Training Day Empty Training Day

Fri Jul 14, 2023 10:51 am
Raikur yawned as he got out of bed in the morning, it was an early wake up today, something he had never truly been a fan of before. Today was no different, he grumbled to himself as he arose and walked to his wardrobe. Looking through his collection of clothes, Raikur chuckled to himself as he knew damn well that he was going to wear his usual attire. He equipped himself with his trademark black on black top and pants, each with shades of a deep purple running through them. He combined these with his favourite pair of black boots, completing his outfit for the day. Looking into his full body mirror, Raikur nodded in approval before turning and making his way out his front door.

Leaving his humble cottage on the outskirts of the Shokku clan district, he made his way towards the Otogakure Advanced Training Facility. He was thankful of his attire today, the weather in Oto had been quite chilling, to the point that he often preferred to just stay home and meditate in silence. Raikur was not really a fan of the cold, so he was not in his favourite element at the moment. Sighing to himself, he even saw his own breath spreading out before him, this was never a good sign to the young Shokku.

As he continued to walk to the facility, Raikur thought about his recent frustrations. The Oto Genin was yet to unlock his clan's fabled ocular Jutsu, the Muragan, and he was beginning to get fed up with the wait. He held no love for his clan, mostly in part due to his abusive father, but he eagerly wanted to acquire the Muragan's power. He had been taught about it growing up, mostly because his father activated his own and continually punched Raikur in the face while doing so. The scars across the young Shokku's body began to itch as he remembered his past. Shaking his head, Raikur pushed forward.

It did not take him long to reach the entrance for the advanced training facility on the other end of the village. The guard looked him up and down before acknowledging Raikur and letting him pass, he did not give the guard a second glance as he passed. Making a beeline towards the indoor portion of the facility, Raikur entered quickly and moved to the centre of the large room. The facility was extremely spacious, exactly what Shinobi would need to maximise their training potential in here.

He was to meet with Quinn Foster, a recently promoted Genin of Otogakure. Raikur did not know much about Quinn, in fact he knew nothing at all about his soon to be training partner, but he looked forward to the opportunity to build his own skills. Standing in the centre of the facility, Raikur turned and crossed his arms, patiently waiting for his dance partner to join him.

Training Day Empty Re: Training Day

Fri Jul 14, 2023 4:26 pm
Quinn's mornings following the Recital they participated in had various degrees of adjustments. The forge found new business rapidly from the following day after Quinn's stark performance with the dented anvil from the recital being hung underneath the sign, now fully made and not just painted on wood standing proud, 'Fosters' Forge'. Yawning loudly from the depths of the business, people had taken to slipping orders underneath to get the heads up on getting them fulfilled sooner and sorting price post its production rather than waiting on the business opening. As a new genin of Otogakure, the Forgemaster found the demands and adjustments to be annoying but was happy to see the business really taking off at this point. Offering deals and adjustments from the simplest of requests to the most complicated of asks. Even the most wordy of individuals found solace in the fact that Quinn was able to get their ideas straight.

Today was not their standard proceeding and day. Dressing a bit nicer without their leather apron, Quinn was still adjusting to include their headband which they opted to tie on their upper arm due to their proclivity to sweat and rub their forehead. Having something there on a day-to-day basis would annoy the living hell out of Quinn. With everything set up, they looked over some design papers they had left on their personal desk in their study. 'Soon." They stated plainly before grabbing a small coat on the off chance they ended up wandering somewhere else after heading towards the training facilities of the village. This was only their second time going but the path from the forge to the advanced section that Quinn was allowed early access to the facilities was not a laborious one. Soon enough they approached the entrance giving a wave to the individuals standing at the entrance and the desk.

Looking around, the well-built tall smith scanned the area before making a face as they realized the note with the description of the individual they were meeting was left back at home. Letting out a sigh, Quinn would begin to just focus on what they could remember of what was asked of them for this situation. Giving a really dead-pan look they minimally remember the individual's name, "Raikur!" Their voice would echo a little bit to see if any individual turned explicitly when they called out. Should Raikur indicate they were present, Quinn would approach the young genin and look a little up to meet his eyes as he stood a good 12 cm taller then them. Putting their index knuckle to their lips in a thinking posture, Quinn would inspect the body physique of the teenager. They would walk around and assess before giving a light shrug and speaking more openly. "Quinn Foster. Forgemaster. Business Owner. Genin of Otogakure. Though. You're aware." They added giving a small shrug at that.

