only be useful for Jutsu from now on. But Vretyel didn't flinch at the pain, but turned around and directed some speech to Primrose and Kochou

"Will you idiots stop talking about teamwork and act."

Vretyel ran with his chakra boost back to where Navi was at now, he was hoping that the other two would actually do something too. He ran towards Navi but when he got close he wouldn't stop and try to aim a punch but just try to hit Navi by running at him without stopping and just running into him. Just in case he had his hands in front of him, ready to block just in case Navi tried to use the stick in his right arm this time.
