[B Rank] Endangered Species (Done) Empty [B Rank] Endangered Species (Done)

Wed Jul 25, 2012 4:37 am
Hamlet would wake up early in the
morning rubbing his eyes
as the sun crept in through his window. He would cover his mouth letting out a
terribly loud yawn as if it emerged from the mouth of some sort of beast. He
would hop up out his bed fixing his sheets and blanket as he would slide on his
red black and white camo combat pants and pull out a book to read as he poured
himself a bowl of cereal. He would slowly eat the food with one hand as he
slowly skimmed the pages of his book with the other hand.

Hamlet would let out a belch that could only be described as
sounding like the roar of a other worldly creature. He would let out a loud
yawn as he tossed his bowl into the sink thinking to himself “I wonder if there
are any missions up for grabs in the village, I am painfully bored.” Hamlet
would
scratch his head as he pulled a
pair of socks onto his feet followed by his black combat boots. He would place
his feet on the floor taking a seat on his bed looking at his book shelf
speaking out loud to himself. “What book to take for my walk…Hmm decisions,
decisions , decisions. Ah I know what book to take on a nice day like this.” He
would reach into his book shelf grabbing a
book of poems smiling at his decision. He would begin skimming the pages of the
book sitting still in his position upon his bed. He would then look up and out
the window of his home thinking to himself “Now what was I going to do again
before I grabbed this fine, fine book of poems…hmm. Ah that’s right I was going
to make a visit to the mission board in the village to see if there is anything
exciting up for grabs. Well I suppose I should hop to it then.” And with that
Hamlet hopped out of his bed as he would make his way towards the door he would
feel the area around his neck feeling an emptiness snapping his finger he would
exclaim “I knew I was forgetting something!” He would walk back to his book
shelf reaching
into the book case pulling from it a blank book. As he opened it he would pull
from a gap cut into the pages a necklace that contained his parents ashes as he
would look at it, smile, and kiss the charm speaking to himself. “Let’s go mom
and dad.” He would place the necklace around his neck and walk out the door
making
his way into the village. As he continued to walk he would open his book of
poetry as he would begin to recite his favorite poem from the book. “Take this
kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now, Thus much let me avow- You are not wrong, who
deem. That my days have been a dream; Yet if hope has flown away In a night, or
in a day, In a vision, or in none, Is it therefore the less gone? All that we
see or seem Is but a dream within a dream. I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore, And I hold within my hand Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep Through my fingers to the deep, While I weep- while
I weep! O God! can I not grasp Them with a tighter clasp? O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave? Is all that we see or seem but a dream within a
dream?”

He would then close his book looking up at the
villagers walking around him giving him odd stares as he would slowly look down
at the ground knowing that they gave him odd glares because of what had
happened to his parents. As he continued
through the village he would let out a sigh and begin reciting a line his
father used to recite whenever he was upset. “Why am I fighting to live, if I'm
just living to fight? Why am I trying to see, when there isn’t anything in
sight?
Why am I trying to give, when no one gives me a try? Why am I dying to live, if
I'm just living to die?” He would smile a bit as it began to rain in the
village spreading his arms outwards he would look up towards the sky and began
to speak quietly to himself. “Why did you guys have to die on me…Things would
be so much easier if I had you here with me. I’m starting to become more and
more confused as the days go on, father I need your guidance.” He would close
his eyes as he would look towards the ground opening them and would begin
moving once more.

As the rain fell to the earth Hamlet would run his hand
through his hair shaking out some of the rain water. He would continue making
his way to the center of the village noticing that there were fewer villagers
out then before as he would silently speak to himself. “I wonder where everyone
ran off to. They must’ve gone to their respective homes because of the rain. I don’t
see what the problem is; we do live in the sand village after I for one am glad
to see rain when it comes. I know the mist village must have it made with them
living right off the ocean and such.” He would smile a bit as he finally hit
the center of town. He would calmly approach the mission board as he slowly
eyed it up and down looking for something nice to do as he would come across a
mission to release endangered animals from captors. “Well this one sounds quiet
eventful, must be some pretty special animals to make this thing B-ranked.
Either that or there might be a chance of resistance when I try to rescue the
animals. Either way I suppose I should take this it is paying two thousand ryo
after all.” He would smile slightly as he ripped the mission notice off of the
mission board. He would then return to his home and look to see if he was going
to need anything for the trip out into the desert. “Hmm water I’ll need for
sure and possibly something to put on my chest in the event that it gets cold
out there.” He would then fill a canteen with enough water to last him for a
few hours and would slip his black shirt over his head and onto his body. “Alright
I guess it is time to roll out.” He would say as he picked a book to read on
the way to his mission.

As Hamlet slowly walked out of the village into the desert
wasteland his mind would begin to wander as he began to read his book which was
full of morbid and depressing short stories. He would start to think about his
life and all that has happened to him and how it has shaped him into the person
he is today. He would put his book in one of his large pockets in his red,
white, and black camo combat pants as he came upon the place where the animals
were being held. He would start to talk
to himself before he went any further. “This is either going to go one of two
ways, either they’re going to release the animals the easy way or they’re going
to resist and make things more complicated then they need to be, I hope it’s
the first option for their sake.” Hamlet would then approach the building
kicking the door in to see two men lounging around with tons of animals locked
in cages as he would announce to the startled men. “I am here on orders from
the village hidden in the sand to tell you to release all animals in your possession.
This ordeal can go one of two was gentlemen, either you can release these
animals right now and let them return to their home out in the desert, or we
can do this the hard way which would mean I would have to get my hands dirty
and you both would lose all of your teeth. Now the choice is yours and pick
quickly because I have some reading to do when I get home and I hate being held
up from a good piece of literature.” The men would at each other momentarily
then would direct their attention to Hamlet whom was now in a fighting stance
of sorts ready for a move to be made. The men then turn back to the animals and
hit a mechanism on the wall releasing the cages containing the various beasts
and creatures. Hamlet would then walk out of the building as the animals soon
followed behind him making their way back to their homes.