"Not many request to train. Zidane and Satoshi. Cringed when training last." They commented pointing towards a batting cage in the corner of one of the spaces visible to the two. "Destroyed balls. Seemed to shudder." They added in before walking about 10 paces away and folding their jacket onto the ground neatly before returning to Raikur. "Starting? Stretches yes?" Quinn would ask offering little guidance towards the specific action that Raikur had requested their presence for. Quinn was too in their own space and mind to think about others on occasion as business was to the brain. If given a different prompt or a more directed cause for their training, Quinn would respond otherwise by doing very long stretches and taking very deep breaths. "Always learning. Relearned how to breathe. Good start. If nothing else." They added going through the motions of some of their own practices.

Should Raikur follow through with the actions Quinn took, they would find some difficulty to match the depth that they were achieving with how long they were holding their breath as well. It wasn't often that the Forgemaster focused this intently on breathing as it did strain their body a bit to perform such actions but it was a great opportunity for the other genin to pick up some simple extended breathing as the Forgemaster demonstrated a higher level of focus as even with Raikur being taller than Quinn, the way the blacksmith stretched outward and forward with fluidity encompassed a large volume of space as if they filled their whole body with to the brim as they breathed. Eventually, they would check in on Raikur to see how they were doing with the exercise.

Training Day Empty Re: Training Day

Fri Jul 14, 2023 5:50 pm
Mubu was waking up late, as usual, not following any schedule whatsoever. As he yawned while stretching, he bumped the bottle of sake still half empty that he forgot on the side of his bed.

*crack*

''Ah damn... like i have the time to clean up glass!'' said Mubu out loud, still hangover from his night escapade the night before. As the weather got more chilly, the blinds were closed into his old familly home.

''Mubu my son what was that noise ? did you break something?'' said his mom from downstairs, her voice muffled by the floor and walls separating them.

''M'mmaaaa dont mind my noises alright ? im a grown up now, thanks.'' said Mubu loudly, as to be heard.

he swiftly cleaned the glass and threw it in the trash, cleaning the floor too with desperation and boredness, shighing loudly as to express pain to himself for doing such a chore. The day didnt start well, training and doing something fun would surelly be better. Join usefull to entertaining.

The weather outside was chilly but good nonetheless. Mubu was fine with only his half coat, and his usual attire. He was in dire need of training if he wanted to do more. Since his puppet was lost and destroyed beyond repair, and since his return to Otogakure from his trip with a travelling theater troupe, he was dead set on being and becoming a ninja of renown and mastering his craft as a puppeteer, not only as an entertainer.

What he wanted was to become powerfull. Mighty even. To be able to not only better survive, but also entertain himself with always rising challenges and adventures.

As he walked to the advanced training facility, he encountered a few people walking, but minded his business. After 2 hours of walking, he finnaly got there, a bit tired of the boredom of the trip this time, as Oto was usually more lively. He entered and passed the guards, and saw a younger genin standing in the middle of the gymnasium, with an older girl training together. As Mubu wanted to train too, he approached the duo with a relaxed attitude, his hands still in his pockets and his stance looking almost half drunk, not that stable on his feet and with his head a bit tilted to the side.

''Oy you! what are you doing ? isnt it supposed to be training here? doin' yoga or staring at the ceiling or something ?'' Said sarcastically with a mockery voice Mubu, laughing a bit to himself. His voice was verry deep, suave and slow, still, even if he was not talking seriously. He looked at the ground and shrug, getting his hands out of his pocket to add gesture to his expressiveness.

''Well maybe we could train together ? why not ? after all we're all Oto shinobi aren't we ? ahahaha'' said calmly and in a lazy tone Mubu, laughing a bit weirdly.

''How about we do fists first huh ? dont worry, i wont ruffle that little face of yours kiddo'' ushered Mubu staring at Raikur as he was doing kung-fu poses as to signal his readiness to train.

''or should we continue the deep breathing and train to dive into the river?'' laughed away Mubu in a sarcastic way again, this time looking at Quinn.

