The day started off as an ordinary day, well ordinary enough for the raven-haired Kunoichi. She had showered, dressed herself in all-black attire, and headed towards the Thunderpeak campus. Meika had wanted to wander about in the library again, to lose herself in another novel that may be waiting to grasp someone’s attention. A day sitting by an open window, seeping up the warm rays of the coming sun like a cat, book in hand. That didn’t sound bad in the slightest.

But apparently, fate had other plans for her.

Was this some sort of punishment, something that wanted to deprive the needy Kunoichi from her time of relaxation that she so desired?

Meika wanted to curse at whatever bestowed this sort of misfortune upon her, but like a good little shinobi, she ended up keeping her lips sealed and abandoned her time of peace to fulfill her duties

But what was so dire that required the Kunoichi’s full attention?

Perhaps it was a large monster that was rampaging around her very home.

Meika hadn’t made it a few meters away from her doorstep before the sounds of shouts and curses were audible through the air. Her eyes witnessed as many people moved around, frantic as their faces expressed the very anxiety that thrilled through their being. Meika was quick to react as she took it upon herself to figure out what was going on. Her composure was the opposite of the ones running in confusion, as Meika kept herself in control of her own. Panicking was the first step of failure, no matter what the situation was. That was when mistakes are easily made, and lives may be taken.

Besides, it was so uncool to be flocking around like scared little chickens.

The first step to evaluate the situation was to find the very source of the panic. The crowd of people was the most dense. Meika quickly took off in search of where the distress was the highest. Which didn’t take long. After about a good eight minutes of following through the chaos, the Kunoichi came up to one of the butcher huts.

Meika sighed with relief as she realized it wasn’t the hut she visited almost on the daily for the most extravagant seafood. It would have been a shame if one of her favorite places was in tatters. But the catastrophe that had been bestowed upon the targeted hut was major. The building looked as if something massive had bulldozed right through the front entrance, creating a massive hole within the building that stretched about 8 feet high. Many civilians surrounded the hut, but stayed a good feet away from the wreckage itself, as a few shinobi already worked to survey the situation. The butcher who owned the hut stood as he conversated with one of the higher ranking officers, his face red with rage. It was safe to say that the owner was alright though, judging that he showed no signs of pain or injury.

Meika hurried her way through the wreckage scattered along the area, making her way towards the butcher and the officer he was talking to. The shinobi greeted her with a nod, prompting the butcher to pause and turn his attention to the raven-haired Kunoichi as well.

"Wow, this doesn't look good at all," Meika remarked, her curiosity piqued. "What in the world could have caused so much damage?" She glanced over at the other shinobi, eagerly awaiting an explanation that would shed some light on the chaotic scene before her.

"It was a beast, I tell you! Its head was huge, like nothing I've ever seen before!" the butcher exclaimed, his voice filled with excitement and a hint of fear. He gestured dramatically, trying to convey the sheer size of the creature he had encountered.

"A beast? In our village? That's quite a surprise," Meika responded, her eyes wide with wonder. The other officer chimed in, taking over the conversation and delving into the details of the mysterious creature that had caused such destruction.

“Unfortunately; there was an officer that was performing some unauthorized experiments beneath our noses. We were given some information about where the tests were being held, but it was already too late. One of the monstrosities ended up escaping its enclosure before we could properly deal with the situation.” The officer paused on his report, shaking his head in obvious disappointment. “It turns out that the creature zeroed its attention on one of the butcher’s huts. The only good outcome is that only the wares were harmed, and none of the civilians.”

The butcher snapped at the officer, unable to contain his unhappiness, “Good outcome? The amount of money I lost all because that THING devoured more than half of what I owned!”

The officer turned his attention back to the butcher, ready to do his best to correct the situation as much as he could. “The village will do what they can to replace what was lost, and the hut will quickly be repaired by our best men.” Once again the man’s eyes found the Kunoichi, “But what’s really important is finding out where the monstrosity has gone, and to capture it before anyone actually gets hurt.”

It was at this moment, that Meika was beginning to realize that this was starting to turn into an assignment. No biggie, going monster hunting would enlighten her. A big jump from reading books in a quiet library, but fortunately the Kunoichi was flexible. “Give me more of the details, try not to leave anything out. After that, I’ll go search for the beast as you deal with the rest.”  The officer gave her a hopeful nod, not questioning whether or not she would be able to handle the thing on her own, fully confident in her abilities.

The officer quickly filled Meika in on all the details of the large monster and where it had been spotted after rampaging through the butcher's hut. As they spoke, the butcher continued to sift through the rubble of his destroyed hut. The village was already rallying to support him and make up for his temporary loss of business - that's just how Kumogakure rolls, always looking out for their own. Kumogakure wasn’t the type to leave their people hanging.

