Follow the wood [P] Empty Follow the wood [P]

Sitting inside of Kirigakure's training grounds, Xyxer gazed around his body momentarily. He was elevated from the ground, sitting on the branch of a tree with most people within his vicinity not knowing he was there at all. His chakra had been suppressed to a great level, his legs crossed as he meditated in silence. It was always good for those of power to remain humble, and the best way for Xyxer to attain that was to train with the others, whether they be Jounin, Genin or mere Students. A visit from a leader was like being blessed by a god, and Xyxer knew that it was a great motivational technique. Plus, well, if anyone slacked off he could just throw a pebble at their head. His body protected from the elements with a black cloak with crimson clouds drifting across it, but his head remained open. After all, he didn't want to block off too much moisture, he loved that stuff.

It was a rare day that Rakka wasn't secluded in her hut, training by herself. Recently, her study of Juinjutsu had led her no fruit, which had frustrated her immensely. In her anger, she decided to take a break from studying seals for awhile, to return to her Ninjutsu and Genjutsu practices. She had done little with her Hyoton jutsu in awhile, having much preferred to work with Katon as of late, which seemed ironic to her. The powers she gained from her clan were often ignored for the raw power of Katon. Now, however, she was working on her genjutsu, which required her to return to Ice.

She was wearing rather casual attire, as she had little interest in physical training today, namely a leather jacket with a red scarf, a yellow tank top underneath, and a pair of ripped jeans. Essentially, she had just thrown on all the clothes she found when exiting her house in order to look halfway decent while practicing her ninjutsu.

Standing in the training grounds, Rakka took no notice of Xyxer, although by sheer chance, she happened to be looking in his rough direction. Rakka would thrust out her palms, as ice formed instantly before her, taking the appearance of a mirror. Rakka would make a few more hand seals, empowering the mirror with her chakra, and infusing it with a genjutsu, causing any who looked upon it to see an icy reflection of themselves and grow paralyzed with cold.

Xyxer saw something in his peripheral vision. A reflection of sorts, enticing him to grab a quick peek at the handsome man who would inevitably look back. Turning his head towards the icy mirror, his eyes locked onto the cool man in the reflection, and he could not tell whether he was starting to turn cold because of how cool he looked, or whether he was currently under some form of jutsu. The temperature slowly worked it's way through him, making most of his body feel cold, which made it difficult for him to remain in his meditating position. Slowly, he rocked off from the branch in a rather comedic fashion since Nick wanted this to happen. Rescue me senpai.

Rakka's senses would pick up a gentle rocking sound, moving to and fro with the wind. Looking around her mirror, she saw a man in a dark cloak, apparently someone who had glanced over at her mirror, about to fall.
"Shit. Again?" She muttered in frustration, sighing as she releasing the genjutsu from the mirror so as not to trap some other poor sucker, before jogging slowly towards him. As she reached him, he would likely be about to fall. She would hold out her arms to catch him, just as he would begin to fall from the tree, cloak billowing as he fell

As the man landed in her arms, her eyes grew wide as she recognized him as Xyxer, the Mizukage. How on earth had Xyxer managed to get caught in her genjutsu? Why was he even here? Quickly, she would revive him, adding her chakra to his, breaking the genjutsu before the hypothermia set in.
"Y'know, I can never practice that damned jutsu without almost killing somebody. You okay, Xyxer?" She would ask him casually.

Xyxer felt himself landing, albeit it was not onto the ground with a hard thump, it was into the arms of someone he vaguely recognised. Hadn't he met this girl at Tengakure at some point? A prior resident of Shimagakure? Either way, he was in quite a pickle to be in such a vulnerable position to one of his subordinates. The only thing that would somewhat pull this off without making him look too bad, would be cheese. And so it was cheddar he would serve.

The sensation leaving his body slowly due to her chakra, he'd simply look up at her during the romantic bridal carry, "I'm fine, Rakka, if I recall correctly. Although, it appears I've fell for you." He grew somewhat confused as to how she was holding both him and Samehada up, before realising he had left it against the tree. Regardless, he made no move from this position, curious as to how Rakka would react. Hopefully his head would not hurt too much if dropped.

Follow the wood [P] Empty Re: Follow the wood [P]

Rakka actually laughed out loud at the Mizukage's attempt to save his pride. Not that great of a pick up line, but he had just been afflicted with hypothermia, so she didn't feel she could judge. It was a little humorous that she was holding up the Mizukage in a bridal style carry, having just caught him out of the sky, though perhaps he thought something a little different of it then she did.
"Not very original, but points for effort. Maybe walk it off, Xyxer?" She teased, dropping her right hand so that the man's legs would connect with the ground, standing him up.

"The frostbite probably slowed your wit a tiny bit. Take a minute to get your bearings." She advised, releasing her other arm once she was sure that Xyxer had good footing. "What were you doing up there, anyways?" She asked him, glancing up the tree.

The key, as far as Xyxer was informed, was making them laugh. Apparently laughter was a very valuable asset in socialising, it made you likable and desirable. After all, nobody wanted to hang out with a complete bore.. maybe he should do jokes more often during his meetings with others. He dropped his feet onto the ground once she released his legs, smirking at her words. "I was meditating. It's pleasant to take a break from paperwork and see how your teachings are being used, after all, it's a bit dull to put so much effort in when there's no pay off." He started to walk a little from Rakka, moving towards the tree he had fell from. Quickly analysing the distance from his branch to the ground, he was somewhat pleased he had not fell, he'd probably get an unsightly bruise. Lifting up the bandaged blade that was resting beside it, he slung the sash over his head and rested it on his shoulder and torso.