Training Day Empty Re: Training Day

Fri Jul 14, 2023 6:44 pm
Raikur raised an eyebrow when his name was called by the red haired newcomer. Taking his time to respond, Raikur finally spoke up with his cold yet calming voice, "Indeed, I am Raikur." As they walked up towards him, he assumed to himself that this must be the Quinn he was expecting. However, whatever he was expecting this Quinn to look or sound like, this was most certainly not what he envisioned. The moment they opened their mouth to speak, Raikur tilted his head slightly. At first he assumed there was a form of arrogance to the way they spoke, however, it did not take long for Raikur to judge that they were simply a very direct person.

"Yes I am aware that you are Quinn Foster. Although I must admit, I do not know much about you. It seems that you are quite adept with weaponry though, and that is more than good enough for me." He kept his words short, Raikur was not usually one for idle chit chat, especially with those he had never met before.

Raikur's gaze followed Quinn's fingers towards the cages, although he decided not to admit that he had no idea what his new acquaintance was talking about. This Quinn was indeed an odd individual. Raikur was not the type to associate with others due to his own basic common principles, Quinn would be the type of person he would be even less likely to associate with though. Regardless, they were here and he just wanted to get some training done, so he decided to endure this and continue.

The tall Shokku man raised an eyebrow once more when Quinn began to talk about stretching, this was definitely not what he had in mind when it came to training. Although in his experiences, training had usually meant getting the tar beaten out of him by his extremely loving father, so maybe stretches were not the worst of ideas. Deciding to play along with the performance, Raikur began imitating the same stretches as Quinn, or at least as much as he could. This Quinn individual was extremely flexible, if nothing else, and Raikur found himself struggling to get the same range of motion as they did. This did not bother him too much though, as flexibility was only so important to him.

He was quite confused at first when they mentioned breathing, he knew how to breath so how would this help exactly? But after a few moments, an idea came to him. He had heard about a very useful technique related to breathing, something that he had been interested in learning for himself. "Just now, you mentioned breathing yes? Do you happen to have the ability to control your breathing to the extent of maximising your abilities? If so, I would very much like to learn how to do this." Raikur had no idea whether Quinn would even know what he was speaking about, but he thought it would be worth a shot.

Mere moments after he said this, a figure approached from behind where Quinn was standing. Raikur had never seen this man before, but he knew he disliked him the moment he opened his mouth. Although the stretches made no sense to Raikur, he saw no point in talking smack as this man was doing, he clearly just wanted the attention, or to start a fight. Although he kept an eye on the newcomer, he decided instead to ignore him, feeling that he would be better off focusing on actual training, as opposed to a fist fight with a random man, a man who appeared to be a little bit drunk.

''Ahhhh ! but I now see what kind of breathin' you're practicing! interesting.'' said Mubu, droping his stance.

''And you, if I heard correctly, are ma'am Quinn arent you? pretty old for a freshly grad student i'll tell you that'' laughed the young cocky ninja.

''I'dd recon I could learn a thing or two from you as well... with all that... experience!'' laughed Mubu, looking at Quinn from top to bottom, denoting in a sarcastic maner how old compared to them she was.

His stance was now well more made. He didnt look drunk anymore, as if the behavior vanished by magic. In fact, he was only acting lazy and slack, but suddently got upstraight as he got the more serious looks and notes of the conversation and training. He acted as if he just arrived, but he was lurking in the shadow for quite a while, observing their training and listening to the sounds of their voice. He saw the stretches, and the breathing techniques known to help taijutsu and bukijutsu users, and even tho he acted in a way totaly ignorant of those techniques, it was only a mascarade. He was a genius inside of him, but a jerk too. Even if he knew those, he still wanted to test the others shinobi of the sound village, and get to know as much as possible while revealing as little as possible on himself. Faking ignorance was one of his favorite thing to do, asside from being sarcastic and playing dumb.

As he scanned his opponents, or should he say, his fellow training partners, he noticed how strong and well built Quinn seemed to be. Obviously, he wanted to know just how strong she was, so before going to them, he planed to taunt her into showing her strength.

The young one was more enigmatic. With his all black attire and purple shine, he had yet to show any signs of significance or speciality. Those were the favorites of Mubu, as true mystery contained most often than not the suprise of might and power, in a way not visible directly neither to opponents nor allies.

The good way to test both of thoses individual capabilities is to get them mad.