After Meika had gathered up enough information for her monster hut, she quickly took off towards the direction it had apparently ran towards. In situations like this, there wasn’t time to mess around, and being the shinobi that she was, acting quickly was the only proper way to execute dire situations such as this. The more time she took, the more damage that was possible to follow. Meika felt a surge of responsibility as she embarked on the mission, her eyes searching for any signs of the beast as she headed towards the forest that surrounded the village Kumogakure.

Yes, the very forest that she had many encounters with, no surprise that the beast may be finding its way to the forsaken place. At least that meant the monstrosity would be heading away from the civilians. That was a positive plus.

The closer the Kunoichi approached the outskirts of the forest, the more she felt her excitement bubbling within. She couldn’t recall the last time that the lass had participated in something that may lead to lethal consequences. Such a realization only easily enhanced her adrenaline. Meika quickened her pace and moved onward, the outstretched branches that belonged to the forest coming into her peripheral. The smell of the ashened wilderness tickled her senses, and it wasn't long before she entered within the wilderness itself.

“It's monster hunting time~” Meika breathed out lowly, her eyes sharp as they scanned the forest ground. Looking for any signs that would give away the beast's movement. So far everything seemed to be clear, and quiet.

Perhaps it was too quiet.

The atmosphere felt as if the very trees and wind were holding its breath. The sound of birds was lacking, and there wasn't a single scurrying of any critter. The place was already deserted most of the time, but never this dead. The very intensity of the silence made Meika want to hold her very own breath to match with it.

She began to creep forth, keeping low as her feet found the safest, quietest route. A single snap of a twig would shatter through the dead silence that surrounded her  Which she anticipated would end up being a dangerous move.

As she crept about three meters within the forsaken forest, the silent world around her suddenly broke as a loud howl shattered the peace. Shaking the very ground with its monstrous wail, and awakening everything about. Meika couldn't help but wince as the cry penetrated her eardrums, it was almost deafening. Sending an unpleasant shiver to run down her spine.

No doubt most would already turn heel and run after witnessing such an awful sound, but Meika stood her ground. No actually she continued to move forward. Her face showcasing her dauntless behavior, but her silver eyes never failing to be aware of any and every movement that may shine light on where the monster was located. Casting through the trees and their eery outstretched arms, grasping at the empty air around their very being. The absence of leaves left them even more haunting.

What a perfect home more monsters and ghosts alike.

Meika took a deep, controlled breath, before daring to resume her approach, steeling herself for what lay ahead. Recalling the last time she had encountered some fascinating creatures. The stags that possessed beauty were almost incomprehensible.  She had marveled over their gorgeous, yet deadly crown of antlers, that glinted within the ashened forest.

It was unfortunate that she was about to face something much larger than those stags she had witnessed, and much more aggressive. Instead of ethereal antlers of ivory, Meika would be searching for a mowl full of jagged teeth of a hungry, fuzzy mutt. The thought only increased the anticipation within her.

But it didn't seem to matter how quiet she moved, when suddenly a tremor seemed to course through the ground as if it was hollow. Each violent tremor announced the approaching movement of the monstrosity in which the Kunoichi hunted for. It almost seemed as if the very trees parted way for its massive form to waltz through the forest, coming face to face with the woman that stood a good ten feet below it's full height.

Now as Meika gazed upon its full glory, she finally began to wonder how she planned to capture the thing alive. The wolf beast was more massive than a brown grizzly bear, and looked to be more fierce. At first, the thought of only one mere individual having to take down such a beast, somehow immobilizing it to where the monster could be properly captured, seemed almost too much. Her eyes sized up the monster's full body, from his bear like claws, to the angry snooter that glared down upon the little lass.

The fur that surrounded the wolf beasts face seemed to be matted with dried crimson, as if it had been feasting immensely on a bloody meal. Most likely evidence of its feast that occurred at the butcher’s hut. The one that had so happened to have fallen victim to this monster's destructive capabilities. As long as it wasn't anything to do with eating anyone, that is what mattered the most. And that it got taken care of like it needed to be.

Meika's mind quickly turned over any possible way to properly deal with her current situation. Running through every technique that was available for use, and any sort of trap that she could think of. To be honest there were a few different ways she could go about this capturement. The flexibility in her abilities gave the raven haired kunoichi some hope in succeeding in her mission.

Not that the big bad wolf that was lurking through the forsaken forest was a bit intimidating for the small lass that stood alone. With such large fangs that one chomp could easily break her form in half.