"Although, clearly I have nothing to fear if that's the kind of technique that's born." He paused for a moment, turning around to face her once more, "Unless, of course, you learnt that under Naoki's rule, he was a pretty impressive one." Of course, he knew barely anything about him. He had surrendered quickly, and he knew not of his powers, but he felt insulting her previous kage would just be rude. Resting his arms against his sides, he spoke once more, "How do you find the new weather?" His smirk remained, because a Yuki in a cold village would probably be more comfortable than the tropics, but hey, she had stayed in that village for a reason so there may be more to that.

Follow the wood [P] Empty Re: Follow the wood [P]

Rakka raised an eyebrow at the sword Xyxer had left setting against the tree. It was, well, gigantic, and covered in bandages, which led Rakka to believe that Xyxer was both compensating for something and self conscious about the size of his sword. What an ironic combination. Xyxer explained that he was meditating and observing the practice of his shinobi, which was perfectly acceptable, if a little creepy. She remembered her time as temporary leader of Yukigakure, and how utterly boring that venture had been. She could understand the desire to get away from the paperwork.

"Yeah, I can believe it." She said simply, shrugging. "I've been there before." She added simply in explanation, not one to elaborate unless asked. Xyxer's compliment on her technique was not lost on Rakka, who pseudo-swooned at the comment jokingly.
"What, that old trick? Oh, it's nothing, really." She said sarcastically. "Naoki didn't know much about this kind of thing, from what I saw. He did teach me some pretty neat tricks with Fuinjutsu, but I don't think he cared much for the art of genjutsu." She commented, looking over her shoulder absentmindedly.

Rakka found it a little amusing that the Mizukage was here, talking to her about the weather.
"I mean, it's not nearly as bad as it used to be, thanks to the mist, but it's not a chip on what was Yukigakure. It's a shame that my boss was such a fool, I had a good thing going on there." She answered. "I'm not much of a lover of hot weather, if you couldn't tell." She explained.

Follow the wood [P] Empty Re: Follow the wood [P]

Xyxer realised around this moment that he may have just initiated a conversation with Rakka, and that standing around may be quite awkward, especially with all of the screams of children as they struck training dummies a little too hard , or of course, as children often did, were defeated by their opponent's 'NUH UH, INIVISIBLE SHIELD'. If this continued to progress, he'd surely have to suggest another area to actually talk. His eyebrow lifted somewhat at her saying she had once been in his shoes, and he wondered whether this was a joke formed from a person born of cold. However, just in case, he'd give her room to speak with one of the most amazing words he could muster, "Oh?"

He knew Naoki was one who knew his fuinjutsu, after all, a great deal of the Village's defense came from them. Interdiction seals, protection seals.. it almost made Xyxer himself wonder how he had gotten to the village unscathed. Had it been superior knowledge under the hammer of war, or had Naoki wanted to retreat to his own little haven? "I heard about Yukigakure's destruction some time ago, although not the cause of it. What unfolded? I took little interest due to the rapid destruction of.. well, every minor village." A small smile perched upon his lips at the memory of invading Amegakure, the puppet boy had done well.. but not well enough. He started to walk slowly from the training grounds, given that it appeared he had continued the conversation to flourish. He'd turn his head to speak to her as he left, because beside, staying in a training ground after being basically knocked out by a Jounin was pretty humiliating. "Do you want to speak elsewhere? I fear a stray shuriken may ruin one of our appearance's." Sure, it was a bit egotistical, but it was better than a direct compliment. He waited on that spot, naturally hoping for her to suggest somewhere, hoping it would not turn into a very long waiting game.

Follow the wood [P] Empty Re: Follow the wood [P]

Ah, this one sure had a way with words. Masterful in his craft, weaving poetry with every line. "Oh," how poetically minimal, yet it conveyed so much emotion, and, more relevantly, a reason to keep talking when conversation grew slow. Rakka was not proud of her time in Yukigakure, mostly because of the fact that she was forced to serve under a leader so incompetent he doomed his village all for the sake of his own pride. A leader so foolish he believed he could fight an enemy so powerful he could not even conceive.
"Yeah. When Yukigakure had its great revival, right before its great destruction, Demetri was never really around. He left me to do his paperwork while he traveled." She explained, shuddering at the memory. "It was right of you to assume that it wasn't worth your time. The leader was an arrogant fool who sacrificed the freedom of his village for his own pride. I'm ashamed I ever served under a man like that." She said, her frustration at Demetri clearly visible on her face. "A man called Youka came to the village and asked for a peaceful surrender while I was in temporary office. I tried to settle things diplomatically before they devolved to a fight, and then Demetri decided to show up and ruined it all. He attacked the man with absolutely no plan or strategy, and was defeated instantly. He was so powerful, it was clear that there was no contest. He was offered the chance to retain the village's freedom, if he would only stop fighting, but he continued, knowing full well that he would not win." She explained, leaving out as many unimportant details as she

could. "He wanted to be remembered as a hero. Instead they celebrated his death. That should give you some inclination as to the kind of leader he was. The damned fool couldn't even keep our people from starving, no, he was too busy trying to form his grand alliance." She said bitterly.

Sighing, Rakka regained her composure.
"So yeah, I left. As much as I hated Demetri, I had no desire to live in that place any longer. Youka offered to let me lead the village, but I had had plenty of experience with the job, and I knew it wasn't for me. I never did like desk jobs." She explained, much calmer now.

Xyxer made a suggestion that they continue the conversation elsewhere, and frankly, Rakka didn't mind. She was growing tired of the children loudly thrashing about as if they owned the place. It was amusing to hear Xyxer make what she could only assume was another attempt at a pickup line, something she did not expect of the man.
"Not a bad idea. Wouldn't want to damage the moneymaker, would we?" She said coyly, gesturing for Xyxer to walk with her, down the path into town. "I mean, the bar's open, if you want my two cents."