''works every time'' said to himself Mubu as he approached them.

Quinn would simply stare forward still stretching and breathing steadily. This was also training and exercise for themselves against a lot of this. Quinn definitely made a name for themselves post their academy graduation. Being one of the oldest Genins now in the village deposited quite a hefty title on them. As the two both bickered and acted their age in Quinn’s eyes, they both seemed to realize a bit more of what Quinn was already capable of and had to offer. “Train y’all?” Sure.” Giving a wide grin, the Forgemaster’s stance would adjust to a very firm one, matching the unmovable energy and concept of a mountain. Their eyes locked with Raikur as they were the one who asked about their breathing. “Still focusing. Learning a style.”

They began to suck in the surrounding air while maintaining their stance (+60/60 to Spd/Str) although they didn’t move from their position, their lungs seemed to fill deeply and their body responded accordingly. Looking at Mubu in particular, they motioned for them to give a strike of some kind towards them. Given a standard fighting motion, Quinn’s response would be a limber drop with a sweep towards(110 speed) their legs to knock them down. If Mubu did anything unorthodox, the Forgemaster would simply do some of their, as Mubu described, ‘yoga’ poses to maneuver out of harm's way. Taking on a reactive posture and stance Quinn used this chance to focus on their own mind while breathing.

For Raikur should he pay attention would notice there was some strain that Quinn was undertaking to ink out a bit more power from the technique, likely affirming his awareness that Quinn the recent Academy Student, was indeed well ahead of the curve. All their motions were meant to show how the stretches we incorporated allowed for deeper breathing. They didn’t exactly live in the most oxygen-rich environment as living on a floating island had its own perks to learning how to make the most of their own breaths. Even though Quinn was a redhead, their cool demeanor remained, likely something that would aggravate the rather wild child that Mubu presented to be.

From there knowing that there would be the need for an exercise of sorts, Quinn would form the Ram seal before launching towards (120 total speed with body flicker) a weapon rack picking up a baseball bat that was near the entrance to where the batting cages were located. They rested it on their shoulder calling out towards the two, as they were not officially sparring as of yet, Quinn figured it was time to discuss. “Body Flicker. Good solid motion. Locks you in that direction. Set speed. Set distance. Careful in use. Try not hitting walls.” They added in before beginning to rotate their wrist in their hand, the bat spinning around their hand, as a fine line of chakra began to infuse onto the bat before Quinn was getting closer to the two.

“Chakra Infusion. Simple. Effective. Base core concept. Some techniques need it. Others don’t. Learn as needed.” This commentary was more towards Raikur over Mubu. Their attention presuming the teen tried to rile them up would shrug at their behavior. “Sad isn’t it? A fresh Genin. Better than you.” The tone was flat, no sense of mockery or overbearing confidence. They stated such words as if it was simply a matter of fact. Quinn knew they had their own weaknesses compared to the two genin as Quinn’s knack for traditional techniques was considerably weaker. Their chakra reserves were refined but not deep, as they could tell and sense with their own chakra sensory trick Satoshi taught them and Zidane. Both Mubu and Raikur's wellspring to produce techniques outclassed the Forgemaster, as simply their strength ran paralleled as a single swing that they could produce could break a bone if not careful.

“Quinn Foster. Forgemaster. Business owner. Age 29. Destroyer of Balls.” They vocalized, including this re-introduction to Mubu, as their stance shifted once more as they began to tap the bat in their other hand maintaining that initial posture from earlier when Quinn took in that deeper breath. Throughout the entire motion, movement, and adjustment they made their lungs were steady and breathing consistently. Though Quinn was aware of their own shortcomings, being able to step up and help others was definitely something they started to enjoy. Working with Satoshi and Zidane previously in the Advanced Training Facility, the Forgemaster was pleased to find others also willing to learn and improve their own methods. It was in Quinn's favor today that the two were not equally equipped to handle what Quinn was capable of at this time. They were all too aware that looks were always deceiving in the shinobi world and it was quite easily possible for the two to surpass themselves in a multitude of ways.

