Congratulating a Friend (P, IO, Senshi, Akihana)

As Max stood up embracing him again, speaking the words and calling him a big brother, Senshi's mind flashed back to when he had been a child. He had already been deep into his own training regimen to become a shinobi of Kumo, but it had been a walk back from the training grounds with his uncle when he had seen it. They had crossed one of the many playgrounds that used to inhabit the village and Senshi had seen many kids his age, some younger, and some older than him as well playing. A young man, someone in his mid teens most likely, had approached the training grounds. He had not been a shinobi that Senshi could recall, but that wasn't really what was important from the memory. He remember being jealous, seeing a boy about his age running up to the teenager and embracing him, before the teenager had lifted the child up and placed him on his shoulders, giving the child a piggy back ride home. Senshi remembered wishing that his own brothers treated him as such, that he himself could have had that connection with some one. 

On a whim, before Max could let go, Senshi's hand flashed out at his max speed catching Max's arm just above the elbow and then with a slight application of strength he lifted Max up before setting him down on his shoulders. So that Max's chest would be able to press against his head and one leg would be on either side of his chest. He didn't say anything for a moment, but when he did speak there was an odd levity and relaxed tone to his voice that was normally missing. "Well as your big brother, it's my duty to make sure you get home safely. So, I expect you to hold on while we walk there." Senshi reached out over the table standing up as he did so. He gathered the container with the remaining dumplings and started towards the door. "You'll make an excellent Chuunin Max, you're already a splendid shinobi." With those words should Max not object Senshi would open the door and ducking slightly to make sure Max wouldn't bang his head on the door he would start walking towards Max's shack.

Max would happily hop onto the back of Senshi, knowing that he was in good hands. The boy would think about what the future would hold as they head off towards the shack that will soon no longer be his home.
