Rainwater Restaurant [Kikuko, Mission] - Page 2 Empty Re: Rainwater Restaurant [Kikuko, Mission]

Mon Jul 12, 2021 6:22 pm
After the single round of questioning, it seemed like the couple had understood everything and didn’t have any other questions, so it seemed like their conversation was over and they could simply go and help out with the rest of the restaurant renovation. This was the ideal scenario, but of course it wouldn’t work out like that, as something always had to go wrong in these scenarios. As Zaibatsu was nodding and was about to leave the back room, he suddenly heard his partner Kikuko start yelling to him, saying that they need to switch to a rescue approach. Zaibatsu was confused, as he had not been in the village long enough to see the massive floods that sometimes happened, and so he quickly came out of the back room. Before he could ask what was going on, he saw the flood waters had risen to a point where the people were starting to be in danger of being swept away by the current. Zaibatsu acted quickly, and started to look out of the restaurant at the number of people out there in the water, and there weren’t as many as he thought. It seemed a lot of the people of the village anticipated something like this happening and left, leaving only the unaware and the stubborn.

Zaibatsu sprung into action, as he knew that the waters were going to be fairly lethal for people who didn’t have any sort of shinobi training, as they couldn’t stand on top of the water using the surface walking technique to avoid the dangers like they could. Zaibatsu looked around, and figured that he should save the people that were closest to him first. “I’m on it!” Zaibatsu would say in a determined voice, before grabbing the people that were helping the renovation in the restaurant. He manage to grab all four of them, minus Kikuko of course, before heading out of the restaurant. As soon as he opened the front door, water started pouring in, but this was necessary, as too much water pressure would either cause the door to be harder to open, or it might just shatter, sending a bunch of glass shards at high speed through the water current towards the people. Zaibatsu went outside and used the surface walking technique to avoid standing in the water, and went up to the roof to drop off the four people.

After that was done, he hopped back down and looked around for people who were in trouble, as the streets were starting to move rapidly, sweeping away anyone that wasn’t able to fight against the current. Zaibatsu ran to the other side of the street before dropping into the water and hitting the ground, the water now coming up to his shins, so it was pretty high already. An old woman could be seen struggling to keep above water as she was swept towards Zaibatsu, who grabbed her and put her on a nearby roof. This would continue for people for a while, until Zaibatsu couldn’t see anyone else that was truly in danger, as he knew the village would be sending rescue efforts as well, so they just needed to hold on for a bit. He was sure that Kikuko could handle the couple still inside the restaurant, as she seemed really competent to him, so he didn’t worry about those two with her and met up with her afterwards.

The rain had died down after a while, and it seemed that, while the flooding would continue for a bit, it wouldn’t get any worse, so Zaibatsu met back up with Kikuko. “Good job with all of that, looks like we might need to re-do the renovation, haha!” he would boisterously say once they were away from the couple, although he wouldn’t really care if they were actually offended by that. “Goodbye Kikuko, hopefully the next time we meet, it will be a bit less hectic and more fun.” Zaibatsu would say, hoping to form more friendly connections in the village, before he left the area to go and turn in the missions that he could have counted as completing. He hoped that the renovation would still be fine, considering they did do it… mostly.

Rainwater Restaurant [Kikuko, Mission] - Page 2 Empty Re: Rainwater Restaurant [Kikuko, Mission]

Tue Jul 13, 2021 12:01 am
Now was the time for quick action, and split decisions. The water would wash out eventually, but if anybody was to be swept away by the waters there would be no recovery. That meant that she had to get them to safety. Thankfully, she had improved far more since her last encounter with such a situation.

Forming the seal of confrontation outside the restaurant, the waters rushing around her ankles, the sealing matrix would spread even in the pouring rain before releasing Principe in a poof of smoke. Fluttering his wings before unfurling properly, she would load the couple onto his back before sending him off and away. Once he had gotten them to relative safety, he could perform as a rescue vehicle for those trapped in buildings but unable to escape because of the water. While riding upon him to help navigate was certainly an option, she would trust him to operate independently. They had worked together enough that they understood each other’s strengths nad weaknesses, and if she was needed she knew that he would call upon her quickly enough.

Still, that didn’t mean that her efforts would be for nothing. She still had one more action she could take to directly influence the world around them- even temporarily allay the flood. Form the seals, knead the chakra. Connect to that ‘other world’- where the demonic door sleeps.

“Summoning: Rashomon!”

The wall would serve as a dam to the floodwaters, temporarily allaying the waters enough for people to escape from their homes and buildings towards more stable shelter. While eventually it would break down once she cut her chakra flow from the construct, it would simply have to do. It couldn’t be helped, really. Now, was there anybody else in the area she could help? As a matter of fact...no. Her actions alongside Zaibatsu had seen to the swift evacuation of civilians, although she would probably sweep the area one more time just to be sure.

“Hah! I’d certainly think so. I feel really bad for the owner, getting floodwaters in his restaurant so soon after a renovation. It’ll probably carry all sorts of silt into the building- he’ll be sweeping it out for weeks. I might end up coming again on my own time, honestly.” Shrugging good naturedly, she would stare at the gray horizon as the rain continued to fall heavily upon them. “Thanks for working together, Zaibatsu. And yeah! If we’re lucky, we’ll get a less hectic event to deal with come the future.” Spinning on her heels, she would trot back towards her home with a pep in her step. It might be cold, and it might be windy, but today it somehow felt that it was going to be alright.
