Hikari Learns Lightning Javelin~

The sky was tinted hues of orange and pink, the sun barely risen above the horizon. It was this early that a certain white haired Hyuuga was training out on the training grounds, a wolf as black as night and as swift as a coursing river, walked along beside her. He was her best friend, a loyal companion, and her familiar, Kuro. The dirt crunched beneath them as they walked, deciding to set up “camp” at the trunk of a large tree. A breeze blew by, dancing upon the leaves and cooling her pale skin. In the shade of the tree is where she would start her training on a jutsu known as the Lightning Javelin. She read about this jutsu in the Ninjutsu book she picked up at the Konoha Library, the place she acquired most of her knowledge about jutsu from.
Placing her items, such as her bag, food and water, and some other books she had checked out from the library, by the roots of the tree, Hikari opened her Ninjutsu book, flipping through it to find the page that had details about the Lightning Javelin jutsu. “Aha, there it is!” She said aloud, a look of triumph upon her visage at accomplishing this minor feat. As shown, the kunoichi tended to talk to herself, mostly during her training to help her work through any problems or dilemmas she was facing at the time.
She scanned the page, re-reading all the information held within it. “Right, this jutsu amplifies my speed and strength until I cancel it, so this will be quite helpful if I face a very strong or speedy opponent. Now, the tricky part is how to perfect this jutsu. I have to surge lightning chakra through my body, causing my neurons to ionize in a balanced nature that increases my neuro-transmission rate, thus granting the amplifications.”
Hikari had already training this jutsu a few times before, but only briefly and not to the extent of having gotten it to work as it should. She figured it would take hours upon hours, days upon days even to learn this jutsu, but she also noted how rewarding this jutsu would be to have it in her arsenal. Especially with her having very few lightning style ninjutsu, and a wider variety of fire style jutsu. Kuro, sitting upright by the foot of the tree, barked at her to encourage her, as he would be training by himself to get stronger as well. That was how they trained, together but separate (sometimes) to increase each other’s strengths. As such, Kuro’s main focus as the moment was getting faster, so his speed and endurance would be what he worked on all throughout their training.
“Thank you, Kuro! Good luck to you as well! May this be a very productive training session!” And with that, the white haired Hyuuga closed her eyes in concentration, focusing on inhaling and exhaling. She was preparing herself for intense focus, as this jutsu would be harder to accomplish than any she had previously learned. After a few moments of concentrated breathing, she opened her eyes, determination glinted within the white-lilac hinted orbs.
Hikari thought back to the first time she trained this jutsu, remembering how the lightning chakra blitzed through her body, coursing through her being. Just practice it like that, and you’ll be golden! She focused her chakra, envisioning her lightning chakra surging through her body and ionizing the neurons as it passed through She could feel the electricity jolting through her being, shaking her limbs a little at the force and power it had as it coursed by. The effects of the lighting had died down tremendously since her first attempt at this jutsu, for the first time she tried it she felt exhausted and worn out from just one attempt.
As she felt the lightning subside, and her body calmed down from the lightning itself, she again felt no change in her body, thus deeming it another failed attempt at learning this unique jutsu. “That’s okay, just gotta try it over and over again until it works! No need to worry, Kuro!” She flashed her wolven companion a toothy grin and a thumbs up before she turned to face forward again, taking steady breaths to maximize her concentration yet again. She went through the instructions for the jutsu in her head, making sure she was not missing a key element to perfecting it. Satisfied that she had indeed not missed a step or anything, the Hyuuga closed her eyes, deciding to test out this jutsu with her eyes closed and senses on full alert. She took another deep breath, centralizing only her lightning chakra (and not her fire style chakra) at the core of her being and sending it throughout her body, allowing it to wash over her in a jolt. Yet again another failed attempt.
The sun continued to rise higher in the sky, its heat forming perspiration all over her body, the sweat running down her forehead, making her look shiny from the reflection of the sweat by the sun. She took a small break from her training, bending down to grab her water bottle and a bowl for Kuro from among her belongings. She set the bowl down beside her things, and opened a second bottle of water for Kuro, pouring the crystal clear liquid into the red plastic bowl. The wolf sauntered over to where Hikari was and began lapping the water from the bowl, having gotten himself quite worked up from his own training- plus his black, thick fur did not help to keep him cooler in the heat. Hikari took a swig from her own water, relishing in how it helped cool her parched, dry throat. More people were appearing at the training grounds, the time being more convenient for people to start their days. She did not mind the chatter and buzz of the people milling about, as long as they stayed quiet enough for her to focus then she would have no qualms with them.