Training Day Empty Re: Training Day

Sun Jul 16, 2023 12:36 pm
It appeared that this newcomer, who had not yet introduced himself properly, was here to stay. Raikur decided to continue in not acknowledging his presence yet, his sole intention was to learn from Quinn and to become stronger. He had spent much of his early life dealing with aggressive and overly forward individuals, so he was very well equipped for the newcomer. He was not, however, used to people like Quinn. Their bluntness and apparently emotionless demeanour was quite alien to him, but he did not necessarily mind. Since he was only here to train, he needed blunt.

Raikur noticed Quinn beginning to suck in the air around them, most may have missed it if they were not paying attention, but this put Raikur further on his guard. He still did not know much, if anything at all, about Quinn, so he assumed that it was possible the newly promoted Genin might try something very sudden. He was also surprised to see them motion for the newcomer to attack, it seemed they were extremely confident in their abilities.

Raikur then noticed that Quinn seemed rather different, almost like they were using some extra effort, to the point of straining or something of that likeness. It was as if the unusual Genin was trying to compensate by becoming even stronger, it looked to Raikur like this would not be a painless training session. While continuing his stretches, Raikur began to imitate Quinn's style of breathing, knowing that this would easily be the best way forward in learning the technique they just used. Although at first he was simply just breathing in and out, not actually performing the technique, after a few more attempts, Raikur found himself getting the hang of it. Pushing even harder, he almost shocked himself at what he felt next.

Inhaling more than previously, Raikur felt a massive rush of power flow through him, both mentally and physically, he felt more responsive and capable of performing more than usual. However, not satisfied with this, he pushed even further, feeling his body strain, likely just as Quinn's currently was, to the point of growing even stronger (+60/60 to Speed and Vigor). Raikur felt incredible, his body felt more alive than it ever had before, was the simple act of breathing so efficient that he could gain this much power alone? He winced a little at the additional strain it was putting on his body, but he did not allow this to place a damper on his mood. Clenching his fists slowly, he further allowed his body to embrace this warm feeling, ensuring that he could remember it from now on.

As Quinn was trying to remain cool and emotionless, Raikur also kept his straight face. He had learnt over many years to hide his emotions, albeit not necessarily by choice, but it had worked all the same. He would simply stare at Quinn blankly, watching their next actions take place. He raised an eyebrow at first when Quinn prepared another technique, however, he was curious when they simply dashed to procure a weapon. What impressed Raikur the most was the speed at which Quinn had managed this, how had they done this? His question was answered by Quinn before he even got it out, this body flicker sounded very useful indeed, he would also need to learn this one. Continuing his breathing from before, Raikur began to also focus on his chakra flow.

After several moments, he felt ready. Moving to the side so that Quinn and the newcomer would not be in his way, he activated also the seal of the ram, casting the Body Flicker technique and dashing to the exercise rack at an incredible speed (145 speed). He impressed himself as he realised that he had actually performed this technique faster than Quinn had, but he kept those thoughts to himself. Arrogance would not help him here, if anything, it would end up with him being painfully humbled, VERY painfully. Quickly looking through the weapon rack, Raikur decided to grab what appeared to be a blunt edged tanto. This would not be a useful weapon in the real world, but Raikur knew it would be perfect for training with his fellow Oto Shinobi. He moved back to his position in front of Quinn, continuing to listen as they spoke.

Up next appeared to be some form of technique to further power up, however, this time it appeared to be the bat in Quinn's hand that was being powered up. Raikur watched as the bat began to be infused with some of Quinn's chakra, raising an eyebrow as he listened to them speak. Chakra infusion? Sounded very useful indeed. The Shokku clan were experts at using weapons thanks to their proficiency in Bukijutsu, Raikur was no different so this was a valuable skill for him to have. Once more, he began to imitate Quinn's movements, focusing his chakra again. However this time he began focusing his chakra into the tanto he was holding, it took a few moments, but he could finally feel his chakra entering the weapon, increasing its proficiency and power.

Raikur ignored Quinn's verbal jabs, although he assumed they were not necessarily directed at himself, he was only focusing on himself and what he was learning. Recent Academy Student or not, this odd individual had already taught Raikur some incredibly valuable abilities. He could tell that this Quinn was quite strong physically, far stronger than Raikur was. The young Shokku hoped that this would mean he would be able to out pace them, supplementing his own lack of physical strength. It appeared that Quinn was potentially preparing for some combat now, putting Raikur on guard as he continued to pay attention.

