It was an idyllic scene, what with the lake and the little fishing village and everything. Heck, the whole place was tempting enough for Yazui to decide to stay a while. He was only on a simple errand; deliver some supplies from the warehouse a few towns over to the local fisherman. He had been given the package of supplies and the money up front, and while part of Yazui considered the possibility of just taking the pay and dissapearing, he knew some good will would take him a long way. And in hindsight, it would have caused him to miss out on this hidden gem.

In a dilapidated and ugly place like the Hot Springs country, this clear blue lake and peaceful fishing hamlet with its docks and piers was probably the last place of beauty. Aside from the magnificent hideout of Yugure of course, but that place was only privy to a few very select pairs of eyes.

It didn't take Yazui long to find the local fisherman. Heck, the place only had about fifteen houses and the fisherman's was the biggest. He'd walk in, shake hands with the old man and hand him his package. Then, he was forced to politely smile as the old coot unpacked it and began rambling about its contents; some super new fishing rod that could do this and whatnot. Yazui nodded, but didn't care. Fish were for cooking. The finer details of acquiring it as an ingredient were not interesting to him.

After delivering the goods, Yazui spent some ryo on some fresh trout -excellent when stuffed with lemon and garlic and put in the oven- and put the fish packed in paper in his bags before heading out of the store. Walking up to the center of the hamlet, in an impulse Yazui would jump onto one of the roofs and take in the view. The lake was a good 40 meters in front of him. The gabled roof he was on was eight by eight meters and 7 meters high. The fisherman's house, three stories or 10 meters high and fifteen meters wide, was 20 meters to his left. Twenty meters behind him was a small cluster of modest houses and hovels. Thirty meters to his right, more of the same. The ground below him was mostly grass, with a modest, thirty meter square of cobble that had both this house and the fisherman's house at its border, with branching pathes leading to the two clusters of houses. Here Yazui would stand and take in the scenery...

Steve's Stats:

A simple task for a simple day. Kill Yazui Tenka and go report the success. That’s all Steve needed to do, he had the guys description given by the very person who greatly wanted this Yazui person dead and had been trailing him for some time having made sure to use Chakra Suppression to pass as any other random Villager, though the guy tended to be holed up somewhere that Steve couldn’t ever get a find on. Luckily today the guy had left whatever hole he had been in and was in a small fishing village, maybe he was there to purchase food, to go fishing himself. Steve didn’t know and didn’t care he just knew this was the best time to execute his plan.

So he watched the boy go about his business not that it was to difficult in a small place like this, Steve wondered when he should strike but the target gave him his best chance by going up onto a roof making him a perfect target with Steve being 15m to the target’s back left side, especially since there was plenty of people milling around Steve had been wondering if he was going to have to worry about others getting in the way but this worked so well that he had to make his move which was as simple as activating a technique that enhanced his chakra and speed then he targeted a point that was 5m to the Front left of the target and caused a explosion of chakra to form that would decimate anything caught in its range.

With this the fight had begun and given his position it should be a good surprise attack.

Combat Details:

Always expect the unexpected. This was once again confirmed for Yazui when he noticed a source of chakra suddenly appearing to his left front, at the edge of what he could passively sense. His shinobi mentality kicked in as he immediately sprung into action and began formulating a tactic. Step one: get away from the chakra. Step two: find its source. Step three: form a counterattack.

His body shifting into gear, Yazui would turn around and bolt away from the attack. At a speed of 130 (+10 reflex speed for dodging) he would run across the roof of the building in the opposite direction of the attack. As he did this, he would take advantage of his vantage point by looking around for enemies. By the time he had crossed the four meters to the opposite corner of the roof, an explosion had formed at the source of the chakra and had started to shred the building. Luckily for Yazui, his speed allowed him to stay ahead of the blast. Scanning to what was now his right, he saw several people looking up in shock at the sudden display of violence. Several villagers... and one man with tan skin and brown hair wearing a teal shirt and blue pants. This man stood out to Yazui because he didn't look surprised, frightened or panicking like the villagers but instead was completely focused on Yazui. A type of icy calm Yazui recognized as the instincts of a killer. Identifying the man as his enemy, Yazui would begin forming hand seals as he leapts off the roof and onto the ground. Step two was completed, step one was still in progress but he had proven capable of outspeeding the jutsu. Now it was time for step three.

Forming seals, Yazui would keep moving away from the explosion while curving around this man, keeping a 25 meters distance in between the two at all times. He would finish his final seal while he was four meters from the building. If the man was still looking at Yazui, he would be placed under a genjutsu. He would feel a sudden burst of excruciating pain like he was burning alive. There were three reasons for using this technique, the first of which was the pain being a good diversion for Yazui to seize the flow of combat. The second was that the pain made it impossible to concentrate on maintaining jutsu. The guy had caught Yazui off-guard and there was no way for Yazui to know what other nasty tricks he had up his sleeve, but chances were this genjutsu could cancel out some of them.

The third reason was a simple "fuck you" for attacking him in the first place.

Next, Yazui would perform a second string of seals. After having moved 15 meters from his original location he had now arrived to the right back of where his enemy had originally been standing at 25 meters. Yazui would retrieve two shuriken from his pocket and throw them at the man, positioning one shuriken slightly after the other. Both were heading towards the man at a speed of 120. Using Subtle Weapon Manipulation, Yazui would wait until his enemy would dodge or guard. Reacting to this, the second shuriken would emerge from under the first at the last second and either twist and curve in the direction the man had dodged, or slip past whatever guard the man would put up.