Her break lasted a few more moments before Hikari got back to her training, hoping to finish learning this jutsu before night befell upon the land- which would not have been for several more hours. She figured at her rate that she could possibly accomplish this little feat, though she would have to hurry up and give it even more of her all than she had previously done. Still beneath the cooling shade of the tree, Hikari collected her lightning chakra again and guided it throughout her body, getting used to the rhythmically way it flowed within her, as her body grew more and more accustomed to the lightning running within her as this jutsu requires. Although she couldn’t hear it, she figured the lightning was crackling and sizzling as it traveled.
This time was different. Hikari could not place how, but her body felt different as she held this jutsu. To test her limits, Hikari darted off towards the other side of the training grounds, testing her limits and seeing just how fast she could go. She was saddened to see that her speed had remained the same, but she was pleasantly surprised by how close the jutsu was to being perfected. It took her a couple of minutes to run back to her training spot from where she had stopped at the end of the other side of the field.
“Kuro! I think I am getting close to mastering this jutsu! The chakra within me made me feel different, although I didn’t get the boosts this time I am sure if I keep at it just like this, then I will be able to get it before the sun sets!” She exclaimed happily to her familiar, a bright smile written across her face. She was determined now more than ever to complete this training and learn this new jutsu since she was so close, just out of reach of it.
With her renewed enthusiasm, Hikari got back into her usual training stance- legs shoulder-width apart and hands folded together in front of her- and she focused intently on her lightning chakra, willing it to not only spread throughout her body but to also ionize the neurons within to give her increased speed and strength. Her body hardly even reacted now to the lightning chakra coursing through her, as if it were her own blood; no more sweating profusely, shaking, or being worn out to the point of falling to her knees. Her and the lightning that spread throughout her were now one with each other even more so than ever before. Hikari felt the surge, and her body felt new again despite her fatigue from chakra usage. She felt revitalized, as if she could go run five miles and not even break a sweat. This has to be it! I think I finally learned this jutsu! But I should go test it out now just to make sure, in case it’s just like last time! She eagerly thought to herself, as she took off at a blinding speed towards the same direction she had raced off to previously. Her speed had increased- from 110 to 140- just like the book said it would. Once she made it to the other side of the training fields, which took less time due to her increased speed, she looked around for something she could either lift or punch to test her new strength. To her left she saw a practice dummy, the ones you would typically teach young children how to throw shuriken and kunai at as target practice. Hikari ran over to the practice dummy, which had seen better days, with its side leaking straw and several holes through its body. Keeping her concentration, she formed her hand int a fist, pulled back her arm, and landed a bunch straight at the dummy’s battered stomach. Her punch sent the dummy flying a few meters- as her strength was at 75 with the jutsu boost. Straw from the dummy flew on the wind as the dummy rolled across the ground, eventually coming to a stop due to the loss of momentum and energy. What once was a practice dummy was now the scatter corpse of a scarecrow, its remnants going everywhere.
Hikari pumped her fist into the and cheered, signs to show how elated she was at having finally gotten the jutsu to work, before she raced all the way back to where Kuro and her belongings were. After a minute or so, she reached the location and dispersed the jutsu, wanting to make sure she could continuously perform the jutsu and that it was not just a one time ordeal. Kuro wagged his tail and barked happily as she returned, glad his best friend had been able to finally get it right. She nodded her head at her companion, flashing him a smile as she got into her stance to attempt the jutsu once more- this time knowing exactly what perfecting it felt like.
Performing her same routine of breathing in and out deeply with her eyes closed, then opening them once she had finished her little meditation, Hikari focused on centralizing her lightning chakra before sending it out throughout her body, imagining it ionizing her neurons again. She felt the same prickling sensation as the lightning took its course through her body, and she could feel herself feel stronger, rejuvenated, and like she could take over the whole world. Feeling confident that she had learned this new jutsu, Hikari turned towards Kuro and patted him on the head affectionately. Then they both sat down at the base of the tree, Kuro drinking water from his bowl and Hikari from her bottle. The sun was almost about to set, the sky already tinted hues of orange, red, and pink It was a peaceful, relaxing way to spend the end of her training session. The breeze helped her cool off from her intense workout, her skin flushed from all the training she had just done. Sure she only learned one new jutsu, but at least now she had it in her arsenal to use whenever she pleased. It also meant she could come back tomorrow, same place and same time, to learn another new jutsu (or maybe even more, who knows). She glanced over at Kuro, noting the wolf looked as exhausted as she was- their day of training was not in vain.
They sat there watching the sunset for a few more moments before Hikari went over and started packing her things away, figuring it was time for them to go home and rest after a job well done. Plus, she figured, she would be able to sort through the remainder of her books to see what jutsu she wanted to learn next. Lastly, she had just remembered that they had not had anything to eat all day, too busy focusing on training to think of their empty stomachs. With all her things packed, Hikari and Kuro set off toward their home at the Hyuuga district, ready to eat a delicious meal and take a long, relaxing bath.