Breaker of Balls huh? It looks like I will have to keep the young boys safe against this person. I can not allow my clan's line to end with me, they had me enough as it is already... Raikur suppressed a small chuckle as he thought this, he could not stand most of the Shokku, but he definitely had no intention of letting his balls join Quinn's previous victims. Raikur ensured that he continued to focus on both his breathing and chakra control, maintaining his power increase and infusion into the tanto. He also made sure to keep the newcomer in his field of vision, he was yet to know how this person would act yet.

"I must admit, these are some valuable skills, Quinn Foster. What comes next?" He spoke coolly as he tighten his grip on the blunt tanto in his right hand, he wondered if Quinn was impressed with how quickly he had gotten a handle on their skills. Or if perhaps, there would be other emotions at play here, assuming the red headed individual even had emotions. Maintaining his position and composure, Raikur waited for what was to come next.

Training Day Empty Re: Training Day

Mubu replied rapidly to the comment of Quinn:

''Sad ? I dont think so! quite logical in fact, since your way older, for you to have more... experience should I say ?'' mumbled while laughing the colorfull young ninja.

In his mind, Quinn was clearly stronger than him, but what he tought was unusual is the fact that, despite their age and strength, she just finished the academy recently and was only a fresh genin. It didnt had up. He wanted to know what this person had done prior in their life to have that much skill at such a low rank and to be, in term of usual shinobi age and experience, kind of ''late'' in their ranks.

Even tho Mubu was treated like an outsider and seemingly invited himself to the training session, he listened nonetheless, and took great attentiveness to what Quinn explained regarding the body flicker technique. It was a basic but advanced technique used by multiples ninjas, and it was quite useful. He tried to understand the way a user needed to concentrate their chakra on their moving muscles to cause body flicker, and how to keep their senses aware and focused to not hit anything while traveling and moving this way.

He also looked and try to understand their breathing techniques, even tho he wasnt himself interested in learning them. He was more interested in the chakra mastery over oneself and the mastery of their bodies in doing so. To have that much control over your bodily functions, one would need a lot of chakra control, but mainly, a lot of concentration and mental focus. One control over his mind was what intersted Mubu, who was naturaly versed in the ninja art of Genjutsu, or the manipulation of one's mind. To master such a craft, Mubu would need to first and foremost, learn to unleash his own mind from said controls, and to do wo would require a lot of practive. Quinn seemed well rounded in techniques and basics stuff, as they was already putting on the mantle of would-be teacher, even tho she just graduated as a student. Of course, Quinn was clearly a better student than Mubu was back in his academy days, as he was not one to like school nor to do an effort at it. After all, the forgemaster bore on their outfit the pin gived to the best students, so clearly they were amonst the finest and must know a few more tricks.

But, Mubu had received an info. Or should it be called a rumor ? He heard from the higher ups that teams would be made with the numerous genin of otogakure. He overheard them talk about team matchups, and mubu himself would, in fact be teamed up with non other than Quinn, and also another kid, way more younger, who was the son of the Otokage. ''An adult who is weirdly behind in school and a fucking kid'' Tought to himself Mubu. He was at the same time having a bad feeling towards his would-be teammates, and at the same time was anticipating suprises with a, hopefully, positive and powerfull outcome. Nonetheless, right now, he was more interested in testing his fighting skills and cardio with Raikur, as he knew sparing with Quinn would mean a beat up, and he was interested in training more than in seeing the abilities of the forgemaster, as he would clearly see them in action later, without having the need to get punched or kicked in the balls.

''Heh, you are pretty fast kiddo. Oh and sorry Quinn, if i heard your name correctly, but I think instead of having my balls broken, i'dd rather spar with the young one, practive both my feets steadiness and his. Anyways, we'll have other moments to talk and spar grandma, since im one of your future teammates, unfortunately for the both of us.'' Said Mubu while looking first at Quinn, then at Raikur, and then back at Quinn.

''Prepare yourself kid, we're gonna dance! lets just not knock ourselves out if you please.'' said Mubu with an energetic tone. He did a reverance, as tho he was a noble, wich he was very not, and started to do the same pose as before, the fighting pose, but this time, directed to Raikur. In a quick motion, he jumped 10 metter in his direction, landing a bit over him, to kick him with his heal on top of the head (Regular physical attack: 5 dmg). He also readied his other foot to land safely afterwards, his move trully fast and agressive, but also acrobatic and gracious. At least, for a first attack of the fist fight.