His target moved how he wanted him too Steve moved in the same direction as his target was heading keeping him within the 20m they had been at. Smiling Steve formed the handseals, Rat - Ram - Snake - Tiger - Bird – Ox, as he watched his target outrun his surprise attack by the time Yazui he would pick the point 5m in the direction his target was jumping in this attack was similar to the last but impossible to see with the naked eye and would expand and increase the gravity of the area onto all things within range effectively pinning whoever caught in it to the ground or in the cause of his airborne target slamming them into the ground. Steve at the same time as he knew his target would be searching for him activated another technique that upon his target looking at him would make a field of flowers appear and cause his target to be unable to move and lose the will to fight. A deadly combo that Steve was quite happy with.

Combat Details:

As Yazui turned around to dodge the surprise attack, he saw from the corner of his eye a man starting to move to stay in his range. Reacting to this, Yazui would tap into his inner focus. The gaze from behind his sunglasses turned focused and steely as his speed and control over his chakra increased. Yazui would retrieve his kusarigama and spin around to face the man who was still 15 meters from him. With the kama in his right hand he would perform a wide slash beginning at his right front side and ending at his left side. Just as the man would begin weaving seals for his second attack a wave of raw force would extend outwards from Yazui in a crescent, following the slash’s trajectory. This wave was invisible to the naked eye and contained no chakra, the only telltale was the loud bark-like sound that burst through the quiet village. To his right the wave would extend and crash into the explosion previously formed whereas to the front it would crash diagonally down towards his opponent. Should it connect, the wave would crash into Steve’s body and crush him down into the ground. Still moving while all this would happen, Yazui would observe this man. His current plan was moving off the roof of the building by making it to the edge and scaling off the side of the building using the tree climbing technique before moving another five meters away from the building. Seeing as the man was already trying to form a second attack this seemed a safer option. Although his plan could change at any moment depending on what his enemy would do next.

Combat details

Hiding attacks within attacks was the key to winning fights. His target looked at him, thinking he could stop his visible handsigns but that was the trap he had used a technique that didn’t need handsigns and all it needed was the target to look at him. Yazui was now stunned into inaction looking at the the flowers that had bloomed his will to fight gone before he could even think to swing a weapon. With that Steve’s handsigns finished as intended and his singularity went off since he was using both at the same time. The gravitational pressure of singularity pinned the target to where they were standing on that roof dealing damage to the target slowly but surely. Steve simply waited either for the target to break the gen they were under now or try and get out of the high gravity field that pinned them to the spot they were in.

[Claiming hit of Flower Garden, which needs no handsigns and Yazui has looked at Steve triggering it, thus paralyzing Yazui before he can swing his weapon or grab it. This would allow the handsigns of Singularity to finish as they were being done at the same time that Flower Garden was being activated and it would spawn 5m in front of Yazui as stated in last post. Yazui doesn’t have the strength to resist being pinned to the where they stand.

Combat Details:

As the paralysis set in, Yazui recognized the jutsu due to the flowers spawning everywhere. Even in this situation Yazui was able to recognize the jutsu as one of his own: the genjutsu paralysis technique. Yet this man had been able to cast it without hand seals. This made Yazui realize he was outmatched. Feeling his body become damaged by the jutsu, he thought with the damage he had sustained he should try to run. Breaking through the genjutsu immediately using no hand seals, the first thing Yazui would do was... nothing as he couldn't move due to singularity. Instead he would bid his time and wait for a chance to move again.

A stuck prey was an easy prey. Steve looked at his pinned target who was trapped in the field of the singularity, it seemed they had broken his genjutsu but that was fine as it would cause them to suffer a condition that slowed them. "I don't normally speak to my targets but for someone who upset someone enough for them to put out a hit on them, You aren't really what I was expecting." He mentioned. Typically those who got a hit put out on them they were typically to strong to be dealt with by the typical person or authorities especially with it going through the black market, but this Yazui didn't seem to be quite at that level of needing an assassin to dispatch them. Felt a bit overkill, but that's the way of this life.

Yazui cancelled his finishing mind as it would do him no good right now and sustaining it longer meant it would take longer for him to cast it again when he truly needed it. Hearing the man's words, with a wry smile he responded. "Well, I used to be a lot better at this.", he said, referring back to his days in the war. Which could possibly be when he pissed someone off badly enough to warrant this situation. "Tell you what. You let me go now and next time we meet, I'll give you a fight more worth your time. Don't you guys have some assassins code of honor or something?"

"An assassin's Code of honor?" Steve would laugh at this, "Oh that's good, I'm sure there are some people out there that think they are just agent of darkness and all that junk." Steve begun to do the handseals Ram, Rat, Tiger, Snake, Bird and chose a spot 5m in front of Yazui this would bring into existence a 30cm black hole that would begin to pull anything caught in its range towards it. This would take place as his technique that was currently pinning Yazui in place would fade away, With this Steve would also activate the technique he had used when this fight had started and pick a spot that was 5m to Yazui's left. With the house that Yazui had jumped off 5m from his back and Steve 15m from his right. There wasn't many places he could go, and with his weakened self Steve was confident that yazui wasn't going to escape either technique but he remained alert for any possibilities, "But I am just here to do my job."
