The note (letter)

A bird flew through the sunset towards the large building central to konoha. Overall it was a messenger bird that held a specific note from a certain straw hat induvidual.


The writing for thoes whom knew him well enough was resonably readable. However, the contents were rather off even for the one known as yensung. upon opening the letter one would find two insects of yen. A single kilkikaichu male and female.



To fellow shinobi

I have waited a bit. Deciding to keep a presence in suna for some additional training. I have assured that ayanme should arrive a tad bit late. I say go through the usual routine just with a little more work behind it. She has trained quiet a bit with me and so it will benifit learning a thing or two from her. Please give kisuke uchiha and salzem my regards. I will belive ayame should arrive between 2-3 days of this letter.

It was in the early evening when the messenger bird arrived in Konoha. Most personnel in the administration building of Konoha had gone home and much of the building had turned out the lights. However, if one directed their attention to the highest room in the building they would still find light streaming from it onto the streets below. Years of working odd hours had not done Ashi Inuzuka any favors when it came to her sleep schedule and as the clock clicked ever closer to midnight she remained at her desk in the office of the Hokage.

The knock at her door elicited a grunt, which Ashu's aides had come to interpret as permission to enter. Tonight, however, Chai had taken up residence right in front of the door and lay snoring up a storm. So, the aide found himself carefully stepping over the snoozing hound to deliver a letter and a cup of coffee to Ashi. Nodding once and flashing a wolfish grin, she sent the aide on his way. Somehow Chai had slept through it all. Amazing creatures dogs, no?

Taking a sip from her steaming mug, Ashi glanced over the letter. Yensung and Ayame, it would seem, yet lived. Strangely, they planned to stay in Sunagakure. Perhaps a few days ago the woman would have worried, but recent reports indicated that whatever happened in Sunagakure was not a direct threat to the Konohagakure shinobi there. So, for now, all she could do was take note of the two Leaf shinobi's whereabouts and debrief them upon return as she had with the others.

The rest of the night went rather well. She finalized a budget, organized a graduation ceremony for the academy she had to speak at, and went over the latest border reports. Fatigue, however, did finally get the better of her around three in the morning when she slumped over on her desk snoring about as loudly as her four-legged companion on the floor. She'd been awake for two days straight.
