Chance Encounter (P, NK)

Sora raised an eyebrow. All of a sudden an overwhelming heat caused him to sweat and his heart to clench in fear. He carefully raised up his head to see the fireball coming down towards him and everyone else sparring there, but why wasn't anyone reacting, why didn't they know this crazy man was going to kill them!

Wasn't this supposed to be a friendly spar, nobody was going to die, he didn't want it to end like this! Tears threatened to spill out of his eyes before he did the only thing he could think of in this situation.

"Please," Sora said as tears streamed down his face, "I don't want to die." He mustered as much strength he could in his wobbling limbs to run towards Iesada and pull out his kunai.

He brought his hand forward to slowly press the kunai to his throat, "I-if you don't stop this technique..." Sora didn't finish; he hadn't need to complete his sentence, the missing-nin would know what he meant. If Iesada tried anything, he'd attack him with the Discipline! technique.

A grimace tugged at the older man's mouth only to be passed off as a slim smile. Genjutsu, it seemed, was quite effective on the unprepared. He'd keep that in mind for later. In his book, this was a win. Certainly, he had a kunai in his leg and one at his throat, but his opponent was broken. Breaking a body was all too easy, anyone could do it. Breaking a mind, however, that is a feat only a few can claim to have accomplished.

"Very well," The heat receded and noise dissipated, the threat was gone and the spar over. "Don't worry, I never intended to hurt anyone, I had control. Now, what do you suppose we should do about this?"

He pushed himself up leaning heavily on his left leg and gesturing to the metal spike embedded in his leg. There was no reason to tell the boy it had been a genjutsu. After all, a magician never reveals his secrets, right?

"I'm no medic, but it doesn't look good."

Wincing ever so slightly his first instinct was to pull the blade from his leg, but thought better of it. Sure, he was bleeding a bit right now, however, if there was nothing plugging the wound then how much blood would there be? No, better not to take the risk.

Sora chuckled a bit. Of course, it was a bluff, the man didn't seem like a bad person at all, but you could also never know in the world of Shinobi.

The Genin pulled his kunai away and put it in his holster with a quick flick of his wrist. The overwhelming heat and the whistling noise of destruction had stopped, everything was okay, Sora still couldn't help but wonder what that technique was.

"I have an E-Rank Medical Technique, it only heals it slightly, though, afterward I'll take you to the hospital," Sora told his now considered friend. Sora cut his sleeve off with one of his kunai and handed it to him. "Bite onto this as hard as you can. Pulling the blade out is going to hurt a lot."

Sora waited for him to put it in his mouth before he grabbed the kunai and yanked it out instantly without warning. He cut off his other sleeve and tried to stop the bleeding as he started performing the hand seals.

Boar, Rat, Snake, and go! He placed both of his hands on the wound as it began to heal the wound. The semi-deep cut suddenly started stitching itself together. He held the cloth and wiped the blood away; there was a lot, but not enough he couldn't handle. Honestly, Sora was lying to himself. He wanted to gag at the sight of blood and the wound, but he had to be strong for Iesada.

Sora would help the man up and lead him to the hospital, afterward after he said his leave, he'd take off home.

"Thanks again Iesada." Sora would've said before he left.

Adrenaline could only last so long and as Iesada's petered out the pain hit him, well, like a knife in the leg. Biting down on the cloth Sora provided he waited. Thankfully he didn't have to wait long for in a second the throbbing pain he felt was replaced with an overwhelmingly sharp pain. The whole world swam before his eyes and his fists clenched as a pain unlike any he had felt before. By some miracle, he wasn't dead. No, Iesada was not used to pain, who was really?

The next thing he knew his vision cleared and Sora was pulling his hands away from his leg. Amazingly, the wound did not look nearly as bad as before. Chakra really was a curious thing. It could kill and heal; it all depended on the person using it. There was some poetic justice in there somewhere, though he did not much want to dig through and find.

Helped up by Sora, he still felt a twinge of pain, but nothing as bad as before. So far so good. He was then led through the village and to the hospital. The smell of death was no longer in the air, the winds had shifted. However, the smell of death had been replaced by blood, his own blood. The caustic metallic smell was a bit disconcerting. Sure, he had smelled blood before, but knowing how it had been shed made the whole situation more than a bit odd for the man.

A friendly nod was all Sora would get as he left. The medical staff of Kumogakure was quite skilled and, oddly enough, didn't ask questions. Apparently, this whole injury thing happened a lot. No, the shinobi lifestyle was not all sunshine and roses, Iesada found this out. He found this out on that fateful day with Sora Uzumaki and it was a lesson he would hold close to his heart as he moved forward.