Like each foot step from its daunting paws was enough to swat her against a tree like a ragdoll. It was astonishing that the monster moved with such stealth, that if it wasn't for its massive visual already being within her sight, Meika would have wondered if she would have noticed the beast through sound alone. Besides, its howling was a dead give away in the beginning.

The colossal wolf beast towered over the lass, though she refused to feel as helpless as she might have seeme. Its eyes filled with a malevolent gleam that wanted to send shivers down her spine. As it locked eyes with her, the beast seemed to unleash a primal rage that seeped through its very being. Saliva dripped from its gaping maw, creating a grotesque puddle on the forest floor as a chilling reminder of the imminent danger she faced. In that moment, Meika took a deep breath, as she stood face to face with the embodiment of pure menace.

With a ferocious growl, the wolf beast crouched low, its eyes fixed on Meika with fierce intensity. In that heart-stopping moment, time seemed to stand still as the predator launched itself towards her. But Meika, fueled by a primal instinct and sheer determination, was ready and poised for action. With a surge of adrenaline, she made a split-second decision and leapt towards the towering trees that stood sentinel nearby.

The wind whipped through her hair as she hurled herself through the air, her heart pounding in her chest. With a deft grace, she landed on a sturdy branch, her breath hitching in her throat as she balanced on the edge of danger. The wolf beast, its eyes gleaming with hunger and malice, snarled below, unable to reach her lofty perch.

In that moment, Meika felt a surge of triumph coursing through her veins. The fight for survival had begun, and she would stop at nothing to protect herself from the imminent danger lurking below. With a steely gaze and nerves of steel, she braced herself for what lay ahead, knowing that her fate hung precariously in the balance.

Meika's heart pounded frantically in her chest as she faced the ferocious wolf, its eyes filled with hunger and rage. With no time to waste, she called upon all her strength and skill, her hands moving with a speed that blurred in the air.

Her very soul seemed to ignite with a burning passion as she weaved the intricate seals of her genjutsu, drawing forth a power that transcended mere technique. It was a raw manifestation of her will, a desperate plea to protect herself from the looming threat.

And then it happened. A brilliant burst of light erupted from her being, a dazzling display that pierced through the darkness like a beacon of hope. The wolf, caught off guard by the sudden flare, recoiled in fear and confusion, its savage instincts momentarily subdued by the overwhelming power of Meika's genjutsu.

As the wolf cowered in submission, Meika felt a burst of confidence, her eyes taking in the sight of her successful move.

The wolf's desperate attempt to rid itself of the suffocating grip of the Genjutsu was satisfyingly to witness. Its fierce determination to break free, to regain control of its own mind and body, was evident in the way it shook its head in anger. But alas, it was all in vain. The sinister hold of the Genjutsu was too powerful, too all-encompassing for the monster wolf to break free from.

As the wolf stood there, trapped in a nightmarish world of illusions and false realities, its senses dulled by the deafening ringing in its ears, Meika saw her chance. With a steely resolve in her eyes and determination etched on her face, she leaped from her perch on the tree and faced the monstrous beast that was now only a few short meters away.

Her hands flew through the intricate hand signs with lightning speed, no hesitation in her movements. She knew that time was of the essence.

The air crackled with tension, the atmosphere thick with anticipation as Meika channeled all her strength into the final blow. The fate of both the wolf and herself hung in the balance, the outcome uncertain. But one thing was clear - Meika's determination to end this battle quickly.

Meika's heart raced with adrenaline as she honed in on the jutsu that would serve as the final blow. With every ounce of determination in her being, she weaved the intricate handseals, summoning a powerful torrent of water that surged forth from the depths of her soul. The monster wolf, bewildered and enraged, was the target of her wrath.

Pouring all of her Chakra into the attack, Meika unleashed a fierce wave of water that crashed into the beast with unrelenting force. In that moment of uncertainty, she held her breath, unsure if her assault would be enough to vanquish the formidable foe.

But nonetheless everything went the way she had anticipated. The water struck the wolf with a resounding impact, propelling the creature into a nearby tree with a force that rendered it unconscious. The sight of the majestic beast crumpled on the forest floor filled Meika with a mix of triumph and relief. Her victory was hard-fought but undeniably sweet, a testament to her unwavering resolve and unyielding courage.

Now it was high time to find the officer from before and to announce her successful attempt to capture the beast. Time was still at essence so she quickly needed to report before the beast regained consciousness. And after her mission was to be announced as a completion, Meika would find it necessary to reward herself to a tasty snack. Maybe a plush red bean bun would suffice? Maybe two of them? She pondered those thoughts as she ventured out of the forest, quickly heading back to the village. Wasting no time after she was certain that it was safe to leave the unconscious beast.