Training Day Empty Re: Training Day

Mon Jul 17, 2023 8:51 am
Quinn's breathing would regulate as they began to breath more normally. The extending circumstance of taking in such energy left them a little worse for wear but they did not mind in this situation. Taking some damage from breathing deeper to focus harder, the Forgemaster decided to give it a moment as they assessed the two's reactions. Quinn's experience with teaching and working with Satoshi and Zidane had given them a unique perspective on this situation. Raikur had been quick to grasp onto what Quinn was demonstrating as they witnessed him follow suite grabbing one of the tools that 'Fosters' Forge' had made and produced initially for the academy, found excess and some had wound up within the Advanced Training Facility. Smiling as Raikur pulled it out, "Perfect for practice. Well made tool."

As Quinn adjusted their stance allowing their chakra on their bat to fade away. Quinn was still practicing and learning themselves and knew they exerted quite a bit of their own ability as their own understanding of the techniques they used had their own repercussions (-10 HP, - 85 AP | 190 HP Left, 40 AP Left). Thankfully enough teaching and showing things may be important parts of practice, discussing and vocalizing issues and concerns was something else that Quinn was aware of in these situations. Raikur's grasp on the things Quinn was able to grab ahold of with some difficulty showed to them that he was just as adept at the style of techniques that Quinn picked up.

Before speaking towards Raikur, there was Mubu to look towards and learn more about. The young adolescent seemed bombastic but quelled when presented more of what he desired. The commentary on 'balls' seemed to confuse Quinn as they pursed their lips thinking before looking down that the bat in their hand. It appeared to Quinn that both likely needed some hand-eye coordination training in the future but that would be on them to practice and understanding the meaning that Quinn had behind the title. They had to pay in some fees after they departed for the number of baseballs they destroyed while learning and practicing. It was not a hefty fee but Quinn was not going to be redoing that training session anytime soon.

As the two seemed ready to do a small sparring-instructing match, Quinn understood that the best they could offer was simply instruction and action. With them looking to each other over Quinn, the baseball bat would be used to lean on, putting the end of it against the ground. Watching as Mubu ran forward and leaped into the air, Quinn spoke up. "Mistake 1. Jumping. Learn to adjust. Opens window to strike. Be quick on recovery. Landing is going to hurt." They chimed out elaborating on the concept of Acrobatic Recovery.

As witness to the whole affair, Quinn had a feeling they were going to be the one to report and record if anything beyond just a simple spar broke out. Raikur seemed to be the zealous type with Mubu being bombastic. Their personalities likely would not clash though Quinn's was probably the least normal of the three. Paying no mind or thought to the issue, Quinn figured to best describe and vocalize to teach the two some basic things as they went about their spar, acting as a commentator of a match rather than a participant. "Stretch before fighting. Never good to not. Going to pull something." They included waiting to see the result of what was to come from Mubu's rather forward approach to Raikur who had claimed a blunted weapon. "Good choice. Sparring should hurt. Not injure." They added once more.

Quinn while watching was thinking, processing, and adjusting their own mind to what was transpiring. Taking on from a student position within the hierarchy to becoming a Genin was a huge burden of change as it appeared to them that learning was not over. Let alone the adjustment that almost immediately after graduating, many more individuals sought after the knowledge that had garnered from their tenure as a student and their own training practices. It was a wonderful feeling of accomplishment beyond just graduating that Quinn felt in this moment. Other looked to them for understanding in a world that they were not originally apart of. Seeing how Raikur and Mubu held themselves, looked at themselves, it was painfully obvious in contrast of the two to themselves that Quinn was the odd one out.

Quinn being a blacksmith first, shinobi second, never changed as they learned from Satoshi and others. Many of what they gained and learned through their time was sure to be adjusted due to learning and understanding of what they needed. Staring down at the bat the chakra infusion avenue of techniques worked well enough though there was other things the Forgemaster was going to want, and as a byproduct, might neglect to train that form of technique for a while. Looking towards Raikur, who obviously knew their way around a sword, was a better candidate in Quinn's eyes for learning and forging their style around such a method of approach. Quinn on the other hand looking at Mubu, knew that the specialties they presented were likely not the ones they would showcase later down the road.
