Sharpening Senbon [solo mission]

Mission:

Nico was having a hell of a day. As per the job description, he had been doing missions all day. He did not even have time to train. He needed to prove himself as a valuable tool in service to the village. Even if these missions were quite mundane. The day had started with the standard cleaning missions run here clean this pick up something bring it here. Really easy and quick missions. Some of them Nico could finish in less than half an hour. These jobs were simple and netted him a decent sum of ryo quickly. But the problem was, they would not help him prove his worth to the village so Nico decided to step up his game. 

Nico finished cleaning up the bank for opening, setting the broom and mop in the janitor's closet. Though with the number of times Nico had cleaned this place it should be his closet. Nico then set out for the mission center for his next mission. Seeing as it was a Saturday Nico knew the clerk that he was going to see. So when he finally finished navigating the busy streets of the great kirigakure and arrived at the mission retrieval office, he was not surprised to be greeted by a young brown-haired girl. 

The girl saw him smiled and then said, "Oh hey Nico are you ready for another e-rank mission?" Nico thought on the question for a brief moment before responding with, "Actually, I was thinking that maybe I could take a d-rank out today nothing too dangerous though. Got any ideas?" Nico had known this clerk for a few months now and he had only done one d-rank so this was kind of a huge step for Nico. If he could increase the speed and quality of the missions he does he could better prove his worth.

"Hmm, we don't seem to have a lot of missions that don't require combat at the d-rank. But we do have this one mission for helping the kekada clan sharpen and create some of their famous senbon. They have a big order due in two days and they need to finish by tomorrow for shipping so they are enlisting the help of some of the shinobi forces. They're located near the outskirts of the village and you will have to answer them when you arrive. You okay with that?" Nico took a brief moment to think before nodding his head. He could do that it seemed like it would be quite simple.

"Yeah, I can do that mission just give me the contract and ill be on my way" The girl took a glance at him looked at the contract, and handed it over. She then said, "Okay ill see you back tonight when you bring the contract back." Nico nodded and left through the door. Navigating the busy streets of Kiri he soon found his destination. He looked upon a large compound, not the largest that Nico had seen but definitely up there, entering he was greeted by a guard.

"Hello, sir but this is Kekada clan property I'm gonna have to ask you to leave" The guard frowned slightly to fein reluctance. Nico looked at the man in the eyes for a few moments before pulling out the contract scroll and showing it to the man. The man looked at it raised his eyebrow before saying, "Oh I see you're here for the contract, We are going to keep an eye on you. You know clan secrets and all." The man then opened the door stepped in and motioned another member of his family. A young woman around Nico's age sprinted up to him conversed with the guard for a few seconds. Nico could not hear the conversation but when the woman looked at him excited he could guess what it was about. 

"Oh so you must be one of the po- I mean helpful ninja that picked up our contract. Well, here is the rundown." The girl started walking away but not before gesturing for Nico to follow her. The girl would walk a few feet before continuing her line of thought, "We have an order of 3000 senbon from the kirigakure ninja corps, we have completed only 1000 as our top manufacturers got sick. Lazy bastards. We have all of our people working on the last 1000 cause we need to finish by tonight for packing and transportation." The girl kept walking until reaching a room. Opening the door Nico and the girl are greeted with a large room filled with people all sharpening or crafting senbon from the wood.

The girl turned to Nico and said, "find yourself a box of one hundred and start sharpening leave the wood cutting to the professionals." Nico looked towards the girl nodded and then found himself walking towards a crate of unsharpened senbon. Looking into the crate sighing he took the crate and found the nearest bench. From there he buts his sack on the ground and flips through some seals. There in front of him, the oni puppet and the Pinnochio puppet he had crafted from Saya's teachings sat lifelessly. Taking a few moments to admire the looks he was receiving from the other workers he shortly distributed the senbon between the two puppets and himself, before launching strings towards the puppets as they came to life and grabbed some sharpening utensils they got right to work. 

Nico was finished with the 100 senbon he needed to complete within 20 minutes he was now on the 4th stack. Flexing his fingers and manipulating his puppets so they could do the work of 2 people he was able to do hours' worth of work in mere minutes. The puppets were able to sharpen a senbon and another in less than half a minute keeping their work efficiency at max. And after nearly 2 hours he was able to 500 senbon 5 times the amount that he was supposed to do. His clever use of his puppets had given him such efficiency.

Nico then went up to the girl but not before turning in the boxes of completed senbon into the requisition officer. The girl stood there dumbfounded he had outdone genuine pros with the use of his puppets. The amount of concentration and precision required to sharpen 3 things at once and still keep efficiency was insane. So after getting her signature of the contract and saying his goodbyes he left the compound. Making a brief stop at the mission center and collecting his ryo he went home to rest for the remainder of the day.
